How to make The Blues Brothers' famous Orange Whip

- Today on Booze On The Rocks we make The Orange Whip cocktail from the Blues Brothers movie is a simple low ABV adult Orange Julius. John Candy ordered three of these in the film, and they are worth it. The Vodka and rum mix with the orange juice and heavy cream to give you a perfect frothy cocktail. ORANGE WHIP
1 oz/30 ml White Rum
1 oz/30 ml Vodka
.5 oz/15 ml Cointreau
4 oz/120 ml Orange Juice
2 oz/60 ml Heavy Cream
Method
1. Add all of the ingredients to the shaker tin.
2. Shake with ice for 8-10 seconds.
3. Free pour intoa Pint Glass.
4. Garnish with an Orange We=dge

remember seeing the movie in the theater in 1980 (and many times on TV since). Belushi and Aykroyd were red hot then, coming off of Saturday Night Live where they performed a few times as the Blues Brothers. Seem to remember, at the time. the Blues Brothers movie was the most expensive movie ever made. Going to make this cocktail for sure!

And I know I’d enjoy it… just watched an obscure Dan aykryd move, sneakers, last night… I need a cocktail for my mom and my mother in law for Sunday… they don’t want spirit forward cocktails that I enjoy… tiki are too strong… I have heavy cream, I have orange juice…. I think this is the Sunday dinner cocktail…

Ya know you can fix that low ABV problem with a bit of 100 proof vodka. I bet the drink would benefit from a 1/4 pour of Grand Marnier.

You might have to drink this fast. But it did not curdle, When you shake it it gioes nice anf frothy,
