How would you personally rank the different Gotei 13 captains in BLEACH?
I'm sorry but Kensei should only be above Iba, Isani, and maybe Lisa. His fighting style and his appearance character design wise is cool but the dude sucks he's not fast like the second squad captain so there's no way he is beating her he doesn't have the best techniques or anything to compensate for his super close range fighting style which is why every battle we have seen him in he has lost and didn't even put up a good showing for someone of his caliber being a captain Soi Fong being able to keep up with and put up a decent fight against the former second division captain I don't know how to spell her name is a better showing than anything he has ever done not to mention him fighting against the second espada would have been way worse and more humiliating than Soi Fong .
The Original Gotei 13 Captains, other past captains, ZSquad Zero and the normal captains in Bleach Anime before TYBW are the strongest ones and in TYBW Vaizards they are stong of corse, but the weakest captains in my opinion. Would you make a tier-list video about of Bleach Liutnentas Ranked weakest to strongest next pls? 😊❤
So I love your videos but I'm going to disagree with you greatly on this list You mentioned a bunch of weaknesses and drawbacks of several characters like shinji and how his Bankai works, The former kenpachi with his 6-month cooling period as well as Rose being his own worst enemy by being dramatic yet you put Toshio over Byakuya and Yuroichi? You are aware that in order for him to use his full power and his matured Bankai he needs to be completely exhausted right? That is probably the biggest drawback on this list because as powerful as they are he would never make it to being exhausted they would defeat him long before he got to use his mature bun guy especially Byakuya who now knows how it works after seeing it in the final arc additionally they are way more skilled and experienced than he is overall this list is okay but there are several defects some characters you gave more leeway while some you kind of piled on with the reasons as to why they are ranked low without doing the same thing for others.
Additionally if we are to take the second squad captain who was able to almost keep up in speed with the previous second squad captain during the soul society arc we can say that the current 2nd division captain is much faster than the 10th division captain that being said what are the chances of him surviving fighting her with His Bankai vs her Shiki and flash cry? They have comparable spiritual pressure there will be no way he would ever make it to his mature Bankai fighting against her he would lose.
@@SasukeY2JItachi even without his adult form he was able to fight gerard and freeze him somewhat, he also no diffed cang du with bankai so he would survive long enough to go into adult form and would then freeze byakuya and kill him
Unohana was robbed of her spotlight. i really hate how she was largely used as a plot device for zaraki's sake
She was fridged to give him a power up. It's lazy writing.
@@WUZLE She deserved better, I hope at least she gets resurrected at some point
Unohana was quite literally a weaker Kenpachi who could only heal as her only other skill. She was the only one who could bring out Kenpachis true strength without him AND her dying until it was done. She fulfilled her role.
The only loss is having someone there who could heal more soldiers. But otherwise the fighting strength would have just been weaker.
@@lillith7257 That's a lot of words to say "We wrote this so we could fridge a woman character to motivate/buff a male one." This is a particularly bad example of fridging since she didn't get to fight a single bad guy before it happened. And an extremely powerful healer would have been a great thing to have in the upcoming battle even if she never drew her sword.
@@WUZLE nah you're just braindead. The old guard gave way to the new guard, the gotei was stagnant Yachiru wasn't even a peak healer, Kirinji, Kisuke and Orihime outclass her.
I think the Gotei 13 at the beginning of soul society arc was the most formidable. Aizen, Gin and Tosen were particularly exceptional and they still had Unohana who was one of the best healer recorded.
Yes Aizen, Gin, Tousen and Unohana are the strongest ones defienitily Aizen and Gin the most!
@@Leopez02 Aizen and Gin were amongst the most talented. The line up with two-arms Yamamoto, Mayuri, Zaraki, Shunsui, ect. Seems to be the most potent.
@@Grayson-Winchester yes they have the most potent defienitily Gin
Tousen is underpowered imo. Kubo should have made him more powerful.
Lets imagine Tousen, Gin and Aizen were fighting the Quicy alongside the GOTEI 13. Aizen and Gin would be sending the Sternritters back to Yhwach in bodybags. Tousen would likely not be able to beat most of the Sternritters 1 v 1..
@@panthekirb7561 it's sad what happened to Tousen and Gin
I don’t think people realize how impressive yorouichi, Ishin and Urahara are. While Kyoraku got speed blitzed by base Aizen, an evolved Aizen admitted that the three of them would have beat him with their combined attack if he wasn’t fused with the hogyoku.
Aizen wasn't actually trying as he wanted to test how hogyoku would react on him getting hurt, the moment he got serious he oneshoted all 3 of them lmfao
He didn't even used kyoka suigetsu
@_Ghost_HD_ aizen did not used kyoya suigetsu because he thought that urahara already might have counter for kyoka suigetsu so it would be pointless to use it against him.
and urahara knew weakness of ks that it will not affect you if you dont see his shikai release
What you don’t realize is that Shunsui got defeated easy because Aizen used Kyoka Suigetsu against him, and you are also forgetting Shunsui was already drained and hurt from his fight with Starrk, the Primera Espada, and he also couldn’t use his Bankai in there.
Had Aizen used Kyoka Suigetsu against Yoruichi or Isshin they would’ve been blitzed same as others, he didn’t use it against them for two reasons that were already mentioned by others in here: (1) he was testing his early Hyogoku powers and (2) Kisuke could’ve prepared a counter against it.
Your analysis is flawed in gauging the accurate character’s strength because it were two completely different scenarios, and you also omitted some facts in there.
@@cans597 shunsui easily defeated stark.
he was dumb to attack aizen again and again without thinking about kyoka suigetsu, which proves his less battle iq and iq. His bankai would be useless against aizen because he is immortal, which is the same reason why urahara didn't used his bankai against aizen
i agree shunsui is one of strongest shinigami but he can't defeat tricky peoples like aizen, urahara, mayuri , shinji.
When you really think about it, theres so many details Kubo wasn't able to include. Thats incredibly depressing
Not a surprise, kubo terrible writer. So many plot holes and inconsistencies

