I watched this and cried my eyes out.. the realisation of we all get old.. this is in my top 3 of all time. Robert knight we thank you. R.I.P Sir you left us with GOLD....
You must be Taylor then, your father was very talented and my condolences. My father always loved Robert Knights song for the trumpets and brass compared to the other compositions. Found this video trying to recapture the memories.
Something about a man, well past his prime, singing this song is really sweet. He may not sound as good as he once did, but you can tell he still means it.
Unquestionably one of the greatest songs of all time. The number of people who copied it shows what a significant song it was. Watching Robert W. Knight perform it one last time brought tears to my eyes. Was unaware that he had passed away. But just like "Everlasting Love," Mr. Knight will forever.
My wife and I were lucky enough to have a daughter attending Vanderbilt University when Mr. Knight was being honored at halftime of a Vanderbilt Commodore's football game. Mr. Knight sang everlasting love with the marching band. It was fantastic the students and fans were rocking. I'll never understand why this didn't become a tradition at Vandy. Mr. Knight worked at Vanderbilt for some 20 years.
Remember this well. One of my all time favorites in the sixties. He took it all to the finish line. I'm a lifelong musician. I hope to follow his example. Rest in Peace Robert Knight. It's a love that lasts forever.
Rip : Robert Knight (April 24 1945 - November 5 2017) best known for the 1967 original recording of "Everlasting Love" since covered by a lot of others.
I am both happy and sad that I just tuned into this. I was with a friend the other day and this song came on the radio. I said, " God, I just love this". So I came home and went to RUclips to listen to it again. I had no idea that Mr. Knight had left us, but delighted in how much I enjoyed his work. Seeing him get up there to bring this to us one more time made me cry. Thank you Sir. Now I believe you sing with the angles.
I was in an aerobics class today and the instructor played this song... suddenly, fond and pleasant memories came flashing back as I was doing the punch and curl and the jab ... I cried out, Bring back the 70s! I got home and had to look it up!!! What a great melody! Yes, bring back the 70s!
Thank you so much for this video. There is no substitute for the original 'Everlasting Love'. Robert Knight said that he has got grand kids and is so tire of making love, physical love that is. But anyone who can write those beautiful words could never be out of love. His body might be old, but his heart is probably full of love. As he is the original everlasting love. God Bless Robert Knight.
I look up his profile and Robert Knight is only 69 years old. I guess when he said " I have grand kids, whole lots of children. I'm tire of making love " he was not kidding. He made so much physical love that he has deplete his Vital Essence and is now old and shrivel up for a 69 years old. But I guess if he had to go, it least he went out in a bang.
We all have some memories tied up in His Music and will all miss it dearly. but In the words of the great Cat Stevens, I have to say that we're getting older, a little older with every day We were the Children of yesterday.
THIS WAS 1967SONG MY GIRL friend TOLD ME WOULD BE OUR SONG EVERLASTING LOVE, IT IS FROM 1967We MADE LOVE AT MY MOTHER'S HOUSE,+ WITH IN A YEAR WE GOT MARRIED SHE WAS VERY HAPPY+I ALSO WAS REALLY HAPPY 2016We KNOW EACH OTHER FOR ALMOST 50Years
The one and only true everlasting love is God sending his only begotten Son to die for our sins. We are all sinners in need of a Savior. Don't be a fool forever. Trust in Jesus before it's too late. Peace out.
REAL MUSIC unlike today. People today don't even know how they let Satan into their lives by listening to the demonic noise produced now. Thank God I did not fall for the gutter trash. Love you Jesus my Savior. Amen !
ZEP2405 Provident просто кайф жизни, очень приятно слушать жалко человека такие талантливые люди умирают Дио Ронни Джеймс, Фредди Меркурия, Роберт кнайт, дэмис руоссос
1) that guitarist in the back didn't even bother to learn the song! 2) the band didn't bother to work out an ending!! 3) that MC is awful! Shame on them all!

You’re so right. 100%.❤
It’s so sad to see him go downhill and just knowing that he passed away 2017. That was always my favorite song.
Probably one of his last filmed performances. My Dad and Mac Gayden wrote this song. Robert was a very sweet, true gentlemen. God rest his soul.
Really?
@@jorgezarco9269 If his dad is Buzz Cason, which his username is tcason. Pretty cool.

I too cried at this. I can feel strength through the fragility of his voice. Thank you for setting the bar. You are missed, Robert.
Robert Knights version is hands down the best version.
Something about a man, well past his prime, singing this song is really sweet. He may not sound as good as he once did, but you can tell he still means it.
God Bless Mr Knight. You sang with your heart and soul! R.I.P.
This performance was a celebration of Robert Knight's life, while he was still living!
