RIP Terry. I never knew until yesterday what you went through as a laddie. Back in and around 1980 I loved the easy blending of punk into ska. So many common values. Terry had a lot to do with that.
Man I remember the Specials, they were one of the first ska bands I ever saw at the tender age of 13... Snuck in at the back of the tent ... Terry Hall stormed off stage and merry hell broke loose... Those were the days 🎉😅
I came here again after learning the very sad news about Terry. So many great years and so much great music. Very lucky to have seen Terry and the boys twice in Canada. We lost you far too early, mate.
Well I enjoyed myself to hell and back with this one. How I wish I'd been there. Imagine having to resist the urge and actually sit down when asked? The band and the audience were well and truly enjoying themselves here.
As long as social media continues to become more and more intrusive, this video continues to shine on and on, on the importance of individuality at a gig!!

The Specials were massively influential in my political and social awakening. Can't remember if it was Phill Jupitus or someone else who said that going to a Specials act was one of the most sublime experiences of his life - but I can well believe it. Such a landmark group, so ... Important. No less relevant ending 2019.
I love the bit after about 2.30 where Nev is trying to get back onto the stage. I miss when things were real, not plastic. Ten points for spotting Lynval, Horace or Roddy. Wrong band, but utter madness.
Try being a fan getting on stage to just dance with the band and have fun...harmless. You'd get the shit kicked out of you and most likely find yourself in jail. R.I.P. good music and good times. You are missed....