@@stopdropandroll Nah, Kubo had so much ideas About Bleach in his Mind when he Started it but due to his illness during TYBW arc Made him Rush the Ending and Thats why He hinted Hell Arc. Bleach Story has not Ended Yet.
Isane should honestly be higher than Iba; Iba himself stated he wasn’t captain material while Isane performed her divisions specialty in healing especially in TYBW taking command after Unohana’s death and keep Kensei/Rose alive and some other healing demonstrations; we recently got confirmation of Isane’s Shikai “Itegumo” to be an ice/snow type zanpakutō with a healing ability while we know nothing about Iba’s shikai; also it was stated that Iba couldn’t become the lieutenant of squad 11 and so he changed squads to squad 7 and he had a draw with Ikkaku who lost to a significantly weaker Ichigo; Isane got one shot by Ichigo; however, Ichigo was strong enough to destroy Getsuburi and also one shot Sasakibe who was stated to have been captain level already; either ways both don’t have any battle contribution but Isane has just demonstrated more than him
Yeah, Iba said that, but he's also very hard on himself, so it's difficult to say if that's true or not.
Chojiro was never Captain level. His Bankai was what was special and gave him the capacity to step up and become a Captain if he wanted, but he obviously never did. Chojiro is like Arrancar Arc Renji in that he's Vice-Captain level but with 2,000 years to perfect said Bankai.
Why getting a draw agasint ikkaku would be an antifeat tho? If anything it proves hes better. Wasnt ikkaku literally captain level? He was being considered to substitute and had a Bankai before any of them. And ikkaku also complimented him saying he was versatile knew a bunch of abilties etc
She would lose a 1v1 versus him
@@oilalalabla9211 i mean it would just prove their base captain level and not much else. Ikkaku's bankai is literally the worst in the entire series. it's pure power with no other skills. it's power isn't even Espada level.
@@lillith7257 but the bottom 2 have zero feats so being base captain level is better than nothing
Solid list. Theres always going to be arguements you can make for characters to be moved up or switched around but overall pretty damn solid list bro! I did have to laugh when you mentioned countering Aizen with Reiatsu, because even Yhwach was manipulated by it.
I respect the list but without much bias, i think Byakuya should be either right below or in Toushirou's spot theres a reason he's in line to be the next head captain and while his manga showings have him needing help with the strongest of enemies, hes probably one of the only captains in or rather should be in top 10 that doesnt have a single thing in the line of being over powered, hes skill incarnate, no hacks or broken abilities in the slightest and can more than hold his own.
I agree he should be right below toshiro. But where does it says he's next in line to be head captain?
Byakuya is about 7 and Toshiro should be above Mayuri.
Isshin is way too high in this list along with Shinji being way too low.
Bro did Byakuya Dirty 😂
Byakuya has always been kind of overrated by his fans. He's a strong character but not as strong as some people make him to be. He's a strong mid tier captain/character.
Byakuya literally went toe to toe with the mc, currently he is probably top 4 captain i@@nakazatelen141
It doesn't make any sense to rank Ukitake above Byakuya. His sickness is who he is. Since the beginning of the main story. He should be near the bottom.
Yh he doesn't get his spotlight but i would bet my money on ukitake being stronger. Byakya's cards have been layed on the table from near the beginning, ukitake's bankai is still an mystery. His shikai is also one of the most intersting types, as seen with hims battle against stark. I would say that he is better, just that he is ill so he can't show it much. Also he was trained with shunshui, they must be near about equalish in strength imo since they go hand in hand and have compatibility with one another. Also he is the only other duel bladed zanpakto, he's definately a rare one and has a lot of potential, especially with the way he 'died'
@mikhilpatel8680 should we not rank him on how he consistently/normally performs?
Even when he is prepared for battle, he fails badly. Literally, nothing else matters. He is not strong for a captain.
Byakuya should be higher but Ukitake is very powerful according to yama
@distanthope9153 I understand that Ukitake would be top 10 if he wasn't sick, but unfortunately, he is sick. And it's not a temporary de-buff. It's part of his character. So, unfortunately, he is weak for a captain. Legitimately, everyone reacted to Wonderweiss's speed except a battle-ready Ukitake.
@@kagelynx Byakuya reached those levels post RG. And CYFOW supports this. He is comparable to Shunsui and Yoruichi which makes him around the same tier as the Older Captains .
Byakuya should by higher than gin. Theres no way he would still be weaker than him in TYBW. Plus, shunshi even said the next head captain after him would be Byakuya. Thats should speak volume of his power and skills
It speaks volumes about byakuyas leadership, not power and skills, but ye, he should be higher than gin
@@Blackmustache870 power and skills should also be a factor. We haven't seen any leadership from byakuya at all, but we know he arguably the most skilled captain when it comes to kido. Also, he is the most skilled captain when it comes to flash step after soi fon
@@simpgod2170 yes we do, he's the most lvl headed in battle of the remaining captains, he values soul society customs and doesn't mind making it known. Who else would be more suited than him from a leadership standpoint? Shinji, the guy who won't shut up abt his abilities? Zaraki, who literally can't lead?
So to put things in perspective, when ichigo first arrived to the soul society with minimal experience he beat bya. Gin easily stop ichigo in hollow form their first encounter
@@casinojay9540 that was over a year ago. Everyone had 17+ months worth of training since then and byakuya trained with squad 0. Heck renji with shikai alone is already stronger than bankai kensei and we all know byakuya is still stronger than renji
I'm sure that with a little more tutoring and training by Yoruichi, Soifon may be able to shine in the future. Yoruichi will also teach Soifon more humility and patience, she's already made strides to disarm the extremely cruel and dehumanizing effects of Squad 2 training to moderate her personality.
I hate how Kubo treat Soifon. She has pretty badass shikai ability. But Kubo using Aizen make her ability obsolete.
She at first admitted that she doesn't like her bankai, because it's not fit to her style of fight, and then she keeps spamming bankai after that like she is Hitsugaya lol. She should fight more like her mentor and using her strength.
I disagree. Her Bankai fits her perfectly. Consider this, Soifon has a two hit kill technique and as far as I remember has never cast a bakudo to take advantage of this. Instead she increases her speed so she can hit you twice in the same spot. Part of that is because if her infatuation? with Yoruichi but the rest is an ego thing. Her having a loud, destructive Bankai simply reveals her true nature.
Bro youre so wrong about Byakuya. Very bad reasoning.
this list in general is terrible, Soi Fon weakest Captain not counting the 3 new captains after TYBW? her Shikai is so strong she can kill you with 2 hits. she could kill many captains with that ability

