I can’t trust games anymore, years of conditioning have left me constantly anticipating a horror twist.
Coolernow especially in this Channel
I always have this feeling in a first person walking simulators lol. That's because you are completely alone in such games, you just expect someone else to show up .
And sometimes they do...
The game is, overall, not a horror game, but there are a few spoopy parts. There's no monsters or jump scares, just a few scary atmospheric things.
Build-a-Buddha what scary atmospheric things are you referring to? Because I didn’t get any sense of anything scary from this. Not even in an atmospheric type of way.
@@PotawatomiThunderNew I think it comes later in the game. There's a few little scary things that happen, like a bloody knife that you find that disappears when you look away from it, what looks like a head peeking at you from behind a door, but it's actually a supersized chess piece, stuff like that. Little things that make you think there MIGHT be a threat, but a threat never actually appears.
This game now has A LOT of easter eggs too, like collecting chess pieces, blueprints, constellations etc.
This game is great bought it off the Epic Game Store. It's a short but sweet game.
9:43 IS THAT BALLAS!?
11:15 HOW!? I've seen the technology but not in reverse!
My theory is that the game is looking for the player to be in a specific xyz coordinate whilst looking exactly in the right direction, then it replaces the wall texture and spawns in the object. Optical illusions are fun :D
Superliminal?
Yeah watch this... "HEY YOU!!! BUY THE GAME!!"
Do you remember that markiplier played this and he screamed because his mind hurts?
This is portal
I saw this as a post on Tumblr and I agree with someone when they said ‘Where do you even BEGIN to code this??’
Edit: People have been responding about where to begin coding and god all of this is super interesting!!
Math, objects are sized according to their relative size at the position of wherever you are looking at. For the perspective thing, it's simply about projecting a texture onto objects and making the object appear when you stand at a certain location.
@@mbartelsm like if your movement is actually a switch to control how much it grows or get smaller? Well it make sense
I coded something similar the other day. I wanted to replicate Blender's translate/rotate widgets, which appears at a fixed location in 3D space, like a regular object, but always take up the same amount of space on the screen, like an overlay. There's no equivalent to that in the library that I was using, so I created a regular object and added a trigger to make its scale proportional to how far it is from the camera. I guess this game just does that when you are holding the object, and when you let go, it freezes the scale and lets the physics take over.
Ohhh i know that post!!
I will like this to have an information center in my phone
Wait they added a "blend" effect when shrinking an object? That totally destroys the effect
Depends there are several instances where the shrinking objects shrink just fine, idk but i guess its a mechanic for the really large objects when they are too close
@@miguelcruz2941 In most cases the solution to that would be to pick them up from far away. I guess they wanted to make sure you could shrink something even if you couldn't get far enough away to make it smaller normally. It's a bit of a deviation from the logic of the situation though.
My friend: I had a dream I kissed my crush
My dreams:
Haha dude same. Although just this morning though. My dreams are usually bland.
i had a dream where i fucked a flower pot.
My dreams: hyperfixation.
Favourite tv show/Favourite book self inserts, weird omnidimentional fuckery both like and unlike this game.
@@galaxy2995 ok you win.
Tell me more.
Such a cool concept, love these innovative and creative indie games but I would try to place that door with the "push to open" sign on the door with the "some doors are better left closed" one to see what happens
That's an idea of a genius!
I just tried this-- you can't get the door in the right position to do so. There's a table in the way, unfortunately.
"Some doors are best left closed."
*Immediately tries to open door*
Reminds me of the Stanley parable
The main menu right? Yeah me too
_Yeah me too_
I think it’s because of the liminal space
The Stanley Parable:Dream Edtion
Whats really weird is that you remind the Stanley Parable of _me_ - I havent even played it!
It's like Portal but on drugs 😂 If I remember correctly, Portal's predecessor was based around some reality warping stuff with a camera, so it's cool to have a game that uses similar mechanics!
