Lived in the Las Tablas area for 11 months after the lockdown in Panama City was lifted. After close to 8 months lockdown, I just booked a one bedroom apartment for $450, across the beach in Playa Uverito. First I loved it. Then I realized that people from the surrounding areas came on the weekends, with no respect for the people who lived there. Loud music from Fridays to Sundays. And I’m talking about 50-100, sometimes more cars showing up and playing loud music, with around 20-30 different songs. I honestly was close to get nuts. That made me realize, that living in the direct beach area, wasn’t a very good idea. Moved to the Coronado area to get back to a bit more civilized places. Don’t get me wrong. I did visit Pedasi, Playa Vaneo too. But at the time, most places were still closed. On top of that, I like to live with local people in my neighborhood. Gated communities are a No No for me. Last time I was living in a gated community was over 40 years ago in the German army. 😊 So what did I choose to do? I bought a lot of 520m2, just minutes away from Coronado. Building my own house. Therefore, I rented a 2 bedroom house for $350 a month in Gorgona for the time being. And for the people who plan to live in Panama. I only planned to be here for 5 months and got stranded in Panama through the pandemic. First panic, then more panic, because I wasn’t allowed to fly home to Canada. After my last request was denied, and the Panamanian government asked stranded tourists to get legal in Panama, I just thought: Well. The Canadians “don’t want me anymore”. Being in a separation with my now ex-girlfriend- she had a blast selling everything and keeping the money - with me, sitting in Panama. 😮 I just decided to stay in Panama. Like Edith said in the video. It’s warm all year round! Canada can keep the 6-7 months deep snow and shovel it! 😅 And yes. I lost everything in Canada. Started as an “old guy” at zero again. No problem. I got my pension. Building my own house because I couldn’t buy a fancy one what was finished already. But mine, also it takes a couple more months to finish it, is already special. Locals call it already “Castillo”. And without any street names yet, the supply stores put a delivery address in: “Calle de Castillo”. No idea who came up with this. But it’s kinda funny. 😆
This was a fantastic video! I loved all the specifics provided. I was wondering if she relocated with her pets, and it seems perhaps she adopted them all there?

How much is real estate tax and insurance for your home? Trying to assess if it would be affordable. Thank you for the great video and providing all information upfront that will help a lot of people.
Property taxes and homeowners insurance are relatively low in Panama. Property taxes are about 1% of the registered value of the property. Insurance for my home is about $400 annually.
That’s the beauty of Panama… there are many microclimates and places where there is significant rainfall. Perhaps the mountains would be more suitable.
It takes me 5minutes to Home Depot, 7 Minutes to Wholefoods, 10 minutes to 4 different Walmarts and Target. Dozens of coffee shops, large malls, museums galore. It would take a long time to get used to not having near immediate services. Nice looking place though.
@@theglobalvagabond3074 there are many towns that have lots of large stores. Panama City certainly has many shops within walking distance if that’s important to you.
Hola Edith, we liked your report about Pedasi and intend to visit in December looking for a 1 or 2BR Apartment to rent longterm. Can you advise us regarding a real estate agency you know. Thanks and best regards from Walter and Melaika
The Pensionado program in Panama is one of the best retirement programs in the world. To qualify, you must have verifiable minimum monthly income of US$1000.00 from a government program or private corporation. This could be Social Security or another government retirement fund, such as military, state retirement, police pension, etc., or retirement from a private corporation. For your spouse or minor children, your minimum income must be increased by US$250.00 per month per dependent.
??? HOLA🙋♀️ What are the cities around Pedasi? I notice Panama is Pretty big, I live in kingman Arizona, coming December 1st for a month to get my pensionado visa & to look for a place to see what area to move to to actrully stay June thru November Thank ❤️ you familia
North of Pedasi are Las Tablas, which has wonderful Panamanian culture. North of that is Chitre with all the shops and an airport to get you to and from Panama City. South of Pedasi is Venao, Ciruelo, Cañas Cambutal. There are a many, many more… Come visit! 🌴
Hi Donna, Panama is tropical so yes, there are mosquitoes. But they are usually prevalent at sundown. When I’m out then, I’ll either cover up or I’ll use bug spray. I didn’t ship anything… I just brought my suitcases and my two cats. But some folks do ship their belongings. Looking forward to meeting you when you arrive!
