@@leonaise7546well, it couldn’t at least have some competency to understand that Godzilla is bigger and louder? It shouldn’t go around underestimating kaijus like that, and even if it did still decide to fight him, couldn’t it at least fight carefully to give itself a chance to retreat
One theory I have as to why the Ion Dragon attacked Godzilla, which you mentioned in the episode, is that it was still a fairly young titan that hadn't had much experience with other titans at that point in its life, and what titans it did encounter were almost certainly smaller and weaker ones that it ended up killing. I agree with you that it had almost certainly not fought against Godzilla before its potential final fight, but to be fair the Ion Dragon's first attack wasn't a bad idea. Using its flying ability and superior speed to surprise its enemy from behind and instantly go for the throat is a viable strategy, and it likely would've worked against an opponent who was up to the same size as the Ion Dragon, but Godzilla's combat prowess and sheer mass rendered that strategy ineffective. The best tactic to use after that failed attack would've been to retreat, but the dragon's aggressive nature and possible lack of experience against larger foes worked against it. If it did somehow survive, I can see the Ion Dragon reluctantly submitting to Godzilla should they encounter each other again.
You know, despite the Ion dragon not being as powerful than i thought, I gotta admit that it is the perfect addition into the monsterverse no doubt, at the end, after looking at the seriously injured dragon with his wing ripped off, it could be alive but can no longer fly anymore, after it got tossed into the portal, it may have ended up in a different place searching for it's new territory, all props to goji center for these great analysis!
Honestly I could see it growing back it’s wing, it seems like Kaiju movies love giving them basic regen (not saying ion has it just I could see that happening) plus like the skull crawlers I could see them bringing back as bigger version for something to beat up on for 5 mins or to just cause destruction In the the background
@@Grimsly3736 Monsterverse kaijus are actually implied to have the ability to regenerate their severed limbs, Ion dragon can likely regen it's wing or is probably wingless, also for the skullcrawler part, Kong only give the skullcrawler a huge Scar on it's neck but it wasn't enough, I'm pretty sure that now it's organs are ripped off it is dead obviously because the other skullcrawler in GVK was called "Number 10".
it makes sense that many kaiju arent fully aware of Godzilla, considering he's been dormant for eons and is the last of his kind, so many are likely not adapted to him and functionally didnt evolve alongside him. It could also be that Godzilla's species historically didnt spend a lot of time in the axis mundi, either dwelling in the Hollow Earth or on the surface. So the ion dragon may have seen a big Titanus doug and thought it could take it, because it had only encountered those.
More than just being reckless, the fact that the Ion Dragon attacked Godzilla from behind was also a big mistake. Other depictions of Godzilla in the monsterverse show that attacking from behind is the fastest way to piss the G-Man off, even going as far back as 2014. Right before Godzilla kills the male MUTO, he's grimacing at it like "come on, I DARE you to hit me in the back." When Kong jumped on Godzilla's back in GvK, Goji freaking lost it, and stopped toying around with Kong.
I think Goji just doesn't like being sucker punched given his status of an alpha, making him feel he deserves a little respect from his opponent to not attack that way.
@@DanielGonzalez-ri9xd Okay dude I was talking about Goji, not Kong. And I'd say Kong does deserve some respect too, he's the main reason Goji didn't bite it against MechaG.
I figured the Ion Dragon attacked Godzilla because it was hungry. That device Shaw activated we suppose to replicate radiation signature, which is what lures Titans to it. Since radiation is a food source, Godzilla and Ion Dragon thought they were fighting over a meal.
The Ion Dragon battling Godzilla will be a moment I’ll always cherish. Just the way Godzilla was fighting the Ion Dragon seemed more rough than usually (to me at least). If he fights like this in GxK I’m all down for it. Such a badass fight in my opinion.

@@GodzillaMinusOne-ft8fd He's clearly bigger compared to Ghidorah in Boston than he was in the Arctic. The characters even mention he looks juiced up/been working out. It wouldn't make sense for him to just randomly grow between films. There's a nod to this in the show where they flashback to 1954. He is shown to be a lot slimmer and probably shorter than he was in 2014. The only explanation for his growth was the nuke and it's the same for 2019.
Even though the Ion Dragon isn't up to par to the larger titans we know and love, we can't deny the creature is quite impressive for being able to survive a close range blast from Godzilla's atomic breath. Definitely a welcome addition to the MonsterVerse and crossing my fingers we could see it make a reappearance sometime again.
