"The contract was more in their favour so we didn't take the deal." Now I'm picturing Leon at the desk wearing a pair of glasses and twiddling his claws as he listens to Mike Judge discuss the terms of the deal. After Mike Judge is done reading the contract, Brady looks at Leon for the final say. He shakes his antennae - "NO DEAL". Maybe I'm just weird but the image of a LOBSTER at the table negotiating a contract - and having the final say - is just hilarious to me LOL
I was so scared when I first saw the title. I thought Leon died. I’m so relieved to know he’s alive and thriving. I can’t believe he’s been with you nearly a year!
Leon looks so healthy & content. He is no longer bound, grayish & defeated. He is a completely different being now. Congrats on the book & even the Beavis & Butthead offer, even if it wasn't taken. I am glad you have Leon's back. Footnote: Please thank your son for letting us have a peek into his "mad lab".

I see I no longer need to course correct your assertion as to spiders being on “auto-pilot”. Many others have beat me to it. Life, other than human, is much more complex than most people might realize with possibilities of of greater connectivity as applied to “thinking” within the needs of their own niche as well as responses to stimuli whether it’s fear, recognition, play, etc. We do ourselves a huge injustice as well as the rest of the natural world with some terrible conceits.
@@joescaletta9665 I worked in the meat department for a couple years. I'm so glad we didn't have live shellfish. The maggots in our bone barrel are treated better than the lobsters. We don't even eat the maggots and they're treated better than our food. Let that sink in.
In October of 2021 I was in hospice, I thought I was going to die. On the 22nd I learned about a potentially lifesaving treatment and was transferred to an acute rehabilitation unit. I remember lying in that uncomfortable bed, watching your first video about Leon, feeling so connected with this lobster who had been given a second chance at life. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story, thank you for saving Leon. You both bring so much joy to people who need it! Edit: Oh my goodness, thank you for all of the kind responses! I just researched lobsters from Google, and they said that a lobster from the grocery store that is between 1 - 2 lbs. is about 5-7 years old. I wanted to find out what their life expectancy is and OH MAMA it is 100 years!?!?!? Now you will have to put Leon in your will or plan on donating him to some aquarium or something, who knew. I love watching Leon and his antics. He will have a long life ahead and many stories and books I'm sure. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. I'm going to have to order myself a shirt soon.
Lobsters have something called negligible senescence, which means they basically ignore old age. As long as no predator kills it, or it doesn't die from exhaustion while molting, it will keep getting older, and also bigger.
When I first saw the notification just saying "News About Leon" my stomach flipped. I was so afraid it would be bad news. So being the coward I am, I read some comments before watching the video. So happy he's doing good. Imagine how many of us have become emotionally attached to Leon. If the book does get published I will definitely get one, even though it's a children's book and I don't have any young kids.
I did the same Toni. Saw the title, stomach sank, read comments before watching. If it was bad news I wanted to be prepared. Thank goodness all is well.
307 days without lobster for dinner! After watching Leon that first day I swore off my favorite dish of bar-b-cue lobster…… I love my coffee mug with a picture of Leon. It reminds me of how precious life really is! Peace ✌️
As a retired teacher I must say you are doing a fantastic job of educating the public about Leon the lobster in such a way that you leave all ages enthralled by your enthusiastic, engaging method of communicating. Your way of presenting the facts about Leon is interwoven with whimsical, gently humorous views and your obviously care for him and treat him royally! You make this lobster 'come alive' for both children, teens and adults and help us to experience this lobster as a unique, personable, and fascinating creature. This reminds me of when Jane Goodall first introduced the world to chimpanzees! You clearly show such deep curiosity, appreciation and interest in Leon and are highly observant of him. This compels those of us who watch your videos to also carefully notice his behaviors in a fun, engaging manner that we never would have done otherwise! You are furthering a whole slew of budding potential scientists! Thank you! It is wonderful to watch you both studying him as well as learning directly from him about his ways and you are captivating audiences around the world by sharing this. BRAVO! In this video, I noticed Leon repeatedly 'grooming' his little 'antennas' near his mouth. So, being a curious person I simply HAD to learn more about these and here is what I found out: Those little antenna are called antennules! Cute huh! He IS mechanically 'grooming' himself as I thought by stroking these antennules over and over. He's also kind of 'oiling' these antennules with secretions to keep them clean, and keenly functional! He uses these antennules not just for smelling stuff but for a variety of sensory motor functions. I don't know his Genus or Species but depending on this he may be using them to sense movements in the water, to sense vibrations, for touch, to discern water flow., to notice his own movements and possibly also to be checking for temperature, oxygen, pH, salinity, and noxious stimuli! Antennules are very complex! How cool is THAT! To learn more go to: (www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/full/10.1086/713537)
Fascinating! Thank you for sharing your research! I am hoping that Brady’s work in educating us while entertaining us will not only lead to more budding scientists, but will also persuade adults not to catch, torment, or eat these fascinating creatures.