They don’t bother me. I have screens on all my doors and windows. They’re more active at sundown so if I’m outdoor dining, I’ll use coconut oil… that seems to help keep them away.
Pedasi is in the Azuero Peninsula. It’s the “Arco Seco” or dry arch. This area experiences minimal rainfall compared to Panama City and other areas in Panama.
@@Jammer411 true but in reality you have to get to the ocean first. If you live in town, walking to the many stores or restaurants can be difficult. Living right on the ocean would be ideal.
@@Jammer411 when I visited in 2021, the people we went to see near Pedasi had a house on the Ocean and two rentals on their property. Cute, tranquil and only about 400 a month at that time, and building another one. I would LOVE to live in the downstairs one right by the pool. But the other part is that you have to have a car to live there, it's out of town a ways.
It is hot here, which is why I had to have a pool for cooling down on those hot days. But, I got acclimated pretty quickly, to the point where I don’t need AC… ceiling fans and cross breezes are perfect for me. But, the warmth is not for everyone.
Hi Edith! Is there a butcher in Pedasi, or do these 4 mini-markets have fresh meat? I'm carnivorish that's why I ask, looking for a beach place to spend 2-3 months soon, I'm in Panama City at the moment
Hi! Yes, we do have a butcher located in Punta Mala, just a few minutes south of Pedasi. It’s called The Butcher’s Cut and it’s a meat lovers paradise!
@edithst-hilaire3824 Thanks for the fast answer, that's very nice! I wont have a car though, is it still reachable? And what would also interest me and you didn't mention in your video, how about connectivity? I have a Tigo card, do you think I can stream videos? Thanks for your time 🙏
@@stephanszwajcar2287it really depends. If you live on the road to Punta Mala beach, then yes, it could be a walkable distance. But if you don’t, we have taxi drivers who can take you to and from the butcher. As far as streaming, I can’t say for sure. I use Mas Móvil and have no issues streaming movies.
@edithst-hilaire3824 thank you again! I will probably go to Playa Blanca during December, and if I hadn't had enough yet, will come to Pedasi in January. See you 😊
There is a waterfall hiking trail further south in the Azuero in the town of Cambutal. That’s about 1.5 hours (90 kms) south of Pedasi. I’m not familiar with hiking trails in Pedasi as it’s more of a coastal area where fishing, snorkeling and surfing are predominant.
Hi, I would like to know why your pets are so costly. I have a dog and two cats, but $500 in Europe would be insane. Is it normal in Panama, or do you buy special things for them?
That’s a great question. We make special food for our pets and that can be costly. However, many pet owners choose to simply purchase kibble and that’s a lot more cost effective.
Yes, praise God! We have a strong Christian community that is a huge blessing for many here. We have Sunday service, Men’s and Ladies’ Bible studies and are blessed to be stewards in the community.
We've really been drawn to Panama, and like the fact they're not a NATO country, but did see they are involved with the WEF..So, wondering if they spray the skies with chemtrails. I'm trying to move away from that here in Canada.

@@PanamaRelocationTours I will as soon as I get a passport. We plan on going to get it done next month.
Thks. For Sharing. The Video is Awesome.
You look so Happy, I am very Glad for You. I was thinking to retire in Da Nang (Vietnam), Jakarta (Indonesia) or Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). But Panama looks very pretty, close and Safe for Single Canadian heading to Panama with direct fight.
Great job Edith!
Hey Bobby! Thanks, the videographer did a great job!
@@edithst-hilaire3824 Thank you for the clarification, appreciate it.
