This was super helpful. Going to be using the high output can of this stuff on my steel aftermarket bumper. Looks like the end result I was looking for and way cheaper than Raptor liner. Thanks for the in-depth video! 👍🏼
Just wanted to give some feed back and say thanks! I seen that this product looked like it worked for you, so I though I would try. I only have half the bottom of my jeep done and honestly this product is amazing! The only issue I found is that you have to keep spraying because when you stop or have the can upside down it clogs. I just used isopropyl alcohol to clean the nozzle and when keeping on, the spray is perfect, and just the right sized swathe, and goes on forever without hesitations! I am waiting for my flash light to get charged and then I will do the other half and hopfuly I will have a solid protection underneath! Should be no different than the liner within a truck. Can't wait to see the results I get when dryed!
Thats awesome! My truck is still holding up amazingly. It is not garage kept and gets some pretty wicked sun in out NC summers. It still looks perfect. No chips or fading. Looks exactly the same from when I sprayed it 2 years ago.
Sprays on well, but the only problem is that the spray nozzle only puts out a round spray about 1.5 inches, not in a fan shape like better cans do. Thus you'll have what we painters call "tiger stripes" all over the inside of the bed. I've applied this product twice to two different trucks and that's what I found. And it takes 2 tall cans to do one small PU bed (older Datsun, Toyota, Luv, Nissan), so possibly 4 cans for a full size truck at almost $14 can right now (4/23). I recommend you use a black primer over the sanded bed before you spray on this product which will give a black background initially. And when you pull off your tape, do it as soon as you can while the paint is still tacky.....that way it won't "chip or lift off" close to the edges when it dries. One last thing.....make sure you pull your tape directly opposite the way the tape is applied (180*) not pulled away from the body at a 90* angle.....a perpendicular pull can cause the paint edge to lift also. You'll thank me later...... ;-)
The funky smell was the Chevrolet rusting. The stuff he is spraying on the bed cost more than the pickup is worth cuz it’s just a raggedy old Chevrolet. I could understand if he was spraying that stuff on a Ford but if it was a Ford the clear coat would have never started to peel in the first place. 😏
should this be used on the exterior of a jeep then go off roading with branches and stuff scrapping down the sides and expect this to hold up you think
I tried touching to push down a bit but was still too tacky. It can stick to your fingers and make a real mess. As you say, it has to be dried on top but not cured on bottom. Just right. Suggest a test on drying time on piece of wood. Temp/Humidity makes all the difference. PS ... It's ok to apply when it's hot but not in direct Sun.
That's exactly what I need to do to my truck, just around the top where the drop in bedliner has worn off the paint. I am going to cut the rim off the drop in so I can also use a camper top, but still use the drop in. Did you do all of that with just one can?
its very much a light duty truck so I'm not hauling any rock or anything back there. biggest thing is lifting items over the side of the bed and chipping away the paint above. that what happened when I put a bicycle in there before.. the pedal stretched the heck out of the top of the bed.
tantricmaster800 thanks for the response. Been a few months now and haven’t experience any issues with it not sticking what so ever. Still looks perfect. Every where we painted, it was sanded.
Only where there is raw metal. Scuff the clear with 600 grit sandpaper or a red scuff pad. If any scratches that is all the way through the paint to bare metal spray an etching primer then with sealer. They do sale etching primer and sealer all in one that would work good enough for bedliner. Wipe down with oil and wax remover. Then shoot a thin coat of bedliner. Almost a mist. Let flash, usually 10 -15 minutes...will say on can of product from the manufacture. Second coat is a cover coat. Be sure the entire service is covered. Let flash again the third coat is kinda thicker than first two coats. Let flash then forth coat is thin again but thicker than first coat but thinner than the second and third coats. Then let sit for 12 hours or manufacturer's recommendations. Most people spray three coats and even two coats but I recommend 4 coats. More professional looking finish with no line marks.
it looks nice but that poly will peel off easily, you need to sand the whole thing...not just one spot, I don't know what wipe you using, but if you use a mineral (flammable free) it won't get the whole thing...but if you using acetone you are good (deep cleaning)
Google Reviewer so far so good! Still no chipping or fading. I live in NC so the truck bakes in the sun during the summer. Truck is not garaged. All is holding up well!
carguy1 fastorslow I would definitely wait until it’s warmer! 50 and up and you should be fine. We sprayed this stuff when the garage was around 110 easy
I remember that song Lisa , now u made me feel old. Good video

Where's the rest of it? Isn't the inside of the truck sides and flooring going to get a bed liner coating on it to???

