Well sports fans its taken a minute but the new race van is almost here.. I wanted a Toyota Hiace for just chucking moto's in at home but couldn't find one...then it escalated to their 1970's US postal van I found on eBay...
Skip ahead and she's getting a BMW 535 diesel 400HP rear wheel drive engine fitted with an LSD.
By complete accident its literally the exact same van Borat had in his movie.

It looks a lot like our U.S. mail delivery trucks and since all our mail trucks have right side drive it very well could have been.
Seems like an older style too so it probably still runs like a champ with a bit of TLC

That was a US mail van. That's how he found a stamp order form from 1988 in it.
The BUS is very cool, allows for so much room... until i heard the latest fuel bill...
what u have here is an old US mail truck as seen on my streets in late 80s... durable but scary.

Not my choice of transportation after going thru the wind screen on a VW bus completely.
I will never ride in a vehicle where there is little to nothing between passenger and road but a piece of glass!
As a mailman I can say this is 100 percent an old mail truck! So stoked for this!

When I was a junior in high school my aunt worked for the Post Office I CA. I just got my license and needed a vehicle to get to school. My aunt said since she worked there she could get me one of those for about $400. I was grateful for the offer but I knew I would get beat up bringing one of those to school. LoL. So I opted for a '85 Toyota MR2 as my first car. ;). #memories

Wow. I had not watched your video to see that you've already done a ton of work on that thing. If it has 350 to 400 horsepower The number one thing I would want is a complete roll cage. And maybe a 270° awning on the roof check that out online.
Can those wheel wells be narrowed? That might allow two bikes to get in there.
Looking at the frame that is in the wheel wells, no way to narrow them without completely redesigning the suspension.

That's exactly what it is is a US male truck. You notice all the details of scrubbed off of it and it's beat to death. Usually one door is locked or rigged in such a way that it will not open easily for the safety of the driver and the mail that's inside. They are short not overly powerful. I believe the reason it's allowed in the UK is cuz it's not in the USA. I don't think I've ever seen a US citizen owning one of those I could be wrong. But it's definitely x-US government property. I'd have someone who knows how to weld and fabricate check everything that you can weld and fabricate on that thing The drivers normally beat them to death. Good luck maybe a big blown wrap motor have some who knows put in a narrowed 9-in rear end some wheelie bars on the back since you're crazy man. Be a pretty cool rig peace