As someone who was forced to move back in with their parents because I'm having trouble finding a new place to live, I've been depression binging youtube lately. I thought that too, but while I was waiting, I thought he was one lucky guy for almost a year🥰 glad to know he's fine and still happy, whatever that means to a lobster!
I have MS and love Leon's story. I love aquatic animals. I have 9 freshwater aquariums. Being homebound due to MS , my aquariums make me happy. It is difficult going from riding my Harley and driving a muscle car to needing a wheelchair. You are an inspiration saving Leon from the grocery store. I have often wondered if that was possible. Leon is a tough little lobster and did not give up. I just found your videos yesterday. So glad that I did. Keep showing the life of Leon. Thank you.
@@karinegaudet5055 I completely understand. Going from independent to dependent is a hard thing to take. We have to keep trying and never give up, even when we sure do feel like giving up. Stay strong.
I’ve also noticed how more and more increasing comfortable Leon seems when in your care. He’s no longer the motionless creature curled up in the corner like he was in the grocery store. He’s clearly no longer depressed and is starting to act like a normal lobster once again as he did in the wild! You’ve done an amazing job taking care of him despite having no knowledge about how to take care of a lobster when diving into this. Well done man!
@@watchhobbywithdannythemedic Lobsters, like most animals, have their own sets of instincts and behaviors that are present across all of the species. Nearly all lobsters live and behave similarly and have the same general characteristics, lifestyle and instincts when in the wild. We know how Leon behaved in the wild, because we know how all lobsters behave when we observe them in their natural habit. These are innate characteristics and instincts that all lobsters are born with, and will resort to when left to their own devices in a normal habitat setting. Lobsters are not farm raised like some other kinds of seafood, and they are always caught in the wild, so that is where Leon started out before he was caught and ended up in a grocery store. When Brady bought him from the grocery store, he then placed Leon in a habitat closely aligned with what Leon’s natural habitat would be like. Through the progression of the videos, we have been able to observe Leon transform in both appearance, physicality and behavior, and all of those things have gradually resulted in him now behaving like a normal lobster would in their natural habitat. Hence, Leon is now once again back to behaving like he once did in the wild before being caught by humans.
@@watchhobbywithdannythemedic do you not understand how animals work lol lobsters have something called instinct, (which he even mentions in this video!) and that means its in their nature to do what they do. not all animals will have the same set of instincts, but in this case, lobsters are animals who share instinct. thats why leon got threatened at the sight of his own reflection because it was his instinct to act that way, thinking that it could be an uninvited guest. since he is in a home similar to the one he would be in if he were in the wild, he has the instinct to live the way he does, so he wouldve lived the same way he does now.
Leon inspired me to get a blue crawfish I saw at at chain petsmart one day 😭 his name is Louis and I love him so much, he’s so small but has such a distinct personality. I own a lot of reptiles but have never had an aquatic pet other than like fair goldfish, so I love sitting and watching Louis interact with his surroundings ☺️
So very sweet. I used to feed my crayfish with chopsticks. He learned very quickly to beg with his arms up like a little kid when I was nearby. Especially if I had the chopsticks.
@@pamosborn1956 It really was. I learned a lot by watching him. My crayfish, Sebastian. And his best friend, Fish Buddy. They were the first tiny animals who I realized had thoughts and feelings. Even friendships. Who were very aware of their world.
I like to think that Leon moving to an uncovered part of the aquarium means he now feels completely at home, safe and secure in his environment. I’m probably anthropomorphizing him, but who knows, it could be true! And I’m certain his anxiety is much lower than his grocery days. He looks so happy and healthy, it’s awesome to see, well done! And thank you for the updates, I love to see him thriving!🥰
I agree. I know we give animals too much human thoughts. But I also believe we don’t give animals enough credit as to what’s goin on. I’m sure he knows a bit of what’s happening but he is still a lobster and is going to act like one. 🥰
I was randomly recommended your first Leon video and now I'm really invested in his journey. He is so cute and lively. Love to see him developing his true self and just living his best life.
I think of all the lobster being sold in groceries at market price and then I think of Leon, showing the world how valuable a lobster can really be if you treat them as a member of the family and not a meal. He is beautiful, and quite literally the luckiest lobster to have been snatched from the ocean.

