I was not a fan of the G87 M2 when it was released. But seeing it in the flesh I absolutely love how wide and aggressive it is. And some of the kits you can get are the icing on the top 👌

If your stats are correct about weight and power, then the new G90 is heavier 570 kg than F90, which means that it has just under 300 hp per ton, while the old regular M5 (pre LCI with 600 hp) has almost 320 hp per ton. And when you run out of battery, then it gets much worse. I honestly dont see how this car can be a faster or better handling car than the previous gen.
That air duct thing on the side skirt you mentioned, it’s the welcome carpet light isn’t it? The added side skirt will just block the light I reckon… maybe I’m wrong, but worth checking I guess. The front and rear design is fire, love it.

Some people hate bmw for having so manny different styles but i prefere it over the audi and merc moddels where the small and big models just look like they just rescaled them. A lot of people have a different model they like and hate in the bmw range but i love personally that they keep doing different creative stuff just for the love of the car design. For the people that complain about how heavy it is and so on. I'm in Belgium and with our co2 regulations this is one of the only big sports cars that make sens as a company car becouse of the mind blowing 38g/km co2 emissions with a wopping 727hp. This beast is made to be sold a lot and i think they had a really good look at the options from other manufacturers and the regulations for the Eu

@12:00 the black rectangle under the front doors are projectors for the puddle lights. Also, the small light between the rear diffusers is the reversing light. Personally I really like the look of the new M5.
I dont think anyone was saying anything about its looks. It looks alright, and in M performance it does look even better, what everyone was solely complaining about is that its an unbeliavable 450kg (1000 pounds) heavier, like whaaaat. That is just absurd, for scale its almost as the weight of an X5M SUV, a full on "M sportscar" sedan, its just plain crazy.
I think it looks great. The weight pf the m2 and looks really put me off but i quickly warmed to the looks and the weight isnt felt at all. The car feels darty and quick on its feet. This M5 looked real sharp from the of. Will be very easy to make it look amazing.

And I hope so much someone rips the battery out and makes it an V8 only, just for fun. :) I know that would be an hell of a project because the whole drivetrain and all of the electronics have been built to work as one hybrid-system, but it would still be amazing to see it with >300kg less. The G99 Touring will also be very, very exciting - by it looks it's even better, I think. Similar to the M3 Touring a stunning car. But yeah... a widebody-kit would make it an Cyberpunk-Panzer.
It's not ugly at all I'm a BMW E60 M5 guy which is arguably the most beautiful M5 ever but the new M5 is not ugly , also people complaining about weight the M5 was never meant to be a track car it's supposed to be an executive car that just happens to be faster than the rest of it's lineup so weight literally doesn't matter one single bit
I believe BMW has engineered this thing so much so to really hide the weight and surprise those who push the heck out of it..just here eagerly waiting til the press finally get them in their hands to do just that and have it blow everyone away!!

The car needed a buff wheel arch design to look aggressive, but yeah people will grow to like this design, same as with what they dead with the beaver teeth kidney grills.
i think the regular 5 series with the new gen looks phenomenal imo but this new m5 as far as like design look especially the front makes it look like a 5 year old drawn it and the mom put it on the fridge
BMW had no way of winning everyone over. It was either pull a mercedes and take away the v8 and have everyone cry about no v8 or keep the heavy v8 and EV motor and have everyone complain about weight. I think I like their choice. As long as it drives good.

People freak out about the look of every m/// car……me included. Bmw has yet to make a bad looking m3 or m5, which is really the nucleus of the m/// division . I just hate the “plug in”aspect. Plugging in your car is just so not sport car like . When I see a tesla driver, I just assume they are someone I wouldn’t hang out with. I drove the m340i at Spartanburg SC(bmw school) which is a mild hybrid . It is no g80 m3 but I really enjoyed the car and it didn’t feel as if I was driving an electric vehicle. Plug in was too far in my opinion .
I wouldn’t say it looks ugly at all it’s the first M car in years that actually looks decent out the box. The G series M2/M3/M4 are pig ugly compared to this and their predecessors. I feared for the future of M cars after they butchered the new M2 and gave the M3/M4 that horrible pig nose front end but the new M5 gives us hope. Shame about the weight but it will no doubt crush all its rivals

If you didn’t know, that black part at the front of the stock side skirt is a projector for the floor animations when the car turns on!

this is a different amount of weight. this thing is as heavy as a GLE mercedes or X5M. the m2 is only slightly heavier than the old m2

Saw the yellow car in Munich BMW the other day. The front upper grill is not good at all, the light portion is ok but its so big and gaping.
The rear diffuser is split so you can fit a tow bar
In my opinion the new M5 is still better looking then the current M3
