Brings back great memories, shining up the dm's, bottle of cheap cider and heading into the disco. If only i could go back to those days S P E C I A L memories. NOBODY HATES SPECIALS
I'm a 17 year old from Doncaster , got into the scooter scene a few years ago because of my specials addiction , since then ive scene the beat , the specials , and a few others , SKA'd FOR LIFE
Damn I am late. I started driving truck to the Islands this year and already spent some time near Doncaster at Stockyard truck stop. How is the scene there? I would love to enjoy the ska concert with the locals.
Im only 20 so I missed this music era in its hey day sadly, however I was fortunate enough to be introduced to it from a very young age and brought up with it all, thanks to my parents!! Best music ever, not like the cack released these days!! x
Love this band, some of the best music ever recorded, also great live caught up w/ them @ the Icehouse and at Hollywood Bowl was able to meet them what a bunch great guys, absolutely PLEASANT!!!
You will have a great time at T in the park watching the mighty Specials, they cracked America and the far east and for me have influenced a generation. Went to see them for the first time in April as I was just too young in 1980 and was blown away. Have a great time mate , wish I could be there.
Written by Gordon/Sidney Crooks/Jackie Robinson/George Agard. The original is by The Pioneers, (founding members Winston Hewitt, Derrick Crooks, Glen Adams). On The Pioneers record was Crooks, Robinson, & newest member Geo Agard (Desmond Decker's 1/2 brother).
I was working in the oilfield in Oklahoma. They had no good music there. I flew home and bought as much good music as I could.(especially all two tone music) we rocked Oklahoma!!
Holy cow !!! I remember 1980 and I swallowed this music up ! Funny everyone I played ska for loved it but never as much as me I guess because I still love it
My Pork Pie hat lasted 2 days before a taxi klled it. Coventry restored, my love of Ska + Bluebeat + moonstomp fun, I wish Bodysnatcers were bigger and Paline Black' Selector elevated things ON MY RADIO! Love that energy and remember Ranking Roger exhorting the P.M. to "Stand Down Margaret". Special's version of Long Shot lifted my mood every time . Passing of Nev Staples was a downer; I liked him.
Two Tone blew my mind as an 11 year old.Out with the parents shit clothing...Stay press..loafers and Fred Perry jumper to school..oi oi..Jamaican ska that drove my old man mad..pre curser to being a casual...Happy fucking British Yourh in the 80"s..

1980 two-tone suits made to measure from market out to disco at youth club to listen to ska lol fantastic period to live in.
Near the end, when they seamlessly kick up the tempo- that’s talent. Genius.
it segues into skinhead moonstomp...
i can not believe how much time has passed and how this music is a great now as it was then! good times!

Yet another classic ska-2 Tone track from the one and only The Specials!
Amazing keyboards - had never heard this version before. Just addictive music, can't get enough, will follow me to the grave for sure
When you're Spark Out!
Before the grave, listen to the live version (special A.K.A live), and you will get back on your feet instantely. may be it help......😎
Rude boys/grrls don't die, they just kick the bucket and keep stomping in the other side
Used to run my brother's Too Much Too Young EP on his girlfriend's suitcase turntable, when I was flat-sitting theirs. Best version imo