In the last year, I've seen a blue one, and two orange ones saved from the dinner table. I refuse to eat lobster. Had one 32 years ago, and I wasn't thrilled with the experience. To kill such a fascinating sea creature for it's tail and claws is just cruel and wasteful. I love following Leon's progress and look forward to each new video. Yeah he seemed perturbed at the brushing against his face feeler things. I imagine it's like poking someone in the eye or sticking your finger up their nose.
I think its because he has leon's antennae in the middle of the little grabby thing. When lobsters fight thats the first thing they have to worry about since its so delicate, so it must have something to do with that.
@@astick5249 I was going to say the same about Brady getting Leon's antennae in the grabber thing. I don't remember him ever doing that before, so maybe Leon thought that WAS taking it too far.
Brady, it’s wonderful and I am relieved that you have your son involved in sea life also. If Leon lives 100 years, he should always have family ready to provide the same care you give him.
I’d love to see you talk to a lobster expert or something if you can at a local aquarium to help explain some behaviour or just shine some more light on how lobsters work. Absolutely love the series and the update! It’s a joy to watch, thank you 🙏
It's so nice seeing an act of kindness affect so many people worldwide. It's wonderful to see a good action being popular. The world needs more kindness.
10 years ago I worked in a fine restaurant. It was a small place, but very expensive. We only had 7 tables, and the captain's table, which was the only table in the place for 12 people. We had an Aquarium the size of a wall. In fact, it was a wall. Since it divided the living room from the kitchen. In it we had practically everything, lobsters, crabs, clams, even oysters and some fish. During my last summer there, the owners decided that maintaining the aquarium was too expensive. So after some debate, there was a long discussion between the owner and his daughter, who defended that the aquarium was part of the restaurant's brand, and the owner who said that the bills were just too expensive. In the end , they ended up removing it, they sold part of the animals to other restaurants, and left only a few that we kept in a much smaller fish tank in front of the restaurant with the "catch of the day" sign. It was more like a box with some stones and shellfish in a decorative theme. One day, the executive chef, who was an underwater fishing enthusiast, showed up with a lobster the size of a cat. I´m not jking , it was the biggest lobster I've ever seen in my life, neither in documentaries nor on the internet had I seen one of that size. It was incredible. At first I was impressed, cuz I though that it was gonna be an easy sell... but as the days went by I began to feel really bad for the poor animal. Although we offered it every night, nobody agreed to pay what they were asking for, 60 Euros for 100 grams, and the animal weighed more than 5 kg. The problem was that in the last months we only had couples and small groups, and none was interested in that huge amount of "food". They kept him for months in that box, without feeding him. Every night they put in the the fridge with a wet towel at his back. And every morning they put him outside in the fish tank under the constant sunlight. During his last days the animal barely moved, but he was still alive. In the end they ended