Some notes:
1) Miko are miko, regardless. Whether they are referred to as blessed or cursed is wholly subjective, but usually it comes down to whether whichever party controls them can use them or not. Zanoba, having killed in the past, accident or not, could easily have been considered cursed, and he was largely treated that way regardless.
2) Back to last episode, Ruijerd called Eris a warrior because it was her birthday. She was now considered an adult according to their customs.
3) Ruijerd left in order to find the rest of his kind, to rejoin them if they even still exist.
4) Ghislaine’s story is in a side chapter. Not sure if they’re going to animate it or not, so I’m not going to spoil, but as it said in the show, she’s the one who found Eris’ parents in the troubled region.
5) The disaster destroyed most non organic things, and transported most organic. This is why Fittoa is so messed up. The destroyed infrastructure is recoverable over rebuilding, but all the fields and local ecosystems were annihilated.
6) Rudy absolutely has PTSD. His mental issues and attempts to overcome them are basically 50% of the whole story.
7) Notice anything about the music?
8) Alfonse is the real hero of the region. With Soros gone, Fittoa was receiving next to no financial support or other aid. By considering marrying Eris off, he was trying to ensure that the region would be looked after and the people helped, while also getting Eris back into a noble house. He also didn’t prevent her from running because he isn’t a monster.
9) Paul sent word ahead, Ghislaine and Alfonse were expecting Eris back. As a reminder, he and Paul were working together to save the people.
10) Ruijerd mentioned fighting a god and surviving to point out that a god only uses the same skills as a human, so as to motivate and reassure her.

@@kingjonny95 it’s more of a point to recognize the music as being indicative of where the party is. If you paid attention throughout, you can close your eyes and immediately know where they are, like in 16.5/OVA. Audio is super important in this production.

I feel so bad for Rudeus. It’s obvious he doesn’t understand what likely happened.
We’ve seen a dozen episodes of Eris telling everyone how amazing she thinks he is. She obviously sees Rudy as superior to her. She just proposed to him. She consummated it. Then left with a note saying they’re “not a good match right now”. I take it mean she thinks she’s not good enough for Rudy yet. She proposed, she’ll be back.
Then there’s the flip side. Rudy never seemed to notice all of Eris’s compliments, always focused on how she could fight much better than him. Rudy has an inferiority complex. To him, that note must have seemed like a Dear John letter, like she pulled a one-night stand. But I believe he got it backwards.
Rudy has a fear of abandonment and he thinks he was just abandoned. And he’s alone for the first time. I think this is the first time we’ve ever seen him cry. Lilia stated that Rudy _never_ cried as a child. We saw Rudy get sad and his eyes turn up hugging his dad but he still didn’t even cry then. Seeing Rudy cry was absolutely heartbreaking.

This is 100% how we expect him to take it.
We kind of took it as she made an impulse decision, to act right then and there. The feelings have always been there but the trigger finger, so to speak, was quicker on the draw cos she was heartbroken. And now Rudy's heart is broken cos he doesn't understand.

That's wrong. He has cried before butnthe anime doesn't show this... he cried when he failed Ruijerd. He cried when he hugged Paul and he cried after Eris left. In the Novel everytime he cries it is after he let his guard down and fails hard. You are right on how he feels abandoned by Eris. Everytime he is at his lowest he cries. And it is an Ugly cry. He wants to kill himself after he cries. But he doesn't, he continues because he was given a second chance.
I at least know he didn’t cry when he hugged Paul because I found it strange that he made the sad face but shed no tears. It’s one of my favorite scenes.
@@DavidRomigJr yeah I guess the studio thought it would be more impactful is this was the first time you see him cry. But in the Novel he doesn't cry when he is born so when he goes to the demon continent and first does it, it is such an ugly cry it hurts. And when he does it again with Pual it is worse. Each time making it seemed like Rudy failes big time. And finally when he does it here. JEEZ the events that follow are understandable. Although people agrue the story gets boring from here on out because it spends to much time on a certain feeling of his. Plus the fact the other two favorite characters get less scene time.
Sylphy was little in the nightmare mostly because Rudeus didn't see her grow, so he only has memories of her when they still where childs

In light novel they way ruijerd said about "You Fought i God and you can still live, so you can learn something on that fight. Ruijerd mention that Orsted is not a anomaly monster, he was a Master so she can learn something from what Orsted use (Sword Skill)

fun fact: In the light novel it wasn't a nightgown that Eris was wearing when she went into his room that night. It was an actual dress he had picked out for her. Back on the Millis continent, Rudeus and Eris went on a date where he got the dress for her. Eris had liked that cat-eared hood so much that he wanted to get her something nice since it was getting beat up and she had been wearing the same outfit since they got teleported together.

when they say Philip and Hilda were teleported to "Disputed Territory", they likely mean the "strife zone", which is pretty much a non-stop active battlefield.

