I’ve been doing extensive research preparing myself to transition. Thank you so much for sharing. I am going to be moving to Panama in 10 years (or sooner). I’m in my 40s currently, but in 10 years by then I will be in my 50s and my two daughters will be adults (in their early 20s).. I used to travel to Panama when I was a kid and I always loved it. I want to go back and live there this time. It’s so beautiful. Panama looks so much like Florida. My only fear of living in Panama is not speaking the language (even though people swear I’m Hispanic because of my complexion and my hair, but I am not Hispanic) LOL. I’m from Jamaica (but grew up in Florida) and I don’t speak Spanish. I will do the Friendly Nations option $200k property investment. I sew and I wonder if I can sew in Panama start a Sewing business in Panama?🤔 JM
We're glad you enjoyed the video! We understand that certain climates aren't for everyone. If not Panama, where is your dream retirement destination? 🌎
Because I have always lived in a similar weather, I don't see this is a big issue, although certainly a point to be stressed. That being said, depending on air conditioning has never been a problem to me, just like it's not a problem needing the heating for people living in colder regions.
You said the pensioner visa will not give you a work permit. Does that mean that you cannot work? Or have a job through a work from anywhere remote job digital job?
Rainelda, I would love to talk with you about a pensioner option. Im a US citizen currently living in Bangkok Thailand on a retirement visa. Ive sent an email to you, or if there is a better way for me to contact you please let me know. This was a great video with really good information. Thank for your help and this wonderful information.
As for a clean police record. Is that referring to convictions only? What if someone has a arrest only record as a teenager 50 years ago? Would immigration accept that? Great video. Thanks
Bonjour, si je comprends bien, une option mix d'investissement entre immo et compte à terme pour un montant total de 300k€ entre les deux, permettrait d'obtenir la résidence permanente immédiate ? C'est bien cela svp ?
How in the heck do you get an FBI report? 😂..... Do you get 6 months automatically when traveling in? Who does tours? Anything for a regular working American? Most of us dont have 200,000 laying around.
An FBI report is a criminal history background check. Anybody can get one. People most often get them when they start a new job, when they're working with kids, and people can request them on their own for various reasons. Just Google getting a criminal history background check. Btw, if you work for a small company and have a good relationship with your HR person or the staff member that does the hiring paperwork, ask them if they can give you the information for running a background check. Or ask them if they can run a background check for you. Companies which do a lot of hiring usually have subscription to the system so that they don't have to pay for each background check which could be costly for them.
Btw, there are various groups that offer relocation tours...black expats in Panama and Panama relocation tours are the two I follow although there are others. Also, your docs need to be authenticated; the process for doing that in the USA is the apostille process. A notary public who provides this service can tell you more about it.
@angelstar7656 back ground checks and FBI back ground is two different things. If it is just a normal back ground. I can do that but FBI . I will have to research
@angelstar7656 ok great notary is easy. The terminology is tripping me up. I built two non profits so getting DOCs notarized is a common routine. Thanks for the advice.
@@LFG22124 Usually, you hear something unusual about a country ahead of time if you follow the expat/slow travel space. Not only do you NOT hear anything distinctive about it (positive or negative), you still don't even AFTER researching it! It reminds me of the American cities like Dallas, Atlanta, or San Diego.
This was very informative. Thank you Reinelda and Panama for your diplomatic gestures and willingness to open your borders to neighboring countries.
We're glad you found this video helpful, thanks for commenting! 🇵🇦
Great presentation! I really appreciate the clarification on the health requirement.
Simple, easy to understand answers and guidance. THANK YOU!
Does an annuity such as from MetLife count for pensionado?
I enjoyed this video.

Cool! Willing to go there
Great information.
How can I get in contact with Reinelda please?
What is an 'updated marriage license' and why would the 'original' not suffice? Just trying to avoid problems when applying for our visa.
Thank you for the video. For me, Panama is too hot and humid, while the northern region, which is at a higher elevation, is too rainy.

@@internationalliving - Well, we lived in Cuenca for a little over a year, and now we are in southern France. We like both places equally.

So where does Social Security fit in here? Is it considered a government pension?
Yes, social security is considered as pension in Panama. Someone asked the same question in the audience and the lady said it's acceptable.
Oh, thanks,@@Manny_Boston. I didn't hear that, but I haven't gotten through the entire video.
Actually it is the standard bearer.

Great presentation! Do I need my birth certificate to apply for a Panama residency for me? Thanks!
I heared there is a further option, to create a business.
I want to know how can I setup LLC in panama as Iranian citizen ?

It's case by case. One would have to present the FBI Criminal Record to the immigration attorney for the appropriate answer.

Gotta do 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️💒 first
You couldn’t pay me to live there.
I hear that !
Panama has never struck me as an interesting country.
I agree but they sure make it very easy to become a resident. That alone is interesting.
Define "interesting."