up selling it to a (sry for the expression) a very fat couple. Although, I thought "finally". The worst was yet to happen... I will never forget that night. The cooks stuck a chop knife in its back, the animal that had been dying for months began to move and try to walk on the table while the cooks took selfies and laughed at the movements that the lobster made. that macabre show lasted at least 15 minutes. While some of the waiters entered the kitchen to see what was happening, some left scared and others just laughed along with the cooks. Finally, they cut it open in half, while it was still moving, and put it on the grill. I started to feel dizzy and almost throw up. In the end, I told my boss that I wasn't feeling well, I called a taxi and went home and never went back to that place. After a few weeks, since they had brought it. I had felt the urge to dump it in the bay, even if it cost me my job. but I never did. And looking back, I really dunno why. When I saw this video, and I saw that someone had set up an aquarium to save a lobster. I remembered everything, such a bad memory. I think that if I had been more mature back then, or maybe if I didn´t care that much about money as today, I would probably have done something more to save that poor animal. I applaud what you have done and I wish Leon a long and happy lobster life.
Someday when I have a little more money, theres a tank of lobsters in a grocery store or a restaurant who are going to be given a stay of execution. I'll get them all out. And if I can, I'll try to rehabilitate them so they have a better chance of surviving in the wild. Your comment inspired me to do that so you can think of it as a redemption.
@@jond4324 This guy doing these videos is obviously very knowledgeable, skilled and meticulous. If you do have plans like that please make sure you do your research.
I had no idea lobsters were this smart. I thought they were kinda like spiders in that they just run on autopilot and actually thinking makes them stressed. But no, it's a funny looking water cat. I love how he actually recognises you as the person who feeds him.
I don't underestimate any living thing The only animals I can't quite figure out are Jelly Fish Wth are they thinking Why don't they run into each other
Back when I was a kid I had two pet Goldfish that were born brothers, Bubbles and Chunk. Chunk had a disability that prevented him from using his left fin, and whenever I would feed them, Bubbles would always push him up to the surface such that his right fin was out of the water so that he could eat all the food without any competition. When Chunk eventually died, we decided to get a bunch of smaller fish to keep him company. In less than a week he had cannibalized them in order to keep the food to himself, which I didn't even know goldfish could or would do. Most amusingly of all, I learned that if you ever shined a laser pointer into his aquarium, he would chase it like a cat, which I've never seen a Goldfish do before. He lived to be about 12 years old thanks to all his survival instincts, which also included sucking on the pebbles at the bottom of the bowl if he was ever still hungry after I had fed him, and really gave me a new perspective when thinking about just how intelligent a simple animal like a goldfish really could be.
Leon's story is just remarkable. He was supposed to die so a human could eat him, but instead he got adopted by a human and is living his best life. So heartwarming 🥰

