    EDIT #4: OKAY HUNTER GUIDE IS LIVE! ruclips.net/video/e92tjP-87YQ/видео.html
    EDIT #3: Here's the Gunner Guide referenced: ruclips.net/video/xfi7p1T3iCI/видео.html
    Sorry for the delays to the Hunter Guide! The goal is to have it fully dropped Wednesday (assuming no server lag by that point). Thank you all for the support you've given every single one of you and I hope you're all have a great time in New Genesis!
    EDIT #1: Also forgot to do a Tl;dr of my content: I make short guides cause I hate 20min+ long guides/information as an MMO player. So I wanna keep making short guides/news/reviews so you can go back to playing the game rather than watch a video! Thank you for the support everyone!
    EDIT #2: It was pointed out in a comment and I forgot to mention it here (it is mentioned in the Gunner Guide itself). Bind your weapon action to a comfortable key, like Shift (this is my binding, I've been using), so you can easily access stylish roll/onslaught/Gunner's rolling weapon action. This is a nice QoL that frees up a whole slot on your weapon pallette!

    Imo, if you're maining Gunner, you should skip spread shot since you're gonna be on TMG most of the time (Last I checked spread shot only works on Rifles). You can use the points into PP recov and overwhelm instead, which I think is better.
    I think NGS's subclasses are really just for the skill tree passives since most of the weapons can maintain 100% uptime which is nice.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +2

      Yup! If you have no plans for rifle usage at all on Gunner, I recommend putting those extra to points to get 10/10 PP recovery and 2/10 Overhwhelm as well. This also makes Gu's subclass pp recovery even better once you do that.

      No problem! Also welcome to PSO2! I hope you enjoy your stay with the game and have tons of fun! And for skill trees, honestly speaking the passives that you see at the top which are usually 0/10 points (Defeat Advantage from Fi, PP recovery from Gunner, Flash Guard from Hunter) you can pretty much ignore those and get the rest of the skill tree (1 points) to experiment. The game hands you a N-Skill Reset Pass at the very start of the game so it's not too bad! Also when we get more cocoons added (This should come in August with Braver, a katana+bow class), you won't have to worry about SP! On top of this, SEGA hands out SP reset passes anytime they make an adjustment to skills or add skills, so we'll get a guaranteed another one in winter =D. Hope your having a great time in NGS!

    Not sure if this has been answered. I'm now at the point where I'm torn in choosing Cattleya or Resurgir TMG's; Cattleya provides potency depending on how high health is(up to 5%). Resurgir provides 15%crit on successful dodge for 15 secs, I'd choose Resurgir, but my question is, does the TMG action skill(cartwheel) act as a dodge to proc Resurgir effect? would test this myself however I dont have the tools at my disposal.

    • @everydere

      Hi! So I don't fully have a resurgir TMG(only have sword atm, trying to get a rifle with presets) but I'm 90% sure it only triggers on side steps dodges exclusively. Luckily you only have to do it once every 30s to maintain the crit buff! Hope that answers your question!

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      Yup! You can either switch to the weapon, or if you multi-weapon I would slot the wired lances' weapon action onto your palette for a faster switch (I didn't have a multiweapon TMG+WL to show off since I don't have a resurgir 4* series yet)

  • @renaparker8323
    @renaparker8323 3 года назад +4

    Subjective, but imo 8 attack pp recovery / 2 overwhelm is better than 9/1 - the 2nd point gives 2% instead of the 1% the rest of the points give
    but that's just -1% recovery on normal enemies for +1% on bosses so it really depends which you care about more (and also doesn't matter that much anyway :p)

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      Yup you can do that too! It's mostly preference since the extra +1% isn't really noticeable, alternatively if you don't plan on using rifle on gunner at all you could take the 2 points and make 10/10 PP recovery and 2/10 overwhelm (I might end up doing this later down the road after the winter update).

  • @magezoldyck7126
    @magezoldyck7126 3 года назад +1

    If Gunner Hunter is specifically only for wired lances and not the hunter skill tree's passives and PA's, if the only thing you want is the wired lances gap closer it's possible to multi-weapon the tmg + wired lances and you'll still gain the wired lances gap closer (weapon attack) if you don't subclass hunter. The catch is you won't gain the wired lances PA's which I don't use anyways because I'm trying to increase my chain. Subclassing fighter and having that multi-weapon would still give you the gap closer and also increased damage to downed enemies.

