Possibly the purist form of music from an era that we will never get back. This was full throttle music at ground level. Where has this passion gone from music today. So glad I was there , so sad it’s gone.
RIP Terry Hall. So saddened. Thank you for sharing your music and gift with us all. Such a beautiful blessing and spiritual experience every time I listen or watch live performances 🌟
Saw them as a kid in London 1980 then saw them multiple times in 00s. Last time was 2016. Easily one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Ska/2 Tone concerts were scary in the UK in the 80s but the adrenaline rush was like nothing I've had since. Legend has it the skingirl in the Fred Perry is still dancing :) R.I.P Terry Hall.
R.I.P. Terry. Free at last. A tortured life you led but brought so much joy to a generation. Time for some of that old moon stomping. . . . Are you ready!!!
I was 12 when the special were in the charts , I remember getting my first pair of Doc Martins and skining the head I remember walking around town feeling super human.
Man this is just brilliant. Learning the drums to this as a kid, listening for hours. They split and rock music took over for me but this is still great. Terry Hall loses his shit here and throws his tambourine! Never seen it, great quality too.
Ladies, gentlemen, orphans & kings let me tell you, it does get NO better than this! On a Tuesday evening it is hard to express the exuberant joy and intensity in my 60 year old bones listening to this!
Is grew up a few roads away from Albany Road, the home of The Specials, and a few roads away from The Selecter. I was 12 when this was happening; I remember the buzz in Cov, at school, my family etc. How I wished I’d been on that stage (albeit I was probably a few years too young!). RIP Terry Hall.
Can't imagine the security allowing this these days, fans on stage, health and safety gone wrong. The Specials were S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Too many thought they were Skinhead group, just listen to the music.
Arnold Rimmer you should’ve seen Lee Brilleaux take it to the bouncers at Ilford Odeon Dr Feelggod, the bouncers wouldn’t let people get up, remember the Odeons were cinemas, great night after Lee sorted them out.

not meant to be a copy , they did it their way as they did with all the songs others had done first . I guess you had to be there to understand , pleased to say i was and they were great great times
Thank you!!!!! I had a Two Tone comp that I played to death in high-school. Everytime I hear this track it is a spiritual experience. I had never seen the video component!! Ah...the bittersweet ache of nostalgia...
Still plays in 2024!! RIP Terry Hall gone but not forgotten!!!.🖤 🤍

Did Terry hall,, exactly represent Coventry: in the regional tambourine throwing championships...1978?
It's my favourite music video
.....the last time and era when young people were happy with who they were
RIP Terry Hall. So saddened. Thank you for sharing your music and gift with us all. Such a beautiful blessing and spiritual experience every time I listen or watch live performances 🌟
I still have the tambourine to this day: it hit the guy next to me on the shoulder; grabbed it quick and melted in the crowd.....
Yeah, sure you did.
@@MrFrampo56 Yeah it's on the wall...every now and again I take it down, give it a shake and a good bang...
@@goalltheway-pm8xs I do the same thing to you misses.🤣
Did he throw because people weren't initially coming on stage? He looked seriously peed off.
@@debbiet9424 he threw it at the bouncers because they were stopping people getting onto the stage
What a band modern kids don't know what they missed out on RIP Terry
Superb. Two tone at its best. There will never be another Terry Hall.
Cheering up the tune in Germany in 2024 because it's awesome. Ska, Rock Steady and Reggae made musical history

This is so good. We were blessed to grow up with this music.
True, Gerry Dammers was such a genius.
We really were! Born in 68' and by 79' my life began
Woke up to the terrible news
R.I.P Terry ,Thanks for everything
SPECIALS !
Saw them 6 times at the time and they were the best live band I’ve ever seen; tight, loud and fun.
Man this is just brilliant. Learning the drums to this as a kid, listening for hours. They split and rock music took over for me but this is still great.

That lad who got up on stage around 3:45 was having the time of his life

I just love this! Can you imagine modern artists performing under these conditions?! Awesome. A big loss
Wonderful stuff! Devoid of superstar egos and all the fans spontaneously dancing onto the stage. Great music!
How do you know it was not devoid of egos, you know nothing of the tensions in the background.
Yes, it's a real pleasure to see the kids on the stage with the musiciens. Everyone is happy and alls are together !

Pure class Rude Boys forever.
Went too see The Specials at the 02 academy, Birmingham, 16 /9 /2021 , every tour I go , favourite midlands group, keep it up guy's, BRILLIANT,
Fantastic live performance, saw them live in 77 in Cov. Terry Hall looks funny with his little strip behaviour.
Absolute super band
Neville waves,'yez cmon"everyone bales onstage
God. Thank you for letting me see The Specials with all the orginal members. Amen.

Love you, beautiful upload
That badsist is killing it
Good drumming, looks tricky to do.
4:27 he's clearly need to rest for a while
RIP Terry
Brilliant god life was so simple then
Thanks, Terry 😪
Growing up in Coventry
Wonder if there's an audience member with tambourine scars after this.
I think he threw it at the bouncers for not letting the audience on the stage hahaha brilliant tho
I bet most of them kids on stage are rapidly approaching 60 now... Just like me😔
Energy ⬜✊⬛
LMFAO @ Terry bashing security for trying to stop people invading the stage at 3.24 and throwing his tambourine at 3.57, that's gotta hurt.

dante casco Wrong. Look at The Pioneers lyrics video for this song.
Wrong I parts. It “on the rail’” not “rear”. Many other errors too
such a funny song, the Jamaica vernacular at its most artistic from Life itself no horse
