An hour long VGG video on a Monday morning? I don't believe it, but I've got to, because I'm looking right at it.
I know right I saw it I'm like wtf .when I was it . I'll watch it tonight
Well I'll be dipped!
Perfect timing, didn't want to go to work anyway
Underrated comment
Keep the 15's Fab the fenders.
im an animal lover had a dog then a cat i appreciate you taking this cat in and giving it a better life, its finally coming around too you at first a little skitish but at the end came right too you, thanks
YES!!!! BETTY WHITE!!! She is one of my favorite builds/ series! Please get the old girl out of the tree row and give us a reunion tour! Love it! So glad you haven’t gotten rid of that beautiful beast! Thanks Derick!
Brother you Pulled out ALL the Stops on the Duster No Holds Barred, Anyone of us Would be Proud to Say that Derek From Vice Grip Garage Built this Baby, & He Built it Right the First time, Keep on Cruising Brother, "Keep on Cruising" Your the KING ! 👑 of Classic Revivals Resto.
That cat was having a blast when Derek was working on the door. Happy Monday morning!!
Far from the typical comments, but thank you guys for helping the little cat! Always nice to see compassion like that.
Looks like the kitty is doing better based on the way they play with their toy as seen in the background. 😊

Those seats look amazing. Betty White does deserve an interior revival.
Derek and Jessica, it's really cool that you took in stray cat Caprice to feed, house and nurse her back to health. She will make a great shop cat addition to your family and the channel when she becomes more used to all of you and she feels she can really trust you. 😼
Love the new shop cat, as a cat owner thank you for rescuing her and giving her a good home
That carpet hole trick is really useful. I can’t say how many times I’ve snagged up a new carpet trying to put holes in to mount seats ect… the older I get the more I appreciate learning these techniques.
Also, biggups on the Young MC reference!! Hahaha
Check out “DrGusGreenfield” blue eyed black cat. Enjoy.
Everyone's boss doesn't appreciate you posting videos on Monday morning. 😉 But we do.
😂
Yeah it's 12:30am Tuesday morning here & my boss won't like me watching ether, Rj in Oz
So true. Lol. I just said the heck with it and put it up on the big TV in the show room. We were all watching it on our phones anyways.
The boss is out today...haha
the interior looks great
I love this channel. You know when you watch something like Bitchin Rides they talk about "What the hell did they do here?" during the disassembly about a rust repair? It's this guy and others like him and god bless them. It is better to have a badass duster on the road now than a show Duster being trailered to it's next car show 3 years and $100k into the future.
Love to see Betty White return she was my first vgg show I seen an was hooked from that went an watch all your other episodes got my dad an my two brothers an my oldest daughter hooked on you so please bring back Betty
More shop lions in the videos is exactly what I need! Love that you guys are compassionate to animals as well as cars
Yess 100% I just posted saying that too. 😊😊❤️🐈🐈
Absolutely! Nothing I love more than having my barn cats. They keep the mice and rat population to ZERO here on the farm. Cats are where it’s at. 😉
it was purring on second contact. he was playing like wild when Derek was working on the drivers door panel. very awesome
Kitties are great, so nice of Derek to take kitty to the vet. They hide their ailments so it must have been really bad
Looking good Derek
love the shop lion footage. Good on you for taking her in.
@48:54,, "Wow,, this looks really good",, Yes Derek,, it does look AWESUM. You've done this little Duster justice Son!! 🙂
Thanks for rescuing Caprice there Derek! A good shop lion or two keeps the meeces out! Doing the right thing 🤘🏼
That kitty is definitely starting to feel better.. It made me happy seeing her bounce around in the background..
Derek..
It really made a "Guy" Smile 😊
Great video Bud
Thank you
Classic early days VGG video. Derek smashing and bashing to make things work better than expected....just what I like.
Missed most of the drivers door panel with the shop lion going crazy with that toy😂
I've always loved these cars. My grandfather was a bootlegger/shiner from E. Tenn and he ran whisky in a black dodge dart similar to your 74 here. It had the drive line from a wrecked 69 Roadrunner, 440/4 speed. Most of the old mountain roads were dirt back in the day and nobody could catch grandpa on those old dirt roads. Grandpa's been gone for many years now but I still have that engine and trans.
