As an old ass Narutard I would also need to point out that Madara got foreshadowed back in Part 1. I remember back in the day all the forum arguements about who or what could’ve been Madara ever since Kurama droped his name. The speculation and hype for Madara was INSANE back in the day. I still remember when Edo Madara appeared and people were freaking the fuck out.
I still to this day remember King of Lighting's chapter reviews of Edo Madara and him saying "This man keeps pulls epic shit out of his hat!" or something to that effect.
He's actually way oversimplified it. The US armed several pre existing insurgency groups to fight an invading Soviet, this wasn't the first time the US or Soviets did that. Fundamentally what caused the falling out was not just asking for weapons. What occured is the moderate rebels as is always the case were overtaken by Islamic radicals thus founding the Taliban. Yet again America bad needs to stop.
Orochimaru in part 1 will always be the best Naruto villain imo. The way everything always seemed to lead back to him, the way his presence was always so unnerving. He was a perfect antagonist. For me, Kishimoto's first great sin was how he had Orochimaru go out like a bitch in Shippuden (twice) and when he comes back he's had a change of nature for no real reason.
I bet orochimaru doesn't exactly consider himself a villain or a good guy he just does what he wants so... he didn't really change his nature. Plus Sasuke being stronger than him then he's not stupid enough to pick fights he can't win... usually (Itachi). But I'm sure he actually thought he could win that lolol.
@@saymos72 Changing nature isn't about him becoming good, It's about him going from being purely self interested to being content watching the progress of someone else. Obviously he doesn't want to mess with some stronger than him (although I'd argue that edo tensei should give him the advantage over Sasuke, but whatever), but if he changed his nature simply because he encountered someone he desired as a vessel that was too strong for him, then it should have happened with Itachi. I think we all know it was a cop out.
Agreed. Madara is great and definitely made an impact in the franchise few could match, but Nagato edges out as a character. His speech over justice made Naruto realize just how limited his perspective was, Pain was a protagonist in his own right, and his arc as the villain stuck the landing.
Madara is epic for sure but even if drops 10 Meteors on top of each other he does not come close to Nagato. Pain was the peak villain in every aspect, writing, presence, design, plot, music. Pain was a fucking myth.
Zabuza should have been top 3. Even though he was here for a short period of time, His arc is what made most of us love Naruto. Not just his power, but the lessons and growth the characters had was what hooked me
Haku and zabuza are still my favorite naruto villains, perfectly introduce the horrors of how messed up the shinobi world is plus still the only talk jutsu that felt legit to me

Mine is a tie between Madara and Orochimaru. Madara is obvious, my reasoning for Orochimaru is that with most villains they are just powerful people who do evil things. With the way Orochimaru is portrayed especially in pre shipuden he is that great amalgamation of powerful, unsettling, and unknowable. I haven't seen many antagonists in anime that have the same presence as Orochimaru.
Well said. Can't think of any other villain (not only in Naruto, but in the entire universe of fiction) that would embody so beautifully the mix of mystery and danger. The walking (or slithering) definition of dark allure. His cold calmness, accompanied by a smirk, made him even more threatening. And *yesss,* Lord Orochimaru's voice (especially the dubbed one) was a perfect final touch🐍
I loved kobuto as a kid, but i didn't really know much about him back then. I think it was the chunnin exams fight with kakashi with the cool curved knife
My favorite Narutoverse villain ever is Menma, even though he's a filler character from a filler movie. He's my favorite because we finally got the chance to see what Naruto would’ve become if he turned evil.

Madara is a great villain, but he's no Aizen who imo is the greatest anime villain ( Freeza is up there too). His plan was actually well thougt out, he was insanely powerful, charismatic and smart. His plan nearly succeeded and needed the MC to sacrifice his own powers (unlike Naruto) and even then he was still going to win, until Kubo used plot armor and Urahara to stop him. And then he comes back and helps stop the next big bad (it's like Marara would have helped against Kaguya) while looking even more awesome, still being himself and not becoming a "good guy." Madara is great, but he'll be 3rd (4th for me because I have Vegeta second behind Aizen) at best behind Aizen and Freeza.