    • @everydere

    I don't know if this is a dumb question, but seeing the potency of Bullet Rave, isn't it technically the most efficient way to play if you just do a charged bullet rave, spam more bullet rave until you're out of PP due to the fast multiple hits, do normal attacks to regain PP, then spam Bullet Rave again until you end the chain with a charged Bullet Rave and use the next charged Bullet Rave nearly immediately to start a new chain?
    I don't really understand which situations would justify using the other PAs, and while I love gunner that is kind of a turnoff for me so far. I'd love your take on when to use which PA effectively

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      So that's actually not a dumb question at all! On the onset, bullet rave appears to be extremely strong and you are correct, it seems that you would be spamming it 24/7. Potency values show that it is extremely high potency and everything lines up for it to be the most used PA. Now here's where everything starts flipping on it's head.
      So the fatal flaw to Bullet Rave is that the damage on it is COMPLETELY back loaded. This means that if you do not hit that final hit in Bullet Rave, the damage is actually incredibly low. So in theory Chain Boost with 120% attack speed would actually make this the go to move since it speeds it up. But from practicing and testing, I've found that WITH the 120% attack speed buff, if you do: Charged Point Blank/Bullet Rave to start your chain, then DUMP all your pp into UNCHARGED Point Blanks, and regen your pp via normal attacks to build it up back to 100 before ending with a charged point blank + multiple uncharged point blanks and an onslaught back to 0 pp (This damage is modfiied by Chain Trigger's Finisher damage bonus, so this hits HARD). Your DPS is actually significantly higher than spamming bullet rave alone.
      Point Blank has a slightly less potency on paper to Bullet Rave, however the animation for Point Blank is INCREDIBLY faster than bullet rave meaning you can PP dump and keep your DPS high by spamming this. Now since you HAVE to be within close range to do this, this is here Stylish Roll Strike Back comes into play. Every single time you successfully dodge with the weapon action, you flash blue + hear the ping, now your NEXT Photon Art is augmented by 20% Potency and 20% (pp cost). Since point blank already costs a low amount of PP, and your normal attack should generate approximately 20pp every normal. You can basically repeatedly spam point blank 24/7 while staying in melee range to take advantage of the counter damage.
      Now for aimless rain, that one is just AoE and you kinda just let it rip.
      So TL;DR: Build your chain boost ASAP to 120%, switch to spamming point blank + abusing weapon action/Stylish Roll's iFrames+Counter to increase your damage to high as hell. When the boss is out of reach due to gunner's lack of mobility (Unless you slot Hunter/Fighter for Wired Lance or Twin Dagger Movement), Spam Bullet Rave until the boss comes down for another ass kicking.
      Hope that clarifies your question and helps out!

    • @Exterm1nat0r_
      @Exterm1nat0r_ 3 года назад +1

      That sounds significantly more fun than what I have been doing, and much better at that! I didn't consider the damage on bullet rave being so back-loaded at all.
      Thanks a bunch!

Well-timed S-rolls allowed for true, permanent aerial combat, and the PA that was the equivalent to onslaught seemed to be a lot more useful. does ppl even use dodge on gunner? I feel like it is better to use stylist roll (or whatever that mouse 3 name is)? and any good way to use auto lock on weakpoint sometimes it just goes to target whole part of the boss/moster that I need to attack especially when boss is down and it still try to lock at their feets/wings(make me use Z to manually aim sometimes)?

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      So honestly the lockon situation is something that PSO2 has struggled with even in it's earliest days, unfortunately you'll just have to spam relocking on (Q) while staring at the general area you want to target.
      Now onto dodge, on Gunner specifically it's pretty rare to use it due to how powerful+versatile your weapon action is. There's some times you'll want to use it like triggering Resurgir's potential which gives you +% crit on successful side step counter, however it's pretty limited on when you should use it.
      Overall, I MIGHT sidestep dodge into a projectile occasionally to use the sidestep shot if the enemy is semi far away and I am running directly at it.
      I hope that was able to answer your questions or clear up anything!

    A tip I like is to build 100 chain fast use bullet rave and cancel the slow final shot with a regular attack, then bullet rave again and repeat this. Bullet rave adds hits to the chain super fast unless you let the slow final shot go off. Once you have 100 chain pop it with a full PA and then you want to let your full PAs go off during the chain boost period. I find this useful for keeping really high uptime on chain boost.

