I say the pricing is good for one person I work by myself you probably can charge more because you have a team to pay !keep going up as you grow. Keep going I’m growing my detail business right a long with you. Been working in a shop 8 years running their business I’m building mine right now! I’m having issues on how to price when people are out of state! Support from Michigan!
I found that the people who don't understand how much work goes into it often continue to devalue your work. I tend to drop them as customers because they give your business a bad name. You can't please them for anything and they end up hurting your reputation sometimes.
Your prices are on par with the detailers in my area. I just had my wife and I cars done. Interior and exterior detail with iron removal, clay, and sealant for $180 each. I'm also doing monthly maintenance details for $80.
Bro...I believe Scott from Dallas Paint Correction said it best..."you are not a car washer...you are a Professional Detailer"...you gotta charge more...why even offer a $50 detail bc most likely ppl will go for the cheapest detail...let your cheapest detail still be profitable..you gotta make money and your business needs to make money...this way you are not wasting your time nor theirs.
Are. You fully booked??? Do you have trouble getting work?? Just wondering if you stay busy..the way you price your detail depends on the area and market… I have my own shop for 11 years and always busy. Even in the winter time in Michigan. I have over 20,000 vin #. I have been doing detailing for 20years. At my shop I charge $175 car $200 suv $225 xl suv Dealer price $160 car $170 suv The dealership pays the bills Average about 30k a month Full details polish and wax!!! In my area we have to do volume detailing. You have to adapt to your market!!
@@oscarguzman1865 good point bro...gotta know your market. Gotta alsofocus on markets with more disposable income that can pay the higher price....get the markets for volume and the markets for margin to stay profitable
Finally a video I have been waiting for. I’m always curious how people set there prices but everyone only says, “charge what you think you are worth.” This is exactly what I wanted to hear to compare my business with others
Thank the lord I watched this video I’ve been charging WAAY to little. My prices were okay for when I started out but the level of work I’m putting out now isn’t comparable to the early days. I’ve always thought about raising prices and customers have even told me I’m underselling myself (I didn’t care because I enjoy it and was still making good profit margins) but this video finally made me up it👍🏻
Your prices are on point! It's your value! As for as mileage...we charge .50 up to $1 a mile if it's outside our coverage area..plus not driving 100 miles for a express wash. Keep a the great work fam.🙏👊
I'm in the DMV and my starting rate for a Standard Detail is $125.00. I started at $60 but increased my rates every 6 months. Had to learn upsell and price according due to condition.
Best way to see if your price is competitive, call the local detail services in the area ask for price quotes. Compare the prices and adjust accordingly.
Not good advice at all. 🤦🏾♂️. especially if he has more value added then all the others. he needs to be the highest charging mobile detail company in his area. The clients are out there that will pay more for quality. I'm living testimony on this💯💯💯
Enjoy your videos. I’ve been cleaning houses for almost 7 years. Getting ready to start mobile Detailing. Haven’t even started yet, and got 18 vehicles lined up. Keep growing bro. We got this.
Dude thank you for being transparent about clay bars. It should not be used for regular washes but so many of these corporate detailers do it because its an easy way to get a glass finish but long run its not ideal.
Charge more bro I detail cars too and trust me people think it’s just cleaning a car but in reality it’s more than just cleaning it. I’m going to fully start on my own detailing business within these upcoming weeks you made me realize what to look for and watch out for thanks brotha
You really getting paid! I have a mobile detailing van but I’m not pushing it hard due to having a full time job, but you are making me want to quit my job and get back on my grind. If I was charging prices like you I’d be straight Bro. Keep pushing and doing videos cause you’re going to take off!
That’s my issue to I drive a semi over night locally but, he also lives where it’s warm all of the time I live in Chicago only way for that to work is to open a shop here.
@@Dirtygymshoes that’s my problem. I’m also in Chicago (south side) and I am a full time bus operator and I detail out of my garage. Good money on weekends in the summer but the winter time is almost a no go due to the fact I don’t have a heated water supply for my garage.