This is a subjective matter, but I've never understood why cloning is considered bad. In my opinion Orochimaru did flip flop because, as far as I'm aware, he hasn't killed anyone since then. Although it is totally possible that's only because Konoha is monitoring him, until that's shown clearly to us I'm going to
Zabuza is 1 (I can’t spell) and pain is 2 they were PEAK Naruto Everyone else is just eh and meh including madara Hot take fight me but I feel like he could of been made better but I’d put him at number 3 The first two you can really relate too and in away you can relate to madara too Maybe if he actually won it would have been better Madara wins and Naruto ends that would be great but no they find a way to break out of the genjutsu and continue the series Some say the show is still in genjutsu but that’s just a cop out excuse
Nick showing his wisdom and understanding of human psyche and geopolitics! Just prepare yourself for Fox News accusing you of supporting terrorists 😅 I fully agree with you; a freedom fighter is a terrorist to you when you're the oppressor commiting a genocide against them ! However, indiscriminate annihilation is not self defense or revenge or a way to bring peace, so Nagato in away betrayed Yahiko more than Danzo and Hanzo who killed him by forcing Nagato to kill him to save Konan. Nagato doesn't even try to kill Danzo but destroys all of Konoha, which is ironically also screwed by Danzo and probably would've found a lot of support if he only went after him!
I can’t put any villain in the series above Pain. He was the most compelling & was able to accomplish everything all the other villains tried to do in less than 2 arcs. He was like the Majin Buu of the series just taking out everyone & everything while still having us thinking “You know what, he’s kinda right 🤔”lol Pain #1 for me
The third Hokage. Going from most outrageous to least: After everything Danzo did that he knew about, he basically didn't do anything to him. Allowed Orochimaru to escape, after the horrors he did that the third knew about. He could of sent baby Naruto and some trusted Ambu or retired ninja to live outside the village as to allow Naruto to grow up somewhere where no one would know him and there for not be hated by those around him, or he never leaked that Naruto was Minato's kid which could have garnered some love for Naruto. He could have stepped down as Hokage to allow a new Hokage to take over once Konaha was repaired, there by allowing him to look after Naruto. He could have done very similar thinks I said with Sasuke if the massacre still happened. He could of talked to the heads of the Hyuga about the use of a deadly curse mark to subjugate some of its members, he could have put medical ninjutsu into the ninja academy lesson plans so every ninja would have a basic idea of what it was and (like Tsunade wanted) train some of the genin to work as medical nin.
The villian shouts, the hero cries, he knows what he's been through, he doesnt have to do this. The villian turns away [The music starts to play] He scoffs, after all, what would he know. He turns back, a tear in the hero's eye [A picture of a tree with a swing fades in] Well, what would he know, hes an orphan afterall [You smash your keyboard repeatedly] "Don't don't tell me its that fucking swing!" And all the villagers turned away on him, he even failed the graduation exam 4 time. [Scene continues, you leave the room]
Obito is also underated with no Obito the story wouldn't be as convincing minito wouldn't of died and naruto would have been a skilled prepy boy like boruto
The real villian is Kishmoto for creating physically strong women with such little self worth that they continue to thirst after a man that tried to kill them.
Zestu should have been at the top of the list.. He was the shadow figure behind the entire plot of Naruto, on Kaguya's behalf of course.. If I could make a Squad of My favorite Naruto villains, it would consist of; Zetsu, Sakon/Ukon, Mu, Kabuto, Hidan, and Hanzo..
Favorite villain? Obito. Most Wasted Redemption Arc? Zaku. Who I wanted to see more of? Hidan. Who I wish didn’t die early? Yagura. Also where is Shizune?
