3 Easy Godfather-Inspired Cocktails to Make at Home

- Today at Booze On The Rocks, we make the Godfather, Godmother, and Godchild cocktails. I call these the Godfather trilogy cocktails as the movies inspire them. All three of these cocktails have two ingredients each, and all have Amaretto. The difference is that the leading spirits are swapped between blended scotch, vodka, and brandy. Try them and let me know what you think.

GODFATHER
1.5 oz/45 ml Blended Scotch
.5 oz/15 ml Amaretto Liqueur
GODMOTHER
1.5 oz/45 ml Vodka
.5 oz/15 ml Amaretto Liqueur
GODCHILD
1.5 oz/45 ml Brandy
.5 oz/15 ml Amaretto Liqueur
Method
1. Add all of the ingrients to the mixing glass.
2. Stir with ice for 25 seconds.
3. Straininto a rocks glass over fresh ice.

TIM!! I admit I do like almonds but the Godfather is a huge fave!! I do a 5:1 ratio so scotch stands out nicely without being too almonds and sweet! You might like it! The Brandy variation looks lovely!! Happy weekend my friend!! I hope u r super well!!

The 1rst Godfather is one of my " go-to " cocktails.. I've used single malt and blended malt Scotch and it's absolutely AMAZING! I've used a cask strength Bourbon as well and it's really good as well! Great job again David.. I can't wait to make the other 2!

You could also have done orange based cocktails 🍊....
as Coppola stategically placed oranges in the scenes that a character was in imminent danger 💥
ie Brando was shot by the fruit stand, had an orange peel in his mouth while playing with his grandson (died), also there were some xmas oranges on the table at the lake house before Fredo got whacked 🍊

I love The Godfather in a 5:1 ratio! Delicious! Otherwise it's too sweet! I use a single malt! For me this beauty has to be good scotch and Disaronno (spelling?!)! Love it! Nice video! Cheers! 🙂

That is an interesting idea. I know you can swap in Bourbon and it works really well.
Might want to check your recipe card , I sent a picture of it to my wife and she made a red tail instead 😂 It was pretty good though

Thanks David! I would probably use Monkey Shoulder 🐒🐒🐒 Blended Malt Scotch whisky for any cocktail that requires Scotch Whisky. I'm not saying that a Single Malt is no good, but the purpose is different. Blended whisky was made for cocktails and you don't break the bank 😂
Monkey Shoulder is a great blended whisky. Unfortunately, I did not have enough in the bottle to use it.

As much as I love Disaronno, I'll probably lower its proportion because I fear it will cover the taste of the scotch.
That is fair. Cut it down to a quarter and build up from there.
For me, I’d do the opposite….i don’t like the taste of scotch….

Those were tasty I prefer the Godfather… less sweet more potent, maybe my hand slipped a little and was a little closer to 2 oz then 1.5

I’d probably like the godmother and god child…but not the godfather. I don’t care for scotch…well most whiskeys for that matter…I do like Crown, though
That would be an interesting combo. But I think you might need to lower the amount if you were to use crown.