Oh god, when I got the notification "News about Leon" my stomach sank, I can't believe how devastated I was about the prospect that he might have passed away! Amazing how invested I've become in a crustacean who lives on the other side of the world. I'm so glad it was good news after all, congrats Leo, you're a real celebrity! Great to see him again :)
All the time I've ever lived by the ocean. Worked in a fish market in high school. Had many lobster meals. Never have I ever watched them interact or see their behaviors. Really quite special. Probably won't eat lobster anymore thanks Leon.
I went to Red Lobster with friends today and all I could think of was Leon! It actually sickened me to see the Lobsterfest menu. I think my lobster days are over, also.
This is silly. People need to realize and accept the meat they eat was once an animal. I fed a calf milk and I later ate its meat. It's good for anyone to do this, so that when you're occasionally confronted with something like this - someone keeping a food animal as a pet - you don't suffer cognitive dissonance. Every animal you eat can be cute and clever and quirky. It's still food, and you should still eat it.

I think Leon, has become so comfortable and secure in his surroundings, that he now is craving interaction, and placed himself in the corner of the aquarium where he can be closest to the other creatures.
So long as you keep caring for him, Leon has a good chance to outlive you. Lobsters get bigger and bigger but they also just kind of stop aging, senessence just sort of doesnt happen for them. They stay vital and in their prime right up to death, and they can live 35-45 years in the wild.
Leon is a very handsome lobster. Ever since I was little going to the grocery store with my mother, I wanted to rescue the lobsters. They always look so sad. My son has salt water tanks and knows a lot about them and he said if I want to do it he would help me :)
You would have to be okay with a _MANY_ decades long commitment (quite possibly the rest of your life!), investment in an expensive large tank (and room in your home for it with no plans of moving to a place that wouldn’t have enough room for such a large tank, or moving out of the country, etc), and obviously constant upkeep/tank cleaning, buying nice fresh food for it every week, and perhaps even supplying some intellectual stimulation or companionship for it somehow, if necessary. I know that most bird/parrot owners quickly regret taking on such a long commitment because they don’t fully grasp how much goes into it, and will sadly give their bird away to a rescue or interested party within the first few years when they are over the amount of time and effort that is require for their companion to be happy and healthy and well cared for - they simply become inconvenient. But the birds always suffer immensely being handed off to new owners because they become very depressed/anxious from such a drastic change, often resorting to self-harm by neurotically plucking out their feathers. 😢 They are very intelligent and emotional beings, and sadly so many owners will neglect these birds, making things even worse. The typical parrot goes through _MANY_ owners in its lifetime because of how long they live, so it is especially selfish and egregious for an older person to get a young parrot or pet that is destined to live for many decades. Lobsters obviously don’t require the amount of affection and time being spent with them that birds require, but if they are well taken care of, they too will indeed live for decades. They will require you to be decently young/live long enough for that super long commitment, so that they hopefully won’t go through any more than one other owner besides you - as well as you knowing that you will always have room for their large tank and will be fit enough to maintain it routinely for a long time, etc.. And considering that there is no such thing as lobster rescues, I’m guessing that it if it wasn’t a dear friend or family member that happily took in your lobster, it is sadly likely someone would lie to you or the lobster’s next owner about their intentions, choosing to eat the poor thing if it needed to be re-homed because it outlived you, or you needed to move to a smaller place/a place that wouldn’t allow large aquatic tanks/out of the country/etc.. I absolutely hope that more people rescue lobsters, but those that do need to first be sure to thoroughly think it through, and not take the serious commitment on in an impulse. I love that your son is willing to help you! I would hope that the plan would also include his promise to you that he will take the lobster on as his personal pet life-long commitment if you die before the lobster dies, which is very likely when you read about how incredibly long they can live in captivity (or he’ll take in the lobster earlier if you become unable to properly care for it due to health problems from older age, etc).. My intent is to not discourage you from such a noble choice to rescue such an incredible creature - one that obviously doesn’t deserve any of the suffering torment/torture and early death they are all being put through. My only intent is to remind you to thoroughly inform yourself before you go through with it. I got my parrot when I was only 16, for my birthday, whilst not really understanding what a huge commitment I was taking on at the time. *COUNTLESS* sacrifices have been made in my life because of my serious commitment to him. My older brother, on the other hand, grossly got and re-homed 3 parrots within the span of 5 years or so, just because he didn’t take the commitment seriously and they became “inconvenient” (even worse, he was not their first owner either!). I can’t fathom the amount of emotional and probably even physical pain those parrots have gone through in their lives just because they were handed off from owner to owner (if they are even still alive that is, because so many “accidents” happen with bad/ignorant/neglectful caretaking, causing very early deaths). It breaks my heart just thinking about it. Sorry for such a long post, and sorry if this was too depressing and ending it on such a sad note! Forgive me, and take care. :)
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Thank you for such a compassionate, well written, accurate explanation of what a long term commitment to a parrot (and a lobster) entails. I have a macaw, and have taken in several older birds, whose circumstances changed, and was there for them when they crossed the rainbow bridge.