Kabuto is so underated I think people forget that Kabuto brought the real threat if no Kabuto then no edo/madara and the war would of ended so quick people love madara so much but you wouldn't of got him without Kabuto. The war would of been very boring without Kabuto
So glad Orochimaru is on this list, definitely my favorite Naruto villain, I've gotten so many weird looks from fellow Naruto fans for saying Orochimaru is one of my favorite characters.
"...about their fav villain, no one ever brings up Orochimaru" Lemme tell you something... You talk with wrong people then! The only reason why he's kinda fading as the story develops is that Kishi had to bring more and more gigachad-crazy opponents to the table so the main characters could go further in their development. But at the end of the day Orochimaru, imho, is the only example of a batshit crazy VILLAIN. Which means no hypocritical excuses like "I'm saving the world, it's for your greater good, you just don't understand" or twisted moral coming out of hurt feelings (loss, grief, etc.) - nope, it's "all about me, I don't wanna die and lose everything I have, I wanna be at the top, I wanna be the eternity itself, and I don't give a crap about your opinion, moral and idea of justice". That's the villain. Not anti-hero, not antagonist - the villain. And not a 2d flat one tho. I kinda like him going neutral towards the end of Naruto story - Kishi unexpectedly managed to show a character who changed his mind without "talk-no-jutsu", who was able to analyze his life and decisions by himself, and change without lame seeking for redemption. Orochimaru knows who he is, what he has done, and he has mere to none regrets. The man accepts himself in any way he is. Absolute fav of mine, 10/10.
My favourite Villain was always Zabuza and will always be Zabuza. He was the reason I watched Naruto and was hyped when Suigetsu got his sword. I also reall liked Dosu, but he was not that impactful...
My list goes something like this. In my opinion, I base by list based on the character individually and the weight they carried throughout the series playing bad guy. 1. Madara 2. Itachi 3. Orochimaru 4. Kurama 5. Nagato 6. Sasuke 7. Kabuto 8. Obito 9. Danzo 10. Hidan Madara is obviously the #1 bad guy in the Narutoverse. No explanation needed. Just his name caused the 4th Shinobi War. Itachi is #2 on this list due to the character depth behind him. I really wouldn’t call Itachi a traditional bad guy at all. He was the scapegoat of the entire Uchiha clan. Orochimaru is one of the greatest villains in the entire series. Straight up evil, macabre, disgusting, inhumane, slimy, a complete and total snake, no pun intended. Kurama was the embodiment of chaos, hatred, and destruction itself. The monster inside of Naruto that cursed him since the day he was born. Kurama was a total baddie later turned into a hero. He always made decisions based on sheer logic. Nagato was engineered to be the villain who thought he was always used his power to do what he thought was best for the world. Kishimoto did a phenomenal job with his character. You felt sorry for him, and you understood him on a personal level. In the end, he was a villain who had empathy, and optimism for the world should he be proven wrong. Sasuke was both, a protagonist and an antagonist at the same time. He isn’t higher on this list because there are wild inconsistencies in his character as a villain, the choices he made… he had his butt saved more often than anyone else, and should have died off hundreds of times over in the fights that he picked. Sasuke was an intellectual, but instinctively, he was a complete idiot. Kabuto, the sad lost puppy who longed for a master, and a purpose. Kabuto being on my greatest villains list is mainly due to his unpredictability of when/where he would emerge and what he would do, and how he was able to do the things he did. Orochimaru brainwashed him well, and Kabuto loved it. Obito was just a generic villain that was pretending to be someone else. He was there to be the bad guy when there was no substitute. His identity as Tobi was almost completely predictable the day he emerged. Danzo only had one objective. Protect Konoha at all costs no matter how dark or evil the method was. He was the village leader to suggest the annihilation of the Uchiha Clan as the best line of defense, why? To protect the village at all costs. Danzo hated the Uchiha clan, and their planned Coup was Danzo’s excuse to implement their demise using the Leaf’s resources. A true badass. Cold, calm, efficient, and precise. Hidan, the free spirited product of the Jashinist cult who achieved true immortality. The wow factor behind his character is why I have him on the list. Untraditional to the point his character and abilities are far more intriguing than the much more recurring Kisame. Kisame was just a powerhouse, but Hidan is completely indestructible, and to this day he is still alive in the hole Shikamaru put him in.
i absolutely love Orochimaru n Zabuza. BUT.. Danzo is the most cruel villain of all. both Frieza n Danzo are really well written villains, they show how cruel (not twisted) the human mind can get.
