When engine is cold & new do not push the engine over 5000rpm, you can push your bike over 5000 rpm after 5 minutes of riding when engine is warm. This is basic knowledge for a rider. Choose the Duke, if you want the experience. i.e., the power delivery, excellent handling, and the thrill that comes with it. The Quality levels on the Speed is a notch above surely (paint job etc). Also the 40bhp is not that usable on the speed, whereas the entire 31 bhp is meant to be used on the ktm.

The initial is good, but Dukes are generally good at mid & top range performance. And it does that beautifully. At lower gear and revs the engine is a little boomy (if you will), but as we all know that Dukes are bought for performance, so this shouldn't be a problem.