The ending is really hard to take. The night before comes up like she's going to give herself away to Philemon and take up his offer, so it has vibes of one last choice of her own. They both wanted it, but the whole tone felt so tragic when I first watched it. And then we have Rudy bawling. He's not a perfect person still by any means, but he's been trying to become better and worked to improve himself, made good friends and family, and yet, he's now near and still all alone, just like in his previous life.
Turning Points shift everything from character developments to plot to even the genre at some points. Welcome to the aftermath of Turning Point 2.
The truth is, Eris 100% realized, during the act, that she was taking advantage of Rudi, not the other way around.
The fact that all of their internal monologues/thought were fut from the anime makes a HUGE, GIGANTIC difference. Eris starts focusing on how small Rudeus is, how he is younger, how she doesn't want his protection, she wants to protect him.
The vast majority of reacters' commentary on the lovemaking ends up being hella skewed due to the missing info.
I super duper hella ultra mega recommend reading this part of the novels. You will feel like 300% "more" after really understanding everyone's part in this life-altering moment.
To answer your question about etiquette,
The concept of couples wouldn't exist for Eris since she is a noble woman. Typically, the head of the family would decide her partner for political reasons.
Rudeus meanwhile is not noble, thus had all the freedom to live his life and choose his partners.
This was cut from the show but Philip had all intentions to marry Eris off to Rudeus, thinking Eris wouldn't have a good time adapting to nobility.
While he did try to use her for political gain, he does care about her daughter and hired Ghilane so she could at least make a living as a swordsman.
But after Rudeus came along, someone who could handle Eris, and someone that Eris clearly started to develop feelings for, he changed plans and tried to marry her off to Rudeus.
He even sent a letter to Philip about the arranged marriage, another part that made Paul assume Rudeus was playing around.
Also note, this is the first time Rudeus ever cried since reincarnating into this world.
His fear from his dream is to show his fear of being left alone. Being left alone as his older self while his friends move on. And what do you know, was exactly what happened.
Mushoku Tensei season 2 should be released in July, and from the trailer it should cover from volume 7 to 12, maybe even up to 15 if the leaks are correct.
Volume 7 is a light novel exclusive and my personal favorite volume, nicknamed the Depressed Magician's Arc. There is a spinoff manga of this volume if you want to check it out. It is extremely well made but the translations are a bit iffy.
I really hope you don't read ahead with the Manga as it skips much of the development for Rudeus as jokifies much of the serious dialogue. Many consider it the worse way to enjoy MT.
Considering we see Paul in the trailer one would have to imagine the leaks are true and we're getting up to Volume 15. It is objectively the best ending point for season 2. The only other ending point I could see is when Rudy makes his decision in, what, Volume 13 or 14? I can't remember which.

@@paulwin9036 You're right I got my volume numbers mixed up. Depending on who you're listening to for leaks, they have all been very accurate. TP4 would be a great cliff hanger to end season 2 off on. If they did end it there, all the anime only's are going to lose their minds. Hell I think even us who read the WN and LNs would. I know I would.
The more I think about it, that would be an amazing ending point. We open S3 with the story, would really set the mood for the season.
Also, if the leaks are as accurate as they have been already, we're set for ~30 episodes. If they continue the pacing of 4 episodes or so a volume, we would end off at the start of volume 15.
Questions will be answered in time, but keep in mind the position Eris was in. She decided before she was given away as property, she would take her power back by giving herself to someone she actually loves and trusts her for her first time. It’s a hard pill to swallow for rudius but she did what she had to do