That stuff is really good for your lungs too. 👍😁
Nicely done! 😎👍

Good ole regular cab truck. I like and prefer regular cab trucks much BETTER than this silly 4 door station wagon truck stuff going on these days.
Excelente trabajo👍
Why can't people just leave people alone nice job
Wiiiiild Fiiiire. Ahhh weeeeeee
Looks good, I think I’d spray the inside bed and walls, just my opinion. Nice work
Looks awesome 👍
Very Nice. He made it look easy.
They say he's still removing tape to this day due to all the over prepping...
Troll
I never understood all that cool internet lingo. Funny comment
i know it's quite off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream new series online?
@Makai Yosef Flixportal xD
@Alonso Fisher thank you, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I appreciate it !!
Looks excellent. You do nice work. Sure beats paying a shop to do it.
I'm here for the American Top 40 with Cassey Kasem
To each is own then. I say no more. :)
Looks good. Great job
Sinister13 Cruz thanks
I like your work shoes
No sanding, even though you applied primer?
Good work guys. Look good
I just sprayed on herculiner to my back bumper, the taping was the longest part, fuck, but got three coats on it and looks fresh
Wow that looks awesome!
nice vid, thanks. How many cans do you think to spray the whole 6" box?
Hard to say. At least 5-7
Wow came out great!
Looks good 👍

Gearjammer sound about right! 😝
I dont understand the 2 thumbs down? Really? Great job my friend.
Why would you only spray a black stripe around the top of the bed???
Leo Walsh the clear was peeling and the top got all scratched up from moving stuff in an out of the bed.
Do the whole truck in that shit. Looks awesome. Mad Max mobile straight up
Looks good....
should this be used on the exterior of a jeep then go off roading with branches and stuff scrapping down the sides and expect this to hold up you think
Yea I don’t see why not. It’s pretty tough stuff. The prep work is going to be key so that it doesn’t bubble up.
Good video. I'm about to do my truck .just wasnt sure what I was gonna use. Thx
Is it possible to put clear coat on top of it?
I tried touching to push down a bit but was still too tacky. It can stick to your fingers and make a real mess. As you say, it has to be dried on top but not cured on bottom. Just right.

Que tamaño de área se puede cubrir con una lata de spray?
@@josegarcia-jg7hb dice 18 pies cuadrados por lata
always wear a filter....dont screw up your lungs.
yeah but you're only young once

Christian Jensen yes just one can. If you are painting the camper shell area, I’m sure it would be enough.
I'm thinking on doing the inside my aluminum boat with bedliner paint how long have you had this on your truck and sticking good
jdharrington379 been on over a year. No peeling or anything. Still looks awesome
How much is a can
jdharrington379 about 10 bucks
It should look good on inside my aluminium 14ft boat
IrishRedNeck45 oh yea man that would be perfect
Looks nice
I'd of waited at least half hour before coats. Time for a brew (cup of tea/coffee) and a smoke. Then coat 2.
Andrew Davies oh yea we waited. Not to mention it was about 110 degrees in the garage lol
👍
Is it a hard or soft liner once dry?
Great music to work by!
You’re fucking deaf
Must not be going to put anything in that bed since the fender wells and side walls will get scratched up if you do.

You should have sanded with 80 grit. Anywhere you didn't sand it will not stick. Like along the tape edge.
tantricmaster800 thanks for the response. Been a few months now and haven’t experience any issues with it not sticking what so ever. Still looks perfect. Every where we painted, it was sanded.

How is this holding up?
Still have the truck. Holding up just fine. I chipped it in a few places from dropping stuff but it’s 99% the same from when I uploaded this video
How long has this held up
Eli Garza still good. No flaking or chipping yet. The truck gets used for light duty work
I will be giving this a try soon

Sheldon Bruce hey man yea everything that was painted was sanded
Curious....How is it holding up a year later?
Google Reviewer so far so good! Still no chipping or fading. I live in NC so the truck bakes in the sun during the summer. Truck is not garaged. All is holding up well!
@@Spatakula ..thanks for the update...Hearing how things are holding up a year later (or more) really makes a difference. Have a great day!
Can this be done in the garage at 30F degrees ?
carguy1 fastorslow I would definitely wait until it’s warmer! 50 and up and you should be fine. We sprayed this stuff when the garage was around 110 easy
How
Many cans did you need?
1 can was more thank enough
??? my question as well...
How scratch resistant is it?
It’s pretty decent. Not indestructible but holds up well with light/medium use.
Major Harris playing in the background...
I’ve been thinking about using Bed liner to paint my hood since it texture there’s no orange peel and no wet sanding right?
Nick L it is a thicker materiel. Almost like an undercoat. There is some texture there. No wet sanding at all but it is never meant to be shiny
How does it look after several months? Would you recommend this brand?
Mrjeepcherokee1 yea looks great still. No fading, chipping or cracking. Looks the same as the day we did it. The truck sits outside always as well.
How long does it hold up?
TheBigDanois still good to this day! No chipping, flaking, or fading. Good stuff!
Why is everyone so clueless when it comes to diy bedliner ... no distance and don’t understand what the word texture means...
No Mask??
Should have had one on
Any durability update?????
Yup, still holding up fine. Been outside since this video was made and no fading, chipping or cracking. Zero complaints on this end!
Did you sand the painted area before applying the Duplicolor Spray?
Michael Mathis yes we did. Nothing too harsh...just to knock the clear off.
Nice but should have a mask that stuff worst that COVID for your lungs
real men don't need masks or respirators!
what kind of tape did you use?
little overkill on the masking. lmfao
haj811 lol at least there wasn’t a spec of overspray!
I wouldnt want that crap anywhere else on my nice truck. Better to be safe than sorry. mask away!
You could use some lessons on spray technique , SLOW DOWN leave a tack time between coats. Keep your motion straight.
thanks for the comment Dan. always looking for tips to improve.
