True. People for some reason like to ignore that regulations can have an impact on how a vehicle is designed. It's the reason why the E60 is the only generation of M5 with a V10.
This was a great video and I agree with all of your points. What disappoints me is the interior, the weight, and the power. Per the website, this new M5 will tip the scales at a whopping 5,390lbs. The M5 has always been known as the ultimate driving machine in terms of performance, handling, and luxury but with the previous generation F90 LCI weighing in at 4370 lbs, I hope that the handling doesn’t suffer. Next is the interior. I understand that in today’s age technology and convenience are a priority but it seems the luxury brands are taking advantage of this to cost cut and create lower grade interiors. The new M5 has none of the touch points and switch gear that differentiate this from a Kia. I am also disappointed with the power since although the new generation makes more power, it suffers from a decrease its power to weight will likely result in decrease in performance. All that being said, I hope BMW finds its way.
The general car-buying public, even for these "performance" brands, does not have the faintest idea how much a car weighs; they ignore power-to-weight and just see the horsepower figure. This is a testament to the fact, that with twin turbos the norm, you need only up the boost to gain impressive HP figures. It's cheap, and it's easy to market. Reducing weight takes engineering and costs development dollars. Thus, it is ignored by the manufacturers, resulting in the truly ludicrous weight of this car. (they are not the only ones) No doubt BMW will come out with a special, which will cost 10 K more and reduce the weight by 80 pounds. With their serviceability issues, their excess weight (and price), it seems that BMW has decided we are all ignorant and will buy any "product" they put out there. Signed, former M3, M5 owner.
It's the M5. Not M5 competition or M5 CS The V8 is 585hp, previous M5 engine was 635hp. The engine is clearly detuned to 585hp to save the 635hp for the M5 competition. Infact it might get boosted to 650hp. So the competition will be 777hp - 800hp. Then there's the CS model which is likely to be more

Nothing since then has been interesting...seems like they just slap turbos on an existing engine along with some M badging and call it good (and of course each new model always weighs more than the last) :/
BMW is trying really hard to lose sales… they started to get lazy with the M cars with the 2015 MY and has been going down hill design and engines wise ever since…
So weird, it's like Cadillac and BMW switched philosophies...I think I'll be targeting a MY25 CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package as my next car instead of another M. I don't need the greater luxury and weight of the M, I just want a daily driver I can take to the track on occasions.
Hmm... Isn't there a tax credit for vehicles over 5000 pounds, for companies. Tons of people buy or lease through a business or LLC. I first heard that in a conversation about the popularity of the G-wagon, which is also over 5k. It could be bs though I did not research it lol
Most of the reviews from those that have not driven this car are negative. Most of the reviews of those that have actually driven the car are positive. Just an observation
id like the luxury in the m5, i prefer it that way. its what an m5 was always about a luxury sport car that can be a daily driver. im happy its not light and doesnt just add carbon fiber everywhere with some sports seats. my criticism would be against the weight and performance.

Amg is now v6 or 4cylinder so all this talk is nonsense bmw is out selling mercedes by alot so ask everyone why they would buy a bmw over a amg and when bmw was the first car that had the engine sound inside everyone hated that so whats the point of this whole video
They have to save some improvements for the LCI (2028) M5. I have a LCI F90 M5 and will wait to see how the LCI model is going to look and perform. PS The car probably has close to 800hp since BMW does not give the true numbers.
BMW be holding back on us....and something's up. They claimed the 2025 M2 was upgraded to 47xHP. Also a lie as the M2 has been putting down 47xHP on the dyno since it's inception. I think the ECU maps are written differently to limit power output so not to undermine the status of the M3, there's also woefully less options for customizing available.....just to incentivize a "better" car; because the M3 MUST go faster and be better dressed than the "lesser"? I tjink What we need from it is more low end kick and a better MT6 option.