Zack King is gonna love this game
I actually bought this game a couple of months ago. I beat it all in one sitting and was absolutely mesmerized with the gameplay. Remember when Portal first came out and it felt like something that was so new that you couldn't even comprehend how someone could have thought it up? That is this game too. So much fun and super creative.
Absolutely reminds me of Portal. Glad there weren't any stupid horror elements in the game. Just a wholesome puzzle.
I swear I saw a game like this one about a year or two ago. It was very mind-bending/clever also.
Like how one of the soda options is baking soda. Funny. 5:03
@EdZ ok, makes sense now.
I'm glad this game is finally leaving the Epic Game Store. I've been super interested in this game but absolutely refuse to use that store. Looks like whatever exclusivity deal they signed is finally running out.
@@richardgao8730 Of course they wouldn't.
Remember when this was called museum of simulation technology? This game is such a cool idea and surprisingly relaxing.
I remember when the depelopers weren't greedy.
Don't know the point of saying someone played the game before.
Superliminal: "HEY YOU! JOIN THE NAVY!"
15:38 if you see your parents, punch them in the face hard as you can and immediately run away
*wOaH*
Hey remember when markiplier played the Museum of Simulation Technology?
This is that now.
@Jack K if you mean the one that takes place in a museum exhibition or some sort then I think it is the right one
What game?
@Jack K I believe the game was called "Museum of Simulation Technology"
Yeah I remembered
@Jack K It’s this one: ruclips.net/video/zRahomJUVrw/видео.html
I'd love to see a camera out of bounds of this game.
Petition to rename this game to "Zach King - The Simulator" 🤯
This game is amazing. It has very motivating plot
This bruh literally skipped a whole section of the game.
Stranger Man What section?
which section?
Throughout the video I was repeatedly agape and thinking "holy shit WTF!" This looks dope.
Saw CallMeKevin play this. Looks like a proper mindscrew.
no one:
ABG: "every fire alarm must be pulled"
game:has interesting content
Bobbert:proceed by pressing each fire alarms and extinguishers found.
This has always been my dream super power!! (Other than complete control over anything). Because it’s just so cool! Like I’ve always imagined this!
try lucid dreaming methods. u can practice inducing them instead of waiting for them naturally (happens some people). u can go beyond things like just controlling ur dream world and stay conscious. If you become good, you can even manipulate ur subconscious to have better control of the dream, directly talk to ur subconscious and find out about things u didn't know about urself, and even affecting ur waking life like literally programing ur mind to have another lucid dream the next night XD
Were you... were you using those fire extinguishers as hand sanitizers?
does anyone here remember constantine's house in thief: dark project?
Huzzah, a man of quality!
6:08 hey Flanders, love your new house?
"For instance, if you see your parents, please punch them in the face and immediately run away."
I never thought watching someone play a game could piss me off so much
this game reminds me of the ''Stanley parable'', which i love.
so based on that perspective, i will probably enjoy playing this game as well!
i like cool and odd/surreal games like that!
I like that the guy touched the fire extinguishers every time he can even we know there's nothing going to happen.
I had never seen such a unique game. It's incredibly interesting. And very beautiful, too.
Max Howarth! I'd recognize that voice from the depths to the pinnacle.
Reminds me of Portal and Antichamber with more real life like environments.
Gotta mention this: you cannot read anything while dreaming
@j philop that's not what I mean. It is impossible to read in a dream. The letters and markets will be incomprehensible. It is however your dream, so what occurs is your brain will interpret the message even though the symbols make no sense. I've opened books, seen signs, and been aware of what the message therein. Yet visually the words and letters were simply scribbles. That's true for everyone because the part of the brain responsible for symbol interpretation, or reading, is inactive.
@@benluther1824 then you realize in a "apocalyptic-like dream", you can read. aww frick
I had this dream
it reminded me of another game. there was a similar location with pictures. disturbing psychedelic music played in the background. horror game. I do not remember the name of this game.
does anyone understand what game I'm talking about?
