God, this took far longer than it should've! It was supposed to be a fairly simple video/song where I experimented with the style a bit, but then university happened, whoopsie🥴
I'm not really happy with how it turned out, but I suppose it was bound to happen with an experimental piece. Though, it got much easier to work on after I simply said "screw it" and started changing styles whenever I felt like it hahah (which lead to it looking like an aesthetic clusterfuck but hey, at least it was fun and hashtag educational)
Kyo's English is a freaking NIGHTMARE to tune, good lord. I tried my best to get rid of his inherent nasaliness, but man, what a piece of work. I gained a newfound appreciation for MioDioDaVinci's Kyo tuning skills for sure.
In any case, this is a pretty messy one and I'm sorry for that! Some parts may be a little silly, but in the end I learned a ton from working on it and I hope that at the very least it's fun to watch!

Hey, i just realized that the cube was glowing in senyas's hands, however it shouldn't glow outside the zone, and that got me thinking, yura had the "talent" before ever going to the zone (he immediately knew that KT was a mutant, just by looking at her) so what If senyas's mutation went beyond albinism? She might be a walking, mini-zone, with would explain how yura gained the talent and why the cube is glowing!
There's a fan fic about this on ao3. It's completely great, one of the best and emotional fics I read, it's just unfinished >:/

Well not really, in the Google doc, ferry said that the cube glows around anomalous objects, not just in the zone, sanya found this out because she brought the cube to Sergei's workshop, filled with anomalous objects. And the cube only glows around her with a very faint glow, so I'd say its safe to assume it's just the albinism.

I love how much it feels like an old black and white comic right up until sanya hugs yura and suddenly color. I love the little details I get look for like the conversation. I love how Dima turns into a shadow because he’s so tense.
Interesting he does the same thing in KT's Guide to Coolness and Comfort Zone right before he snaps. :/

sooo yura decides to say screw the rules and continues meeting with sanya, and he gives her the cube he founs in the Zone? And anya introduces him to dima, whom he disregards at first, only to have his Stalker Senses™ flare up, upon which he starts playing buddy-buddy with them to get info cuz he thinks dima and katya are related somehow. If i'm reading this correctly, yura kinda ends up using people for his own ends, so now he's lost on how to feel about sanya since she doesn't fit in with his scheming? That ending is kinda ominous and whatever yura's gonna do next i am sure it will Not be good.
Yeah that’s exactly what I was interpreting the song to be- as for Sanya I’m sure he feels care for her but ultimately I think that might be what ruins the plan he’s putting into play

After they took away kt yuras attitude towards life changed from mindless hedonism to wanting to rescue her (she's like a little sister to him now), that's what the "I need therefore I am" alludes to. To reach this go he is willing to use others (Dima). He tried to cut off Sanya because her bro told him to get lost but clearly he couldn't do that.

May not have been as crazy as The Mill or Strike 3 but I really liked the video with this song, especially the ending and whenever the lyrics on black lines crossed over one another. I personally bet we'd get a Dmitry song sung by Fukase next, but I was proved wrong, sorta glad. Not using Yukari for Yura's an odd shift, but I suppose you don't need to stick to the same voice per character, -whens the Sanya BIG AL song-. It was a bit rough on it's own but Kyo's voice fit the actual instrumental quite well, at least, and most of the shifts in art and tone worked well.
Now this is when I'd type a long and complicated (and half-baked) theory but I need to look at Dmitry's face some more it's beautiful.

So, I was just watching Parties Are For Losers again, and holy hell, the artwork has evolved so much since that first video of this series. The way this uses colors, the animations, the overall style and level of detail, everything has been improved so much. It’s been pretty incredible to watch this series develop, and I can’t thank Ferry enough for making it. This series got me into vocaloid in in the first place, didn’t even know what it was before, and now i listen to tons of it. Basically, keep up this amazing work, and thank you so much!

Maybe the reason the cube lights up in sanya's hand is because she has a partial connection to the "dark zone" (forgot the proper name) as her albinism is due to a mutation from the zone... I don't know if this will actually mean anything In the future tho

Theory. The cube reacts to radiation. That is why it kinda glows in the presence of mutants. And due to backstory, we know Sanya is albino because of radiation.

Holy fucking shit. Watching this after convergence is incredible. You can see Yura making the connections, realizing he has a way to save Katya, and only THEN does he stop trying to cut Sonya off, and starts being friendly with her again. He was planning katyas rescue, and he needed Sonya for it. God fucking damn.

Ferry stated that Yura does care for Sanya, but she happens to be useful right now, even though he _wanted_ to cut her off. Considering how little he actually wanted to involve her, I feel that, in his own cringefail way, he cares about her, but she is _useful_ first and foremost. And at this point, his desire to save Katya overpowers the fact that he's using, and putting in danger a woman that showed nothing but care and support for his sister, a teenage boy who only wants to live a peaceful life, _his own little sister,_ and someone who would go into flames for his sake. Fascinating little guy, he has never done anything wrong, I want to punch him in the face.
I come at the speed of Ferry
Yura adopted an emotional support toddler after she listened to his issues for 5 minutes and whatever pent up emotions that came from almost immediately loosing her afterwards is going to be a beautiful, feral mess.

