I am chasing every Darwyn Cooke cover, it’s my current obsession. Ben has great taste because Darwyn was an absolute modern master. His design sense, timeless style, and writing chops put him head and shoulders above any other modern creator in my book. Gone too soon!
By the way that comic at 16:55 you can use a straight razor blade to get that price tag off just go super slow up and down I removed a lot of them without damaging the books.
Currently collecting Darwyn Cooke variant covers which DC had back in 2016. Had a few back then of what I was buying at the time. He came to Montreal Comic Con and signed a few for me. A few months later, he passed away. And believe it or not, I actually saw the LOTR animated movie when it was released in theaters. Yeah I'm ancient. I don't remember the film much in detail but I still recognize that movie poster.
This place reminds me of a mill i used to work at in Uxbridge MA, called Bernat Mill. Sadly, it burnt down but, those memories started flooding back. Nice shop and finds!
I love Darwyn Cooke. He left us too soon. I only have issue 1 of his run on The Spirit, but he also did a one-shot crossover with The Spirit and Batman. I also love his Justice League story. So many great grabs here, but I'm giving top place to The Lord of the Rings. I love the books, the Peter Jackson films, and I'll admit it, I really dig the animated film. So cool, Mike.
I have to tell you that when I was in elementary school 1980, 81, they had I believe 16mm film version of LoTR, and both Rankin-Bass cartoons of Hobbit, and Return. Once a year, we got to watch all three, projected in class. Actual film reels and a projector 📽️. Long before VCRs were commonplace. 😮😮
@@grios5530 you are correct and believe it or not, that was actually the gift I got Ben! Didn’t show or mention it because I gave it to him right at the shop and it’s slightly racy lol
The Ralph Bakshi movie of LOTR was fricken Awesome !!! :) Loved it as a kid. I gotta find that mag. I have the hardcover Children's Book adaptation with stills from the movie.
I have a question about that mars comic what is it a homage too? I can't think of the comic at all and love the content and showing us all the unusual places to find comic books at.
Great content, as always! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?

@@ractsninjas oh wow! May I ask which store?
I love that LotR book! I've seen it a few times and have always thought about getting it. So glad you picked it up and showed it off. Great purchase!

Those places are awesome. we have a place like that here in WNY. I seen that Ghost Rider masterpiece ... that would have been my fav!
At 19:25 Deathlok first appeared in Agents of Shield in the 'Project Deathlok' episode.
Nice review.
This was so cool, such a fun video
Grew up in Wilton, that artist section is a great place to go beyond the comics.
The Nick Fury #2 has a famous panel that had to be replaced by a holster to make it less next. Very funny story.
Great store bought a Miss Marvel #1 from him a few weeks ago.

The Lord of the Rings Magazine was definitely the Coolest. 💍
I love that film. I grew up with that film. I would pay $50 for that too. Nice score.
Bakshi is amazing. American Pop is a favorite.
When you were in Portland Oregon, I am sad you missed Fallout Comics. It would blow your mind.

That Super adaptoid character.I think I saw it as one of the wall books also. Whenever he shows up, it's always a doozy.
I liked the Mars series from 1980s...short run. Would like a small shop to look through like that ...
The 50 cent box had a lot of keys. Not the best condition but the first Omega Red was a Newstand!
That gen 13 janet jackson homage cover is the book you needed to grab. Stupid rare

@lunchmoneycomics I've only seen one in any shop since the day it came out and that was a year ago and I grabbed it without hesitation.
Darwyn Cooke was the GOAT - all his stuff is amazing. Gone way too soon.
I wouldn't call any artist the GOAT(too subjective) that written, Cooke's style is definitely timeless.

PS: ~and that whole other batch of books for 15 bucks or so is a perfect digging trove haul !!
Awesome Nick Fury for $20😮
I would have snagged a lot of those Tomb of Dracula books for $5 a lot of them were actually keys!
Oooooo, I spy a 20¢ House of Mystery 👀

Don’t know anyone that is into pop culture, sci fi, fantasy, comics etc that doesn’t know about or like the animated Bakshi LOTR. It’s awesome
Oh man, tell him to send you that Gen13 Janet Jackson cover! 😅
@@comicdigger that’s actually the book I bought for Ben!
