    Thanks, I did this to my truck today and it worked really well. I only did one coat for now but it came out nice, no more fiberglass on the forearms.

      @Toppervision1  Год назад

      It is really great stuff. 4 years later and still no fiberglass in the forearms! I just recently did an update video if you want to see how it looks after years - ruclips.net/video/jnC2RD-CCbY/видео.html

    WOW!!! Can’t argue with results!!! Looks fantastic, Mike, and they almost look brand new. A little time, effort and the right product really paid off. Good idea for the fender flares, don’t see why it wouldn’t work, albeit with much more effort and prep work.

    • @Toppervision1
      @Toppervision1  6 лет назад

      Yea, I think I will spray the flares too. But like you say, not looking forward to the prep on those.

    Hello, I know this an old post but how does the trim come off? Do you just wedge something under it and pop it off?
    Thanks

    Wow I'm glad YT recommended this video. I literally started today trying to find a way to stop the fiberglass itch. I have a 2017 Ram and live in Phx AZ. The sun beat them up pretty good in less than 2-3 years. Been dealing with this since then. Did you prep the rails with anything before you sprayed them?

    • @Toppervision1
      @Toppervision1  5 месяцев назад

      i didn't do any prep. I figured all the oils where all dried out of it as well and I was right. This finish is still doing ok years later. I did a follow up video about a year ago.

      Second time trying to post, YT erased it WHY???? Just finished and they look great. I got almost 4 full coats out of the one can. Put it on light first coat, heavier on the remaining coats. Waited about a hour between coats.Took about 72 hrs to cure before it wasn't sticky. It's in the 100"s already here with almost no humidity(5/29/24). Might take longer where you are located. Broke off about 5-6 tabs on removal. Az sun just made them more brittle I guess. Watch the video here to get them off easier: Ram Truck Bed Cap Removal | Never Break A Tab Again | Ram Bedside PDR | Dent Baron, Raleigh, NC. I used 3M Super Strength Molding Tape around the holes where they broke off. It's thin but one layer is plenty. That S**t is sticky. Prepped the bed rails and caps with alcohol before putting the tape on. Got a 15 foot roll on Amazon for $10. Walmart has it around same price for a 5 foot roll. Trashed the push pins taking them out. I had a push pin kit from Harbor Freight they worked fine. Dodge wanted over $5 per pin, F that. We'll see how long it lasts out here in the AZ sun. No more itchy hands and arms.

    Wow that stuff really made a difference Mike. The truck looks great and I agree you should do the fender flares. For a minute there I thought this was going to turn into a Geico Commercial lol. Papadan

    I have an 09 Ram 1500 and mine has the fiberglass in them
    too. I can’t seem to find the size I need for my truck to replace them, so I think I’ll try painting mine too. Where did you get your paint from?
    Thank you!

    • @Toppervision1
      @Toppervision1  3 года назад

      No, not at all. Even now a couple years later you can lean on it with no fiberglass fibers. It's really good stuff.

      It still looks like I just painted it. Good stuff. Really resists chips and scrapes too. I am a lawn service by trade and really bang that truck around alot. I'm gonna do the fender flares too.

      Toppervision1 good to know, I’m looking into doing something similar on my Honda Ridgeline. I don’t want to go full Bedliner is: raptoliner or scorpion rather something quick and easy like a rattle can but there’s just so many options and hard to tell which one will actually last. Thanks for the reply

  • @Jeffsmodelgarage
    @Jeffsmodelgarage 6 лет назад

    Wow big difference mike looks great I had them same protectors on my pickup I believe they are resin and not plastic not 100% on that but I used the body molding paint on mine and was still getting fiberglass on my arms and hands let me know how this stuff holds up down the road did the lizard jump up from the ground? Or was he on the garbage can?

    • @Toppervision1
      @Toppervision1  6 лет назад

      I really didn't see where the lizard came from. It surprised me. Yea, I was thinking that this bedliner spray would be thick enough to seal the fiberglass in. So far so good. We'll see in like a year.

    • @Jeffsmodelgarage
      @Jeffsmodelgarage 6 лет назад

      Toppervision1 lol the lizard was quick lol too funny it will be interesting to see if that lasts longer then the body molding paint I used thanks.