I have to fully disagree. For me it goes 1 orochimaru 2 danzo 3 nagato 4 zabuza All of them represent the failures of the ninja world and the corrupt within. Madara and obito suck, they poor villains without meaningful motivation, overpower by the author just bc and live on the hype of the mindless fan, but they represent the downfall of late naruto, retcons asspulls and all
Wait, 11:37 what you said was was wrong. There are 5 female villains. Kaguya, Konan, Karin, Tayuya and Kin Tsuchi. Of the hidden sound village. Who's name does start with a K and was extremely important for Sakura as a character.

As an old ass Narutard I would also need to point out that Madara got foreshadowed back in Part 1. I remember back in the day all the forum arguements about who or what could’ve been Madara ever since Kurama droped his name. The speculation and hype for Madara was INSANE back in the day.
I still remember when Edo Madara appeared and people were freaking the fuck out.
me too
his Reveal was godlike Still my favorite character.
I still to this day remember King of Lighting's chapter reviews of Edo Madara and him saying "This man keeps pulls epic shit out of his hat!" or something to that effect.
I can’t imagine the ohhh shit were fucked Naruto is going to get wrecked moment, and i still lost it when he attacked.
@@jonhawk117ohhhh boy kol.
It wasn’t part 1, it was the first scene of part 2.
Nick dropping historical facts in with naruto facts is top tier content lol
He's actually way oversimplified it. The US armed several pre existing insurgency groups to fight an invading Soviet, this wasn't the first time the US or Soviets did that. Fundamentally what caused the falling out was not just asking for weapons. What occured is the moderate rebels as is always the case were overtaken by Islamic radicals thus founding the Taliban. Yet again America bad needs to stop.
“hey man I was on a swing”
shoutout the swing💯
Plus the music.
Gave me chills as a child
No
@@saymos72 Changing nature isn't about him becoming good, It's about him going from being purely self interested to being content watching the progress of someone else.
I agree. Orochimaru is Frieza level to me.
Nagato number one, don’t care about any other argument. Pain is so dope and his reasonings make the most sense on how he got to where he is
Yeah and Obito had ur boyfriend on strings
Nah
@@anthonyhall9335 Yeah and Madara had your simp boyfriend(Obito) on strings
Zabuza should have been top 3. Even though he was here for a short period of time, His arc is what made most of us love Naruto. Not just his power, but the lessons and growth the characters had was what hooked me
Haku and zabuza are still my favorite naruto villains, perfectly introduce the horrors of how messed up the shinobi world is plus still the only talk jutsu that felt legit to me
If Orochimaru was a villain, shouldn't sasuke be one too?
He is a villain. Just not a very good one.
Did you forget Sasuke was declared a terrorist almost the entire Shippuden ?
@@dibyaudhdas1978 yeah and? Kakashi was in everyone's bingo book too (except for leaf village)
@@najeteyy7577 potential threat and officially a terrorist is a different issue.
pardon the tardiness to the response. Sasuke is a antagonist firstly, and a villain second.
Man, having caught up with all of Nick's videos, I was sad because this dude has kinda become my...comfort show? I don't know, it's weird, love the way this dude talks about Naruto 😂 And other anime on his other channel! But he posts almost every other day, so I feel like I'm not missing out! Glad I came over from TikTok man, youre doing great! 🤘🐺🤘
Im sayin bro
The music tho
100% Agree
the voice actor helps alot too.