DBZimran, amazing content dude
I would switch Yamaji and Kenpachi
Yamamoto is an overrated character
@@Dante49218underrated by most
I do think so. In my opinion Shikai Zaraki can be above shikai yama, as I see Yama having no way to deal with Gremmy's meteor in shikai. His bankai on the other hand is a different game altogether, ZnT might be the biggest boost in stats or capabilities among any other bankai. I don't see zaraki's nameless bankai no-selling or getting through all the flames.
@@johanmelis12 We have different concepts underestimating Zaraki's powers already has a lot of reatsu In the bank, he has even more And no matter how strong Yamamoto is, he is not at Zaraki's level
@@presixnine In my head I always put Zaraki in the same tier as Yama, where either of them could win, it would only depend on who swings his sword first. In terms of brute strengh and reiatsu I see Zaraki having the upperhand, but Yama could probably still incinerate him with his bankai, although I don't know what to think if they clashed swords. Like, who wins between a sword that cuts through anything and another that erases anything ?
I respect the list, I’m just not really in agreement with the Byakuya placement. I think he should have been ranked a fair bit higher.
Exactly. Byakuya at the beginning of the hell arc is one of the most powerful beings in the bleach universe
Byakuya is literally him, the only living captains giving a run for his money are Kyoraku and Zaraki. He would have a very evenly matched fight against Kyoraku until he starts fighting dirty which unlike Byakuya he has no qualms about doing and that would secure him the victory... Zaraki simply overpowers him after a prolonged struggle unless Byakuya can survive long enough for his own bankai to turn against him. Outside of those two, every other captain including Toshiro simply gets out-skilled, out-sped, or out-smarted
This is the comment I was looking for.
Nah I agree with Byakuya’s placement cause he is basically at his max power .Cause the way I see it if any of the peaple who are ranked above him go to the royal palace and trained they would wash him
@@lanohuncho1045 But they didn’t. Byakuya should be around where Gin and Toshiro are.
i think soi fon is above all the visoreds. She had significant battles and moments in the series compared to all of the visoreds combined
Nah kubo never showed her love he made her face yoruichi a thunder Goddess, Barragan King of hueco mundo, and a robot
@@TheDBLANCHARD thats the point. she is not strong like kyoraku, kenpachi, byakuya, toshiro but kubo made her face tough opponents like barragan as if she’s on their level instead of making her a support type captain just like the visords who lost everytime they battle
She literally got saved by a Visored, Hachi
@@letsgooochannel8370 he definitely failed at creating a assassin
@@kitkat6959 yes but that doesn’t mean his stronger than him
Soifon definitely deserves to be above at least all the visord captains( beyond Shinji). Her strength often gets overlooked due to constantly being matched up against people who counter her abilities perfectly but realistically that just goes to show how lethal her arsenal is, she could've killed Barragan with her Bankai if he didn't age it in time, she could've killed BG9 with her shikai and Shunko if he wasn't made of steel and she was pretty much on par with a SS arc Yoruichi before they whipped out their trumps. Soifon is lethal and I see her as a bigger threat than the likes of Kensei and Love with the majority of opponents( Rose is more debateable seeing as his bankai is just that good).
Soi-Fon could have obliterated BG9 with just Shunko but only if she had let BG9 kill Omeada and his sister. If she'd gone for the head rather than catch all those bullets and then destroy his gun, BG9 would have died then and there.
Ironically, she got messed up so bad because she ignored the code of the Stealth Force and saved her subordinate rather than use that opening to eliminate the enemy
@@corruptangel6793I’m a huge Soi Fon fan, but it’s debatable if she could one shot BG9 if she went for the head. He’s a robot after all and was able to move around with a massive hole in his chest and head. So even if she was able to rip his head off or twist it 180 degrees, he might just be able to survive it regardless. The 180 head twist I’m almost certain.
Ripping the head off is another questionable thing. He was able to take a direct punch to the face with no visible damage. Even if she could, it wouldn’t surprise me if he just picked it up off the ground with his probes and reattach it somehow.
Soifon above Shinji is wild. I am a Shinji stan for a reason.
Soifon couldn't do a single thing alone. Shinji could've taken out Grimmjow, who's a rank 6 espada. Grimmjow was struggling with masked Shinji. Sure, he hadn't activated his Resureccion but Shinji hadn't even activated Shikai, let alone Bankai if he needed to fight multiple arrancar alone. Shinji could theoretically fight all 10 espada at once or at least the top 3 since Stark would slaughter the other two under Shinji's Bankai. Shinji has only lost to Shikai Aizen and bambietta due to it being a bad matchup and Shinji unable to use Bankai around other Shinigami AND not using a mask. I don't see how soifon could compete aside from her speed which becomes useless under his Shikai
@@jackinthecube I said "beyond Shinji", meaning every Visord except him 😅