      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      Yup! I actually covered that tip in my gunner guide here: ruclips.net/video/xfi7p1T3iCI/видео.html ! Also for point blank, once you hit 120% attack speed, you actually get a lot of DPS from just dumping your PP to 0 by spamming it uncharged, then using a combination of bullet rave, sroll, normal attacks, and weapon action to regen your pp during chain building =D. I do this frequently in UQs against bosses and it results in some really high DPS (Sroll counter also pads this by making point blank hit even harder).

      @@everydere I didn't think of that. The potency is like half of bullet rave but I think in the time I do 1 bullet rave I can do like 3 point blanks. Hmm! I might try that thanks haha. I really wish there was a dps meter so I can test things better. Or that the PAs had the amount of time it takes per use on them. I had to time it myself. Bullet rave is around 3 seconds from first click to full animation finish. Point blank is about 1 second animations which means for like triple the PP use you can get 50% more dps from point blank for a short burst. Probably really good for downed phases.

    I do have a post-vid question that wasnt answered and the main reason im on YT now searching gunner vids:
    1.) I don't understand Stylish Roll "while Weapon Action is active (I guess they mean while you are mid-dodge thingy), pressing the PA button(? I guess they mean using forEx:Bullet Rave) will do some 'high potency attack'. I can't seem to get this to work or I am not noticing anything happening. (EDIT I think I am seeing what this is, it almost looks like the normal auto attack but just blue. it doesnt seem very powerful but I'm pretty sure I figured this one out at least)
    2.) Stylish Roll Strike Back: I guess I am not QUITE sure what they mean by a 'successful' dodge as I have experimented with this by just dodging around an enemy, specifically trying to dodge through projectiles and stuff but I never notice any buff occur. is there no visual cue or anything? and is the buff so miniscule that I just am not noticing the extra PP cost for extra potency increase? I don't really notice either of those two things occurring.
    3.) Spread Shot: Spend WHAT gauge that was built up by attacks? Its AR only, so do Gunners typically switch to an AR to do this move and quickly swap back to their Machine Guns?
    PS I am sorry if I am a bit clueless/slow ^ v ^ this is also my first time ever playing any PSO game and I just picked it up recently. and sorry for the wall of text, I'm trying to be descriptive to accurately point out where my confusions are. thank you!

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      No problem I'll answer all of these for you!
      1) So Stylish Roll is activated by pressing the weapon action while HOLDING down a PA, you'll notice that it makes a different sound effect as you roll + your attack will look slightly different. Stylish Roll will have the same general properties + animation as weapon action so that indicator is how you tell you activated it. If you did it properly, you'll notice you will lose 10 PP and your damage during those shots will actually be more than normal.
      2) Okay so this one is kinda hard to notice depending on how your sound options are. So when you successfully dodge an attack using the weapon action, you will see a REALLY light blue flash on your character+ a light sounding ping noise. When this ping noise happens, your next PA will cost 20% and your potency will be increased by 20% total, I usually treat this more as a of "Okay I dodged, so my next point blank/bullet rave is more damage" rather than trying to save the buff. So overall to really try and see this one, head to the cocoon "Defeat The Enhanced Enemy" where you fight a pettas sword that has an enhancement core, and continuously dodge the sword. You'll see the blue flash + hear the ping and it'll make it easier to notice.
      3) So Spread Shot is actually an interesting one, you'll have to open up your subpalette and put Spread Shot (it is an active skill, not a passive skill) onto your hot bar. It will build a gauge when you use assault rifle and this allows you do to do spread shot. Now, for gameplay purposes, TMGs are pretty self sufficient and with how good TMGs are + Chain boost and Chain Trigger, you will frequently find yourself not really needing to use the rifle. So overall if you don't want to use spreadshot, you can save 2 SP and put it towards 10/10 PP Recovery and 2/10 Overwhelm for more PP regeneration. But if you do slot Gunner Ranger for example, and you have spread shot on the ranger tree, You can use spreadshot without having it on your main class. So basic Tl;dr is: You can actually use TMGs 24/7 and Rifle is more of a preference thing/change of pace for you.
      Also don't worry about asking too many questions! Welcome to PSO2! My goal honestly is to help people learn the game so they can enjoy it since there's a lot of questions I see people asking, but not enough people answering them. I hope I was able to clarify the questions and feel free to ask more!