Best to rent, more affordable. Is cooler for the months of Dec , January, Feb and March my favorite months in PTY 🫶🏼👍😎🌎🇺🇸🇵🇦 PARADISE ..! 👍
I like the rain. 😥
That’s the beauty of Panama… there are many microclimates and places where there is significant rainfall. Perhaps the mountains would be more suitable.
Rain get really old after awhile-Boquete receives around 140 inches a year!
I'm considering El Valle de Antón. I'll probably take a Private Tour of the area. 🤔
@@mtngrl5859Rainy days are my sunny days ❤
Nice job.

Where do you live?
Hola Edith, we liked your report about Pedasi and intend to visit in December looking for a 1 or 2BR Apartment to rent longterm. Can you advise us regarding a real estate agency you know. Thanks and best regards from Walter and Melaika

Peace Edi,
I'm a USAF vet that wants to explore the Pensionado Program. Do you suggest that?
The Pensionado program in Panama is one of the best retirement programs in the world. To qualify, you must have verifiable minimum monthly income of US$1000.00 from a government program or private corporation. This could be Social Security or another government retirement fund, such as military, state retirement, police pension, etc., or retirement from a private corporation. For your spouse or minor children, your minimum income must be increased by US$250.00 per month per dependent.
??? HOLA🙋♀️ What are the cities around Pedasi?
I notice Panama is Pretty big, I live in kingman Arizona, coming December 1st for a month to get my pensionado visa & to look for a place to see what area to move to to actrully stay June thru November
Thank ❤️ you familia
North of Pedasi are Las Tablas, which has wonderful Panamanian culture. North of that is Chitre with all the shops and an airport to get you to and from Panama City. South of Pedasi is Venao, Ciruelo, Cañas Cambutal. There are a many, many more… Come visit! 🌴
Great video Edith, would love to come and visit. Are there expats living there?
@@michaelburles6808 about 100 expats live there.
The population in Pedasi has grown over the past few years. The total population is around 5000 with about 10% of that being expats.
i want to jump into one of those gigantic pools.
Great video.
Thanks for watching 😊
Love your site and we r moving to Pedasi. R there o
f bugs mosquitoes, ect? Did u ship any belonging there? I’d love to become friends!
Excellent
Thanks for watching
??Is there any information on a project called Town Center condos in Boquete Panama??
How is the mosquito situation there?
They don’t bother me. I have screens on all my doors and windows. They’re more active at sundown so if I’m outdoor dining, I’ll use coconut oil… that seems to help keep them away.
What is the humidity like in Pedasi? Hopefully way less than in Panama City I hope?
Pedasi is in the Azuero Peninsula. It’s the “Arco Seco” or dry arch. This area experiences minimal rainfall compared to Panama City and other areas in Panama.
loved your personal in put
Thanks for watching!
I loved that area on the tour but it's blistering hot.
@@anniesshenanigans3815 yes, it's very warm there.
Big ocean to wade in daily to cool off
@@Jammer411 true but in reality you have to get to the ocean first.
See you 😊
Are there hiking trails?
Is is possible to buy house cheaper?
There may be smaller, Panamanian style homes available for sale.
Sounds like a fortunate well to do woman
I think she must be quite well to do. I was in Pedasi. Roy's Place is like an island in the township not part of local life.
Good to hear that the crime rate is low & it sounds like it is affordable.
Thank you for watching!
It may not be small for long. :(
Are there any Christian churches here?
Yes, praise God! We have a strong Christian community that is a huge blessing for many here. We have Sunday service, Men’s and Ladies’ Bible studies and are blessed to be stewards in the community.
Thank you, because this is the most important aspect of me relocating!
We've really been drawn to Panama, and like the fact they're not a NATO country, but did see they are involved with the WEF..So, wondering if they spray the skies with chemtrails. I'm trying to move away from that here in Canada.
@@izzysilva411 i have never seen chemtrails in Boquete Panama, where I live
@PanamaRelocationTours wonderful to hear!!! This is very important!!
You are a beautiful lady ,please don’t walk at night alone.
