Kyuss was one of a kind. But Slomosa from Bergen has a bit Kyuss, some early QOTSA and maybe a little bit of Asteroid (Sweden) in their music. I was at their last show in 2024, in my and their hometown last December. And that concert was a big eye opener for me. Check out Slomosa.
I’ve run into exactly 2 bands kinda like this in LA. One time I walked in on accident. The other time I went to the wrong show. There’s still great guitar music. You just gotta keep livin’ man.
Awesome performance all round! I really appreciated the ear-muffs on the drummer - he protected himself and clearly didn't give a damn how it looked or what anyone else said or did in the less hearing-conscious 90s.
Josh Homme stands out mainly due to the fact he followed up with music that was commercially successful. He really isn't all that great a guitar player in a technical sense, it's when you combine his sound and the richness offered by that about to district bass sound that something unique is created. John Garcia is the standout in this group in my opinion, there's very few voices out there that can WORK with this sound!
Ooooooooosh! 😝 In times of Covid this song gets even more powerful. 🤘 Such a smashing band. Shame they split but then QOTSA, so...! ✊ The further the 90s are away from me the more I realise how lucky I was to have been there and how music, and society, misses the greatness of bands of that era. 👏
Been on a Kyuss rediscovery. Nobody sounded like this in '91-'95 (Obsessed, Saint Vitus, Pentagram similar). Now there are so many great "stoner rock" bands _partly_ because of Kyuss.
They’re kinda metal and doom-y, like true grunge. They just don’t have a pop instinct, which is why they weren’t big. I think they’re cooler than grunge.
One of the saddest realizations in life is knowing there will never be another Kyuss
Grasshopper. You have much to learn.
@@madmex6526 Chino Vista is not Kyuss homie. It can never be Kyuss without Josh
We have Kyuss already we don't need 2.

What I would give to go back to be as old as I am now (26) in the 90s to witness bands like these live
I’m exactly the same age as u, and I say that everyday to myself

I'm going to assume the ear muffs were because he was playing to a tick and nothing to do with the possibility of hearing loss
Gotta be Top 10 heavy riffs of the 1990's
Great band. They have a great guitarist, don't know who he is but i guess he could make a carreer on is own.
😂😂😂
slo burn > QOTST. Fight me

@sonofaseawarrior: agree 1000%. 👌
I was amongst the crowd there, a 32 year old girl - now 27 years later ... still one of my favourite bands... 💥😊
@@ciwi9578 There?! AMAZING! 😁
Death metal, stoner rock, grunge, hardcore, even the late days of glam. The 90s were awesome.
Los proyectos musicales duran lo que duran y no combine extenderlos artificialmente.
this is what getting all the right people together sounds like
Between this and Gardenia I think what’s impressive is the crowd they’ve drawn backstage.