The part where he was mad and threw the food out made me laugh.
What makes this series different than other popular animals is that you don’t start to post too often! They way you slowly but steadily release updates is in the perfect timing in my opinion! This way we get news from Leon but even a small break in between.
Wow. Just... _WOW._ I found my way to this 3rd Leon installment from his rescue from the grocery store and I just want to say thank you. It's hard for human beings to understand animals sometimes, but "even" this lobster has great affection and gratitude for you. It's very clear from your evolving relationship. When you took the bands off and were testing his claws daily... he knew exactly what was up and enjoyed his therapy. Videos like your's help people to see and experience a small glimpse of the great work you and those like you do. It helps them see that all living creatures deserve love, compassion and respect. _THANK YOU_ ❤
Love the Leon update! But the jelly fish were so cool. I can’t believe how many sizes and shapes there are. They are super cool and so soothing and peaceful to just sit and watch. 🦞
Leon's coloring has done a complete turnaround from when you first rescued him--he's gone from gray to vivid colors. Living with you agrees with him, even if he did get a little upset with you for a bit there. This channel should get an award for most wholesome on youtube!
Your son’s “Mad Lab” is PHENOMENAL! Thank you and him for showing us! I never knew keeping jellyfish was actually a hobby for some people. The only time I’ve ever seen tanks like that with live jellyfish was in actual Aquariums. Very impressive and very cool!
I have followed Leon’s journey from the very beginning, and what a brilliant journey to watch from subdued to the most spoiled lobster. Long may he continue and with such a caring keeper like you who knows what dizzying heights he will achieve.🇬🇷😎
There are days I wake up feeling about 1000 years old and I wish I could clean my eyeballs in the same elegant way that Leon does! Every time I watch a Leon update and see his profound awareness of his world, it reinforces the conviction all the more that it simply isn't right in any way whatsoever to do to lobsters what humans do to them...
I been enjoying these videos since day one! I've shared this beautiful story with ANYONE AND EVERYONE who will listen. The comments sum it up well. Wholesome, inspiring, genuine, beautiful, educational and in every way amazing. I will be getting a shirt and continuing to spread the word and support the channel. Bye Brady, Love you Leon!
I found this on Google... Most lobsters that you see in a grocery store or at a restaurant are at least 5-7 years old and weigh about 1-2 pounds. But lobsters can be much bigger and much older. They could live to be over 100 years old!
@@ryanellis642 Brady addressed this kind of comment early on. Here he can live out in peak health and care, not to mention he has constant funding to make his life better through these videos.
@@ryanellis642 And get trapped again? And finally eaten? Releasing an marine animal is not the same as releasing a land living one. I remember years and years ago, California made it law that it was illegal to keep aquatic animals. So everyone released them. They all shortly died because they'd swim in circles because that's all they've ever known. It's also a very delicate timeline. Too short and Leon would be too weak to survive. Too long and he'll become dependent on Brady and he won't have the basic survival lessons.
Leon truly is world-changing lobster :) teached so many of us that they are such a nice companions not just part of the food-chain, hoping long and peacefully life to u leo and some new news too
Hey Brady! I've been following Leon while pursuing my linguistics degree! Did you know there's actually a lot of research already done on how crustaceans communicate? They use the clicking of their claws to show food, shelter and even small emotions! It's worth a look
Leon looks amazing, him getting upset over the jousting & tossing his "olive branch" food offering was too cute. BUT OMG THOSE JELLYFISH WOW!!! Would love to see some more of those, your son definitely inherited his passion for unique sea critters from you. How cool to see thanks for sharing both of your dedication & hard work.
I am absolutely impressed. Leon looked dingy and broken and now he is very vibrant. So encouraging in these dark times. I love your commentary and the music. You do a great job. Thank you.
I love your narration, your voice, and the times where you point out a feature about Leon and then rest the camera to just let us observe. You've done an incredible thing here rescuing and sharing the experience with this wonderful creature. Thank you .

I accidentally came upon Leon’s video thanks to RUclips algorithm but m so glad coz like so many people in the comment section we feel a connect with Leon ♥️
I was afraid this was about Leon's death. I'm glad he's OK. Amazing the connection one can have via RUclips for a sea bottom arachnid crustacean. It's cool you saved him from his boiling pot fate. *Keeping a Grocery Store Lobster as a Pet* Interesting! I’ll check this out… Four episodes of Leon later and I was hooked. Thank you for sharing Leon’s journey with us!
I was the same haha, I watched the first video on my phone, but was so interested that I ended up getting them up on my TV, and spent about 3 hours watching all the updates 😂 I was absolutely hooked

So, being a curious person I simply HAD to learn more about these and here is what I found out:
Those little antenna are called antennules!