"Gerard's power had been negated by Hitsugaya's ice"
What??? Hitsugaya nullifies abilities, hax, not power. Byakuya desintegrated Gerard's entire head while toshiro froze the body, and that was a vollstanding POST bankai zaraki gerard.
It was a team attack, why the f people give all the credit to hitsugaya? Lmfao
Furthermore he later even goes and casually blocks an attack from light form gerard, the dude is in that tier of power.
Really infuriating how much Byakuya is downplayed holy sh*t.
Byakuya snuck in and attacked an already weakened and immobile gerard. Believe it or not, being frozen to the core damages a lot more than just losing abilities.
Byakuya destroyed a frozen statue, not that big of a feat.
@@Blackmustache870 Reread. The entire head wasn't frozen AT ALL, let alone "to Its core".
@pepeelghetto1231 u reread. In one panel, we literally see the tattoos of gerard not frozen on his BODY. It's intriguing to view Urahara's Shikai and Bankai As *Construction* and *Reconstruction*
Nah putting soifon below love and kensei is insane I have her above all the vizards actually… and byakuya has always been portrayed to be relative with kenpachi having him lower than ukitake and gin is wild… and finally youruichi isshin and Urahara are like the sannin of bleach and are all relative. They were all able to damage Aizen in base. If anything isshin is laking as he never went up against anyone in tybw (except white… but like…)
Soifon is not above Shinji.
@ soifon would speed blitz and two shot him. Doesn’t even need shikai. Probably shunko would be enough. And even if he gets his shikai off she’ll just blow him up with her bankai. Mid diff. Yall act like shinji has any feats against captain level characters. Soifon pre powerups was keeping up with and at time over powering youruichi who’s stated to be the fastest soul reaper multiple times
The Problem is her Reiatsu. Visoreds' Reiatsu Scale higher Than Soi fon
Gin was always my favorite. Seriously underrated
Disagreed with Soi Fon being that low. In ss arc she was able to constantly tag Yoruichi, the same Yoruichi who's faster than Byakuya while she was carrying Ichigo. Yoruichi was capable of piercing Ichigo's stomach with her hand, Ichigo was stated to have captain lvl reiatsu by Ukitake.
She was able to hold her own against Baraggan despite having a disadvantage, Baraggan being able to slow things down that get near him and make them age, putting Soi Fon at the disadvantage in the fight especially considering that she's a close ranged fighter, and making her shikai useless against Baraggan. She was able to damage Baraggan with her bankai while having some help in the fight with Hachigen (forcing Baraggan to take her bankai head on)
She gets another unfair fight against BG9, BG9 being able to get tagged from her shikai without actually getting affected by it. I believe Soi Fon did speedblitz BG9 during the second fight, but he's just too durable
Beautifully said. Soi Fon gets a bad rep and it’s honestly annoying that everyone seems to be unable to actually look at her fights and see just how much Kubo stacked the odds against her practically handicapping her abilities.
She never cast bakudo despite having a two hit kill technique.
lol bro really trying to minimise Hachi's involvement to make Soi Fon look better.
@@bishopofeternity48 She cast Bakudo #30: Shitotsu Sansen against Ggio Vega with no incantation, plus Shunko _is_ a kido technique. She is likely able to use some of the mid-high level Bakudo above that like #61: Rikujōkōrō or #63:Sajosabaku without incantation but just chooses not to. It would not have done her any good vs many of her opponents TBH since they were either immune to shikai/kido or they were fast enough to dodge Bakudo (Yorucihi).
@DiamonDust Actually forgot about that. That actually makes it worse, though, since she CAN cast it but chooses not to. Even a second or two can basically guarantee her two hit kill against non broken characters. As for shunko, while it is a kido based technique, it still primarily enhances her physical capabilities more than anything, which just enhances her ego based fighting style. Her role as an "assassin", her zanpakuto being a precision based two-hit kill, and her fighting style just don't mesh very well.
I cannot be the only one that is sick and tired of hearing the up-and-coming hell arc, the up-and-coming hell arc, the up-and-coming hell arc, the up-and-coming hell arc when there has literally been no verification whatsoever from Kubo or anyone in his camp about it!

Man to me at least hins shikai and bankai are kinda broken. One stab and you die? And the fastest zanpakuto.. that's a deadly combination
Kuruyashikis 6 month cooldown period post-Bankai reminds of Shisui Uchiha from Naruto and his 10 year cooldown between uses of Kotoamatsukami. Kubo and Kishi knew they had to put some kind of shackles on abilities that busted lol
This'll be fun
I will put Kyoraku at number 3.Especially if this is list for 1v1 fights.I agree that Urahara and Kenpachi are better in most scenarios cause Shunsuis Bankai can't be used when allies are around.
That’s exactly my argument. Kenpachi and Kisuke have no way of defeating Shunsui
@clips9294 I get why people put them above.Kyoraku mostly uses shikai due to his Bankai being so dangerous.Shikai Kyoraku is not match for Kenpachi or Urahara(Bankai). But in real 1v1 scenario they are automatically defeated if Kyoraku uses Bankai from the beginning. He managed to "kill" a being like Barro who scales way above Kenpachi and Urahara.Barro survived due his immortality and even tho he was deemed as undamagable with physical attacks Shunsuis bankai managed to inflict pain and damage to him forcing him to turn to that other immortal form

4:02 For a medical position, I think a cool way to spin an ice type ability would be to look at it from a point of stasis. Everything is still and calm in a cloud of snow. From that perspective she could slow people and things down to a point where she is “freezing them in time”. From a medical perspective this would allow her to immediately stabilise the critically injured. From a combat perspective, locking someone’s condition (not allowing them to power up/move to shikai or bankai) or just outright preventing them from moving from a current position while in the cloud would be incredibly powerful if used right
Having Kisuke above Shunsui is unbelievable

His ranking is justified
Soi Fon is criminally underrated. Now I don't know her ranking by the end of the series cos power levels sort of get fucked up during the TYBW arc, but let's say among the original Gotei 13 in the SS arc I would easily put her on the same level as Ichimaru and Byakuya, i.e. mid-tier. Shunpo, hakuda, two-shot kill Shikai, super destructive Bankai, and then Shunpo. Like, how can you even put her at 23??? She even held her own against opponents like Yoruichi and Baraggan.
And she fought against Yoruichi in SS arc. I think she is above Kensei and Rose at the very least
Exactly. And to make it even better, she can actually combo 3 of those using them at the same time. She can simultaneously use her shikai and Shunko at the same time. Her shunpo technique such as cloning and the multiple other can also be used. Imagine 15 Shunko+shikia Soi Fon coming at you from multiple angles. This is legitimately something she is capable of doing, but Kubo never let us see it because he puts her in the worst match ups.
finally someone who doesnt talk down Soi Fon, lets goo. my girl is very strong her Shikai is so strong she can kill you with 2 hits. she could kill many captains with that ability
She has a two hit kill technique and doesn't use bakudo.

It’s weird that the vizords never hollowfy in the TYBW arc even though hollows are like kryptonite to quincies
i think its because it is considered a "taboo" if they used hollow powers, under Yamamoto's regime before he died. However i think that Shunsui shouldve given the Vizored captains a go signal to hollowfy, since Shunsui is open to using underhanded methods during that war such as *freeing Aizen*
I get this feeling that if Kubo continued the Hell Arc, we'll see Gin and Tousen again in hell too on the way to pacify Yama, Retsu and Jushiro.

I will never forgive Kubo for giving us one of the coolest entrances in Kensei with Mask just to be a punching bag...
A ranking of "all" captains (some like Ginrei left out for obvious reasons) is interesting, although I disagree on some things, like Gin and Toshiro in the top10, as well as some placements below, also it would make more sense for characters like Tosen and Gin to consider them only when they were captains. The strongest 5 are that, but I would list them in different order 👺🌸🍭👓🔥
The reason they don't use their masks along with their bankais is because it was said that using your bankai while having a mask on shortens the time they can use it by a LOT. So if they used both their mask and bankai, they'd have to finish the fight in 10 seconds or so, since they couldn't have used it for longer.