@@Rando-hg7uu tons of cars have electric motors and are way lighter.
BMW is trying really hard to lose sales… they started to get lazy with the M cars with the 2015 MY and has been going down hill design and engines wise ever since…
The previous gen looked really good and was pretty fast
717 horsepower and your complaining? why fix something that wasnt broken? the 4.4 twin turbo is a great engine
No ones complaining about the power, we're complaining about the enormous weight
@@muhammadsiam431 because all people want to do is complain
I would say get a ZO6 instead but it does seem they haven’t worked out the computer kinks yet
Soooo when do we get the Vegas Boysss?? 😂
First time I actually find myself agreeing with you
5:18 spoken well.
At 5400 lbs no amount of driver aids are gonna help you when that heft wants to throw you in a ditch
So weird, it's like Cadillac and BMW switched philosophies...I think I'll be targeting a MY25 CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package as my next car instead of another M. I don't need the greater luxury and weight of the M, I just want a daily driver I can take to the track on occasions.
It’s an adopted m5. The e60 was ugly af too but at least the v10 gave it character.
If I could I would buy it anyways
This kid is comparing a reputable BMW to his Tesla 😭 a FUCKING TESLA!
Next 5 months you buy this car
Couldn’t agree more about the M5….what a let down..there isn’t going to be a competition either which is a double disgrace 😳😎
M5 CS was the last good m5
@@carlosrieum1526 without a shadow of doubt. Even the new M2 is a better option than the new M5 😎
Won’t the competition model have more power ? My guess would be 760-790hp range
Interesting edit to a different review
Looks aside, ppl fail to realize how impressive it is that they added half a ton in weight and only lost .2 seconds & made the most powerful m5 ever
Which is funny cause the v8 power was tuned down meaning that the G90 realistically could've been as fast as the cs.
Who asked them to add a ton in weight?
@@bto7779 bmw themselves
@@bto7779 they didn’t choose to. ev batteries are heavy, that’s simply it
@@ii_dynasty the m5 remains to be the benchmark. Once tuners get the g90 I bet you’ll see it doing crazy things that’ll drop your jaw
id like the luxury in the m5, i prefer it that way. its what an m5 was always about a luxury sport car that can be a daily driver. im happy its not light and doesnt just add carbon fiber everywhere with some sports seats. my criticism would be against the weight and performance.
BMW's gone... An M2 that looks like it just came out of a 3D Printer, The M3 and its Mouse Tooth grill, & a dumptruck of an M5. Sad when the most likeable newer M car is a 2020 X3m for me.
400kg extra weight for 25mile range battery 💀
Parker, you need another E63 als a daily!
The one he drove is still the newest one
How did bmw make the m5 the same weight as a F-250 that has a bed and a towing capacity for 120k starting I better be able to to hook a 44 foot gooseneck to the back of it ( edit its 700 lb heavier than a hummer h3 )
Your talking about bmw but your driving a tesla doesn’t make sense
Good choice. Dude all the new uber blacks are now the new m5
Toooo heavyyyyyy. Shame…
Right?? Ugh
How did it get 1000lbs more obese?
One man's meat .... Personally i like it !
And the nail in the coffin: reliability, or mkre precisely, the lack of.
All nonsense the new m5 is faster and drive better than the old m5, the c63 is faster than the e63 so nothing mercedes makes can compare with a bmw M. Amg is now v6 or 4cylinder so all this talk is nonsense bmw is out selling mercedes by alot so ask everyone why they would buy a bmw over a amg and when bmw was the first car that had the engine sound inside everyone hated that so whats the point of this whole video
The new M5 is SLOWER than the old one. It will not handle better with how much more it weighs
I tjink
What we need from it is more low end kick and a better MT6 option.
The front face and headlight looks so stupid
If u wanna see what really looks stupid just look in the mirror
agreed, looks like a random EV model
I think so too
Agree with you on all points. BMW f'd this up massively.
I'm someone who wants to go EV, but I'm taking the F90 LCI over the G90.
M5 CS is where it all ended
I love M5, but unfortunately NOT this version😢
Why not get a 2021 version bud
fr or the 2022 M5 CS
@@carlosrieum1526 preach it heck call Archie and have him order you one lol 😂 family discount
@@robervin9107 lol
Ugh, man this is spot and and so depressing... I was soooo ready to get the new M5. Been driving M5s for 10+ years and now don't know what I'll do next. Electric cars are too lame.
Now i see why this channel is done with because when you can praise a hyundai and tell oeople a bmw m5 is no good and a tesla looks better we all know you've lost your mind bro!! 😂😂😂😂😅😅
This particular Hyundai is good though. I’m not saying Hyundai is better than bmw or that EVs are all that great. These are just my opinions
Don't compare bwm V8 with a vacuum cleaner.😂😂
7:45 bro ran that 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Big fan, Parker.
Riding Tesla and talking about BMW M5
Bmw has lost their way, I’ve been given up, and went back to Lexus.
I don’t think it’s meant for track performance.
BMW is trying too hard. They're trying to be everything at once
