I think My F4i might be same.
I’ve been having the raspy cam chain noise for a month.
I finally put a new cam chain tensioner on it but I’m still getting the raspy sound when I rev it at 4K-5k

Kendricks Hayes Jr you either didnt tighten it enough... or your guides are junk

Did replacing the cam chain guides fix the problem? I believe my cam chain guides are chewed up as there are plastic pieces in the clutch case, but can't tell the extent. The infamous CCT rattle is what's started the investigation.

Yes it did... but WAS VERY VERY EXPENSIVE parts were dirt cheap... labor was atrocious... I walked out paying 1200 dollars (And i supplied my own parts)... it's quite labor intensive and I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself... it's caused from lack of maintenance (doing a manual cct) and the OEM CCT being complete garbage!

James Dean yeah labor cost is why i attempt to do things myself even if it takes twice as long. I wonder if the lower cam chain guide can slide out through the clutch case without having to practically disassemble the motor. Remove that bolt and slide it to the left and down?

Vladimir Amos again I just paid a shop to do it ... it was very expensive, and never again

FYI I was able to make this repair myself and was not terribly difficult. I will make a video and post it within a couple days.