      And a few more questions come to mind that I remember being curious about:
      Augments: What are the best augments for a gunner to throw on their MGs? I think I put straight Potency+ x2. I wasnt sure which was better, Potency+ or Potency Floor Increase+. or if there are other augments a gunner will do better using.
      and for Armor, I am using Alts/Dolz Soul - maybe theres a better augment I should be using for those as well IDK ^ v ^;
      Multi-Weapon: I spent ALL of my money mostly because it was a main-story quest step to do so and I decided to make an AR / MG hybrid. Maybe I should have made a MG / AR hybrid instead? are multi-weapons worth it or should I stick with a pure MG with an AR (and maybe a launcher) on separate equips.
      Last but not least: N-Meseta. Since I broke the bank making that Multi-Weapon, I can no longer upgrade my brand new level 14 MGs and Meseta gain has grinded to a near halt. What is/Is there a modest way for me to be farming N-Meseta?
      and finally a less pressing issue BUT I also want to farm Base Game Meseta because theres a few cosmetics I would love to have but I notice they range from anywhere from 5mil to like 250mil. Do I need to level up in Base Game and farm Base Game Meseta somewhere? is ~1mil a CRAZY ENDEAVOR that will take all day? lol ^ ^;

      @@atrailofblood No problem!
      So spread shot is 100% locked to rifle only, so even on GuRa with Spread Shot on the Ra tree, you will need to have a rifle currently equipped to use it.
      Launcher can only be used if you do GuRa or RaGu (I switch between these two frequently), and they are surprisingly a lot of fun! Usually my rotation on bosses, assuming I can't get the ability to stand without being hit. Is to Fallen Impact then Multi-Hit and keep doing that. Now if the boss is not aggressive towards me or its a down phase, I use Fallen Impact followed by throwing a sticky bomb (Launcher Weapon Action), and Fear Eraser hold down. If you do this correctly, the bomb detonates during Fear Eraser's second enhanced damage portion, giving you a whole PP bar of pure damage.
      Now onto augments, the best augments would be to just slot pure potency on your TMGs AT THE MOMENT. But, I personally need to do more testing because potency floor increase lets you hit your max damage # more often and damage is slightly back loaded on your hits. Now, majority of the time at 120% Chain Boost, you'll be spamming point blank so personally I think Potency is better than potency floor.
      Multi-weapons are personal preference, imo I have my previous OG PSO2 15* Tmgs and they work pretty decently. I will end up working on my NGS weapons+Units to replace my OG Gear eventually but at the moment, the game's kinda buggy sometimes so out of safety I'm not really focusing too much on it. And your choice is correct! There is a hidden 10% potency buff for your main class weapon, so a Rifle is classified as main class weapon for BOTH Gunner and Ranger meaning, a Multiweapon Rifle would be more beneficial because you can put TMG+Launcher on it, allowing you to fully play RaGu or GuRa at any point in time! Personally, I am probably going to stick to separate weapons at the moment because I have access to my TMGs, but I will end up moving towards a Rifle Multiweapon as NGS progresses.
      N-Meseta is scuffed and the upgrading fees at the moment are extremely expensive. So the benefit of multi-weapons is that you don't spend WAYYYYYYYY more N-Meseta by making 3 weapons (Rifle+Launcher+TMG). Instead you dump it into one, then multi weapon the others onto it. So currently the only real way to farm N-Meseta honestly speaking is to just get a 30 day shop pass for 7$ and sell resurgir weapon drops/other drops onto the market. In terms of grinding for it, you can passively get money by doing random farming, also red boxes randomly will give you 10k. Also you do have weekly N-Meseta quests which reward 500k(?) a week and you can do it once per account per week.
      Now Base Game Meseta, you're actually in luck! The video that started this channel and all my stuff was actually a Meseta Guide which works no matter what update we're on: ruclips.net/video/eCjY6LR7uD4/видео.html . Now there's a couple caveats about it which is Cradle of Darkness was giving us approximately 20m+ within a short amount of time but it required a full party. Since the majority will no longer be playing PSO2 OG this becomes a little be more impossible. So the best course of action in base PSO2 is to hit level 50 per char you have, then do your weeklies (this will reward 6m a week if you have 3 characters). Weeklies are pretty fast to do, but if you get 10 daily orders as a weekly, skip it imo to save yourself time.
      Hope that answers your questions!