I've had many detailers wash 3 of my dirty work trucks for over 350 and missed some spots and not even underwash thembut I'm not a picky customer best way to detail a car is thinking you're detailing your own and that's why I'm going to start my own business
Even from two years ago, Mr. Wayne, your prices are roughly about what I would charge for my vehicles but this is two years ago. Things are more expensive now than they were two years ago but keep up the good work brother Wayne and Hunter’s mobile detailing.
i like how you said based on condition cause people expect something different heres a list of things people ask about: blood stains, vomit, feces, dead animal removal (sometimes they hit things like birds) carpet mud removal, stain removal, fungal spore removal, tar removal, traffic film, rust, MUD heavy mud or flooded cars yes theres been some that have been in a flooded area these need heavy repair due to mold that could form. heavy pollinated cars, heavily black spotted cars. you have to be ready for the worst sometimes theres spiders all inside the car and leaves and other crittters hell there was a lady who had a tiny alligator inside her van you just never know what you will find people also leave their trash in the car and expect you to clean it and dump it i have a fee for that as well.
You have been doing amazing. I think raising your prices because you are in such high demand you will get better customers and not have to work as hard. Also work on getting really good maintenance clients. They are the easiest and quickest jobs so they become really profitable. And once you get booked up with maintenance you don't have to do any advertising, marketing, or accepting new clients
I am sure you have learned this by now but, Let the customer know that the $150 is the starting price of your package, If your vehicle is in an excessive damage of condition, the service price can change based upon the condition such as pet hair or excessive trash in vehicle. This is 2022 you have learned a lot so far and we appreciate you sharing your journey with the public. Don't share everything with us though. Some things are better kept inside of your company. LOL. God Bless you Mr. Hunter.
Definitely in the right ballpark IMO. I think you should simplify it something like what we use -Maintenance Wash $50-$65 -Mini detail- small/ or clean vehicles $100-140 -Standard detail $150-180 -Full detail $220+ Everything from extractions, sealants, clay, engine bay etc are all up sales depending on customer needs/expectations.
Pennsylvania here. I tell everyone interior averages 110 for sedan. If its not bad I then lower price accordingly. Im starting to get vehicles that arent that bad, but as I tell my customers- I still have to go over the entire interior- its like vacuuming a carpet. You still vacuum the whole rug in the living room even if its not bad.
been watching you channel brother, your like a father figure to me bro, keep it up dont stop the grinding and trust me best is yet to come.. need more men like this in the world today, who's willing to learn from other and could take and make changes in life. God Bless
Been enjoying your videos !!! Just subscribed …. I’m doing mobile detailing on the side out of my Kia Sportage, hoping to one day start my own mobile detailing business. Detailing cars is therapeutic for me I drive as far as the car takes me I charge 100 for small cars and suvs and 125 for large trucks and suvs 150 and up for XL vehicles on the interior … interior details come with a quick wash just to give the extra little smile 125 for exterior washes for small cars and suvs and 150 and up for large and extra large vehicles. This is just me nobody else takes me up to 4 hours to do a full detail on the interior depending on how dirty it is. And about 2-2.5 hours for exterior I’m very picky with my work so I like to make every as perfect as possible
We’re about the same on pricing but paint correction I’m going up on my price I went to a body shop and I told him the dealership down the street called me to buff a Dooley for them and I told them $400 and they didn’t want to pay the price after the body shop quoted them a price of $1200! I told the guy that that same costumer who’s truck it was for paid me herself because she saw my work and wanted it done! The body shop guy saw it and said I was cheating myself that he wouldn’t buff for no less than a $1000.00 you are right bro we are going to learn and grow together
For animal hair y'all use the Lily brush. Use the MJJC foam cannon. Use the uber flex hose. I'm thinking maybe charge per mile anything outside of a 30 mile radius. Only because after that it's costing you gas plus adding 60 plus miles on your mobile vehicle every time you travel that far. Never travel more than an hour out unless you feel the guaranteed price is right. Also charge a deposit that is non refundable and also get contracts protecting you from any damages that are prior to the detail. I'm probably forgetting some stuff but I hope this helps.
Much Love !!! keep doing ur thang !! My opinion : Express Wash !!!!! Cars/$80 Mid Size/ $100 Large/$120 & up due to condition . All include exterior air blow out, with tire shine only. They want extra charge extra.
This is my third year, I keep my packages simple and charge about $50 more if I have to go an hour out. I try to keep most of my packages at $100-$150 and up for detailing and between 50-75 for wash and vac lvl services.