@@watchhobbywithdannythemedic you looking hella goofy rn
@@watchhobbywithdannythemedic "how on earth would you factually know this?" 🤓🤓🤓
@@watchhobbywithdannythemedic do you not understand how animals work lol
lobsters have something called instinct, (which he even mentions in this video!) and that means its in their nature to do what they do. not all animals will have the same set of instincts, but in this case, lobsters are animals who share instinct. thats why leon got threatened at the sight of his own reflection because it was his instinct to act that way, thinking that it could be an uninvited guest. since he is in a home similar to the one he would be in if he were in the wild, he has the instinct to live the way he does, so he wouldve lived the same way he does now.

@@mujtaba853 I heard that
10 years ago I worked in a fine restaurant.
What a sad and depressing story. 😥

That's really sad. The poor animal tortured and humans with no compassion or empathy.
Leon might not be cuddly. But he is so loved by many around the world. Congratulations on the book Leon from Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺
I just want to say thank you for picking up a homeless lobster in a deadly situation. 💖
As an educator let me tell you! This book needs to happen, it’ll add such value in the classroom
I’m not even an educator and I can see how much it’ll help.
I had no idea lobsters were this smart. I thought they were kinda like spiders in that they just run on autopilot and actually thinking makes them stressed. But no, it's a funny looking water cat. I love how he actually recognises you as the person who feeds him.
Not all spiders are running on autopilot. Look into the jumping spiders. Their cognitive abilities are fascinating.
"actually thinking makes them stressed". Ummm, that's not really how that works.
I don't underestimate any living thing
The only animals I can't quite figure out are Jelly Fish
Wth are they thinking
Why don't they run into each other
Water cat ? XD i like that
Back when I was a kid I had two pet Goldfish that were born brothers, Bubbles and Chunk.
He's trapped in a tank
@@bmjames Yes and most people stay in their house and are happy. Your point?
@@bmjames to me it looks like he has a good life. He doesn't seem to need an infinite amount of space.

It's beyond crazy. The truth is, we all like Brady's story telling.

Probably won't eat lobster anymore thanks Leon.
yea i offically cant do lobster >.
I went to Red Lobster with friends today and all I could think of was Leon! It actually sickened me to see the Lobsterfest menu. I think my lobster days are over, also.
Most lobster you buy isn’t worth it anyway taste-wise. If I can’t confirm it was sourced ethically, I’m not consuming it period

@@Jolene1719 being eaten .I'm sure Leon would enjoy the fact that old mate enjoyed him in death as much as he did in life.
@@Jolene1719 not just freedom, although I totally agree that’s a major theme in the end. It’s also about multi species cooperation and old fashioned kindness from one life form to another.
@@Jolene1719 I’m sure the lobster who’s been hand fed in an aquarium for the last year+ would transition wonderfully back into nature virtually problem free!! FREEEEEEEEEEEDOM FOR LEON!!!!
Leon is so colorful now. The good food you are feeding him really helps so much.
Leon is a very handsome lobster. Ever since I was little going to the grocery store with my mother, I wanted to rescue the lobsters. They always look so sad. My son has salt water tanks and knows a lot about them and he said if I want to do it he would help me :)
Nice!
They are very intelligent and emotional beings, and sadly so many owners will neglect these birds, making things even worse.
Most lobsters that you see in a grocery store or at a restaurant are at least 5-7 years old and weigh about 1-2 pounds. But lobsters can be much bigger and much older. They could live to be over 100 years old!

@@ryanellis642 And get trapped again? And finally eaten? Releasing an marine animal is not the same as releasing a land living one. I remember years and years ago, California made it law that it was illegal to keep aquatic animals. So everyone released them.
