51 years old from the midlands. It was a bizarre time musically, I got stoned with and pissed with many of these folks and some of these guys could really play ... I`m just glad you appreciate it instead of the usual shite in the charts now. kudos, you have good taste.
Jeezus Eggsy, you make me feel old 😃 I was 15 when the Specials first album was released in 1979. I bought it using my paper round money and many others. I’ve loved ska music my whole life and as a 57 year old grandad I play it to my wee grandkids. Keep skanking brother. Stay S.H.A.R.P. 👍
Micheal wow you’re tech savvy at 70, I’m in my 50s & most of my friends r gone now, you’re obviously on point, it’s mad that there’s people still of our age appreciate these tunes x
Real skinhead vibes, no bonehead shite…I been listening to this stuff since high school. Long live two tone, long live traditional skinhead culture. Long live the specials

But hey we had 2 Tone.... couldnt wait for friday night disco....All dressed immaculately at 6 oclock, by 10 oclock we were sweaty drunken happy teens..
I hear ya mate!! I also lived in a shite town in the North East, I also lived on a shite street, in a shite house with a cunt father who was always pissed and angry because of the mine closures. I also had mother who was angry at her children because of my dads bullshit ways and his zero zest or hope in life anymore. I fucking hated where I grew up. I hated the school. I hated the area. Everybody was so fucking miserable because there were nee jobs, there was nee money, nee hope, nee nowt. But when Friday night came around, everybody was oot and partying and forgetting, but come Monday it was all doom & gloom again. Then the Indie seen hit late 80's and early 90's - bosh!! Everybody was oot from Friday to the following Friday on their magic smarties. Good times!!
@@milanstoj4416 Skinhead moonstomp was used by Symarip with a lyric change but the tune itself was originally called the Moon Hop, By Derrick Morgan, however both equally as good,
Yes, there is an extremely strong similarity to the Derrick Morgan, of which I own a copy. Isn’t it odd that he doesn’t get a writing credit..As you are probably aware, the name, Symarip, is derived from the original name of the band, the Pyramids...well almost!

The Skinhead Symphony in Three Movements recorded as part of a 3 track session for the John Peel show on 15/10/79, including Rude Boys Outa Jail and Rat Race. As close to capturing the atmosphere and buzz of a live performance as there will ever be. So much so, that even The General was convinced it was a live recording when he djed in Coventry on 18/10/19 at Drapers bar, where he played a reggae and ska set. Earlier he had played a "library music" set at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum for Liverpool electronic-pop girl trio, Stealing Sheep, a show which paid tribute to electronic music pioneer, Coventry-born, Delia Derbyshire.
Great to find someone else combining an interest in 2 Tone with Delia Derbyshire (the beautiful brains behind the Original and Best Dr Who theme). Just watched the docu on DD - what a shame the BBC didn't really value her talents.
im 70 yrs old and i love this music, keep skankin , wish i was young again
