    Really love this concept. I could swallow the extra cost for a custom long action AR platform.
    But $100 for extra 5-round magazines is _ridiculously_ spicy. Even 20-round mags for $100 would be salty, but damn fellas.

      At least produce a 20 round mag. It's not a bolt action precision rifle, it's gas gun. So it is more of a battle rifle. 20 rounds would make it a fun gun to shoot.

    I have bought 2 uppers from BCA. The standard rear charging .556 seems to work ok. The right side charging .308 i bought had problems out of the box. Would not feed or eject correctly. Fine. Things happen. I tried emailing customer service 2 times over several months. Got no reply. I was in no real hurry as winter in N.Y. makes it difficult to find range time when it is snowing and 10 degrees. Finally called and got a reply a week later with a return notice for the warranty. All good. Got the gun back after a week or 2. opened the box and had the same upper (which is fine) covered in oil and metal shavings with no paperwork at all. No explanation of what was wrong or what was corrected. My biggest problem with this whole process is that i sent in 2 reviews and the first one mysteriously disappeared and the second one they actually put on their website was heavily edited. I get that products can be defective. Especially products that are at the lower end of the price spectrum. I will even concede that eventually i was able to use the warranty ( I actually have not tried to take the gun to the range yet so jury is still out) but my main problem is their poor communication and rather heavy handed editing of my honest review on their website.

      @@Bear_Creek_Arsenal great, however he clearly notes you guys deleted one review and heavily edited the other. If you stand by your product and assuming quality control. One it would not be covered in oil and metal shavings. Secondly you would not need to delete a review unless it was highly uncalled for or not a real review. Let alone heavily edit the second review. I hope he took pictures..
      Now I see on many outlets of customers reporting sharp edges, metal shavings, and function issues of Bear Creek firearms. Often enough the price looks like it's lower than normal for reasons. Such as not totally finished but just good enough. Given how my state was allowed to force in unconstitutional laws. I did not get the opportunity to order anything, though a few I wanted to. I just do not see if other owners report actions like this. Should I even think about trying it out?
      I see a standard PR reply that ignores the context of the customer comment. Would not surprise me if you choose to delete this comment. It's a grounded response to the company that is in the 2A club. Meaning those in said club can and probably have thoughts on company action. There are a few others who are borderline pop ups. Bear Creek clearly is around to stay, so do more than copy paste reply.

At this point you end up needing to go to a dedicated gun for that caliber and it ends up being very expensive, at least in my experience, I could be wrong though, I don't know everything lol. But the bc8 platform can provide shooters with long caliber options while still being able to swap uppers and customize with some 15/10 parts. Your response is a little hard to read. Are you saying that your having trouble with yours? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
      I have had 3 50beo guns at this point; the 16 and 18in and a true bufferless pistol with 7? or 10.5? barrel that I built (I forgot the barrel length and I don't have it in front of me to double check). Excluding the single shot pistol, the rifles work great stock with alexander arms 350 grain and underwood 420 grain extreme penetrator ammo. I'm pretty sure the lowers I've used with them were bc lowers, if not they were palmetto's. I've had good success with mine. It's possible you got a rubbish part. If I was in your shoes I'd bring it up with bear creek arsenal, maybe they'll take a look at it or (hopefully) replace anything that's bad. I hope everything goes well for you.
      I've named the pistol "big and stupid" and 420 grains through that thing hurts like the dickens, it's like catching a fast ball with your bear hands lol, but boy is it exciting lol.

A video in the future explaining the reason why this cartridge was picked for this application would be a good idea. Questions regarding mag size should also be addressed as well. It seems to me that there is little the 30-06 is going to offer compared to the slightly cheaper and slightly more common .308 (depending on the purchasers location) so the reason why the 30-06 was picked would be a good idea. What should be expected from this platform as well as many would be familiar with AR10 platforms and their compatibility issues across various manufacturers. Perhaps something addressing why I the purchaser should become invested in an BC-8 p[latform. Im intrigued but not sold.... yet.

From screws being loose and dust covers not locking to being very overgassed. It makes it hard to want to keep buying these kinds of products. Got to wonder if a heavier caliber will make the parts just fall off

    I'm not smart so I'm going to ask a stupid question! Why are there no .357 Magnum PCC's/ Rifles? I seen a guy build an AR .357 about a year ago with a lower that used Desert Eagle Mags, WHY? No AK's either! Has anyone tried it on a Thompson?

    • @CheeseBurgerXJ
      @CheeseBurgerXJ 8 месяцев назад +3

      I think it has to do with feeding a rimmed round that makes it difficult and/or unreliable

    • @actionjksn
      @actionjksn 8 месяцев назад +1

      Rimmed cartridges do not feed reliably from a magazine, it has been done but it's not great. A 10 mm has about the same ballistic performance and is available and reliable. If you're using factory ammunition and not reloading you will actually usually get slightly more performance out of the 10 mm, but the two rounds are very close enough to be considered equal..

    • @CriticalClay03
      @CriticalClay03 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@CheeseBurgerXJIve seen a replica of the Thompson come out recently because it was cool sadly it was crap. Having said that the originals worked fine why not .357? • @celmer6
      @celmer6 8 месяцев назад +1

      Dude buy a Lever Action rifle if you are stuck on 357 Magnum cartridge. 357 Magnum and it's Big fat rim is best left in Revolver's and tube fed rifles NOT box magazines. 357 Magnum Desert Eagle is lame because of the capacity and that is because of the Big fat rim that doesn't work well for stacking in box magazines. Plus the prices that I have seen for 357 Magnum lately are ranging from $75-$115 per Box of 50.
      If you actually want usability then get a PCC chambered in 357 SIG/40 S&W or 10mm.

    Still trying to figure out why the BCA is a full $1,000 more than the Great lakes GL10. After handling both in person there isn't a lot of difference as far as quality goes in machining it and finish. Great lakes comes with a stainless barrel versus your carbon barrel.
    The other question I have is why the hell has everyone came up with this five round magazine. Should have at least been 10. Plenty of space to do so. I understand the magazine would have to have a curve to it. But five rounds is kind of just sad for what this is.