    I personally feel I get more out of the gunner by only having three abilities equipped. The rapid fire, the weapon action and the AoE. I use the subclasses exclusively for the passives.
    Rotation tends to be pretty simple - Activate chain trigger, if large groups then use AoEs full combo string including the final hit until 100 combo meter then go for a big AoE. I tend to use these in PSE bursts. or,
    Activate chain trigger, if single enemy or boss spam your rapid fire as quickly as you can to 100 without using the final hit then go for a full powered rapid fire with the final hit.
    Of course dodging with weapon skill and building up PP with basic attacks is mixed in with all of these as-and-when required, but gunner, although I find it fun and it does a lot of damage, feels very simple right now, and after about 70 hours of using it I feel that this rotation puts out the most damage. There could be better ways of doing it but I usually end up being the focus of boss attention. I don't find that subclasses really add anything substantial. I stuck with ranger for the extra bad condition reduction and ward. I didn't bother getting spreadshot because I never use a rifle and stylish onslaught isn't worth it, so 10 points in PP recovery and 3 in overwhelm.
    If this isn't viable or if there're better methods I'd like to know, I'm just using what I've surmised so far.

      Oh luckily my latest gunner video actually covered that for rotations!:
      ruclips.net/video/5apBDXjp4A8/видео.html
      Tl;dw: Bullet Rave's final hit is always a DPS loss, Point Blank deals more damage because Gunner has 2 Critical Ranges ( Medium Distance + Close), Strike Back amplifies point blank damage to a ridiculous degree because of gunner's close crit range. And then chain building is Bullet Rave minus the final hit to 81~90, WA to 120pp, then Charged PB into uncharged PB spam for the max Chain Trigger Finish, slap an onslaught at the end if you have 130 PP. (This Chain rotation deals more potency than a normal charged bullet rave + Finisher).
      Stylish Onslaught is actually useful since it lets you + deal solid DPS straight through multi-hit attacks, but other times Strike Back is better with Point Blank.
      AoE rotation is pretty much as you described for PSE bursts aka just spam Aimless Rain.
      And for subclass choices, you're spot on. Gunner's so self contained and perfect that it makes it's subclass choice pretty much anything you want. I run GuFo since the extra PP from PP Eradication Gain = Infinite Aimless rains. But also during a burst/downed phase, 1/5 PP convert gives you infinite PP so you never weapon action but keep spamming uncharged point blanks for max damage.
      Hope that helps expand your gunner gameplay!

    Would you ever recommend using rifle on Gunner ever? I know all of chain trigger is TMG only, but I still am a fan of rifle's PAs and stuff. I was thinking of making a multi-weapon for Gunner to have the normal PAs and stuff for rifle, but keep the dodge (since the s don't seem to work on Ranger's WA even though it says it's supposed to?) from TMG just to give me some more security while using rifle.
    Otherwise, is wired lance heavily recommended for the WA with TMG? I like the WA, but I feel like it's always a bit shorter than I expect, or sometimes it connects but doesn't pull me in.
    Really enjoying Gunner so far though! I've tried all the different classes and I'm -pretty sure- that I like Gunner best. It's so hard to decide though!

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      So Rifle Gunner is a kinda complicated subject, but it comes down mostly to it's usable but you won't have access to grenadier unless you have the Ranger subclass. Now if you are a fan of Rifle's PAs, there's really not a reason not to use rifle since even without grenadier, Rifle is still a really good weapon to use! Overall, Gunner's TMGs will be the primary focus of the class due to how chain works + benefits TMGs, but you can still use a rifle and you may even find some cool tech to do with it!
      For wired lance usage, It's mostly situational and more for getting up to the weak points, but you don't really need it on Gunner due to how bosses are designed at the moment. Petas Veras for example, has little photon boost things that allow you to glide from them, into petas' chest/weak point areas. Bullet Rave also is Gunner's go to "I can't reach the target" move and it's pretty strong as well. So basically, you can use wired lance to minmax point blank usage but it's not overly necessary at all!
      Now IMO I think once SEGA starts introducing bosses that require more vertical combat, we'll also be receiving class skills that accommodate that (OG PSO2 Gunner got Grim barrage which allows them to fly towards anything they're targeting).
      Also really glad you're enjoying Gunner! I hope you're having tons of fun in NGS and always remember to test any combination you really like! The best part of NGS, is how we're able to do virtually anything at the moment!