Whenever Derek fixes rust holes it will forever be known as a Bieri Patch. 🎅👍
Or a new space to park his cars ie rusty acres and the Bieri patch.?
Derek, awesome build. Cudos to all who helped. Not a Mopar guy but absolutely loving this car. This car could have easily ended up in a scrap yard but you made it great. One of my favorite rescues.
I couldn't agree more....I never really got into Mopars either. But this thing is just special for some reason, maybe because it's going to live for another lifetime, and someone else is going to have an awesome project to drive, appreciate and make memories with their families, exposing the next generation to old iron
Derek, you's a big Feller, and I'm an Old Feller, but, I'd try to box yer' ears for not wearing dem dare safety glasses when grinding! Tks for the video and keep em' comin'!
This car is the very same car my wife and I had, same color, same stripes, back in 1980, she died years ago now. I’m 62. I’ll never forget the times we shared in the Duster, kinda wished i new how to win this, I don’t know computers. I would totally restore it in memory of my wife. Man ,did this bring back ton of great memories. Thank you
Great job on my neighbors Duster. She sat for YEARS under a tree, happy to see her have a new life!
Tip of the hat to you for rescuing Caprice! I am certain that she appreciates it. :)
Making us all fall in love with this beauty just to give it away.
Derrick and family, I appreciate your videos very much. I recently lost a dear friend to cancer. We used to talk about your adventures all the time. Your humor, wordage, and general upbeat attitude helped him during his battle. Thank you for all you do. God bless
So sorry to hear about your loss I can't think of to many Waze to spend time with a true friend watching VGG. Derek and family awesome people as was I'm sure your friend was.
That duster turned out amazing, big difference from when you bought it. Great work. Btw I’m glad to see you are nursing the kitty back to health, so many people hate cats and it makes me sad.
@27:38 cat playing in background (left)
@@vap0rland Saw that too.
Much respect to derrick for being a friend of the critters.
@@vap0rland , I once had a neighbor ask me, "Why does a full-grown man have a (expletive deleted) cat?!?"
"That place used to have mice. Seen any lately?"
"No."
"None in mine, either. You're welcome."
Regards to Derek for picking up lil' kitten cat. I'll bet getting a feral one to the vet caused more scratches than working on the cars.
I like kitty cats but I love doggies, the sad thing is, they all leave us way too soon.
If this Duster was put back into production by Chrysler in the exact same way you have redone this one I would buy it in a flash and use it as my everyday driver. Love it.
I would LOVE to see Betty White back! One of my favorite cars you've rescued
my favorite part was, "safety squint" when using the small cutting wheel (hahahaha). I thought I was the only one who thought that. Priceless. Keep up the funny comments! It keeps me coming back to your channel time after time. Awesome! Oh and by the way, Best way to start a Munday at work is watching an hours worth of VGG!
Door panels look awesome !!!
Along with all the laughs you add is the shop lion dancing in the background !
I say again. That is gonna make someone Very Happy!! You have outdone yourself again, Thank you VGG!
I loved watching Caprice play in the background.
Thank you for every great video you put up here, It warms an old guys mechanicical heart😊
That Duster looks and sounds fantastic! YES to more Betty White!
Betty White!
This is the best channel I've seen in a long time when it comes to seeing a project getting fixed from start to finish!!
I just love seeing the new assistant shop lion playing in the background as you work. It warms my heart to see that he's being taken care of. Thank you for that.
Derek, I’ve watched nearly 6-10 videos - both old and new, as I binged watched - and I have to say that your knowledge, positivity, overall ability and attitude is quite enjoyable, entertaining and mind-bending.
Love it!
Duster looks amazing! Good job Derek!
Changing to the black interior panels & seats really did the trick for looks.
@@scottyfox6376looks beautiful
whoever wins this rig is one lucky fella or fellet. I'll be green with envy. Great job as always, Derek !
I came across this in January. I hope whoever won this appreciates all the hard work and cash you and your guys put into it!!!
This brings back old memories, for 40ish years ago i had a Plymouth Valiant Signet V8, front sofa,, steeringwheel shifter like this one, man i miss that car these days when i see your videos.