Theory time! I think that the cube glows when it is close to something connected to the Zone. As such, it fully glows when in the Zone, and glows a little when Sanya picks it up. I speculate this will be connected to either A. Finding KT or B. Identifying Dima is actually a mutant. Maybe both. Maybe it'll glow more when close to Dima, since his mutation is much more intense than Sanya's!

I love the little call-backs in the lyrics, and I think the mashup of styles actually suits this well - it fits with the confusion everyone (especially Yura) is experiencing as they hop back and forth between decisions of what they think is best vs. what might ACTUALLY help in this situation! Excuse me but holy shit??? Everything about this is amazing?? I love the lyrics especially- I've been waiting for a song from Yura's perspective, and this blew all of my expectations out of the water. This really helped me understand his character a lot more, and it gives him a much clearer attitude towards the events of the story. All in all, 10/10, Ferry!

Things I’ve noticed- Yura’s friends/gang (?) from PAFL flip through the background during “this paticular youth on the diaphram”, along with some people from the bonus doc.
When Yuri is getting beat up, “blood” and “dirt” are emphasized, though trash is not. In False Disposition, Sanya says she will smear her face with blood and dirt after Yura hits the trashcans with the bat.
I’m so worried about Dmitri and Yura I can’t think of any more lol
Oh! And Sergei says “blah blah blah save your helpless spite” to Yura in Strike 3, which he apparently said out loud because here, Yura says “forgive my helpless spite” while thinking of him. Gah there is so much attention to detail

GUYS, ok i might be really off the mark here but think with me on this one, the trinket that Yura found on The Mill glowed when inside the zone but stopped when it left, then if we skip ahead a bit we see that Yura handed it to Sanya, now if i remember correctly Sanya's albinism is a mild mutation and when she grabbed the cube it glowed slightly with this phrase from the doc in the description (this one to make it easier docs.google.com/document/d/1NlX_KhtJ34qkkm4yJWgjBc_OHe8ByORpHQ-chCAi6NY/edit#heading=h.dj3gyvm9uhfk ) "After explaining all that happened in the Zone and at the police station, Yura gives her the "souvenir" as a small goodbye gift. Sanya notices that the cube is glowing just a little, though Yura doesn't." SO, what if this cube can be used to detect people with mutations! Everyone probs already knew this and i am overanalyzing way too much

Glad to see another of these after I just found the rest. Also, confirmation that stalkers with the Talent can sense mutants, the wording is pretty clear that Yura sense Dima almost immediately.
Whatever he's planning, I don't like it. Sergei's worked so hard to protect Sanya, and now Olga's gone too. Yura needs to stop causing problems for people, and it looks like he's about to use Dima. That's really uncool.
Just checked the document, and now I'm wondering about the cube. It "only glows inside the zone" but Sanya's touching it when it glows slightly. What if it glows in the presence of anomalies? That would explain why it glowed brightly in the zone, but only a little bit for Sanya - her mutation is minor. I wonder what would happen if Dima touched it.
If it is an anomaly detector then that might prove a very useful bargaining tool with the facility. They could instantly know if something is anomalous and how strong it's properties are.
@@onyxtay7246 It probably also alerts the facility when it glows, since (although this might be a stretch) Olga and Yura get caught sometime after, despite seemingly not slipping up anything. I don't like the implications since he's given it to Anya, I think (and I hope not) Yura's gonna use Anya as bait? The big plothole in my theory though is that Anya only has a minor anomalous trait, but yeah.
@@you_gullible_fucc Their slip up might just be bad luck, though the line "self- hating ones like us crack when we betray someone's trust" makes me wonder. I don't think the facility knows when it lights up.
I also think that putting Sanya in danger is the last thing Yura will do. A good half of this song is him trying to break up with her so she'll be safer. I think the real danger is for Dima.

Hey guys... I just noticed; In the doc it stated that most people who do Yura’s job have some sort of sense and it is shown that Yura has it when he first meets Kt as he immediately recognized her as a monster. But he didn’t recognize Dimitri the first time back in Punch it, Punk when he saw them smoking his cigarettes. And he only noticed him this time when they locked eyes after he stabbed at Anya. So maybe he can only detect mutants when they feel threatened or angered in some way. After all he only noticed Kt because she was being threatened by that other gang leader.

also i love the line "Occam, bring out the saw" like No, we don't need Occam's razor, we can do better than that, how about Occam's Chainsaw?? Now that's something (and it's just a rlly clever lyric, especially followed by "i've got some doubts to cut")
and also Yura threatening to poke Anya with the trash stick is just plain funny as hell

sorry but this is undoubtedly the most underrated song of the series; my personal second favourite to punch it punk. is it just me or does ferry have a knack for making the catchiest choruses? i.e. “it’s a dead endeavour, it’s time you understood, that this whole situation won’t bring you any good”
y'know, i only JUST NOW remembered that yura is anya's older brother, so up until now i've been taking the context of this scene 1:38 to be yura just grabbing the shoulder of some kid he doesn't know and interrogating her about her boyfriend
i thought he was a total stranger to them... which is sad, considering yura and anya's relationship.
I swear speeding up Ferry's songs gives them a whole different feeling whilst still keeping their initial meanings in tack (I did this for the shitz and giggles but now I kinda dig it...)
this song for real will always be one of my favourites in the pafl series. the visuals and the sounds and just all of it makes my brain go brrr! i love this so so damn much