    • @magpiefirefly
      @magpiefirefly 3 года назад

      @@everydere That makes a lot of sense, thanks! I think I'll probably hold off on the WA until I get a much better feel for Gunner. I've been bouncing around all the classes and like a lot of aspects of each, but I want to say Gunner has all the stuff I like the most. Close range dodging fun, but not necessarily required to deal damage at all, a cool class mechanic for DPSing bosses, and all that good stuff.
      I hope we get more options down the line! I'd really like a mini-limit break like Talis has for example, just to have a big button to press every once and a while that isn't just the photon burst. Only thing about Gunner is that I just have no active skills that are directly related to TMGs.
      Still, having tons of fun! Only thing I'm a little confused about still is what the purpose of the weapon action -> PA thing. I forget the name off the top of my head, but.. What do you use it for exactly? Is it a quick way of capitalizing on the bonus potency from dodging something, or just a quick follow up attack for a dodge?

    Your vid makes me feel big brain for going Gu/Hu with TMG multi'd into a Wirelance. Any input on this multi-weapon, but skipping hunter in favour of Fi or Fo? The added tankiness from hunter is great, and I miss the block on the wire weapon action if I switch. With time and practice though, will stylish roll be enough in terms of defense? Fi's increased damage and PP recovery seems like the 'best' for this weapon setup.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +2

      So TMG is actually a pretty self sufficient setup and the defense on it is pretttttty high up on the list. Sroll can dodge straight through everything in the game (i've actually tested this), and has really lenient s. Fi as a sub will give you twin daggers which function similarly to Wired Lances except more flying around. And you are correct too! Fi's increased Damage will help Gunner deal even more damage during burst phases! Overall It's mostly down to a preference on what you personally prefer. Now Force as a subclass can allow some nice stuff since Rod is a very versatile and strong weapons well, so you're not really missing out on anything by choosing either one. Soo basically it's down to how you personally prefer to play the class.
      Now in terms of your multi-weapon im assuming its TMG base with wiredlance added? and that's A-ok, you can add twin daggers or any fighter weapon of your choosing and still excel! The greatness of new genesis is how open everything is for builds. Hope that answered questions you have!
      *TL;DR:* Fi works great, Fo works great, You'll be completely 100% A-ok with just Sroll/TMG Weapon Action for defense.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      So it's actually a future video I need to make, but basically 120% chain boost makes it so point blank becomes a ridiculous amount of damage. So what you'll be doing usually is choosing between Bullet Rave/Point Blank depending on how far you are at 120% Attack Speed Chain Boost. For popping your chain trigger, you'll want to be doing Charged Point Blank into multiple point blanks because the math on popping with bullet rave is only 660 potency, + maybe 330 potency. You can actually fit upwards to 4-5 point blanks (~1320+ potency) in one chain trigger's finish resulting in a LARGE amount of damage. So basically think of Gunner as more of a 24/7 sustained high DPS class with a VERY strong burst at 100 chain. I hope that answers your questions!

You just lose out on extra stuff for it).

    I find Chain Trigger has a fun and interesting rotation, but I am curious about optimal damage output.
    It really doesn't matter how high and fast you get the combo from 1-100, when the activated buff scales down the duration from 30secs to 3secs anyway. (If you activate the combo at 1 hit, it lasts 28 secs. If you activate at 100 hits, it lasts 3secs, regardless if you got to 100 hits in 4 secs during a PSE Burst or if it took 2 mins to do it.) Generally, I just complete the Chain when I hit 30-40 to split the difference and give myself enough time to have a buff active, but I really have no dmg meter to confirm this is the correct course of action.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      So generally I try and aim for 81+ (assuming you have the 120% Chain boost, since it'll speed up this fast)
      So my rotation is basically:
      > Build 4x 81 Chains and pop them (This gives 120% ASPD Chain Boost)
      > Chain Build up phase @ 120% ASPD:
      1-75 = PP DUMP LIKE CRAZY (Sroll/Point Blank Spam/Normal attacks for more pp for Srolls)
      75~100 = Weapon Action + Normal Attack spam back to full pp and hit 100 chain
      @ 100 Chain:
      > *If Chain Boost is falling off from messing up previously or boss is running away:*
      Charged Bullet Rave -> Bullet Rave (Finisher applies to ~50% of the duration of the 2nd bullet rave)
      (~700-800 Potency under Chain Finisher window)
      > *If Chain Boost is NOT falling off and you're in melee range:*
      Charged Point Blank -> Point Blank Uncharged x3 + Onslaught
      (~1200-1400 Potency under chain finisher window)
      This basically allows you to continuously use chain to build up to 100 constantly due to the small cooldown in between, while keeping uptime and an infinite string of high sustain inbetween 100 chain pops.
      Hope that helps out your theorycrafting adventures!

