Panama seems to be working for you Ms. Edith. You seemed very relaxed and at peace, you have healthy glowing skin tone and a true smile. Congratulations on finding a nice place to live.
Gracias VonBluesman. Pedasí is truly a peaceful and lovely town. Come visit!
Come see how you can LIVE BETTER in Panama too! You'll also be relaxed and at peace.
Open your mind, open your heart, to love the people, to love the culture.....wise words!
We agree!
You have a great attitude Edith , Gracias Amiga , great video
What a beautiful lady! She is full of peace. Her skin is glowing! Amazing! 🇵🇷🙏😁
Thank you so much María 😊
I never been to Panama. Best wishes.
Yo soy boricua tambien. Mejores deseos. Donjr.
Wow, what a wonderful video. I would love to meet Edith, great smile, a great vibe, and is gorgeous! Panama here I come. lol
You will love Panama! Come see how you can LIVE BETTER for LESS in Panama.
Such a gracious lady! Her pool looks so tranquil and inviting. Hoping to go on a tour this year!
Glad you enjoyed the video
Awesome testimony, Edith! My husband, John, and I will be visiting Pedasi in January. Your video really gave me a great feeling about Pedasi as a possible place to settle when we move to Panama. If our plans go as expected, we will be moving from Texas to Panama mid to late summer 2023.
You won’t regret it Denise! Pedasí is such a lovely gem of a town! Looking forward to meeting you in the new year!
Hey Denise. Thanks for watching the video. It's a good idea to pick several towns to explore - then pick the one that "feels" best. Some towns have more amenities than others. Since I moved from Texas too.. I know you won't miss the HOT summers and COLD winters in Texas. Panama is a BETTER way to live.
Welcome to Panama my native country. I’ve lived in Florida since 1995. Your Spanish accent sounds somewhat puertorican or Dominican. My family comes from the highlands in Chiriqui. I have never visited Pedasi. I hope I can visited one day. Enjoy life
Thank you for watching 😃
Yes, many have said the same! I lived in the Bronx and then moved to Miami. It feels as though I have always heard Spanish being spoken. Now I have a wonderful opportunity to actually become fluent in this beautiful language.
Edith, your Spanish pronunciation is so good. I thought maybe your parents spoke it or something like that. Great job and thank you for the great video.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Although my parents did not speak Spanish, as a child and younger adult, I lived in cities that have a large Spanish-speaking population. I think just hearing it spoken all the time may have helped me with pronunciation.
¡Muchas gracias! Me faltan un par de años trabajando y después I WANNA LIVE LIKE YOU!
What a wonderful, informative video! Edith, you are so eloquent and your peacefulness really shines here. Best wishes!
Thank you John. Warm wishes to you.
Edi, great video! Proud of you!
This was very helpful. I believe the population in Chitre is about 57k and in Las Tablas around 30k.
I mean the population of the entire nation of Panama is less than half that of NYC. So yeah, tranquilo is a certainty.
This is one of the best videos I have watched. Coming to Panama in May or June to visit my best friend and look forward to meeting Edith in person as she attends the same church.
It will be wonderful to meet you Liz! Many blessings for the new year!
Hey LIz, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You'll LOVE Panama!
Thought for sure she was a native Spanish speaker . perfect pronunciation , she`ll do very well , great attitude .
Thanks for watching the video
Good morning, I have been thinking about Panama for the last 3 years. I just retired and ready to make a new adventure.
What a nice place to go on visit and see if i want to buy, Thank you for vey good information.
It's better to just RENT the first year or two in Panama.
Love Pedasi quiet place to enjoy life
Edith you did great!! What a great video. Thanks for sharing your beautiful experience about our town Pedasi!!
Gracias amiga! Pedasi es un pueblo hermoso 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I need to visit Predasi. I have lived in Panama for almost 25 years but have never been to Pedasi. I live in Volcan.
How do you like Volcan? Is it gloomy often in the rainy season?
I’ve only been watching about 3 minutes, but I like when people know how to pronounce the place where they live. Not bogete, not boquet, but like the locals, how it is actually pronounced. I’m so afraid of flying, but I have to visit Panama.
It makes a difference when people have lived in Panama 1+ years vs 1 month.
Loved this! I am gleaning so much from it. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks for the info and congrats on your new, relaxed and healthy lifestyle.
Edith you are great!!, I really enjoyed your Video, you look very happy there, congratulations!
Nilka, thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Such a great video Miss Edith! I feel like I know you already! I'm looking at a place there on Thursday and if it works out, I'm looking forward to meeting you!☺
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for all this great information
You are so welcome!