I cant imagine different voice for him.
Honestly orochimaru should be top 3 such a Legend man he is literally the bar in naruto
Pain is my favorite
da best
I loved kobuto as a kid, but i didn't really know much about him back then. I think it was the chunnin exams fight with kakashi with the cool curved knife
Konan and sasori are my top favorites though have down. I'm in the middle of making a paper angel cosplay. I'm super hyped
My favorite Narutoverse villain ever is Menma, even though he's a filler character from a filler movie. He's my favorite because we finally got the chance to see what Naruto would’ve become if he turned evil.
love this choice
Haven’t watched but that alien Who ruined the GREATEST 2v1 ever should be the worst villain
Personally Nchammer my Favorite Villains in Naruto are Madara Pain and Sasuke.
Sasuke's not a villain. but the other two are A1
Did you just call Sasuke a villain?😅
Orochimaru is easily the best villain in Naruto.
I dont think Madara or any other have trully matched his menacing aura. Orochimaru is a great villain
Kaguya is STILL the best written female character in Naruto even if she's the second worst part of the plot
OROCHIMARU & Zabusa were scary as hell 👀🔥🔥 🐍 he's on my top 3

I always forget it was Raaza who was meant to be at the Chunin exams. I always think it was the one who got turned into a puppet. Sucks Raaza didn't get to see Gaara get his ass whooped.

And then he comes back and helps stop the next big bad (it's like Marara would have helped against Kaguya) while looking even more awesome, still being himself and not becoming a "good guy."
Madara is great, but he'll be 3rd (4th for me because I have Vegeta second behind Aizen) at best behind Aizen and Freeza.
Madara over Pain, Orochimaru, and Danzo is crazy
It is quite literally as based as it gets
Correct*
This is a subjective matter, but I've never understood why cloning is considered bad. In my opinion Orochimaru did flip flop because, as far as I'm aware, he hasn't killed anyone since then. Although it is totally possible that's only because Konoha is monitoring him, until that's shown clearly to us I'm going to
Why the hell are you calling Orochimaru a “they”. He’s a he my dude.
Zabuza is 1 (I can’t spell) and pain is 2 they were PEAK Naruto
Everyone else is just eh and meh including madara
Hot take fight me but I feel like he could of been made better but I’d put him at number 3
The first two you can really relate too and in away you can relate to madara too
Maybe if he actually won it would have been better
Madara wins and Naruto ends that would be great but no they find a way to break out of the genjutsu and continue the series
Some say the show is still in genjutsu but that’s just a cop out excuse
Nick showing his wisdom and understanding of human psyche and geopolitics!
Just prepare yourself for Fox News accusing you of supporting terrorists 😅
I fully agree with you; a freedom fighter is a terrorist to you when you're the oppressor commiting a genocide against them !
Going from most outrageous to least:
After everything Danzo did that he knew about, he basically didn't do anything to him.
The villian turns away
[The music starts to play]
He scoffs, after all, what would he know. He turns back, a tear in the hero's eye
[A picture of a tree with a swing fades in]
Well, what would he know, hes an orphan afterall
[You smash your keyboard repeatedly]
"Don't don't tell me its that fucking swing!"
And all the villagers turned away on him, he even failed the graduation exam 4 time.
[Scene continues, you leave the room]
“Thank god there’s this random snake man that knows edo tensi “😭😭😭😭😂😂😂🤣 This man is the gd best love u nick🤙🏽
Pain is the best villain in naruto. He's the only who pushed and made Naruto question himself.
Gaara almost gave him an identity crisis
Besides Madara, I'd say that Hidan would be in my Top Favorite if we're talking STRICTLY Evil Villans.
Danzo literally created almost every major villain in Naruto. 😂
Obito is also underated with no Obito the story wouldn't be as convincing minito wouldn't of died and naruto would have been a skilled prepy boy like boruto
Let’s get Top 5 filler arcs in Naruto
If Nagato is the epitome of Taliban, then Danzo is the epitome of the CIA in the Cold War.