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      So imo the most common Gunner Subs are Fo/Fi, so by taking the Straga Tmgs you will get -10% Damage Resistance which is something you'll have to factor in. If you're not okay with the -10/-8% DR, then I would go down the Cattelya route which promotes you maintaining max HP instead (this is behind straga by 1%).
      However, if you're going for pure theoretical highest damage, Straga would win out vs Cattelya by 1% and 1 damage. Now the part that gets messed up here, is you can probably find a Cattelya Machine Gun with a Preset Skill like Fixa Attack cheaper than Straga, which would then make the Cattelya above Straga with no preset. Sooo it really does come down to your priorities + how much you're willing to invest! (Imo, I ended up taking the Cattelya Route since Fixa Attack/Fixa Termina on those was wayyyyyyyyy cheaper than a Straga version)

      Subclass choice is mostly to supplement your personal playstyle (Wired Lance/TD for example can be used to reach weak points easier, while something like Ranger as a subclass opens up rifle possibilities due to only losing blight rounds).

      Wired Lances are extremely fun and let you have insane AoE + iFrames, the best way to summarize WL is "If a problem comes along you must WHIP IT *whip noise*". Twin daggers however, have more of a single target focus BUUUT if you enjoy flying around, countering, pretending to be Attack on Titan, then Twin Daggers will fit your playstyle more. Imo combining either one with Rod will allow you to get aerial mobility+gameplay that you might be looking for. SO TL;DR I'd choose which one based on which looks cooler for you since Rod is pretty versatile as is.
      Also for wired lances, you might want to look if Massive Hunter is worth it for you? That's the other bonus to Hu sub which allows you to ignore all knockbacks for 30 seconds

Rifle is classified as a main class weapon for both Gunner and Ranger so you won't lose out on the 10% potency loss for having it be a "subclass" weapon when using GuRa or RaGu. Now that I think about it, if tmgs are the only thing that can trigger chain trigger, then what about multi weapon tmg? Does the abilities you add from another weapon become a possibility for chain trigger? Idk if this has been answered but multiweapons open up so much and I’m still thinking about the combinations

    • @everydere

      So i actually tested this, so let's say your multiweapon base is a Rifle, and you add a TMG on top. The TMG would still be able to trigger/start/end Chain Trigger and Chain boost only applies to the TMG itself. Now for what photon arts trigger chain, it is exclusively TMG PAs (Bullet Rave, Aimless Rain, Point Blank). I hope that was able to answer your question!

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      Yes! It actually does, and it really helps the pp efficiency + gameplay (Gunner can easily dump all their PP from 100 to 0 real quick, then build it up as you rebuild your chain). Now here's the big issue. If you're talking about the Stylish Roll ATTACK and not the weapon action roll, Stylish Roll takes 10pp to use and gives some decent damage. So what I've been doing since spamming Stylish Roll Attack is incredibly pp inefficient, is Sroll twice, then normal attack/weapon action roll attack once or twice. This usually should be enough PP regen to keep Stylish Roll Attacking (10pp a use). I hope that answers your question and I can answer more questions you have!
      Edit: Ranger's Dash (Weapon action?) regens PP on hit so using PP recovery will give you more PP every weapon action. Combining this with Launcher's Sticky Bomb (which fills your whole PP bar), and you get some really nutty stuff!