Yes, gin is really really strong but people usually forget why gin was able to hurt Aizen and it's not only because he caught him by surprise but also because Aizen had lowered his rishi. Remember that at the point when he was fighting Ishin, yoruichi and urahara they stoped being able to feel his reiatsu but ichigos friends could when he got to karakura town
Byakuya > Gin, Yoruichi, Unohana, Ukitake and Mayuri
Not Unohana
In CFYOW, Byakuya, Shunsui and Yoruichi are all around the same Reiatsu ballpark. Byakuya is that strong naturally while Toshiro needs to wait to even reach that form. He’s not lasting against Byakuya, Zaraki or Shunsui without it and even with it, it used up so much stamina that he needed Byakuya to finish Gerard who was unaffected by Toshiro’s abilities. Unohana even stated that Ichigo and Byakuya were Kenpachi’s true rivals. So post RG and CYFOW Byakuya along with Hell arc is above her.

remember when Kensei Muguruma was teaching Hisagi bankai he told him central 46 banned them from using the hollow masks but since captain kurotsuchi evened the balance of the realms by killing 28000 rukongai citizens that there was no one in the rukongai to see why they went there to train
Byakuya in the context of the story is clearly meant to be a close competitor of Kenny and Toshiro in the final showdown with Gerard, just like when the 2 faced Espada 0. He experienced similiar training to the others and was a way higher base then Rukia and Renji before squad zero training. This just isn't a take that is likely true within the story imo too big a gap between elite next gen captains at a time when everyone had gotten a neat vague power up.
My problem with using the 1000 year war as a metric is that most sterns had very gimmicky powers. For example, Renji defeating mask felt very unearned after all mask did.
That seriously felt like Kubo overhyping renji’s new bankai. He did too much.
4:10 I still don’t understand what the point of bringing this up is. Putting Isane this low because she has no combat feats while being the captain of a healing division. Why are basing her combat ability instead all the people she kept alive during the arc. Nobody is asking the 4th division to fight

@@ZiickTml The issue with Mayuri is that by the end of the series he's more or less a walking bullshit machine, and no matter how ridiculous the explanation Mr. Kubo will more or less find some way to write him defeating whomever he's up against. As for Toshiro, while his adult form is very powerful, it also needs to be considered that it takes a considerable amount of time for him to reach that state, and even then his all-freezing ice is still clearly shown to have limitations (as Gerard broke free of it even through his entire body had been frozen), so much like any other hax ability it still seems to be limited by his & his opponent's respective Reiatsu. Shunsui did state that in 100 years Toshiro would probably surpass him though, which I see as foreshadowing of Toshiro's adult form as that is what his "base" likely will be by then, instead of his Bankai prematurely forcing him into that state.

@@pepeelghetto1231 what do u mean by schultzstaffel
The Vizard captains aren't really able to use Bankai and their masks without wearing themselves out faster. It's stated early on when they're introduced that just having the mask on is taxing for them, but fighting with the mask on reduces the time they're able to use the mask and after it shatters they're basically left depleted. Then it's implied using bankai shortens the time by a lot more so it's not ideal to use the mask and bankai.
The reason a lot of visored's didn't use their mask when in bankai is due to them losing control of themselves if they do. I believe it was explained as well when ichigo stopped doing it down the line as well, might be wrong though but its what I remember reading about
Ichigo is the only one who can use both of them are the same time because zangetsu is his hollow and his hollows name
For most of the visored, I feel the concern is the inner hollow overtaking their zanpakuto.(though this theory was derived back before the reveal about White for Ichigo.) For Ichigo, there isn't the same concern because his zanpakuto derives from the inner hollow.
im just sad that we couldnt see more gin development even though to be fair his story perfect and it was a great plot twist at the time .

I love that you tackled this list the way you did. I disagree with some of the placements, but I’m really happy with some others.
I think the list is spot on until Unohana. I think you underrate Unohana and Ukitake tremendously, while I think you overrate Hitsugaya and Shunsui in equal measure.
Unohana is second only to Yamamoto throughout the entire story until her death. That’s including pre-Hogyoku Aizen.
Ukitake is absolutely on par with Shunsui. It is true that what we see of Ukitake is disappointing, but the narrative makes it clear that Ukitake is extremely powerful. His swordsmanship is likened to art and his ability to negate attacks with his shikai is very potent in a world filled with powerful abilities. There’s also the distinct possibility that the presence of Mimihagi within him affords him power in a way few others could have. That’s just a theory but I think that it’s worth considering.
Hitsugaya’s adult form bankai is absurdly powerful but it has a lot of caveats to it that hold it back. Most of all, it can be entirely negated by there presence of a powerful flame zanpakuto like Ryujin Jakka. It is also restricted to the prerequisite time limit for his immature bankai to tick down to the upgraded form. It’s just not enough to make up for the limitations unless others can buy him time.
Shunsui is just tremendously overrated by the fandom. He is very powerful but his bankai, in particular, is just not that useful. It’s dangerous to his allies and it’s dangerous to himself. If he enters Act 3 - Dangyo’s Abyss - against an enemy that can outlast his reiatsu, he’s finished. It doesn’t matter if he’s a better fighter or more tactical or anything else. His bankai can work against him in a way that nobody else’s does.
Lastly - Aizen needs to be considered with and without the Hogyoku. It stands to reason that ANY Shinigami with enough willpower could become the most powerful if they have the Hogyoku. It’s just disingenuous to assume the Hogyoku IS Aizen. It isn’t. And, with that in mind… pre-Hogyoku Aizen is just an above-average Shinigami. He used his shikai to manipulate the other Shinigami into perceiving him as more powerful than he was, which was pretty much told to us when Isane and Unohana confronted him in Central 46. He relies more on his cunning and deception as a Shinigami than he does as an ascended being with the Hogyoku. And that’s because he knows that he doesn’t have the requisite strength to overcome other more powerful captains at the time - such as Unohana, Yamamoto, Shunsui, Ukitake, Isshin, and possibly even some others.
Aizen AFTER merging with the Hogyoku is undoubtedly the strongest Shinigami captain alive or possibly ever, and it’s not even a discussion.
I would make the top 10:
Yamamoto
Kenny (unsealed)
Unohana
Urahara
Isshin
Shunsui
Ukitake
Aizen (pre Hogyoku)
Gin
Yoruichi
I agree with Ukitake. By far his most underrated fight was Pernida. The dude fought and survived a 1v1 with a Schutzstaffel. He wasn't even critically wounded. Not to mention his fight with Yamamoto in the SS arc. People like to say Yamamoto was holding back, but he does say that Ukitake and Shunsui weren't getting away with a mere thrashing, so even if he wasn't going all out, he wasn't playing around either.
Toshiro's immature Bankai can't work with Yamamoto's Bankai. His mature form, however, is no longer limited to merely controlling and freezing the moisture in the air.
Base Aizen is NOT mid-tier. This was a key plot point in his fight with the Captains. He casually blitzed Shunsui, Soi-Fon, Shinji, and Toshiro simultaneously and dismissed ALL of them as weak and how they were nothing but openings. And this was AFTER he undid Kyoka Suigetsu. Gin even has a whole monologue about how monstrous his power is and that thinking Kyoka Suigetsu was the only thing that made him frightening was a gross misunderstanding of his strength. Just flexing his reiatsu a bit was able to force Grimmjow to his knees and then of course there's him tanking Hado 96 from Yamamoto head on and barely getting singed. All BEFORE the Hogyoku began to awaken.
"I can feel it. My powers, which were already unparalleled within the Soul Society, are beginning to reach even greater heights.