Congratulations on finding such a tranquil area that seems to compliment your personality. We will definitely put the island on our list when we move down in 2023. 😊
Hey Mary. Pedasi is not on an island. It's on the mainland of Panama in the Azuero peninsula. But there is an island not far away which is great to visit.
@@PanamaRelocationTours I meant the one you visited. 🐠🐳
I love hearing your story! Terrific!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
*******So great to see the questions asked :)
Great job on the video Edith! You’re a natural. We’ll see you around town.
Hey Bobby! Gracias!! I’m actually in the states with family, but will return soon. Happy New Year!! 🎉
HI Bobby, Glad you enjoyed the video. Edith's video and information was excellent!
Thank you, terrific presentation!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ms. Edith, great testimonial on your experience in Pedasi! My family and I plan on taking a trip there and would love to pick your brain about the Azuero peninsula.
Enjoy your trip to Panama. Be sure to visit other areas too to see how they compare.
Your Spanish is very good. Keep it up. Best wishes from Kansas. Donjr.
Thanks! I appreciate it. Happy New Year!
Great interview and very informative. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Thank you for all the information.....The composition of the video is fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, congratulations on your new life!! I was wondering what the weather was like there? How hot and humid is it ? Thanks for telling us about a Christian church because that is so very important to us as well! This video is the first I have heard about churches and I was nervous not to be able to have Christian fellowship and teaching. Thanks and God Bless you all!
daytime temps in the low to mid 90s.
Another lovely video. 🥰
Thanks for watching
❤ Edith is such a lovely person! I really enjoyed this video. Edith’s desire to improve her health really resonated with me. Pedasi & the Azuero peninsula are attractive to me because of the art and cultural activities. I have heard that the Azuero peninsula is the driest place during the rainy season and I like that too. I understand that Ms Edith bought her beautiful home (I loved the garden, pool & the kitchen!) but I was wandering what the price range for rentals is there. If a person lived there year round- but spent 2 or 3 months traveling every year - would there be a problem leaving - do people hire house sitters if they travel - how do people in Pedasi deal with that? Thank you for this great interview. Edith’s outlook is inspiring! 🎉 And Happy New Years to Edith & the PRT family.
Thank you so much for your kind comments Patricia. Rentals vary here in Pedasi. Before I purchased my home, I rented a house for $850 per month and it included everything. As far as traveling back to the States, yes quite a few of us do that. I am currently visiting family and have a house/pet sitter for my cats and dog. Thanks again for watching the video. Wishing you a very happy New Year!
How much was your house your purchased here.?
Nice video with good info . thanks !
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Would you please elaborate a little bit more on the health system (quelity, prices etc) ? Tks
The hospital in Pedasi is a small public hospital so it's about $2 to see a doctor there. If you go to a private practice, doctors usually charge about $20. Some areas have large private hospitals. See more info here panamarelocationtours.com/healthcare-costs-are-one-of-the-reason-people-move-to-panama
Another wonderful interview! May I ask about how much Edith paid for her home? I really like it. Thank you!
Edith bought her home for $160,000
@@PanamaRelocationTours Thank you!
Thanks, I wanted to know that too…
Hi Edith! Loved your testimonial! My wife and I are looking to relocate to Pedasi. What resources do you recommend to research real estate for sale in the area? Thanks!!
Hi Alex! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Pedasí is such a peaceful place. There are a few good realtors in Pedasí. Also, you have “For Sale By Owner” properties. I think the best thing is come and rent for a few months and get a good feel for Pedasi. Then, if you believe it’s where you want to buy a home, you will find some excellent realtors and people who will show you available real estate.
Alex we have a list of recommended, honest, real estate agents listed in the Complete Panama Relocation Guide panamarelocationtours.com/guide
Wonderful video Edith! I am a New Yorker and am exploring moving out of the U.S. Your area looks lovely. I do want to plan a trip to Panama and would like to have -- un cafe con leche with you!
Yvonne Martinez
I love quiet life style! ❤ How is the cost of real state compared to the USA? and do you think having a car is necesary? or its better not to have that expense.
real estate is more affordable in most areas in Panama.
Very nice, informative interview. Lovely lady!
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How does she deal with the heat and humidity compared to New York City and Florida? And how exactly does her insurance work if she also has Caja public insurance as well?
I bet she jumps in that beautiful pool if the heat and humidity get too hot. The public hospital is $2 to see a doctor or $5 for a specialist -- without insurace
@@PanamaRelocationTours Is this a situation where it's like living in a sauna??