The journey took a total of 3 years. Rudy spent 3 years on Eris's house in Roa. So he stayed 1 extra year away since the 5-year term Paul gave him. had the displacement incident had never occurred Rudeus would have come back home 1 year ago
I call this episode the roller coaster.
Also his nightmare became reality, what he feared was to be alone again and here we are...
In the LN it is explained that eh time in the Demon continent was almost an entire year. Millishion to the refugee camp was the shortest portion of the trip. In the anime they make it look quick bu that credits sequence of them traveling in the demon continent in ep 11 was basically a year. They travelled from the north of the continent to the south. You should be good to look up the map now and see how far they traveled. The LN are worth reading. Season 1 covers vol 1-6. So if you don't want spoilers just read those. The anime did a good job, but some stuff always get left out. And you can read them digitally for less than $10. But if you like having the books I recommend them. I love the LN series. Fair warning, reading the LN will make you want to continue reading, but I will tell you this. Knowing what happens makes you want to watch the anime MORE, not less. I just finished vol 21, so like season 4, (there are 26 vol in total) and damn is this series good!
It is funny she Nyan. If you guys remember Rudy is sorta related to Eris. And when Eris Grandfather was still alive he told Rudy that the males im the family have a thing for the beast race. Which is why the Grandfather slept with the maids. This will be important later but Rudy also has a thing for the beast. It is a weakness people from this world have. They want to pet animals and cuddy them when they are with them so that kind of affection is seen as different in that world. Paul also had a thing for the beast. But he isn't strong enough not to die by them when they are in heat. Eris Grandfather was and well so can Rudy later kinda.
Regarding relationships but most marriages in this world are poly in nature excluding those of certain religious orders. This episode mentions one of the Nato's family who wanted Eris as a concubine so he possibly already has a wife or 2. Also regarding Eris's father and mother. This isn't shown in the anime but when Ghislaine found them they had been heavily tortured and died very brutal deaths. Let's just say that after Ghislaine found them she went hunting for those responsible.

Actually, Philemon didn't want Eris for himself, but he planned to give her to that fat guy that hired the kidnappers and killed Sauros whose name I can't remember.
1) put some respect to my boy Alphonse! out sheer loyalty be cached in all his money and political connections to the Fitoa revitalization effort and together with Paul founded the Mana disaster seach team (currently based on Milis).
2) If you guys barely survive Eris Killer move what hope our boi Rudeus had? He put a valiant effort but Eris dint fight fair.
3) Philip and his wife where found already dead, since their clothes made obvious that they had some status they're deaths were reported to government and they were identified by their jewlery (symbols). Ghirslaine had gone personally retrieve their bodies

thats the first time he actually cried since he came to this world, he never shed a tear. he finally earned a loving partner and the day he brings her home and has her accept him, he is now truly alone for the first time in 13 years
I'm guessing it seems like the possibility of Eris becoming a concubine to some lord she doesn't love is still there so she wanted her first time to be with someone she does care about hence why she sorta forced herself on Rudy but she still ran away (from the concubine offer) and went on her own journey.
The Fittoa Region is inside of the Asura Kingdom.
Regarding the next episode, there is a scene after the ending credits so remember to watch that aswell.

Whole thing was much more in depth in novel, with the internal monologues(for both Rudy and Eris). Though you can still infer a decent amount here. He just nearly died, they could die tomorrow for all he knows. At that point logically he was struggling to figure out why he is resisting.
Aaand then he got wrecked.
Considering his history, finally having such intimacy with someone so close, who he loves and having it shattered... Will be much more damaging and hurtful than if it was an average person who lacks the history he has, though it will still suck. (after they did it, he basically swore to himself to be with her forever and do everything he can to make her happy and so on - then he found out she left)
Final episode is 10/10. One of my favorites. It's so good on many levels.

Remember the roller coaster of emotions in Mushoku Tensei. Anime is excellent, but light novels have a lot more details than anime have time to show.
I've seen a lot of reactions of this episode. Most were fine. However I try not to judge everyone takes things different ways. Some people are pretty harsh on either Rudy, Eris etc. I will be honest I was worried of how you both would take it. It seems you have kind of accepted Rudy for who he is and noticed that he has already improved so much. Hes come so far. So has Eris.
It's funny to say that my reaction was almost exactly the same. Thinking they should not have sleep together. But I understand Rudy could only resist so much this is weak spot after all. Eris pushed for it. Her kittens line had me rolling my eyes and laughing too. And then afterwards I was confused of why she left etc. I better stop here. But I really like this series.
I will have to see what other anime you watch etc. I know there is one more episode left for now. MT returns in July but I'm not sure how quickly you will get around to it. Thanks for everything. The displacement incident happened after Rudy's 10th birthday, maybe the next day, I don't remember exactly. At this point, he's 13 (couple years younger than Eris), so all told, it took about 3 years to return.
Ignore this comment if you don't want to know how many more seasons are likely to follow. I'm not going to mention any spoilers. And it's fine if you stop reading this comment now. But in total there are 26 Volumes of Mushoku Tensei. The anime covers up to the end of Volume 6. If each season or roughly 23 episodes give or take is about 6 volumes. We are looking at a minimum of 4 full seasons of Mushoku Tensei. And probably 92 or more total episodes. I basically see that as the minimum. Barring any cancellations or major departure from the source material. So far the anime is very faithful. Think of how much more story that means! lol I promise you it somehow gets even better! I'm going to be starting Light Novel Volume 22 in 1-2 months when it releases. In about a years time the Light Novel should be finished.

