Widespread Panic performs David Bowie's "Heroes" live at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA on December 31, 2015. Shot & edited by Andy Tennille Audio mix by Brett Orrison
There are a few guitarists , when they play their solo, you hold your breath , and you realize that , only when it's over , and then you breathe again . Jimmy Herring is one of these players .
Yeah that s*** is awesome sounds just like Bowie I saw them Spotsylvania with with Keller Williams a long time ago they've come a long way is insane how far they have come
I've been religiously following this band for 24 years. I listen to them all the time and these moments when I just get chills from how good, from how heartfelt their music is just never stops. It happens constantly. Thank you Widespread Panic, you are the soundtrack to my life and you are amazing.
+Caveman1003 Totally. I feel that way exactly. I've been on the bus for 20 years this April if you're counting shows, and 25 if you're counting just listening. My 12-year-old daughter has more shows under her belt than a lot of heads!
That’s bad ass Caveman, I just commented about the chills. People always ask why I go see Panic so often, they ask how many times, hell if I know, lost count after 150, but I remember every chill. That’s what I’ve always chased and you can’t ever put a value or a time frame on any of it. You cannot ever top the feeling of listening to the boys get “there” and you almost shed a tear because that moment, well the moment is the best thing I’ve ever felt. That’s what we chase.
Absofuckinglutely! 23 years for me in November (Calvin '98). Very few bands give the live performance that these boys do and somehow they never fail to surprise us. *I TRUSTED YOU* The fans are at least half the experience, though. I have met some of the kindest & most genuine freaks following this band where ever I can! God damn I miss these shows more than anything right now & can't wait to Get the Show On the Road!!! XOXO
@@michaelfile6477 i was tell those folks.....if you know, Ya know. If you don't, damn I hate you don't but no reason to explain it because you won't understand until you feel it
Jimmy Herring is up there with David Gilmour. Instantly identifiable. Shout out to the horns too! Crazy great cover! Same for "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" ..both songs from (New Years in Atlanta 2015)
Just like when the boys played "High Time We Went," in Colorado shortly before Joe Cocker passed. Love the respect for ailing musicians … RIP David, hope the view from wherever you are is fantastic.
Used to go see these guys in Atlanta in the early 80s all the time that and another band called The Grapes those were the fun days of Youth, cool cars chicks with feathered hair and and rafting down the Chattahoochee drinking Budweiser
Wasn’t there, but I remember streaming the show on Mixlr and getting the same chills five years ago that I’m getting tonight listening again...that’s what it’s about...all the shows just chasing that moment when those chills run down your arms and you’re home. Standing there with that stupid smile that nobody could ever take away. Heroes.
~WSP~ Time and time again 'the boys'make the World a better place , for a particular spot in time or just for one day! Thanks for 'being' the soundtrack to happiness!
Man, Can young trucks jam or what?! I miss Todd a lot but Duane has really brought a much needed energy for the boys to come back to life! Cant wait for Milwookie and Broomfield!
Saw them at Riverfest in Columbus Ga 20 plus years ago. What a great surprise. Great band I mean it was as big of crowd I've ever seen there for Riverfest.
Great tone and style of that Jimmy Herring.... and do you hear him play the Dave Davies riff from the Celluloid heroes intro.... but it’s still distinctly Jimmy H too.
Not sure, bro. But... I was more focused on Lou's voice and lyrics for sure. Yet, if we broke into Jimmy's house, I suspect we'd trip over many Lou and Velvets' vinyls!
Love this band - the music just flows out of them. no flash bang, no heroics, no stunts, just flows

Well said Susan 😎

No, they had no idea of Bowies condition. That makes the prescience so amazing.

Heros they are
Man, Can young trucks jam or what?! I miss Todd a lot but Duane has really brought a much needed energy for the boys to come back to life! Cant wait for Milwookie and Broomfield!
Todd and Mike Houser started this band and, sadly, both are gone. They aren't as loyal as the Grateful Dead were but that's how it is.
They sound amazing
I love Bowies original...but Widespread Panic does an awesome job with it too.
Beautiful as always 🔥
My favorite guitar angels on the planet. Saddle up.

Not sure, bro. But... I was more focused on Lou's voice and lyrics for sure. Yet, if we broke into Jimmy's house, I suspect we'd trip over many Lou and Velvets' vinyls!