It’s not that bad. Similar to NYC in the summers and South Florida. I happen to love tropical climates. It’s not for everyone, so I always recommend a visit to see if it’s for you.
What kind of health insurance arrangement does she have to supplement the Caja system?
Nice Channel 👏🏽
Thank you 🤗
Edith, I noticed many Expats are leaving Panama and selling their homes. Is this because of the recent drought or is something else going on? I was planning on going to Pedasi and am concerned that things may not be as they once were.
See our recent Pedasi video. Some expats leave Panama but not 'many!' Expats leave for a variety of reasons. See the top 10 reasons people leave Panama. panamarelocationtours.com/top-10-reasons-people-leave-panama
What's a ballpark estimate for the price of houses (like Edith's) in Pedasí?
$160,000
More like 200-300+k!
@@frodolives55 I paid $160k in January 2022.
Hi great to know about the Christian church !! I will be coming to tour a few towns for relocating and finding a Christian , bible based church is very #1! Your video was amazing and so informative. Is there a name of the church i can google ? I’m also curious about international schools in case my daughter and grandkids move with me . Thanks so much. Brenda
Hi Edith
My husband and I took the prt last February and we didn’t get to see Pedasi but are very interested
Are you still in Pedasi?
Thanks
Yes I am still in Pedasi and loving it! I am listed in the PRT online guide as I also do Private Tours in Pedasi and surrounding areas. I’d love to show you the town!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thanks for posting it. How was the process for buying your house? If you don’t mind me asking….how much did you pay for, your house. It looks lovely. Oh…are there any alternative health care practitioners in Pedasi…such as chiropractors or massage therapists? Regards, Greg
I’m happy to know you enjoyed the video. The process for buying my home was quite easy. I went to a highly recommended realtor in Pedasi who showed me a few homes and I after I saw my home, I made an offer of $160k which was accepted by the previous owner. We hired an attorney to draft up the title and the closing took place a few weeks later.
There are a few massage therapists in Pedasi, and I enjoy regular massages. There are two chiropractors in Venao, which is about a 30 minute drive south of Pedasi. The chiropractors speak fluent English. Come visit Pedasi!
Thanks for your reply. I have been doing some research and even booked a relocation tour but the COVID event changed that. You also mentioned that you had found a faith community to join. What’s the name of the congregation?
One other thing…we are vaccine free which presents some issues for travel although countries seem to be relaxing the constraints. What are the in-country constraints vis a viz COVID?
The only restrictions in Panama are that you need to wear a mask on public transportation, in hospitals, and at a doctor's office. No vaccines are required.
Greg, I attend the Baptist church in Pedasi.
What is the weather like in Pedasi?
hot. low to mid 90F during the day and humid.
What would you ballpark your monthly expenses to be total? Ballpark
My total ballpark expense is $1500 per month. Sometimes it’s less, sometimes more… but that’s about average per month.
That is with no mortgage. Correct?
Yes, however, I included insurance, and regular car maintenance. Also expenses that are optional that I prefer to have someone else take care of, such as housecleaner, gardener and pool maintenance.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
How did you find your home and what is the cost of homes there?
What is hurricane season like at this beautiful place?
No hurricanes in Panama
Is renting affordable? I wouldn't like to buy a house. Is it true that Panama is retirees very friendly country?
Rents are much higher in Pedasi than other towns in the Azuero.
for the rest of us IDAAN is Water...
how is building your house in Pedasi? General contractors there?
I've heard horror stores and heard from some who had a good experience. It's better to be boots on the group, like Edith was, to learn who to trust and who to stay away from
What's the name of the health insurance plan you're on
I am using Palig for medical insurance
I love your house THATS exactly what I want what’s the name of the community?
Glad you enjoyed the video. The neighborhood is called Roy's Place
How much did you pay for your home?
she paid $169,000 (unfurnished)
How much did you pay for the house you bought?
Hi, please see my reply to Greg a few days ago
I wonder how much she paid for that house, it looks lovely.
Hola Papi! Qué tal? I paid $160k
@@edithst-hilaire3824 That's really a good price. Don't be surprise If you see me in the near future in your neighborhood.
No need for any insurance other than automobile. This is not a litigious society, so you don’t need homeowners insurance and medical community is very reasonably priced including pharmaceuticals. Don’t waste your money on other insurance, other than automotive.
Since homeowners insurance is only about $200 a year, many prefer to get homeowners insurance. Health insurance is affordable too. Some get health insurance but some do not
You are dynamite
Thank you 😊
