I love how the evolution of this show seems to have gone hand in hand with the evolution of skills by everyone involved. From two guys doing shade tree mods in their drive way to full on restoration projects with camera operators, editors and expert help in a proper garage. And yet.... they are still working on a Gemini. Love it.
Evolution of the audience as well, the type of videos they used to do was both entertaining amd informative to 18yr old me, now the new videos are entertaining and informative to 30yr old me because our builds have upgraded as well
As a trimmer, I hate it when people even watch me work.. He did well having a camera 10" from his head recording for the world to see Could have brushed the contact on the car and put a glue sheet on the floor first though 😜
@@mightycarmods Marty, I’m curious to know what that board you used for the rear parcel tray was, I watched him heat it to shape…. What was that???? My coupe came with no parcel tray as it was a roller!!! Please let me know looks great
i always appreciate Dave’s appearances on this channel, incredibly knowledgeable whilst being incredibly humble, and always reiterates that wiring work isnt hard, it just requires a methodical approach
This is the comment thread I wish the internet had more of, positive, respectful and everyone just appreciating the hard work and dedication of these very talented people.
What talented people? Repeatedly doing the same job over and over and over and over again are how skills are honed that's not talent . There's no talent at all wasted on this car, It's just another generic blue gemini.
thank you guys you and your channel has reignited my passion recently for cars, I grew up watching you in your driveway just chopping (literally) cars apart to see what happens. I hope you guys knows how much impact you make on people's lives in a positive way. thank you for all of it
Blair, My goodness man. The beats on smoke and fire starting at 2:40 are absolutely incredible. Your a legend. I always have your music going during my daily commute and when I hear new toons or remade tunes of your songs I feel incredible. like I'm discovering a lost treasure. the beats come on and I'm like wait, is that.?? oh my! that sounds so freaking good. and as always the videos are as good as ever boys, especially the fishing conversation... hahah Thanks for your hard work boys.
Best part, the cherry on top, is when old friends of the channel drop by. MCM is the best automotive channel - i can say that after all this time without a shadow of a doubt.
I am an 80’s kid! Gemini’s were a joke back then.. 253’s were the best we could afford. I am amazed with what you guys are doing and you have me hooked 👍
Weird take away, but as a sound guy I am absolutely impressed with how good your mix sounds on my phone. That's not easy to achieve. Your RUclips videos sound better than Netflix productions. Almost forgot I was watching on the small device!
Fellow engineer here.. Came for the cars when I was a teenager, but I stayed for the amazing production and good vibes as I got older and went on to study audio.. Can only dream of creating and carving my own sonic signature as moog has, it's SO recognizable as him every single time! I also watch MCM exclusively through my studio monitors because I KNOW the audio is gonna be top notch every farkin video :D
I did manage to grab a poster, I don't have a lot of money but I do like to support the show however and whenever I can, a lanyard here a T-shirt there, but I can't express enough how much I love everything you guys do and want to always see more. It's a real treat to see new episodes and I only hope and wish to one day see you guys in real life some day. A pipe dream I know but a dream none the less. Keep cracking on and make amazing cars and videos for all of us with petrol in our veins and turbos in our hearts.

Hi Marty. What like about your project cars is the love you put into them, not just an LS swap. I'm also grateful that you show that these restoration cars are a community project. This requires the specialized skills auto body shops, engine builders, metal fabricators and welders, wiring expert's. interiors, etc. It's great to see all these talented people working to build a wonderful car. Absolutely agree. Very hard to find old school experience these days. And when you do, they really care about your project. That said, I am half way through my Gemini re-build in Melbourne (Ok, 12years isn't long?) . I have the fully balanced and blue printed G180, bored to 2L Fuel system is able to keep up with twin down draft 40mm Webbers (trying to keep period accurate), but rebuilt mechanical dizzy not able to cope. Incredible series, I can’t imagine how good this must feel Martin. My mate rebuilt the same Gemini with his dad and delivered pizzas in it! We’ve reconnected recently over this series and it’s given big warm and fuzzies.
this build truely feels like a Mighty Car Mods magnum opus. all the faces we've seen over the years coming together for Marty's years of planning and passion

Hearing "Collide" took me right back... I looked up at the photo of myself with you guys at the MCM Nationals in 2015 and realised how much time has passed!
Watching these guys for over 10years with over 5 personally failed personal attempts at youtube, mighty car mods is the best 4wd channel on the planet that has carried my passion for DIY car builds since I was a child to an adult with not even a single ad in their vidoes. From windy drive way daihatsu builds and piss mk4 vw's golfs to gemini restomod builds like this these two guys are my all time favourite hero's that time and time again remind me whether its 100.000ksh or 1m ksh builds without a mate by yourside no matter the eyballs it can never be a mighty mod!
I love all the RUclips car builds of all types but this has got to be the best way to do it. Rather than taking a year to get stuff done you did it all in advance and release the videos every few days. This is the way to go!