I raised my prices for a full detail from 275 to a variable 400-500 on the same package. Not only did I book MORE, but the cars I was getting were cleaner, newer, and with much sweeter customers!
thanks for making this. Pricing is the hardest thing for me. Doing the work is great until your driving away and think dang it looks great and i didn't make enough.
Thanks brother. Like I said I just open my car wash business and need different prices and didn't know what to charge . This helps and gives me an idea on what to charge.
My comment is about the jobs and their locations. If the location is out of your normal service area, the amount of money that you charge would need to equal the cost of what you would be earning if you stay local that day. I ran a.k.a. managed an automotive glass shop off and on for 10 years and that’s the way I did it. At the end of the day it’s a business and the business has to earn money instead of breaking even going out of your way.
Here's a suggestion, if your mechanically inclined or know anyone that knows how to do oil changes, spark plugs, air filters, brakes, ect, all the simple tune up type stuff you can do on the car right in the driveway where you plan to wash it, that may be a good idea cause all you need is a few tools & a jack & the parts ahead of time & maybe a set of cover all's you can slip on to do the car work & off to wash the car. Most of those services don't take long & they pay well. Anyway just a thought that come to mind. You have the most reasonable prices ive seen. I hate those people that try to knock your head off. Your services is targeted at most of the population who cant spend $1,000+ on a detail. You probably even get people that do there own detailing but figure its worth having you to do it at that price range. Fair upfront pricing with no haggling goes a long way. Keeping business simple works & even if there are economic down turns you'll shouldn't lose any business at all. In fact you may gain some. What ever you do don't go in debt to much.
problem with the lower price services like express wash is the driving to and from the customer .... I would only do these if i was in the area at the time ... or you could do it like this >>>< send someone 2 weeks prior to deliver flyers saying you will be in this area at a certain date .... For example if you have clients booked in in 2 weeks time deliver flyers in that area before hand letting them know you will be in the area ..
I’m just starting out it’s kind of hard for me to get jobs. When someone does hit me up for a full detail I feel like if I tell them what I want to charge them for what they want done they are going to say never mind. I just do it on the side but I’ve spent a lot of money on it. People don’t understand that or think about that. The chemicals, pressure washer, vacuum, extractor, steamer, brushes, picks, air compressor, drill and drill brushes. That all isn’t free and neither is my time.
For your basic washes try using not so expensive products and for your premium washes used the top quality products to drive your price. And maybe for your basic washes don’t add the shine because the rims and tires just need to be washed not diamond quality. Make sure basic is basic so you will have better levels to your pricing while also making the levels worth your time and money in replacing your products. Great channel bro I just started watching and I’m loving the knowledge and content
Whats good Hunter Gang! My only advice for pricing is to not ever undersell the quality of your work. If you are putting some top notch work, do not under charge, that is always the sin for SOO many new detailers because they are afraid of the "what if they dont like my service" and other self doubting mentalities. If you wanna make $100/hr, charge based off how fast you can complete the car, same can be said for $50/hr. But once you reach $30/hr, good pay dont get me wrong, but as a detailer you shouldn't be sinking into those areas, that is car wash territory. Again nothing wrong with those pays or non detailing businesses, its just if you want to be a DETAILER, do not associate yourself with car wash practices to avoid the customer confusing you for "just a guy who washes cars" instead of a professional detailer with respectable work. Here in CA, it is becoming so common that people call themselves "detailers" when they dont even do what the name implies. Even those dollar wash places are calling themselves "wash & detail" business. Now, there is nothing wrong with the service, it is just the same issue that setting a certain expectation and price confuses the customer between "car wash" and "detailer" quality work, because in all honesty they are NOT the same. Hopefully this will shed some light on how to adjust pricing to depending what kind of services you want to do. (High End Detail vs. Basic Car Wash)
My detail business, I charge simplified pricing, and then add additional services (wet sand, road paint, interior scent bomb, remove seats, etc) and come from a flat rate mentality. Sometimes you win some, while sometimes (rarely) you lose some. But either way, you always win in the end. And customers are happy... all because they remember simplified pricing.