Should Shizune be a villain?
@@Reaching117 oh I meant as in what’s she doing these days?
Kabuto is so underated I think people forget that Kabuto brought the real threat if no Kabuto then no edo/madara and the war would of ended so quick people love madara so much but you wouldn't of got him without Kabuto. The war would of been very boring without Kabuto
Danzo gave the story a different level of dimension in every aspect.
No danzo knows he is doing bad things he just believes he does it for a good reason
26:12 when you almost blamed nagato's pain on América 😂
Madara the G.O.A.T. across all anime
Fun fact, the chapter cover of chapter 16 has some huge forshadowing. We see team Minato's team photo which has Obito and Rin in it
Pain, Orochimaru & Danzo >> Madara imo
Can't wait to see where Sasuke and Black Zetsu fit on this list. 💀
So glad Orochimaru is on this list, definitely my favorite Naruto villain, I've gotten so many weird looks from fellow Naruto fans for saying Orochimaru is one of my favorite characters.
Danzo is not a better villain than Nagato hell no good video tho
10 Kisame
9 Kid Garaa
8 Zabuza
7 Danzo
6 Obito
5 Itachi (yep he is a villian)
4 Orochimaru
3 Kabuto (personal fav)
2 Madara
1 Pain/Nagato
"...about their fav villain, no one ever brings up Orochimaru"
Lemme tell you something...
@NCHammer23 Have you done a video considering a possible connection between Kurama and the Kurama Clan?
Wouldn't the connection just be they're family?
@@appleboss9742 I mean Kurama the fox and the Kurama Clan.
My list goes something like this. In my opinion, I base by list based on the character individually and the weight they carried throughout the series playing bad guy.
1. Madara
2. Itachi
3. Orochimaru
4. Kurama
5. Nagato
6. Sasuke
7. Kabuto
8. Obito
9. Danzo
10. Hidan
Madara is obviously the #1 bad guy in the Narutoverse.
For me it goes
1 orochimaru
2 danzo
3 nagato
4 zabuza
All of them represent the failures of the ninja world and the corrupt within.
Madara and obito suck, they poor villains without meaningful motivation, overpower by the author just bc and live on the hype of the mindless fan, but they represent the downfall of late naruto, retcons asspulls and all
Nagato objectively played a big role in the war because he told Itachi where Kabuto was.
Wait, 11:37 what you said was was wrong. There are 5 female villains. Kaguya, Konan, Karin, Tayuya and Kin Tsuchi. Of the hidden sound village. Who's name does start with a K and was extremely important for Sakura as a character.
Chunin-Exams Gaara will forever be my favorite villain of Naruto.
It was extremely refreshing to see a purely psychotic and homicidal monster with no underlying motivations
So im just gonna assume that hashirama wood style if Immune to fire cause the man was fighting madara with WOOD. People try to make the argument or ofc its gonna burn in cross verse fights and shit but like AHEM MADARA AINT BURN THAT SHIT...AMATERASU AINT BURN THAT SHIT WHEN IT WAS IN GATE FORM ON TOP THE 10 TAILS.
The 5 Kage: "It's only fair that we go 5v1"
Madara: "And i took that personally"
Bro Madara literally got brought back to life with all the hacks and buffs that made him better than he ever was and then they piled up more hacks and buffs on him because if he were brought back just in his prime he would’ve still lost to Hashirama. Still yet here we are hyping this character up like he was that dude. HE IS THE EPITOME OF BEING SUCH A SORE LOSER HE HAD TO INPUT CHEAT CODES TO WIN…… and he still lost 😂😂😂😂
Lol I was hoping you'd bring some real life politics into this after hinting at it, like four lines in a row. The American armed the Taliban line killed me. Lmaoo 😂😂
Hiruzen should’ve been on this list for sure