Actually... yeah despite his size Ion Dragon took a point blank atomic breath and was pretty much unharmed. Only Ghidora has been shown to take it as easily. Guess it's ionized radiation worked similar to the golden king's electricity barrier. Makes me want to see an old member of its species, see what one can really do.
This was by far my favourite battle of the monster verse. It feels fresh in a way that not every monster has to be either the same size or bigger than Godzilla to fight him. Not only that but it’s not a fight for dominance but just a fight. My favourite part of this is that there’s a true difference in size and strength between the 2, and you know that Godzilla is 100% winning. Just a fun quick fight that doesn’t drag on.
The ion dragon was a very cool addition to the monsterverse and it had a very cool design it also had a brutal battle with Godzilla which to me was the highlight of the series.
Axis Mundi in general seems to be inhabited by Titans and MUTOs that are on average a lot smaller than the ones living in the Hollow Earth, likely due to it being a much more limited habitat range as a very unstable pocket directly within the gravitational inversion zone between the surface and Hollow Earth, hence the immense time dilation that results in a much smaller amount of time here being equivalent to much lengthier time periods on either ends of the tunnels.
A thing anyone hasn’t noticed or thought about yet (I think), is that the Ion Dragon's tail looks like Final Wars Gigan's tail, and its head also looks like Gigan's. Perhaps… This is an indication of that the Ion Dragon will return as a cyborg, now named Gigan?
Yeah. I first thought of destoroyah, but now you've mentioned it, I think we might know how gigan would enter the monsterverse. Maybe he would be made up of the remains of the ion dragon to create a new creature, a half mechanical, and half organic kaiju
We need more new kaijus in Monarch Legacy of Monsters... Honestly when I saw the Dragon at first, I thought it was Camazotz but ya I soon realized it's not.
Well, it's hollow earth! If he's yeeted back to hollow earth thn like he might heal cuz yk hollow earth and its special energy sources benefits every titan, even Kong which got no melee weapons. So ya the hollow earth energy might heal him up and probably make him stronger. Also, the dragon's dead body hasn't been found yet on Earth so maybe he's at hollow earth healing..??? Just a theory.
The ion dragon also has mythological inspirations from Philippine myths. I think it was mentioned that tales about the Minokawa (a bird like mythical creature from the Philippines) was inspiration for this Kaiju as well
Goji, you really have no idea about the impact you’ve had on my life. I’ve been going through tough times, and seeing people be decapitated and monster analysis and monster murder has made it easier. I love you, dude. Keep up the work.

Honestly, can't give that much respect to someone who starts a fight they have no business being in. It's like some random guy starting a fight with Mike Tyson in a bar. Doesn't matter that he didn't know who Mike Tyson was, it's never a good idea to start a fight if you know if you can win.
I honestly love smaller kaiju that are in the size range to hunt humans as small prey, like cats chasing mice or insects - the initial island form of Godzilla Minus One was also in that size range, making the whole scene feel more like Jurassic Park than Godzilla. Seeing another kaiju that's small enough to not only notice but actively hunt humans as prey is really cool.
Was a good show. Interesting characters and the end actually choked me up a lil bit. That doesnt happen often when i watch a movie or show. Kurt Russel was a big plus for me. The 82 Thing film is my favorite movie ever so having him be invloved with something Godzilla related was a real treat for me. Hope theres a 2nd season.
The Ion Dragon attacking Godzilla is basically the kaiju equivalent of a Demoknight with 0 heads trying to charge down a giga-nest filled with level 3 sentries.

Proceedes to think of zora magdaros walking pass Godzilla minding his business
Bro, when i saw this picture of new video i literally wasted my time for this series ( 2 days) to understand what will be this video about. So... there's nothing i can. Video good as always, keep it up, Goji! :)
Cool! Anyways, I got some ideas for some new Goji Center videos: 1. Jaegers Vs MV Titans (Kong's Hawk, Behemoth, Male Muto) 2. Jaegers Vs MV Titans (Warbat, Methuselah, Female Muto) 3. Jaegers Vs MV Titans (Muto Prime, Skull Island Kraken, Ramarak) 4. Jaegers Vs MV Titans (Camazotz, Icarus Tiger, Killer Chameleon)
We're supposed to get that on Monster Face-Off, which they said would return this January. But not this fight, it was Ramarak vs. Ark Giga or Skullcrawler vs. Porco Galliard. As revealed the Skullcrawler at the end of the titans Beheading video
Hi goji center I have 4 video ideas I would love to see: Male muto vs mothra, kong vs ghidora, Godzilla vs mechagodzilla and they are all I depth analysis, and last but not least: Titanus shimu explained!! I think that the ideas are great and i would love to see them!!
