I always get a huge kick out of seeing Adrian perform. I've seen him solo and with the Power Trio but sadly never with Crimson. I just love seeing him make extremely twisted and overtly disjointed music with such a sense of glee and humor. He really 'plays' with the music in a way few do/can.
@@jonathanedwards8696 I believe it. Twang Bar King rocks. That time period was amazing for Adrian. Coming off of all those tours playing for Zappa, Bowie, Crimson and the Heads I'm sure really prepped Adrian for his early solo tours.
@@WarlikePeace Yes! They must have played for two hours and they did most of the material from "Lone Rhino," and Twang Bar King." The sax player was incredible and he and Adrian were really good at mimicking each other. They do that a bit on TBK but they were doing it all night at the gig and laughing out loud about it. One of my favorite shows!
Fripp reminds me of some movie bad guy who comes off as so cultured and precise - but is a wacko murderer in reality. Nobody wields a guitar like Mr. Fripp. A master.
I'm sure we all have our favorite KC period (I prefer the "Larks-Starless-Red" line up) but every incarnation of King Crimson is amazing. Thanks for the upload.
Actually I don't think I have a favorite period! Some of the artier "proggie" stuff between ITCooCK and LTiA is maybe "not as good" imho, but the way they've been doing it live recently has totally revivified it and it's better than ever, better than it seemed. No other rock band has remained so consistently strong for so long, so much itself through so many innovative style and personnel changes.
This lineup in the video i would say is the most spontaneous/progressive lineup, in respect to the live improvisations, and the lineup after that in 2003. I just love the e drums
Bonn: Stubby Fingers Conegliano: Chubby Fingers Nashville: Slimy Fingers Eyes Wide Open: Sticky Fingers Original: Spotty Fingers Belew has indeed many names for Robert Fripp's playing technique also, 25:09 Mad scientist strums his guitar like if there was no tomorrow
I believe the original was "spidey fingers." I've also seen live concert video -- I forget which one -- in which Adrian, at that same point in "Oyster Soup," exclaims, "Ah, play it for me, Mr. Fribble!"
I just couldn't make the DC concert this year Mr. Fripp but I have enjoyed your Pandemic home video performances ;). I will aim to catch your next tour.
I didn't realise Heavy ConstruKction had been deleted (I do have it on CD, but it came as a shock), this is a great half-hour of the first Crimcarnation I got to see live.
I know KC have never liked being filmed, but I'm glad they made exceptions for this close-up live stuff here and in Bonn. Gives you a real feel of not just the wild electric edge they were riding but of the bodies in motion riding it.
This has to be the best opening to any KC concert ever. Fripp getting so visible angry at some douche photographing him with a flash, which is strictly forbidden at KCconcerts anyway and then just changing the tone of his gtr and play something else entirely
the all-electric kit seems so crazy now, (no cymbals???) but this is super fun....I kinda would like to see this incarnation come up with another album and one more tour.... even though I have immensely enjoyed the latest 8 headed beast monster
Quella sera ero li.
man, there is so much to love here. The combination of Belew and Fripp is amazing. Intricate and funky at the same time. Sex sleep eat drink dream!!!!!
This lineup just can't improvise as well as the early 70s line-up could. It doesn't even sound like they're listening to each other, and they're ALL playing too many notes.

I've seen him with Crimson, but the most fantastic Adrian show I ever saw was his support of his "Twang Bar King" album. He was totally "on."

Improvisations are timeless, they are the essence of KC and R. Fripp
@@terrygunzales9101 That is a KC lineup yes
The Improv sections from this era are so amazing.

The inimitable Adrian Below
well suported for a "Monster" of progressive rock…...
28:05: Around Mr. Fripp moths go inexorably mad.
Unimaginably fantastic, as always.
RIP Keith Tippet, who, it always seemed to me, Fripp was paying homage to on his piano-synth solo here.
this drummer knows whats good

Not deleted now!

Adrian with Crimson, NOW!
Nah.
la perfección musical ....genius King Crimson
It’s true someone’s comment as king crimson are the geniuses.

1:40 would the gentleman pass me his camera?
Fripp's always at his best when he has good people to play 'against,' rather than with. (Just an opinion; not a fact.)
Astonishing performance!
Pat Mastelotto👍👍
Está muy corto el vídeo. Puedo estar horas escuchando al rey. Música que va más allá de querer ser original. Te vuela la cabeza.
i was there :-)

Fripp the pianist.
Fripp the penis
@@prodevus ha ha 🙂
There should be a DVD of all that material, especially the improvs!
It is called ThrackAtaCk or something like that, it is around an hour of pure 90s improvs.
i was...and at the end of the concert i spent evening with them....amazing luck!!!
Gran período fué Aquel de Adrian Belew...
Excuse me I'm not a english native, I meant to say, "Pictures of future"
Pat is very like Drumming! Master!
Дача, коньячок и шашлычок - и все пройдет.
So good! Wish Adrien would go on tour with Robert again....
Don’t make Fripp use the midi piano on you due to your own ego
Thanks for Improv I & II . Nice moogish bassline on II.
So great to see them having so much fun!
I'm sure Adrian would make a funeral march "fun" too.
fucking awesome!
the bass in improvII is so cool...somehow fripp falls so deeply into the early 2000s sound that he quote a section from frying pan in the middle?!
Why did you deactivated comments option in your more recent posts?
arbraulin Because BELEW isn't in the Lineup... AND Well.... I think you can.. figure it out.
Incredible.......as usual.

Wow. Fripp angry. Not getting the sound he wanted to play, i suppose?

Heavy ConstruKction no longer "deleted". It is now back in print though likely only for a limited time/quantity.
Telling the truth, I had not seen the band in Concerts. You all are very lucky guys.
First time i see Trey Gunn with non-touchstyle instrument :) i think it is ashbory bass
Thank you . ( 2024 / Aug / 10 )

Wonderfull, very good, one of the best fripp inspiration moments. night light at Conegliano
On the bass, Derek Smalls. He wrote this.
great music, excellent quality

The name of 3 track is Seizure, non è un improvvisazione
So there is video to this...will this ever be released on DVD/bluray? Audio is fine, but I wanna see these guys fire away.
It was. Eventually. The Heaven And Earth box. Thank goodness.
5:44 I like it.
this concert is one of the most powerful I had the chance to see (thanks youtube and DGM live)
Wild!
Insane music that's why i love King Crimson.
not insane something for the future
is there any possibility that this beauty has been released on DVD? If yes, which DVD?

Which bass did Trey play in the "Sex, Sleep, Eat, Drink, Dream"? Its neck looks as short as that of a guitar, like the strat Adrian has.
Looks like an Ashbory bass.
yeah! Ashbory bass for sure.

Surely, it’s their music not yours... or ours...
Maybe they’d agree or maybe disagree, it’s not for us to comment how many notes they want to play.
