Great video Mike. Awesome comic store, amazing prices. I picked up New Gods #1 on the newsagents in the UK when I was 8 yrs old. For me the stand out is that Avengers. Gorgeous cover, so yellow, so Buscema! You gotta read Understanding Comics,like, Now! Happy New Year...
Had the pleasure of spending some time with Scott McCloud and his family a number of years ago when he spoke at an academic event for an association I helped run. Terrific guy. He gives an awesome talk if you ever get the chance to see him, do it. The annotations are cool because I also use that graphic novel to teach about how different media communicate by different rules and biases and I hope students write in it…a sin, normally, for comic and graphic arts folks like us…who collect. But writing (and drawing!) in books is good!
It was so great to run into everyone that day. It was probably the first time out for me since TerrifiCon! What?! Where did the time go. I was able to grab a couple of books and I also went over to get a couple of slices at the pizza to top off the end of the day! Great pickups Mike!

You just began by buying New Gods #1. Now you have to pick up The Forever People, Mister Miracle, Kamandi, and last but not least The Demon! Keep up the great videos.

Ive been watching a lot of comic collector vids on YT recently and there has barely been any young collectors present. Mostly middle aged to elderly enthusiasts. It does make one wonder about the future of our hobby...

Great haul. I love the Alien Worlds. I just picked up both Dave Stevens Alien Worlds covers and his Vanguard cover for a similar price. I'll be adding a reminder to check out this end of year sale next year!

I'm a huge Kirby fan. Have most of his marvel work from the sixties, read so much of his stuff, but for mine his 4th World is his magnum opus, so New Gods #1 for me.

Congrats on all the great deals. You should hunt down Jack Kirby's Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers. It was an independent comic he did in the 90's towards the end of his career. Just like how New Gods is a continuation of his Mighty Thor, Captain Victory is unofficially the sequel to New Gods and the Fourth World. Victory himself is the son of Orion. There is also a Darkseid like character called Black Mass and Apokolips becomes the planet Hellikost. I love this unofficial lineage between Thor-Orion-Captain Victory

Kolosso was created by Mario Faustinelli around 1963/64 and satirised Italian Sword And Sandal films of the time such as Hercules The Avenger and Hercules Against Rome. The comic lasted over 100 issues. In order to make the book stand out among all the other comics, Faustinelli deliberately spelled the character's name with a K, a letter not part of the Italian alphabet. Understanding Comics is one of the best comic-related books I own.
I saw a cool Ted talk and went to a workshop where they explained the depth f the X-men comic book god loves men kills. Ironically it was how to make comic books. The X-men cover with night crawler and Wolverine in the cemetery was one of my favorite marvel series. Which actually is what cable in Deadpool.
I would have gone Ham on that sale. I love Sam Keith, not enough people talk about him but he is an acquire taste. He was like the Scottie Young of the 90’s. I was also a Mark Bagley fan so I guess your Carnage book was my favorite
I believe all of the low prices. The bubble got way too crazy, way too big. Could never be sustained. Now vendors are realizing the money is drying up and it’s time to mark down. Pretty simple

The Scott McCloud books are *so* good. I found Understanding Comics and also Making Comics both fascinating and so well explained.