Milky Way I hope someone responds with the answer because now I’m thoroughly intrigued.
@@KahruSuomiPerkele no.
the design of this game is more simplified, cartoony, surreal.
in this way reminds entourage of "we happy few"
Milky Way thief: dark project?
AHa! This is an Non Euclidian dimension
The channel: make people feels scary
People: MeMeS cOmMenTs
I love games like this
I love puzzles
And I love mind bending
Hey you! Join the Navy!
I've played this. Well... It's like a kid of Portal and Stanley Parable, which was educated by Nolan's Inception.
Seems like a new and improved version of the game Museum Of Simulation Technology! :)
It literally is
5:31 very calming music I can relax to in New York. Maybe go out to a restaurant, smoke a cigar and talk about the love of my life. Maybe have a few shots with the guys and discuss life. Maybe catch a taxi to God knows where but dammit I’m gonna make it work.
So... whats the story here?
I'm just left wondering one thing. Where is Stanley...?
You ever notice programmers love the game of chess ? in most games you see some significance of pieces of chess or chessboard.
most games lol?
you are a boppin lad
*STANLEY!?* is that you? How did you get in this game? Your supposed be in the Stanley parable! Not Superliminal. Right, I'll just have to guide you to the exit, then we can get back on track!
Instant portal vibes. Especially the doors w the translucent/watery lookin doorways tht say "no objects beyond this point," jus like in Portal. The same kind of thing you walk thru during lvls and to the elevator tht reset your portal gun.
This reminds me of that game Museum of Simulation Technology (Markiplier played it)
Imagine if this happens in real life, global warming wouldn't exist, global hunger also wouldn't exist and most of our problems an be solved by making things bigger or making things smaller.
Strange code found:
Eggshell
C9B79D
3da595
I wish it didn't have that transparent effect when you shrink an object. It just totally pulls you out of the magic of what's going on.
I thought this would become a horror game
It's not scary until you're told (9:40) that you're trapped in this place and they don't know how to get you out. It's some kind of dream study that went wrong and now you're permanently stuck wandering around in your own mind for eternity if they can't find a way to wake you up.
this reminds me of portal
Perspectives that this game showcases is why one can’t just fully denounce the flat earth theory, lol.
came here from kirby screaming playlist and now i am disappointed.
I have never played this game, but I listen to its soundtrack. I have listened it for MONTHS.
It's like that time the people of Springfield built a house for Ned Flanders.
Although this video made me feel like my stomach was doing back flips and made me a bit sick. This does look like an intriguing game
What if it was in vr
*Fire extinguishers exist*
ABG: and i took that personally
This guys are releasing something similar 2 weeks from now: twitter.com/OtherviewGame
This is what a video game is supposed to be. A world where the player can do the impossible.
What the actual f**k?
Neat take on abusing perspective to solve puzzles.
This game has the potential to be the new generation Portal.
This seems kind of like F-stop
I want to see the game. Not watch ads every 3 minutes.... 👎👎
What music is this? Can somebody share the link?
Does anyone know how to get the demo? Steam only let's you follow the game, not get a demo.
A game that trolls you around every corner. Nice.
Wasn't there a game like this where it was in like a museum or something?
This game is short but pretty interesting you know?
Why such an abrupt ending or is there more to come later?
Take a shot every time this guys pulls a fire alarm.
Superliminal?
More like
Bore Ragnarok
Haha jokes on you i played this before you
This is honestly one of the most calming games I have seen in a while
4:56 Dream Soda? Oh yeah, I love that album too
I can’t believe I got scared by a chess piece
Not as good as Antichamber.
This game fills me with disgust to watch
This is wonderful
No one:
The Houses in my dreams: 4:38-5:18.
:O incredibly accurate!
there are a lot of fire alarms in this game
I am sure i have had dreams like this