That GM T-platform certainly came in many varieties! Like Opel, Vauxhall, GMC, Chevrolet, Izuzu to name but a few off the top of my head. This is a new one to me...
Loving this build boys - flash backs to my youth when I had 6 of these Gems in various states of carnage - none anywhere near approaching this level of clean haha.
This is one of the best builds you guys have done. It's JDM, it's oldschool, and it's being done perfectly in my mind. In fact, it's a real credit to you guys to be able to do both a top notch build, and create really good quality content out of it at the same time.
Epic group of GOATs in the OZ industries to collaborate on your build. 3:24 Dude is such a pro, he doesn't even need anything for overspray of his glue gun! 🦾
One time, I borrowed my Brother's Gemini in terrific, canary yellow. There was a hole the size of a football in the passenger footwell. It was 1998 and there was floods in the suburbs around Wollongong. That little Gemini half filled with water after we got turned around by the SES and despite there being rocks the washing right over the road she powered on.
Someone already commented what I was going to. Your videos and productions are amazing but the tracks you create are an entire challenge of your abilities and tallents. I create music in multiple genres as a hobby for around 15 years so I know what it takes. Thank you both and your crew!
One of my fav builds so far! I had a TD Gemini Panel Van from 1979 - 1984. Tuned, extractors, hotdogs, mags (larger in the back, lol). Wish I had kept it.
Really enjoying this series on the Gemini. It reminds me of a time I had a turbo escort and was going to do a very similar process. Sadly I didn't have time for it and sold it off. So I get to live my dream through Mighty Car Mods, Thanks guys for your great vids and entertainment.
Luving this build, I had a 1985 4 door gem . Named pocket rocket, bought it for 700$. Tons of rust, bog and patched it up. Lowered, extracteds and a hot dog muffler. Tiger skin seat covers, went well with only 1 or 2 people in it. Was such a fun car to drive, hung on to the road like it was on rails. When I retired it, it went to my m8, he had 2 gems and needed parts.
14:00 Dave is a fucking LEGEND! I've seen the Haltech vid's with him and hes an OG on MCM love seeing him and Al working on this build just the like the old days!!! \m/
What a super looking car, the gas tank is an art piece 🧩 just like the rest of the car. Reminds me of Datsun, my Mom had a B210 and I had the 240z. Love those cars ❤
I love episodes with Turbo Yoda, Dave, Tuning Fork as guest and Marty and Moog madness. They are so cool guys, each insanely talented in their own field. You know you learn something useful each time. :)
I just spoke to Hani on the phone today as my Capella will be going next door to VIS rotary, I came back as I thought I remembered that Marty had also gotten a new fuel tank from him. This affirms that Hani is the right person to be doing mine
my first job was working for gemini spares and repaires...i was even handed the tools and shown how to build the motor in my first week. My work place had a drag coupe sitting in the shop and other gems around,i was in heaven. My first car was a tc
Seeing this build Marty makes me miss my old LJ 2dr Torrie, bought it cheap back in late 90s and sold it as a rolling shell for way too cheap after 10yrs of no progress on the resto, wish I had it now as I've more funds to resto it but long gone!
Shoutout to Dave-O and Haltech´s excellent Nexus R3 and PD16 combo! I believe many subscribers like myself are in the process of converting their project cars to R3 + PD16 or similar combinations so this seems very relatable - It would be great seeing you guys making a dedicated deep-dive on how the new wiring loom is being put together. Also the fact that the Gemini will need to go through engineering and having it to keep a road legal set up is IMO a massive bonus for this series! I really, really appreciate MCM building real life cars with such passion and dedication - looking forward to the next steps of this brilliant project, you´re doing a fantastic job!!

Guys, this is a truly, utterly sensational build, the quality of every single facet of it is unbelievable, such skill, many epics.
Amazing to see the culmination of many skilled people coming together 👌