As for the ending of this episode. They are both awkward idiot children. And once again I think the Ln did a better job of explaining Eris' thought process about leaving than the anime does. But right now we're only seeing things from Rudeus' point of view.

I really feel horrible for Rudy, he should have stayed with his dad. To be abandoned like that is a scar that will not heal easily. He will never be the same. Remember what happened to his past life, he has never felt acceptance and love and when he finally does.... Abandoned

Now that u both r caught up to the anime i recommend watching AniNews mushoku tensei vids on what light novel content was skipped from the anime. You can watch them all but i especially recommend their last 2 vids rudeus' dream and eris' reality and why eris left rudeus. The anime is great but doesnt give much context to why eris left and AniNews explains it all really well

As I'm sure someone has remarked, I still gotta point out, I don't understand why the anime studio put so many buildings being decrepit and falling apart. The actual result of the Mana Calamity was that all buildings and man-made studd was just *poof*, no more, all gone. No childhood house, no abandoned village. It's honestly a weird, immersion-breaking change. Less than 3 years time would not have all of those buildings crumbling to dust. The refugees would have been able to rebuild on the spot if there was anything. The refugee camps were so important because the Kingdom was providing tents and such for shelter.
It was probably so people would be able to recognize it, for instance the tree they sat under, as a hilltop alone doesn't stand out in the memory.
Also, I'm going to assume that the imagery of just foundations left with all the living things missing or dead probably has a strong psychological effect on the Japanese in particular. Even if the light novel described it differently that bombed out look was probably more powerful emotionally.

Tbh the way Rudy is... or was... i tougth that he was just gonna jump Eris as soon as she did the first push, but seen him having so much self control and besides that... him thinking that Eris was not on her rigth mental state... he didnt wanted to take advantage on her, this makes you see how much this character has develope and change on the series, i hated him a bit the first 5-6 episodes and then he started to change bit by bit and i mean he is still very Grayrat on all the rest of the show but he matured a LOT on the trip back home n all the batles he had, i just love the autor writing... he does so well and not just on Rudy but to all the other Main caracters its unbelible! i really hope you guys have the chance to reacd the LN is 100% worth, if you lied this show the Autor writing on the Light Novel will blow your mind! i love your vids!!! and sorry if i misspelled a lot of thing, English is not my main lenguage hehehe xD

Yes it was hard for Rudy and u will see next season what truly happens to him he knew eris for 7 years and after they spent the night he though they would be together forever also in the novel rujired explains that that when he fought orsted he wasn’t using sum crazy techniques he was using the regular water god style but that it was so refined that even rujired stood no chance

That is not true. He cries when he reunites properly with Paul, just it isn't animated in the anime but it is in the light novels.
@Timmaaah those tears were more out of joy because he managed to mend the relationship he had with Paul but fair enough. Here's the corrected version: This is the first time Rudeus cried out of pain and sorrow in this world
He has cried only two times in this life: when he re-united with Paul (cut from the anime, for some reason), and now, as he is at his loneliest point.
The letter will be explained later, but his reaction is quite easy to explain: he has an inferiority complex. "We aren't well-matched" might as well say "You suck" in that mindset.

There is something i didn't notice the first time i watch about Sylphiete, and u guys didn't see either. I do not consider it a spoiller, because you can see it if you pay attention on the scene. But if you don't wanna know nothing about her, you can wait to season two in July.
In the episode they kill Eris Grandfather, you can see Sylphiete in the background with other people in that scene, but most people don't recognise her because she was using sunglasses and her hair was white.

You have to remember that Eris is stupid. They've made it a VERY significant point the entire series that Eris is of below average intelligence. She has NO IDEA that Rudy wouldn't understand what she meant and thinks they are perfectly happy long-distance boyfriend and girlfriend.

Rudy has a few flaws which pretty much continue over from.his shut in life. Besides the obvious of being a pervert, he cant really read situations well. He gets caught in traps A LOT. His one saving social grace tends to be his ability to talk his way out of most situations, as he says in episode 3.
The onw thing i really appreciate about rudy as a character is his op'ness literally comes from him practicing basically every day of his life. Most isekai's just give the mc some op ability for no good reason, but rudy worka his butt off for it. And he still has big weaknesses. He chokes in fast paced, close quarter situations. I imagine all of us in the modern world probably would when peope are attacking you with swords and magic.
i think they should watch re:zero next but id recomend watching konosuba with it so they won't be depressed
3:12 If you make your life story interesting, I won't mind hearing it in a Mushoku Tensei video. Another Reactor Teaboo used to tell us A LOT about his life when watching Mushoku Tensei and I wonder what he'll talk about as he watches season 2.