I gotta respect him for seeing Godzilla for the first time and immediately thinking “I can take him” then going through with it until his probable demise
And if you do do the video, you also got count the levels how strong it could be before it got into monsters versus something experimental giga it’s also a chance it could still get bigger by taking down Kai, which gives it more strength, basically that that could be ability of experimental gig, since it does have levels
Great job on this video! If you want for the next videos you can talk about the other megafaunas or titans from monarch including Frost Vark, Bramble Boar 🐗, Endoswarmers, and Endopede. Another idea could be of what happen to Godzilla in 2015 after the events of 2014 and Godzilla Aftershock.
The Ion Dragon is a intense titan🐉 But I wished it was Godzilla's size, The fight between those two could've been like in Kong Skull Island when Kong fights SkullDevil☠️ I still liked the fight in the show it just would've been better if the dragon was bigger👍
I don't think the battle with the ion dragon was ever gonna be comparable in that respect. Even barring the size there was much more of a rivarly set up between Kong and Ramarak giving it killed kongs parents, and greater steaks had kong actually lost. This flying twerps just an uppity titan getting out of line Maybe the fight would've been neater if hGodzilla was getting jumped by the other smaller titans too like that giant centipede and frostvark
I LOVE HOW YOU STARTED THE VIDEO😂 Edit: you should try doing a video with ion dragon vs the male muto, I also wonder how a face off with camazotz and the ion dragon
for the ion dragon to have been set up in the background back on skull island and for it to have so much content invested into it i don't believe this is the last the ion dragon will be seen. i wonder if the portal opened up closer to a nuclear power source that could not only heal it but evolve it into a much bigger and formidable opponent.
One thing I appreciate about this battle is how Godzilla didn't just atomic breath the Ion Dragon into oblivion. I know that's his signature weapon, but almost EVERY battle has G just beam his opponent until they blow up - both in official and unofficial depictions. I get it; it's flashy and bright and cool, but after seeing this so many times it's become a little trite to me. I like how Godzilla here finished the Ion Dragon in a way that showcases his physical prowess. Hopefully in future content, we'll see some other finishing moves from him that don't just involve him atomic breath-ing his opponent (more often than not with an arbitrary power-up), and actually see his other capabilities.
It’d be so funny if that Ion Dragon appeared in GXK:ANE for a brief cameo, trying to pick a fight with something else, only to get splattered onto the ground. Maybe Kong finishes it off, or Godzilla fries it with his pink atomic ray? Maybe even the antagonists Scar King or the other kaiju villain(s) take care of it. Maybe something already has killed it.
I'd honestly love to see the Ion Dragon make a return. Maybe it could be wandering around somewhere secluded on the surface world since he did spend quite a bit of time there, slowly regenerating his wing and for whatever reason Monarch is trying to capture or kill it while Apex/Main cast are trying to save it. Honestly, that would be awesome for season 2, the main cast trying to prevent Monarch from harming the titans, but eventually become corrupt themselves and Apex makes Mecha boi
There's this mythological creature on Philippine mythology called the Minokawa that weirdly resembles the Ion dragon. It's kinda nice to know that some of the monsters are sort of a nod to local mythological creatures from different Earth's region.

@@SasmithaXD I KNOW RIGHT!! IT WOULD BE A PERFECT VIDEO!!
EVERYBODY THAT WANTS ONE OF THESE VIDEO LIKE MY COMMENT SO ITS A HIGHER CHANCE OF GOJI CENTER SEEING IT!!
@eddeboy1237 hmm feels good u earned my like
@@SasmithaXD Thank you bro
7:30 Godzilla was like
Ok where is that little prik? 💀
That Ion dragon is quite a titan despite its small size compared to most titans like Ghidorah and Rodan.
Goji: "subscribe, like, or Godzilla will stomp on your car"
Me: jokes on you I don't have a car yet
Hopefully you guys make more analysis videos on the other new titan from the monarch series, the Frost Vark❄️
I gotta respect him for seeing Godzilla for the first time and immediately thinking “I can take him” then going through with it until his probable demise
Goji center never disappoint us ❤
0:44 jokes on you I don’t have a car
Also I already liked and subscribed
Ion dragon looks like a new kind of piscine wyvern for monster hunter
And if you do do the video, you also got count the levels how strong it could be before it got into monsters versus something experimental giga it’s also a chance it could still get bigger by taking down Kai, which gives it more strength, basically that that could be ability of experimental gig, since it does have levels
Awesome content. Took me away from daily problems for 10 min. Thank you
Imagine Ion Gragon coming in clutch still missing its wing/arm just shredding skar king on his back. Submitting to G man
I do not think that the ion dragon carried it over water. But rather used the titan portals to make it much faster and easier.
