In my opinion,
MK9: anatomic and simple look.
MKX: badass and detailed look.
MK11: sleek and cleaner look.
I wouldnt say detailed in the right way because it looks overdone.
Mk X is more gritty than detailed at least imo

Realism sometimes doesn't necessarily mean better imo. The costumes had better detail in mkx but better lighting in mk11. I'm no mortal combat fan but clearly there is a difference

MKX is more badass, MK11 is just more realistic in both movements and visuals, the details were kind of turned down though.
Fábio Eira I wouldn't even call it more realistic, maybe more realistic as in slower, but the charecter models looked way cooler in MKX, for both men and women.

Ryan Angeline naaah, they looked unrealistic. Plus mkx animations sucked, always have, injustice did some better. Mk11 improves so much, my punches and kicks look and feel like they got force now, they’re still punching over the fence with a lot of characters, but better still.
I think it has to do a lot with the characters we got, we don’t have quan chi, Shang tsung, mileena, ermac, the dark characters. Noob Saibot really is the only one that feels like they add to the grit and dark tone, but the level designs are very much well done for an MK universe, we just don’t have many characters that fill the need.
Yes, Scorpion looks way cooler in MKX but Scorpion MK11 looks more like a human than a super buff Demon-Ninja

Mortal Kombat 10 well making char. look badass and realistic Mortal Kombat 11 let's cover all the women completely because that's moralistic in a fight but when it comes to the guys they can still be shirtless.

MKX - Gritty, dirtier, more complex designs
MK11 - More realistic designs and features but simple
TheHuskyK9 that’s why MKX character designs are better. The dirty look fits the franchise so much. Mk11 looks are too simple.

Im just wondering, does this have to do with mk11 characters having gear now? I don't have the game yet especially since I heard it was very grindy and microtransaction focused, but just wanted to know if the gear u get changed how the character looks.
@@brzzzy so every character has overall skins with recolor that you can get and then also three customizable gear pieces. Lets say Scorpion, for instance, has his normal look, his Hanzo Hasashi look, and his old school look. All those separate outfits have their own recolors but his mask, swords, and kunai are their own separate customizations apart from the skin. Sort of a slightly less crazy customization system than Injustice 2 where there were basically no skins and your look was completely dependent on what gear you had equipped plus a color palette.
Are you serious about mk11, mkx had it down perfect, mk11 looks like a pg version of injustice 2 when it comes to charecter designs, blood and gore aside

Really disappointed in the lack of dismemberment in MKX and MK11.
In MK9 you could clearly see wounds and chunks of flesh torn off, if a cut was deep sometimes bones were visible, clothes would partially tear off and so on. Of course, graphics and gameplay got better, but still the new entries lack that detail that made the game what it is. At least in my opinion.

Yeah it was cool, but I prefer this new one. I will say I wish clothing would get torn or something. But I do prefer the new like face bruises and cuts and stuff. But honestly MK9 AND 11 have better damage than MKX in my opinion.

@@giacozz Yeah I agree with you. I always wonder if maybe there was a limitation or something that kept them from adding it. I wasn't expecting much after MKX, but luckily it wasn't that bad! And what are your thoughts on wet effects on the characters, if any? I liked the rain getting on the characters. And I liked the idea of the characters getting sweaty and worked up, but the MKX execution was a little awful. The beads of sweat looked more like boils or something. I was pretty surprised where there weren't many stages that had water or rain or anything, but it doesn't ruin anything! I know this is off topic but it's something I was thinking about.
@@zariagoza I gotta say I was pretty impressed when I first noticed the droplets of sweat on characters at the end of a long fight, even though as you said, it had a "not so great" execution. I mean, they looked like they got some sort of pox at first glance... Still, that was a nice little addition to the graphics. MKX was great as a game itself but maybe not ambitious enough for what concerns details

Just no....everything about MK11's designs and art is superior. Higher details, the fabrics look like actual clothes and not plastic material. The lighting and shadows are truly state of the art. MK11 is the best looking fighting game of all time, hands down!

In mk11 his outfit is a nice tribute to the original design, but it’s way too simple for a recent installment. There are no details and few weapons.He looks like he’s cosplaying as subzero.
@@Night-Shade. Ok, so you like an armoured looking sub-zero with some kind of cold mask lol....I rather have a classic NINJA Sub Zero, the way he's meant to be. I didn't say anything about the MKX models not being detailed. They still hold up. But against MK11, there's just no contest....MK11 annihilates MKX in graphics and designs. That's just what I think. To each their own, man. I simply don't think Sub Zero looks cool enough in MKX. The design just doesn't do it for me.

Demarcus Baldwin nah not really, the quality helps sell the violence more, the movement, combos, abilities, fatalities, both blows. I look back at mkx and feel like they shouldn’t have rushed it, especially for the animations. The attacks never sold the force behind it, it looked fake as hell. Mk11 does it way better.

I love Every mk from the first to the X yes the story of mkX is not very good its predecessors but the graphics and the gameplay make it perfect for me because mkX gameplay is that of mk9 but perfect while mk11 is nice yes but Afterhours having finished the story mode(not even the plot of mk11 is that good....) and then playing a little bit you get tired right immediately unlike mkX....... man i want mkX remake 😢😭

Ever since the 1995 movie, Kano has always been an aussie.
Scorpion looks more like a traditional ninja.
Sub-Zero looks more like a Chinese assassin. (in one of his intros he says the Lin Kuei are not ninjas).
Noob has always been sort of a ghost character. (He also has skins in the game with a more "ninja" aesthetic)

mkx characters look like action figures with their oversized muscles while mk11 went for realism.
not that unrealism is bad, is still a videogame, but i prefer the look they went for mk11 now they actually look like people.

Lol glad I wasnt the only one who noticed these 3 specifically getting huge visual upgrades. I know people are annoyed the women in mk11 are too covered up (which I didnt think I'd ever say lol) butpersonally, mk11 did such a good job with facial designs. Especially these three.

MKX graphics were a big step up from MK9. I'm not fond of MK11's character models. But the most disappointing thing to me is that they really nerfed the ladies (physically) after MK9... RIP Sonya and Kitana's character models :(

Not if you have high end PC with settings maxed. I don't think the video from 11 is from a PC. Probably from PlayStation 4 pro at the most. I do agree the outfits are more detailed in 10. Although If you have the the textures and shaders maxed its pretty close. Where it really shows is in the characters and how. clothing and hair move. The characters themselves look and move much more realistically. The backrounds are also breathtaking. It's actually the MK I've been waiting for since the digitized ones. The character design and prooortions ever since then have looked to cartoony . To me this one is perfect with the realism, and old school outfits. Lastly, I like how they brought the upercut back as a big move.

I'm thinking the outfits might be slightly more detailed, but the rest I doubt since X is running on Unreal 3 vs 11 which I'd running on unreal 4.

I do admit the outfits are more detailed on X and more creative. I also don't like that the women characters hardly show any skin in 11. Those SJW's are affecting everything. It's ridiculous.
