This is Jennifer Sinclair. Ahhhhh....I love this after school special. No one is murdered, raped; watching it doesn't cause me nightmares. Thank you!

Defenitely made me smile.Pretty fun to watch. As a guy i remember it was pretty cool having home economics for the first time in 6th grade....the same year this show was made as a matter of fact.We had to sew a little stuffed baseball or a football or a soccerball...lol.Mine was a little crooked but I did it.I soon would help my mom baking cookies and cupcakes and just loved it.Later in life I showed my wives a different thing or two in the kitchen,I dont think either one was as good at baking as I was,but they could cook meals pretty good..

This may very well be my favorite after-school special of all time. First time watching this. Wish I had seen it back in the day. I was a latchkey kid and rarely ate well after school and weeknights. Single parent home and she worked nights to avoid responsibilities of raising me. Had to do it by myself. If I had learned to cook on my own as a kid and then a teenager, I would have rocked it. Don't care what anyone says, learning about different kinds of foods & cooking food right is in the top five of the most essential skills to have next to a regular steady exercise routine that's personalized just for your body type. These two are a must and tell fast food corporations to take a hike and get bent permanently. 💓💦🪶🍖🥩🥫😋

Chefs, tailors, and cleaners are professional careers for men and women.
Women are usually called seamstress and cook and housekeeper.
Both men and women are capable of doing laundry and washing dishes.

I used to watch a lot of afterschool specials. The first time I ever saw this one, was on the Disney Channel. One of my favorites. The mom played a very intelligent, levelheaded character. The baseball game at the end was really entertaining to watch. Thanks for sharing.😊

No problem with that, though it is problematic that girls are not taking home ec anymore - leaving them ignorant about the subject. Also troublesome how girls are being manipulated towards accepting that traditional male subjects are preferable and superior.

And in needing one another, lies great strength towards bonding, and building strong families.
Also, in reality men are not interested to compete against burnt-out (super)women, who are bending over backwards to outdo men, but are far better suited towards protecting and providing (how far-fetched that may seem).

Your statement is hard to understand. Are you implying people were more accepting in 1981 than in 1951? If so, that's not true. Acceptance is more of a regional thing. Also, don't you remember what was going on in 1981?
