Wilson, my beloved I wonder if Vinny knows that you absolutely could have left Wilson behind at that elevator where he says Thank you a dozen times, and the game’s story would have genuinely changed to reflect this change. And, actually, the developers of this mod went INSANE accounting for every possible playstyle. Bad Cop and/or Wilson have optional, missable dialogue to account for every possible decision, including leaving your car behind and just leaving, or taking Wilson with you in an area he said not to.

Seeing charred decaying corpses of rebels and potentially already long deceased test subjects in Aperture Science which is usually pretty clean is way more terrifying than it has any right to be.
I went and played both Entropy: Zero 1 and 2 after Vinny’s first stream and I absolutely recommend playing through both of them. P.S. Bringing Wilson with you everywhere you can is fun, he has little conversations with you. : )

Fun seeing Vinny back in the Half-Life universe goofing about! BTW a little QoL thing they did in EZ2 over vanilla HL2: Not only can you carry stuff and sprint at the same time, and you can kick doors open while carrying stuff, so you don't have to drop Wilson to then interact with the door to then pick up Wilson again.
1:00:30 I noclipped onto that boat cuz I was also super curious - sorry, nothing. Just a decoration. Also, Vinny - if wilson asks you to leave him behind to open a door, don't! There's one section where he says he'll 'be a while' but it's never clear when he's done and you can fall down a point of no return without it really being clear.
I think you're talking about the start of Apprehension, the only sneaky annoying fakeout door, you can open it yourself from the other side and I can see that it's meant so that you can focus on combat for a bit before returning to get Wilson, but it's really easy to miss the button to open the door when you drop down there.
Yeah, I really loved this mod but I had to reload around 5 minutes of progress like 2-3 times cause this happened to me, could definitely be communicated better.
I only had that happen to me once and reloaded my save pretty easy. You might miss an extra dialogue blurb or two but generally when Wilson says that it means "this next section would be super annoying to bring Wilson with, you'll loop back around soon." Just as long as you don't forget you have a Wilson GPU on your HUD. I wish all escort quests in every game ever had that.
I'm so glad I randomly popped into Vinny's stream of this game when I did. The Aperture crossover, returning enemies, cheesy dialogue and now borealis really make up for all the good ideas that Valve abandoned. It's not the Half Life 3 that was hyped up for 15 years, but it is the Half Life 3 we should've gotten 15 years ago.
You sum it up perfectly. I legit feel like Entropy Zero 1 and 2 could've been sold as official expansions for Half-Life 2 in the same vein as Blue Shift and Opposing Force. Hell, if someone introduced me to both with no context and claimed that they _were_ unreleased expansions, I'd probably believe it.
A detail you missed in the Aperture anti-gravity test chamber bit, , the origin of the "Aperture Science High-Energy Pellet." Reverse-engineered from the combine AR2 ammo, But the combine wouldn't invade for years.... 1:15:24

I love games that have weird time field shenanigans such as this. One of the reasons why the Lanayru Desert and their dungeons in Skyward Sword are some of my favorite levels in videogames.
Oh, you didn't get nearly as far as I thought, so I'll go ahead and post this comment ~and feel dumb when you inevitably discover it in the last 20 minutes i have left in the video--~ Smaller enemies like Headcrabs, Crawling Zombies, and Baby Bullsquids can all be one-shot by your kick. It saves on ammo *and* produces some pretty great ragdolls. Edit: Also, in case you didn't notice, the headcrabs that you find via Xen Relay Grenades and in the facility following the first sighting of the Zomgaunts are more like HL1 headcrabs, as if i'm not mistaken, both types exist in the mod. These ones have the tiny eyes around the front legs, are lighter in color, more bulbous, and have a different mouth.
Whenever something like an area with increased flow of time or whatever shows up in something like a game or a book, my first thought is always that you’d make a killing producing alcohol
I'm currently playing this mod myself and later watching Vinny play. I have noticed that he misses a lot content and references which is sad, this mod is a labour of love.
Ticket scalping is easily fixed: in Japan a lot of tickets are bound to an account that is tied to your cell phone that has to have a contracted phone number/data and often times you have to register your face photo and your face is on the ticket. And you can only show the ticket on an app on your physical phone. Also typically tickets for big events are sold via lottery to make it more fair for everyone. Also theres no ticketmasker here(unless there are foreign bands that use it) that company is an absolutle scam, you just buy tickets from the official ticket selling sites at a REAL price.
Playing through this and going "goddamn, how do I mod this into the base game, this kick is amazing!" actually got me to play SMOD. Loving it, though I'm torn between turning down this kick to more sane levels and absolutely enjoying how it renders enemies into a fine paste.

If you want another game with good kick function, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is great. It was Arkane's 2nd game, the same dev who made Dishonored and Prey.

It's a shame that the rebel radio-dispatch guy is the least effective voice-acting in this game by far For such a high-production mod, it's odd that we still get a little of that "22-year-old Finnish guy who probably modeled a few weapons insists on voice-acting an adult American man" sourcemod jank (if the VA reads this, I think you did a solid job especially compared to the usual sourcemod fare, it's probably an issue with casting and direction)