The Ion Dragon simply didn't have a chance against Godzilla and just should have given up when it had the chance.
The Ion dragon was way too overconfident, he should've just flew to safety.
The thing is he doesn't even know Godzilla.
2:08 Now that you mentioned it, I cant unsee it anymore 💀
Will Ion Dragon appear in Monster Face-Off in a possible season 2 perhaps
That would be awesome!
The Ion Dragon is a intense titan🐉
But I wished it was Godzilla's size,
The fight between those two could've been like in Kong Skull Island when Kong fights SkullDevil☠️
I still liked the fight in the show it just would've been better if the dragon was bigger👍
I don't think the battle with the ion dragon was ever gonna be comparable in that respect. Even barring the size there was much more of a rivarly set up between Kong and Ramarak giving it killed kongs parents, and greater steaks had kong actually lost. This flying twerps just an uppity titan getting out of line
Maybe the fight would've been neater if hGodzilla was getting jumped by the other smaller titans too like that giant centipede and frostvark
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 It's just my opinion
I LOVE HOW YOU STARTED THE VIDEO😂
Edit: you should try doing a video with ion dragon vs the male muto, I also wonder how a face off with camazotz and the ion dragon
The ion dragon is certainly an impressive creature but it's got nothing on Godzilla!
“This episode will discuss the new Titan who is…err…..was the new addition to the Monsterverse’s rosters” got me rolling on the floor 💀
You never stop being fun and informative.
This laboratory never fails to make the best monster content :)
Ion dragon would be perfect In monster faceoff, and I think the best opponent would be camazotz
I believe the Male Muto is a much more comparable combatant lol.
Let’s say @Acnologia120 that camazotz was the same size as ion dragon
Camazotz is already facing Rodan
Is he? Because if he is @andrewscholte624,then the warbat would be good against ion dragon
for the ion dragon to have been set up in the background back on skull island and for it to have so much content invested into it i don't believe this is the last the ion dragon will be seen. i wonder if the portal opened up closer to a nuclear power source that could not only heal it but evolve it into a much bigger and formidable opponent.
Behemoth vs Methuselah
I got $12 on methuselah
@@thealligatorboy1424 i think Behemoth would win
0:47 I got titan insurance (im subbed anyway)
Xenomorph when
Most awaited♥️ keep up the great work🎉
First !

Cool
Monarch Legacy of Monsters is a top tier show and I hope it gets another series
This is so cool! There even a series? I am so excited for the new Godzilla and King Kong Movie B) the analysis and such so good!
Great Video _Goji Center_ :D
Ion Dragon: OI IMMA BUST YOU UP PLUM THUMB! AND THEN I'M GONNA WEAR YOUR CLOTHES
Godzilla: That was weird *atomic breath*
I watched this fight many times but never noticed Godzilla ripping out his tail wow
7:45
It’d be so funny if that Ion Dragon appeared in GXK:ANE for a brief cameo, trying to pick a fight with something else, only to get splattered onto the ground.
Maybe Kong finishes it off, or Godzilla fries it with his pink atomic ray? Maybe even the antagonists Scar King or the other kaiju villain(s) take care of it. Maybe something already has killed it.
0:05 not only is this titan more stronger and much bigger it's also known for being a lot meaner when angered
what is the name of the phonk song in the merch ad? 6:14
Honestly, that would be awesome for season 2, the main cast trying to prevent Monarch from harming the titans, but eventually become corrupt themselves and Apex makes Mecha boi
waiting for this video a whole week !!!
the likes are getting more and more in 5 minutes !!
Best monsterverse information channel ever

A what now? Kinda sounds like my favorite word
I'm a simple guy, I see gojicenters new upload, I enjoy, and I atomic breath that like button.
There's this mythological creature on Philippine mythology called the Minokawa that weirdly resembles the Ion dragon. It's kinda nice to know that some of the monsters are sort of a nod to local mythological creatures from different Earth's region.
after seeing this titan i think it may be on the top 5 coolest looking titans in the monsterverse
