    Thanks for a great video!
Based on personal experience, the concept of “Living Will” is uncommon in Panama. What my late husband did when he fell seriously ill was to write up his own (in Spanish) and had his doctor sign. His doctor seemed to appreciate having clear directives. Medically assisted death is illegal here.
FYI for repatriation of human remains, check with the airline who can give you a quote. Cost goes by weight and distance. It is best to purchase a casket here as it will be much less expensive. The Panama funeral home coordinates with the funeral home in your country. There are costs to transport the body at both ends, i.e., everybody gets paid.
For comparison, if you don’t have a family plot in your homeland, an in-ground plot at Jardin de Paz in Panama City costs $7,000 in perpetuity, and can accommodate 8. The price of a niche for cremated remains is much, much less. Scattering of ashes is illegal here, but expats do it anyway.
Cremated remains can be carried back to your homeland as hand luggage after you notify the airlines and have the appropriate paper work.
    Hope this long post helps.

@@MYTYIAALLEYNE Hi, it depends on the funeral home, but after speaking to 2 funeral homes, it appears to be between $1000-$2000. Thanks for reaching out.

We’re planning on relocating to Panama City. We’ve visited a couple of times and know that we’d prefer to live in the city. Perhaps in San Francisco, Bella Vista or CDE. My question is,” is there any benefit to paying out $1000-1500 monthly in rent when I can buy something outright”? If I rented for a couple of years, that’d easily be $24-30K? I just want to know if there’s something I’m missing. Your input will be helpful. Sorry for the long question.

Hi..thanks for writing. You're not missing anything...just that it's usually recommended you live here for a bit so you can ensure you choose the best location. Also, you will hear a lot about...easy to buy and hard to sell in Panama, but it's a personal choice. Even the attorney warns about buying out right. Thanks for watching and for commenting.

Hi, thanks for reaching out, the attorney said that if a person/expat has significant assets, it's the best business structure to protect those assets. If you have further questions, you can reach out to Giovanna Esq directly. She is very responsive and her contact details are in the description. Thanks for watching.