Great job on the Duster. I have a 74 Duster all original 3 speed in the floor 318 with 62,213 original miles. Its baby blue with the white stripe. I even have the build sheet that was under the back seat.
The car sure has come a long way…. It sure looks right on that set of 15s…. Maybe a shorter tire on the font to meet that clearance? Also, bring Betty back…. Church that old girl up for a Sunday drive!
Derek did such a great job on the interior he gained the new shop lions trust
Love to see a full restoration done on Betty White. That car deserves it.
Watched the entire video nonstop. The work you've put on this "old rig" to restore it is just stunning. Best of luck to whoever wins this vintage set of wheels.
Thank you very much!
we know that you're super busy. Thank you so much for this Monday morning episode!
I am praying that the Lord continues to richly bless you and your family!
Caprice! Welcome to the family!
Peter the Pilgrim
Very nice rebuild, to see that old duster go from a field to back on the road, priceless. Love the interior. Looks awesome. Thank you for doing what you do. Loved seeing Jessica. Have a great day.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks 👍
Amazing what a lot of hard work and caring what you end up with can do .thanks for the tremendous effort, Derek !!¡!! 😊
Love that another car got saved, like you say not perfect but that is the point. Perfection is very expensive and hangs out in sheds instead of getting driven like it should. Love the new mouser too, coming around to being tamed but will hopefully keep those dam varmints out of your rusty woods collection and keep you company on those cold nights in the shed :)
"SAFETY SQUINT!" with two squinty eyes needs to be the next VGG t-shirt design - @15:16 in case anyone missed it.
Keep up the awesome work feller!
We appreciate all the hours you put in for us, Derek! The Duster is looking fantastic! I also liked seeing Caprice and how you are taking care of her. Finally, so much yes to fixing up Betty White, we all love her and want to see her fixed! She needs to go in the new building.
Hey Derek, get Betty White back in the shop!!
Lmao “safety squint!” And welding with no hood on. And a Monday video?? Absolutely love it
Yes please!!!
Betty White needs to make a triumphant return.
Be sure to autograph, with date, and VGG the inside of the trunk lid Derick... that alone is what makes owning this car a collector's item.
Gotta say, I wasn't entirely sold on that mustard yellow color, but with the stripe and the hood, it's giving me Daisy Duke's roadrunner vibes.
WOOHOO! The ChevPar looking great!
Best of luck to all who entered!
It's fun watching Caprice playing in the background.
Caprice cruising around in the background. Great shop kitty.
Nothing like getting up in the morning an finding a new video! Gonna be a good day for a feller!!! Thanks Derek!!
It's so incredible watching the transformation of the Frankenstein Duster. This build was awesome and inspirational. Thank you Derek for always sharing your talents and insane challenges,! 😁🤘😎
Thank you for saving this Duster it"s perfect now, child hood dream car ❤
Cool rescue, cool restomod, cool Mopar, cool giveaway. 👍
Always remember that a real man loves cats. Thank you, derrick, for helping that furbaby. Happy holidays to you and ur family. Thanks for the Xmas card with my order, haha
You've been working hard on this,Derek! Looks amazing!👍🏻
WooWee! That is a nice ride. Good Luck to everyone who entered to win this beauty.
The old Duster is looking fresh! Good job Derek, it takes me back to the late 80's when I first moved to Nashville to go to Belmont Collage and we had a 3-piece blues band named "The Dusters"! Everyone needs a good mouser shop-cat, glad you guys took her in!
Ahh man, thanks for taking care of Caprice. Had a similar situation with a stray. Took a while, but she is doing great now. BTW, thanks for all you do. You inspire and educate us more than you could know. I know this is a lot of work, travel, and time away from your awesome family, but man, you have a big following that gets so much out of it. Happy Holidays to yall.
Caprice
When I see ppl doing *some* shortcuts, I am impressed.
When i see ppl doing "LOADS" of shortcuts, I worry.
when I see you take take to un-shortcut something and make it *far better* than it was, that makes me feel happy and satisfied. I love redemption videos and when you mech fellas take that extra time to make sure its *GOOD* not just good-nuff, then I am not only happy, but proud to support you. I appreciate the extra effort, and it will last.
Short cuts are fine until they're not & it becomes a hot mess.