Ishin fight with aizen at the beginning at least, didn't fight aizen to exhaustion.
It was clearly stated that Aizen was weakened and at his limit because he was literally transforming mid fight. And no, not at limit meaning fight at full strength.
Huh? That isn't what happened. Isshin takes note of the fact that Aizen was tiring and had begun to slow down considerably, and Aizen agreed that he had reached his limit before transforming further. That transformation bailed him out basically. Your interpretation doesn't match what the characters actually said. Aizen had already taken damage from Yamamoto, Shinji, Ichigo, and taken down a bunch of captains while using KS tho so it's not like Isshin can be proven to be stronger than Aizen. At the very least they seem relative though, which is more than enough to scale Isshin to incredible heights.
@DiamonDust Okay so you're just wrong.
Ishin: You're getting slower and slower.
Aizen : I'm at my limit, looks like the will of the hogyoku is finally beginning to understand my desires.
He then later says "Thanks to Urahara last attack, Hogyoku launched it's real power.
And then LITERALLY starts to transforms.
Which supports what I said, he's slowing because he's going to transform, not because he couldn't beat or was exhausted by ishin.
And don't talk about the fight with the others, he no diffed everyone of them in one strike, and was barely even harmed from yama's attack. And did you even watch him fight ishin? Man's literally was unharmed 😭 the damage ishin did was less than yama's which by the way only scratched and dirtied Aizen clothes.
You can't tell me that he's RELATIVE or even equal in strength 😭 only kisuke sealing kido that would've killed Aizen had it not been for the Hogyoku was a real threat to his life.

There is zero causality being established between him reaching his limit and the hogyoku awakening, that is just your own headcanon. Aizen is saying that he has indeed reached his own limit. However, he can surpass those limits as a soul reaper by tapping into another source of power that he will receive from the Hogyoku. The Hogyoku finally awakened more fully within him, so he can begin his transformation and does not need to rely on soul reaper powers anymore like before. Nowhere does it say the hogyoku itself is what drained his shinigami powers, you're just making that up from thin air.
Aizen even says the phrase "finally beginning", which implies that he had been waiting for the hogyoku to actually start awakening the entire time but nothing was happening until that moment. Aizen would have noticed that it was the hogyoku was draining his powers, and he would not say "finally beginning" if it had been actively draining his shingami powers before that point. In that case, it would have "begun" long before that.
He also said "my soul is being replaced", and "being" denotes present tense. He didn't say past tense phrases like "my soul has been in the process of being replaced" or "my soul has been replaced". You need to read more closely.
"Thanks to Urahara last attack, Hogyoku launched it's real power." Where tf does he ever say this? Prove it, give the manga chapter and page. He does not say this or anything close to this.
I know you must be some Aizen glazer fanboy, but even Aizen can get tired and has limits. As a soul reaper. Aizen looked visibly frustrated after being hit by Yama's Itto Kaso, which suggests that it did actually damage him in a substantial way. Ichigo also landed a big hit on him. Shinji landed some slashes on him. Cutting down captains in one or two blows takes a lot of reitasu output, and therefore reiatsu/reiryoku to accomplish. It is not something Aizen can do infinitely, even though he makes it looked easy.
These things add up to overall exhaustion and lots of expended reiatsu/reiryoku, and even though the Hogyoku was restoring his wounds that does not mean it comes for free. He had not yet fully awakened his fusion with the Hogyoku yet, first off. His soul reaper powers are still fueling all of his abilities. The Hogyoku simply draws out potential, it is not like some energy source all on its own. So even when the hogyoku is healing his wounds, it has to be drawing that power from his soul reaper powers - aka his reiryoku pool. That changes after he becomes fully fused, and his power becomes transcendent in nature beyond soul reaper or hollow (allegedly, cause I am not fully convinced that it was not just a hollow related power). At that point his limit as a soul reaper and the exhaustion he has is obviously gone, or at least greatly diminished to the point of being irrelevant.
Aizen was not going to have any scratches or anything on him... did you not see the hogyoku repair his wound when Ichigo cut his chest open? Looking for visible outer damage makes zero sense. It is his stamina and reiryoku that are "taking damage" by being taxed by the hogyoku to heal him. You're also conveniently ignoring the fact that Isshin has zero regen unlike Aizen, and yet there was not a visible scratch on him. They are relative for sure, you're just way too biased for Aizen to see it.
Now you are talking about Kisuke's sealing kido which makes you a fool, because I was never saying that Isshin was relative to hogyoku awakened Aizen. That is obviously not true, since he literally lost to him in the 3 vs 1. Aizen powerspiked immensely there.

