- In today's very special video, I take delivery of my dream car, an SRT (Dodge) Viper GTS! With the help of friends and family, I wanted to give everyone an in-depth look into what the experience was like!
Earlier this year, as many of you who follow me on social media know, I sold my Dodge Charger RT and Chevrolet Avalanche. I knew, regardless of what I was going to purchase later in the year, that I wanted to step out of the box and buy something that truly fit me and my love for traditional American sports cars. The Viper was it, hands down. After all, with a N/A 8.4L V10 (640 hp/600 lb/ft torque) and a 6-speed manual transmission, you can't get much more old school! After considering all of the new generation domestic muscle/sports cars, I decided I wanted something a bit more raw, less practical and perhaps a little crazy! I've always been the one to buy the practical cars, not anymore I suppose =) Aside from showing you all what it was like to go through this whole process, emotions included, I also wanted to extend sincere gratitude for everyone that has subscribed to this channel over the years. Allowing me to produce my in-depth reviews for a living is truly a blessing. This is just the beginning of all of the incredible cars to be featured on this channel in the long run. I really try to like Shmee,he's one of few car enthusiasts that actually knows his shit about them unlike other cars youtubers who're like "Hey nigguhs what's up? Here look at my 2018 XXXX supercar" and the only thing he does is rev it up in a street full of people,then wrap it and chip tune it,then he sells it after 2 weeks with 200milles on it (or cook a fucking egg on the engine bay of your Huracan).But then that's where i have my problem with Shmee,he's like "Hello guys i bought this shit,that shit and this other shit,all in blue",sure he doesn't brag about them as much as others,but then you see that he barely drives them but forget about taking them to a track,showing the underbody of the car or keep them for more than 3 months

I'm just so, so proud of this guy. I watched him back when he had just the Saab this was well before the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. To see what you have done with your life is amazing, you are an inspiration to many. Also, smart on you for buying pre-owned and getting the most bang for your buck versus buying new, which I'm sure you clearly could have afforded but made the right financial decision. Yes, you're another HP/L blockhead.
Because it is OHV, the Viper V10 has a significantly lower centre of gravity and weighs roughly the same as Nissan's vr38dett (A 3.8L engine that is less than 1/2 the displacement) with all its fluids and accessories, yet it is an engine with 80 more horsepower and 133 more pounds of torque. Also, because it is OHV and NA, it is under-stressed. HP/L is 100% meaningless. It is an engine that accomplishes a task with the same parameters as smaller engines, but without the complexity. What is your problem with that?
Really, both the Viper and the engine that powers it are so disgustingly underappreciated. With the ACR version, lap time records have been broken left and right, even beating ~$1,000,000 hypercars like the Mclaren P1 and Porsche 918 at 1/7-1/9 the price. Is not just one of the faster cars for its price, it's one of the fastest productions for any price! You wouldn't know that by listening to the mouth breathing keybroard racers that are prevalent online.
HP per liter is about as important as paint color. This engine is OHV, which allows it to be more compact, weigh less and have less rotational losses. That is why the Viper, particularly the ACR, is so friggin' fast, faster than cars several times its price. Really, it is an engineering marvel.

I'd rather have Kyle's sister, but seriously, it is sad hey had to stop selling them since it is the first Viper they made that can be driven on the street almost as well as a track. They really nailed it. I mean the 1st gen viper was almost unbeatable on the track, but too many owners got caught out by the snap over-steer on the street. And is it just me, or does it seem they left some nicks in the front splitter? I realize they are inevitable with speed bumps and stuff, nut one would have thought thy could have touched up the only cosmetic issue with the car in the dealership. I don't think he should have installed the optional cup holders though, they don't belong in the car. Cudos to Chrsler for not making the viper with standard cup holders though.