Honestly I’m just starting out brand new rn about a month in by myself with my truck and products I’m learning to get faster and still provide same quality I just have been struggling with options and packages have a quick wash for $40 wipe down and vacuumed of the inside but I feel for the quality I’m providing inside and out I need to raise prices but I don’t want too yet since I still have some products I don’t have like compound I have the machine no pads/much experience did it once on my DD and came out really nice but took all day lmao .. but all part of the process I know it’s only my first month so not doing bad got decent clients at least one car or 2 a day doesn’t sound much but for me starting out just going head first into it alone I was surprised I had a car every day and grateful for it
Clients generally don't know when bad is bad, my experience has taught me that older vehicles are a lot worse than newer vehicles, if the vehicle is more than 3 years old I take the current year minus the year of the vehicle they want detailed and I might multiply that by $7 and that's the extra charge on top of the base price so if the car is 20 years old it's an extra $140 automatically and if I actually get to the job and the car is not as bad I'll reduce it, that way there's no surprises
Do you ever show your priceing too first timer who are starting there business off ! I really need too learn how to price on different sets of the cars wash an detailing help a brother out ,thank you an congratulations on your success
Been detailing since 2012 started my business in 2018 .I see you coming up bro keep going I've used everything you said about interior detailing. yeah sometimes you gotta just do it for the pictures and the videos even if you are underselling youself i like to look at it as if i have nothing else to do might as well get something out of it and ive gotten so many more clients just from doing it and i end up making more than if i had never done it

I’m still new to detailing, right now I’m charging hourly, but soon I wanna charge for package deals, not lose out on money as much, underprice, or get underpaid. Right now makin $15 - $20hr 8 months into my business
That's very cheap! You want to be closer to the $50-100 an hour range, but it's better to charge based on work done vs hourly, but your goal should be $50-100 an hour. Check out Wilson Auto Detail on RUclips if you haven't already. He's young but does more videos on the buisness side of things
Awesome content brotha! I have a couple suggestions regarding your first three packages. I wouldn’t offer basic washes. After driving to the job site, using products and paying your employees I doubt that service is very profitable. So I would get rid of that service and make the Boss Special with spray wax your “entry level detail”
Always! take deposits for all details. Your time is worth it. no negotiations. always get pictures and videos when an inquiry. charge for estimates if you need. or pay someone to do the estimates so you can continue to work in the field.

Love your pricing. A lot of people don’t understand how much work detailing is and especially mobile detailing, keep up the hard work man!
💯exactly why I love this community thanks brotha def going up 💸
One thing I remember someone on RUclips saying is, “if everyone is saying yes to your prices, you aren’t charging enough.”
@@TraMENDEZ_TRANSFORMation ohhhhhhhh!!! That one hit hard!!! 🔥 I’m running with that one 💸
Are. You fully booked??? Do you have trouble getting work?? Just wondering if you stay busy..the way you price your detail depends on the area and market…
I have my own shop for 11 years and always busy. Even in the winter time in Michigan. I have over 20,000 vin #.
I have been doing detailing for 20years.
At my shop I charge $175 car
$200 suv
$225 xl suv
Dealer price $160 car
$170 suv
The dealership pays the bills
Average about 30k a month
Full details polish and wax!!!
In my area we have to do volume detailing.
You have to adapt to your market!!
@@oscarguzman1865 good point bro...gotta know your market. Gotta alsofocus on markets with more disposable income that can pay the higher price....get the markets for volume and the markets for margin to stay profitable
Im brand new to the gig and this video has been most helpful for price ideas and not undercharging or even overcharging. Thanks keep up the hard work!
I’ve always thought about raising prices and customers have even told me I’m underselling myself (I didn’t care because I enjoy it and was still making good profit margins) but this video finally made me up it👍🏻
Well did you increase prices yet?
God bless bro
What did you charge at the beginning?
Your prices are on point! It's your value! As for as mileage...we charge .50 up to $1 a mile if it's outside our coverage area..plus not driving 100 miles for a express wash. Keep a the great work fam.🙏👊
Prices to low.
I want to do a car washing detail
We in PA
Our highest package is super slam start @ $1,060
Cheapest package standard start @ $260
I would love to know what that package consist of bro thanks for sharing.
Good video don’t sell your self short this goes to every detailer out there.
I’m the highest surprisingly I did that ha
This is terrible advice, charge for the time you have in and the value you are delivering. Fuck what everyone else is doing, do it better.