His bankai is so immense, he dries up all the water in [maybe] all of soul society. He is capable of all fighting forms and techniques and has way more experience and reiatsu. He's so broken that Aizen had to modify an arrancar (who might have been high rank) specifically to deal with his zanpakutou. That's cos of all in gotei 13, he was the only one who could defeat him. Him saying he doesn’t know why the visored use their powers in unison, even though they clearly state none of them can activate Bankai and hollowfication at the same time for more than a few seconds, which Ichigo manages to do for a few minutes as he has far more reiatsu than the visored
Azashiro above Byakuya and Yoruichi?? He's a pre muken zaraki victim lol, literally 0 schutzstaffel scaling.
Even though Shinji's bankai seems "useless" unless alone against a large number of enemies, you forget that he can do pretty much the same thing with just his shikai, hollowfied and actually being serious, there's less to no chance most of the opponents would be able to even touch him, even in between ranked much above him. And you didn't even mention his greatest moment in "can't fear your own world" where he single handedly took on the massive amount of enemies (which btw could even reproduce hundreds in an instant) which most of the others would have simply die to exhaustion continuously being tremendously outnumbered.
So, Mayuri is like the batman of the Gotei 13 captains with prep time and contigency plans

These lists are subjective, I explain my reasoning for the placements. You need to counter it with your own reasoning for your opinion.
@@DBZimran yeah I understand that but like she is strong even if you look at soul society how she was able to keep up with Yuroichi And then getting stronger from there she gets paired up with bad matchups like the second espada Kensei would have done much worse against the second espada than she did
would like to add that unohana has already killed zaraki multiple times and was only reviving him just so he could become stronger everytime he was revived
tbh, mixing her shikai with her hakudo would make her such a top tier combatant.
Soi Fon is legitimately such a dangerous and powerful captain. Only problem is Kubo goes out his way to give her opponents that counter her combat style. Barragan’s time powers made it impossible for her to get into a close combat fight which is her bread and butter. BG9’s heavy robotic exo armor acted in a similar manner making close hand to hand combat ineffective. Thus taking her shikai and Shunko again. She just never gets good fights that show off her full capabilities because Kubo takes them away.
I will say that at least surrounding the vizard and arrancar arc, it was stated that the vizards couldn’t operate with both their mask on and using bankai as it was too taxing, even keeping it on for too long was. Ichigo was solely unique in how long he was able to fight with his mask and in his bankai state (despite it not being his true bankai). Its pretty possible that all vizards dont use their bankai along their masks because the only one we've seen doing that is ichigo and it is due to its enormous amount of reiatsu, a resource the other vizards dont have, this would make sense since lisa and mashiro while training him were amazed about his capability to mantain both transformations along