Fixing the floor that way, the right thing to do.👍
I didn't get a chance to buy a few things from you for a chance to win the car, but I really think you did it fantastic job on it. I'm sure whoever wins it will be happy.
This car turned out great! To me, the thing that really brought it up a couple notches is the black speed stripes on the sides! Love the steering wheel, door panels & upholstery too! Well done all the way around 😊
And those awesome Cragar SS wheels,, they REALLY bring this car TO LIFE!
Man Derek - watching all of the work you put in to make sure someone gets something special, it's good to see. Whoever gets this Duster is going to be overjoyed. You did great!
Also, Caprice playing in the background whilst doing the door card is hillarious
Wow! She came right back around! I think some Keystone classics would look good on her.
Put some plastic moisture barrier sheets back on the doors and it'll help the new door panels last a long time💯
Got my hats and T-Shirts on order! Thanks Derek and the entire VGG family!! Awesome to see a Monday morning VGG video!! Also, really appreciate the work you put into your giveaways, just AWESOME!!!
The overalls will set a new fashion trend. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
That caramel stitching isn't as subtle as you thought. It popped so much on installing the back seat. Looks absolutely amazing. Good eye & great decision!
Recently Found this Channel, What a breathe of fresh air!!!! makes me feel so much better doing up my old MGB roadster 4 BANGER, there is no way I could do what the other shows do..............Derek has given me the mind set that it dont matter what people think but just get ya rig out on the road and enjoy it!!! Thank VVG
I think those black wheels you had on it earlier would be perfect with small chrome hubcaps 👌
The cat playing in the background while you're working on the door is a sign she's already starting to trust you. As far as she's concerned because you're talking and moving, you're playing with her. All the better you're not actually making eye contact. She's considering that to be a real plus.
Yep, time to get the ol caddy done. She deserves some love.
Awesome job Derek!! Looking good for sure. Someone is gonna be VERY happy.
Love the passion Derek puts into these old American cars , sat in my excavator in the rain watching this when im sure i should be working 😂 Richard (uk)👍🏻
there is a guy on youtube who does carpets professionally, his technique is the best ive seen, he uses FLAT carpet, whatever you want cut pyle style and FORMS it, he used spray on glue that's heat sensitive, steams the carpet, molds it in using baseballs, rubber mallet, so on so forth, then heat to set the glue and his jobs are PRO, he steams out wrinkles everything you would think it was factory, even uses the thick padding that makes your car smell new
Derrick. I couldn't help but notice a feller using his new handheld cutting wheel without eye protection.
That turned out well!!!! A real driver.....like a hot rod should be! PS: Thanks for taking care of Kitty......we do rescue in our area.....I have 5 ferals visit my house every morning!!!! Thx
Derek, Jessica and the “little humans”, what a great car, you should all be very proud! Keep up the great work…
Betty White: YES! She introduced me to you. And reminds me of my grandfather's white DeVille (his interior was all-black)
Watched it a few more times, and it looks fantastic.
Congrats on the new shop cat , Derek. She looks like a keeper!
OH MY GOD!!! This can't be real. Not only did I pull off a shop meaning that I get to stay in the shop and work on my sheet metal, but an hour Long vice grip garage video on a MONDAY MORNING? There really is a God
47:57 yes please, Sir. bring Betty White back. I've been asking myself when you start making roadworthy rescues things to your other cars a bit more. I would love to see it!
love your effort to patch-fix the floor pans here, interior and all. This Duster turns into a real gem. just fantastic.
For me this is my favorite combination of content. The revival. Then, some content on required repairs to make it basic transportation. Followed up by a series to do an everyday man's budget restoration. Perfect. It’s like an episode of Roadworthy Rescuer but in the youtube format where we get to see everything.
I tell you what Derek.... I really hope that people truly appreciate all the work you are doing for a give away car.....nice car!!
I hope they appreciate it....
God Bless my friend!
the interior looks dope, the door skins are nice plus i love that steering wheel.i remember the first video of you pulling this Duster out of that grass field, looking pretty sweet.great job.
That interior transformation brings tears to a guys eyes.
Derek you did a fantastic job on that Duster. Your choices are always spot on. I would have set it up exactly the same. If I win her I will paint her the same color and put back on the same decals. That’s all I would do. Can’t wait for the drawing