@@HuntersMobileDetailing the big detail RUclips channels watching and commenting, what an honor keep grinding!
Not good advice at all. 🤦🏾♂️. especially if he has more value added then all the others. he needs to be the highest charging mobile detail company in his area. The clients are out there that will pay more for quality. I'm living testimony on this💯💯💯
terrible advice
I’m a beginner detailer and I’m glad I came across your video because I was charging little or nothing before I came across your video 9:43
Enjoy your videos. I’ve been cleaning houses for almost 7 years. Getting ready to start mobile Detailing. Haven’t even started yet, and got 18 vehicles lined up. Keep growing bro. We got this.
How did you get so many vehicles lined up bro
@@THEADZBRADZ by not knocking out enough in a timely manner. Lol
@@Dirtygymshoes I was gonna say get a tent with walls and some weights but damn its probably too windy there
@@Dirtygymshoes that’s my problem. I’m also in Chicago (south side) and I am a full time bus operator and I detail out of my garage. Good money on weekends in the summer but the winter time is almost a no go due to the fact I don’t have a heated water supply for my garage.
For deep stains, hit them with Folex first and let it sit a couple minutes before you spray your carpet solution. Makes a world of difference.
I've had many detailers wash 3 of my dirty work trucks for over 350 and missed some spots and not even underwash thembut I'm not a picky customer best way to detail a car is thinking you're detailing your own and that's why I'm going to start my own business
I’ll do cheaper in cali
Wayne you motivated me to start thanks for keeping god first not too many folks like you left out here 💪🏽
My cheapest one is $175 for a sedan. I’d rather do 2 cars a day instead of 7 for the same money
i need help pricing can u tell me whats all the charges u have and for what
Sounds about right. If only my neighborhood wasn’t poor
You are so right about people being lazy I just started doing mobile detailing about 2 weeks ago love your videos I’m still learning 💪🏽
How’s it going right now?
I am sure you have learned this by now but, Let the customer know that the $150 is the starting price of your package, If your vehicle is in an excessive damage of condition, the service price can change based upon the condition such as pet hair or excessive trash in vehicle. This is 2022 you have learned a lot so far and we appreciate you sharing your journey with the public. Don't share everything with us though. Some things are better kept inside of your company. LOL. God Bless you Mr. Hunter.
Definitely in the right ballpark IMO. I think you should simplify it something like what we use
-Maintenance Wash $50-$65
-Mini detail- small/ or clean vehicles $100-140
-Standard detail $150-180
-Full detail $220+
Everything from extractions, sealants, clay, engine bay etc are all up sales depending on customer needs/expectations.
I can listen to you talk all day 😩😍
Pennsylvania here.
God Bless
I been waiting for this one
Nice !! Thanks for taking the time to share brotha eveything helps
@@HuntersMobileDetailing
Detailing is my escape I take pride in my work and have goals I want to reach.
Im starting a "pitstop" carwash out my garage by the end of the month. Going to focus on quick exterior work only and see how that goes
Are you going to have the customers stay and wait for their vehicle?
Good idea! I would recommend getting a water filtration system so you don't even have to dry the car make it even faster
sounds like a waste of time
We’re about the same on pricing but paint correction I’m going up on my price I went to a body shop and I told him the dealership down the street called me to buff a Dooley for them and I told them $400 and they didn’t want to pay the price after the body shop quoted them a price of $1200! I told the guy that that same costumer who’s truck it was for paid me herself because she saw my work and wanted it done! The body shop guy saw it and said I was cheating myself that he wouldn’t buff for no less than a $1000.00 you are right bro we are going to learn and grow together
7:43 Last story is CRAZYYY😭😭😭😭😂 .. that’s that POWER THRU grind glad it worked out . Loving the vids bro
Just got into mobile detailing and I’ve been struggle with pricing this help 💪🏾
I raised my prices for a full detail from 275 to a variable 400-500 on the same package. Not only did I book MORE, but the cars I was getting were cleaner, newer, and with much sweeter customers!
This content is a blessing. Keep up the good work man.
thanks for making this. Pricing is the hardest thing for me. Doing the work is great until your driving away and think dang it looks great and i didn't make enough.