I think all 3 fighting Gerald were meant to be seen as equals, most times in anime team attacks like that are meant to be seen that way. Also I would bump Shunsui above any current captain, his shikai is equal to most characters bankais and his bankai is a garenteed kill on anyone who isn’t immortal. I know TYBW didn’t do him justice, but Shinji is actually insane, he is just a mini Aizen. A little nitpick but I think Soi Fon should go down one spot too, she hates her bankai and is overal immature and in Bleach your strength is determined by maturity + relationship with your blade so considering she has neither she is likely the weakest that we know the power set of. Last and a bit contraversal on my end but I’d bump down base Aizen a few spots. Everything else looks good
Adult Toshiro needed Byakuya for damage. They were on par with each other along with Zaraki. Byakuya has statements that place him even higher than Adult Toshiro. And child Toshiro is his true form so he needs to wait to grow up. 😂
@@rkvlegacy9206 no he didn't, it's the other way around, byakuya was getting his attacks swatted away like nothing before toshiro froze him, obviously when someone is frozen it's easy to finish them off
Kenpachi couldn’t even beat gerard by himself shunsui basically solod the strongest sternriter… be fr… also being called kenpachi doesn’t mean you’re stronger than the captain commander :) switch shunsui with kenpachi and 8.5/10 list
@@JoeyGiles-g4g shunsui couldn't beat lille barro by himself he needed nanao
this video should be what YOU think the breket looks like
It should, because there's no definitive raking by kubo
Byakuya is Disrespected in the Manga he's easily top 7 if only Kubo focus on him more in TYBW and CFYOW
Top 7 captians for sho. In the verse cap af
@esteviajero it depends tho...in the verse he's in my top 15....for example in bleach verse....quincies are more powerful than the captains....they have far more hax than anyone....but of course kubo's plot always goes into killing the bad guys.....for example ...gremmy should have no problem dealing with kenpachi.....Pernida solos everyone but he got paired with his natural enemy mayuri ....and still mayuri got badly hurt and lost someone.....another example....robert accutrone being able to toe to toe with shunsui and got shunsui's eyes but still got one shoted by byakuya's bankai which byakuya didnt even need.....byakuya is underrated af i just want kubo to bring him justice in the anime ...he's one of the top 15 strongest.....and literally on par with kenpachi but lots of people forgot about it....they're basically yin and yang
In defense of the Vizards its been said that using thier Hollow Masks and Bankai at the same time is too exhausting for them. In a war setting where its fight after fight, using the masks with bankai will just cause them to lose. Ichigo is the only exception to this for obvious reasons. As for why they didn't use shikai with hollow mask, my headcanon is that their bankai are strong than hollowfied shikai.
What tf is this ranking?😭😭😭you don’t even know how to rank
This list is crazy.... from top to bottom... crazy
Byakuya at 14 lmao. How tf are gin, jushiro, yoruichi, hitsugaya, mayuri, unohana above him?
Well Jushiro is just explicitly said to be above him
unohana will slaughter him
Byakuya is my favorite. But he’d get clapped by unohana, mayuri is a genius, yoruichi toshiro and ukitake are a valid question. Toshiro isn’t fully grown yet.
@@doctorata3338 The same Unohana that scales above awakened Base unpatched Zaraki at best if we're being generous? What's this clownfest?
@@bucnasty3761 You guys sure should pass what you're smoking around. Unohana ain't clapping any of the RG-trained crew aside from perhaps Rukia whose feats aren't all that. You've got freaking Renji having somewhat competitive showdowns with VS1 Uryu and are out here speaking of Unohana clapping Byakuya despite the clear uptick in scaling since that Muken fight lmao.
I love your list…
I would just flip Hitsugaya and Mayuri, Kyouraku and Urahara & Kenpachi and Aizen with Yamamoto
Keny is probably stronger than yama but i think yama would win in a fight even if yama is a stubborn old man
Am i tripping?
The thing is that Kenny was stated to be more powerfull than Yamamoto as a fighter in cfyow. He's the closest to Ichigo and Aizen's level. Yama is nowhere near that.
@@yuma1133 The thing is, CFYOW is not to be trusted when it comes to powerscaling. CFYOW implies Kenpachi is on the level of two transcendent beings in Ichigo and Aizen, you (not you specifically) must be the biggest idiot in the world if you read that and your eyebrow doesn't raise in utter confusion at that implication. CFYOW says Ginjo's enraged Getsuga Tenshou was rivalled Ichigo's strongest (which would be the one that killed Yhwach), the novel is just ridiculous from a powerscaling perspective.
Kenpachi does not go from weaker than Yamamoto to way stronger than him and competing with transcendent beings in only 6 months. That's just stupid.
@@ANDSTONE100 CFYOW can be fully trusted, it was all co written and validated by Kubo and confirmed to be 100% canon. What's in it can be surprising at first, but it's all logic once you reflect on it.
For Kenpachi's powerlevel, it's not that confusing when you take into account SAFWY and the way his character is written overall. Remember that he was already stronger than Unohana as a child, and Unohana is only a little step under Yamamoto and base Aizen. After getting back to his childhood powerlevel in only 3 days of "training", it would be strange if he wouldn't grow exponentially from there, now that he's much older. The speed of his growth isn't stupid, he was already forbidden form training after only one day with Yama by central 46 because they thought no one (including Yama) could stop him if he decided to rebel, and just look at Ichigo's growth speed. The fact that he became that strong so fast isn't strange, what's confusing is that we don't know what make his potential so high. That's when come all the theories about him being related to Hell (either by being a Hell hybrid or by coming straight up from Hell) and/or having soul king's throat/lungs.
For Ginjo, I admit I raised my eyebrow in utter confusion when I learned about this attack. But after thinking about it, I found it logic as well. First Ginjo was already stronger than most captains before being killed. He has transcendant potential due to him being a hybrid, and can access this potential more freely since he's a soul. And even if he's for now one of the weakest transcendental being we know of, he's still transcendent and a potential SK vessel. Second, spiritual pressure can fluctuate a lot based on one's emotional state, and Ginjo was particularly pissed at Tokinada, that's why he spiritual pressure spiked at this moment because even if he's still weaker than Ichigo, Aizen or Zaraki, he has a similar kind of potential, and was able to tap into it thanks to his rage.
@@yuma1133 And regarding your defence of Kenpachi's writing, there's been no statements of Unohana being only a little under Yamamoto. We have no idea exactly what their gap is but what we do know is Unohana is weaker and the manga makes it quite clear that Yamamoto is by far the strongest (at the point before his death) in the Gotei 13. Yhwach even states that the original Gotei 13 were nothing but killers that could only be kept under control by Yamamoto. Also regarding Central 46, they forbade Yamamoto from teaching him Kenpachi, you believe they thought even Yamamoto couldn't stop him (they're not the best judge of strength). But an angle you're not looking at is the temperament angle, Kenpachi's nature is chaotic and that of a bull, maybe Central 46 were afraid of him being a formidable opponent if he were to go rogue after gaining more power because of his uncontrollable nature? Just a thought.
I'm sorry, man, there's just no way Kenpachi goes from being a very powerful Shinigami to a transcendent-like being in the space of 6 months because he trained with his Bankai. At this point in time, Kenpachi is a pure Shinigami and in no universe should he EVER be on the same pedestal as actual transcendent beings like Ichigo and Aizen, who are beyond being a singular race. That is just pure wanking from Narita.
@@ANDSTONE100 Bro how could that be pure wanking from Narita if Kubo co wrote it, reviewed it and validated it as 100% canon ? I already said it, all of it is valid whatever we think of its logic. Just because you don't understand it yet doesn't mean that it makes no sense. I'll go more in depth to try to explain to you.
For Unohana, there are tons of things that shows her level, i'll name what I think are some of the main ones:
- We know that she's twice as strong as almost any other captain that existed from club outside or databook.
- Kuruyashiki, the 7th kenpachi, was stated to be as strong as a zero division member, and that man was afraid of Unohana's strength.
- Back in the arrancar arc, she strongly implied that she could kill Aizen if she wasn't affected by kyoka suigetsu when talking with Ichigo.
- We know that Zaraki, when removing at least a majority of his shackles, is vasto lorde Ichigo level from SAFWY. This is several times Yammy's power, and that's a power level that is starting to be close to base Aizen's level. Unohana matched and even killed this Zaraki several times during their battle in muken.
So yes Unohana is clearly in the realm of Aizen and Yamamoto in fighting strength, but she's still a bit under them overall mostly because their zanpakuto's abilities are more potent.
Yhwach's statement doesn't go against my claim, and for central 46, it was just to add to the validity of his growth speed. But even Aizen didn't want to fight him before fusing with the hogyoku because he knew about his shackles and true strength.
So with this, we know that Kenpachi as a child (a child so far from his full potential) was already in the realm of Yamamoto fighting strength wise. He would've obviously lost to Yama's flames at that time, but the spiritual and the physical power was already there. He doesn't goes from only a very powerfull shinigami to a transcendent-like being, he starts by regaining his base child strength (no potential developed) which is already in the realm of the strongest pure shinigamis ever. Then he develop from there by training with shikai, not even bankai from what we know.
Man the time isn't a problem at all, Ichigo literaly goes from a teenager in high school to a transcendent being in under 9 months and complete the dangai training to go from peak captain level to transcendent level in under 3 months, so a way faster growth than Zaraki.
You talk about how it should or shouldn't be, i'm telling you what IS. You don't see the logic because you know it shouldn't be possible to reach such height for a pure shinigami like Zaraki, and you're right. I mean even Ichibei was astonished that such a shinigami could exist.
But with Kenpachi not having a clear origin and being now canonically transcendent, don't you think it's more logic to think he's actually more than a pure shinigami to justify his crazy potential rather than saying Kubo and Narita's work isn't consistent, when it actually is ?
Again that's when come the theories about Zaraki being Hell related or/and having soul king's throat. Because he can't be this strong without an external factor like this, with how works Bleach laws. And there are tons of hints and arguments to support those theories.
Amazing video!! The only change i would make on the list is to place yamamoto above zaraki not just as the second most powerful shinigami captain but as a truncsendant being that ever lived purely out of experience and thousands of years of training plus the unreal destructive power of his zanpakuto compared to the most simple melee type of zaraki's. As for their reatsu level i would say they were pretty close but yamamoto has far superior reatsu control over zaraki due to his millennial experience...!