      @a.plipps 3 года назад +1

      You can always go Gu/Ra and never use the machineguns or rifles. On the gunner skill-line just get all the PP recov and Overwhelm.
      The reasoning is that if you have no intention whatsoever to play mainclass gunner, you can ignore literally everything in Gunner's skill tree and only get the Attack PP recovery and Overwhelm, making full use of your 20 skillpoints.
      Plus, as a mainclass Gunner, you get to enjoy the 130% pprecovery rate instead of the 120% as a subclass Gunner.
      Now, on your Ranger skill-line, just get all the skills that correlate to launcher (slow landing attack-ranger, slow landing charge-ranger, stickybomb quickreload, launcher charge grouping). You will be left with 16points leftover, that you dont have to put into anything if you dont want to; since I havent seen bad conditions being a big deal atm.
      Now this advice is only applicable if you dont mind completely cannibalizing the gunner skill-line; meaning if you 100% have no interest whatsoever in playing gunner now, and in the future.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      So the only main class ability ranger has is blight rounds, and you can actually ignore it and subclass Ranger and keep playing. The reason for this is because, blight rounds will be applied by someone who has it in content that matters so you're not really losing anything at all. There's no downside to using launcher at all on Gunner especially if you're in a situation where you might want to use it. The passives on ranger are also pretty meh so my whole build is just: grab everything, last points = 1/5 Blight rounds to 5/5, then 1/10 Bad Condition Ward+Reduction.
      Also as A. S said you can cannibalize your whole Gunner skill tree and just make it 10/10 PP recovery, 10/10 Overwhelm. However, you shouldn't need to do this since 9/10 PP recovery + 1/10 Overwhelm, and Launcher's Sticky Bomb weapon action will upkeep you at 100% PP. (it is possible to throw sticky bomb, start fear eraser, hold it down, hit 10pp, sticky bomb explodes and gives you back 100% PP and you keep fear erasering until 0 pp). Hope that answers your questions! Also thank you @A. S for the advice!

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад

      So currently the best augments would be to stack completely all the Ranged Weapon Potency % you can, along with potency floor. Use food to supplement your extra potency+PP on Gunner as well.
      And for preferred endgame armor, this one is a veeeery tricky one. Basically 4* units can get preset skills so your choice (assuming prices on Ship 2 Global are the same-ish across ships). Is to invest 200k+ in a 1% ranged DPS gain but no preset skill (Qual De Armor: units) or, invest in Cattelya/Vialto/Qual De Armors that have a preset skill for approximately 30k-50k average for good ones. Personally for me, the extra 3% damage loss for 9% more Damage Reduction/PP Recovery/PP Speed (Level 3 Preset skills) at the 30k-50k price point, outweighs the 3% DPS loss I would get.
      On top of this, Gunner is really PP efficient so I could stack more defensive stats or go full PP for more point blank spamming. But in pure minmax terms, the best possible unit would be the 4*s which grant 1% damage WITH a preset on top but that would either require godly RNG or dumping your bank.
      We also have to take in account Defense Quests drop in August with Braver (~ 1 month from now), which could lead to even better units/weapons that are potentially cheaper or easier to get.
      So TL;DR: Stack as much Ranged wep Potency as possible, 4* units investment is finnicky so choose between 1% Damage extra for 200k-ish or more comfy QoL but a level 3 Preset Skill at 30k-50k-ish. Also take into account in ~1 month we will have Defense Quests with Braver drop so it may give us easier units or SEGA may change drop rates for Preset Skills to be better.
      I hope my answer helps you out!

Twin Daggers are ridiculously fun and can give you awesome aerial mobility + close ranged uptime, Knuckles have some satisfying counters and speed, and I haven't really dabbled much in double saber so I'm still trying to figure out that one! Also on top of this, Fighter gives you Defeat Advantage which at 1/10 is 1% more damage on downed, but 10/10 is 5% more damage on downed states for subclasses.

    • @everydere
      @everydere  3 года назад +1

      So every class is worth to main. With Fighter your biggest gain is Defeat Enemy Advantage which pretty much allows you to DELETE anything that enters the down state nearly instantly and potentially chain down stains. If you decide on Techer Main, you'll get access to Shifta+Deband which allows you to actually tank more hits + get downs faster (but techter is very popular so you'll usually always have shifta+Deband on anyways). So it's mostly down to preference on what you like in the class itself.
      Now onto the highest damaging class. Assuming no server lag I've theorycrafted it's FiHu. The reason is because FiHu allows you to get Hunter Physique 1/5 + Flashguard 2/10, and stack that with Overload. That pretty much removes the whole downside of Overload itself. Now with Defeat Enemy Advantage on top of this (Fi gets a HUGE bonus when mainclassed to this skill) On down states, you would have the highest burst possible using any of Fighter's weapons, my preference is towards Twin Daggers on Fighter. Now the weakness to Fighter's kit is actually it's AoE. But that's where the Hunter sub comes into play. When you combine Twin Daggers + Wired Lance, you have the most mobility in the game, the most amount of s, the highest burst potentially atm. But more importantly Wired Lance gives you the ability to INSTANTLY delete huge amounts of mobs due to how broken it's AoE is.
      So Tl;dr: Highest Damaging class in the game (Based on my theory crafting): Pop Hunter Physique+overload at the same time, Play FiHu with TD for single target/burst, and Wired Lances for AoE.
      I hope that was able to answer your question!