Yooo you the best out of all the details dude on RUclips
Starting a mobile detailing service. Good vid, i think your prices are good,...respect from Tampa Bay, FL homie. 💪🏽
For dye for carpets. I use black engine enamel let dry and dpray with a scent killer or fabuloso or somthing like that. cso it doesnt smell like paint
Bruh! Forreals! I feel ya. I always tell my customers it's a case by case on a full detail.
Thanks brother. Like I said I just open my car wash business and need different prices and didn't know what to charge . This helps and gives me an idea on what to charge.
Just know I subbed the instant you started talking. Something about your energy dude!
Love the content, starting my own Detailing company and your channel has been a lot of help!
Thanks for the content, my friend. Just throwing around the idea of a side hustle. Video was very helpful ✌🏻
I really appreciate this video. Thanks for taking the time to make this. Keep ‘em coming, I’m subscribed.
Proud of you to make good decisions in life .
problem with the lower price services like express wash is the driving to and from the customer ....
High quality content, uploads, dope camera guy, only 8k subs. Somethings not right.....
Tell me about it!!! I’m getting there bro one step at a time
I love your Attitude & Approach. And Reyes helping you along the way. Dynamic Collaboration 💪🙌
Excellent Prices my friend and good job, I have in Miami fl Mobile Auto 🚘 Detailing for 32 years, have good day 👋🚗
The way I charge for distance is $2 every minute so say it’s 30 minutes away charge $60 if it’s an hour charge $120 etc
😂
The best thing you can do in any business is set expectations from the beginning and TRY your best to exceed it resulting in happy customers FOR LIFE
Man appreciate these videos bro 💯
I’m in TX I’d consider those prices for the work you do a steal
Sounds fair the way you charge especially on the distance you have to travel.
This was helpful! I’m just starting my mobile detailing biz in Houston
Honestly I’m just starting out brand new rn about a month in by myself with my truck and products I’m learning to get faster and still provide same quality I just have been struggling with options and packages have a quick wash for $40 wipe down and vacuumed of the inside but I feel for the quality I’m providing inside and out I need to raise prices but I don’t want too yet since I still have some products I don’t have like compound I have the machine no pads/much experience did it once on my DD and came out really nice but took all day lmao .. but all part of the process I know it’s only my first month so not doing bad got decent clients at least one car or 2 a day doesn’t sound much but for me starting out just going head first into it alone I was surprised I had a car every day and grateful for it
I like your prices I have been changing to cheep thx for your advice
This content goes crazy! 😮💨🔥
Some stains just won't go especially red cool aid or soda coffee . Worst stains . You will need fabric color to fix that or just re upholstery . Keep going bro I'm trying to be part of the derailing community about to be coming out with some content
Good luck
yeah sometimes you gotta just do it for the pictures and the videos even if you are underselling youself i like to look at it as if i have nothing else to do might as well get something out of it and ive gotten so many more clients just from doing it and i end up making more than if i had never done it
Truth !!
Mr Hunter, I would charge at least 20-30 dollars more for the boss special than you do now. Good Luck and God Bless!
Going up now brotha thanks
This man Is the definition of get shit done. I know a lot about detailing and get surprised to find out he didn't know some of the stuff I knew already and I want to start a detailing business but still don't feel ready but this man just went out and did It. I’m still new to detailing, right now I’m charging hourly, but soon I wanna charge for package deals, not lose out on money as much, underprice, or get underpaid. Right now makin $15 - $20hr 8 months into my business
That's cheap bro
That's very cheap! You want to be closer to the $50-100 an hour range, but it's better to charge based on work done vs hourly, but your goal should be $50-100 an hour. Check out Wilson Auto Detail on RUclips if you haven't already. He's young but does more videos on the buisness side of things
But… I am on,y 17, so makin pretty good money compared to other friends lol, gonna be uppin soon tho

Hey Wayne you do amazing work I’m a Mobile detailer to I love how your got everything organize in your detailing van
Awesome content brotha! I have a couple suggestions regarding your first three packages. I wouldn’t offer basic washes. After driving to the job site, using products and paying your employees I doubt that service is very profitable. So I would get rid of that service and make the Boss Special with spray wax your “entry level detail”
You can market the Boss Special with Spray Wax as a “full detail” starting at $99
Thanks so much !!! I’m taking it off now !!!
