    Amazing Vespa in the end of the video👌.My pre-bug is equipped with the Stage6 mkII clutch, haven't tried it with the weights yet but after hearing your explanation it seems to me that there might be a valid reason for me to do so since I'm noticing a slight belt slippage every time I twist the throttle and during take-off like you mention.

    Can you use a stock bell on a Polini 3G Maxi-speed clutch? I have a new 2924 Roughhouse that I want to improve on, and don't want to do a BBK kit on it at least until after the warranty is up. As of now, I have a Malossi Multivar Variator installed, and I ended up using the stock (7.5g) roller weights with the Malossi white contra spring the new variator kit comes with combination for best performance for my weight. The bike downshift much more quickly for hills than it did stock, as well as the acceleration has also improved. It already want to raise rhe front tire without even trying! 🤣
    So, I had tried the 7 gram Malossi rollers before adding the white spring and it also improved about the same as I settled on did. I furi experimented by trying both the Malossi 7 gram rollers and the white spring and the revs weren't in the right place for the powerband of the stock pipe. So I left the white spring in and swapped back to the stock weights and it was perfect again...for now. But I want clutch adjustment, so I can dial in takeoff better when I get a new Yazuni Z pipe. Again, this is a sport build, for mostly acceleration. Top speed isn't a super critical factor but I would like to be able to pull 40 moh reliably in most situations which It almost does now, but not quite. I'm also a bit heavier than an average scoot rider at around 240, and btw this is my daily driver and I haul stuff most of the time, so I'm tuning the CVT for all that extra weight consideration too. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Love the channel and all the great information! Also, what the hell should I do about this "less than" headlight without overtaking the electrical system? I'm not trying to use some LED shop light for a headlight here either guys. I'm thinking of small off road or fog light LED pods that may mount fairly inconspicuously on the wither side of the front fairing. I want an amber option, which will be great for fog and rain in the dark, if I can't find lo-hi beams style lights, i can turn them off when passing oncoming traffic. Because its almost impossible to find LEDS pods with a vertical cutoff so they don't blind oncoming traffic.

    Big like for this video. Do you have any idea why Polini and others are making clutches without cooling fins ? I just bought a Polini Sport clutch without cooling fins for my 2023 Vespa GTS , but i also put the Polini Clutch Bell Speed Evolution wich has better cooling power than the original bell . After 500 km all looks and feels very good , but i still wonder why there are clutches without cooling fins ...

      I've been searching and searching myself. What this guy doesn't mention is that there also weights behind the shoes that also have 3 positions. He only showed the adjustment on the front with the tiny teeth which are the preload for the springs. Instructions in the Malossi manual are too minimal to understand fully so I'm going back & forth testing different settings.
      However at 8:15 he's describing a very similar concept on a different clutch that uses the same idea. Our Malossi Delta only has 3 options for the weights.

    Hi my Gilera DNA 180 clutch turns the rear wheel slightly at idle.
    It's not enough to cause any issues when riding but I hate the vibraton up my ass when at a standstill.
    All the Piaggio scooters I've had dragged the clutch like this at idle, but I have never installed an aftermarket clutch on one. I have however changed the old clutch springs out for Malossi 2911326 Yellow and installed lighter rollers which has helped only very slightly.
    The clutch shoes pull on the springs more than the springs pull the clutch shoes closed.
    Idle is set to 1600-1700rpm as per the specification.
    I want an aftermarket clutch for my Gilera which will not drag at all at idle, what would you recommend?

    I’m running a malossi fly clutch with twh 82cc bbk zx rear koso pulley polini dio variator i have it shimmed correctly but im thinking the malossi fly clutch and the white (race springs) just can’t handle it? I’m not sure I’ve tried so many different combinations of roller weights and the three yellow green and white springs and my mid range just revs hard but i don’t go anywhere and my low end pulls hard it wants to wheelie hard and my top end pulls hard too but the belt doesn’t ride all the way up on the variator. I’ve used twh yellow 1500 contra and red 2000 rpm contra springs and all different types heavy and light roller weight combos. I need help! Also I’m running oko pwk 28 and I’ve got it tuned decently. Should I just get one of these more adjustable clutches? Or should I try to find a set of higher rpm clutch springs for my malossi fly clutch?
    Thank you !

    4:35 that is not a spacer, that is a torsion washer for your contrast spring, it prevents the contrast spring from twisting. Naraku has better ones though, with real bearings so much less friction.

    • @Scooterswapshop
      @Scooterswapshop  4 года назад

      Yes however the naraku ones are prone to losing the bearings as they’re not caged. I’m not a fan of the design

    Is there any way to minimise the spool up of the clutch before it engages. You said you recommend red clutch springs which engage at about 8k. From a standstill and if it's city use, then this setup would be pretty annoying having to rev it so high before it moves.

    • @Scooterswapshop
      @Scooterswapshop  5 лет назад +2

      You can have it engage anywhere from 2000 rpm or 8000. Race bikes need high engagement. Soft springs engage wealth stuff springs engage late. Just pick the ones you need and install for your needs
