Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Me and my brother work together, no problems. We just sat and talked about how both of us didn’t want problems and wanted to open up a family business with our parents
I worked for my dad for 10 years. We fought every day because we couldn't separate that family/employee dynamic. After I quit our relationship improved significantly.
I feel this. I work for my brother hvac company and so yk those long days it gets real heated and we just go at it. I also live with him so it’s even at home. I want to quit but I can’t leave him hanging rn, just waiting for the right time
We run a dealership with my dad me my brother and my dad. fathers like when their sons grow with them and not hide behind his shadow my older brother and my dad always had that similar thing but instead of my brother quitting we opened another dealership and now it’s 3 of us 3 on the same page making money, but maybe your dad was just a harsh employer and he didn’t respect you as his son and employee. I started off detailing his cars and worked up to salesman anyway glad your relationship worked 👌🏼

Love watching your videos as I also own a detailing business that is still in the growing stages. I’ve definitely learn some things from your videos that I now use on a daily basis so thank you for that. The main reason I commented was to touch on your air compressor turning off & taking some time to start back up. The issue your having is one I ran into a while ago therefore I know the exact solution. Air compressor have a “duty cycle” (how long the compressor can run before needing to be off for as long as it was running for before cutting off) . To simplify it, you either need to A) add a auxiliary tank (additional tank) in your system, or B) upgrade to a “constant duty cycle” compressor. This type of compressor does not need a break or to be turned off to cool down. I semi solved my issue by just adding a 11 gal auxiliary tank which allowed me to have more gallons to use before my compressor would kick back on to level off the tanks. Hope this helped! Keep grinding & receiving your blessings 🙌✊
I hired my cousin about 5-6 weeks ago as my first employee for my business. Almost every week there was some issue that came up and I kept trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. This past Monday there was another situation and I had to let him go. It went pretty good but I'm 23 so to be so young and own a business and having to hire people and "boss" people around and need things done a certain way it can cause some awkwardness in your relationship if you don't keep it strictly professional. At least that's my new take on it, but I tried!
Yeah bro I’m 23 as well and i own a detail business but i feel weird telling people what to do because i never have that authority before but it takes some getting used to

Be certain to drain your compressor tank a few times a week. It is probably filling up with lots of water which in turn leads to failure of the valves and such due to internal corrosion. It has already been mentioned about the check valve too. Really enjoy watching how you handle situations and you are learning and growing. Wish you were here in Fort Worth to tackle some of the cars on my lot!
I find that in this industry most detailers are introverted and are aiming to have people meet their perfect standards which is cool. Switch from being a detailer to a business owner and invest in people. Currently have a team in toronto making minimum 200$ each and im making 250$ for each head. Be a business owner not a detailer.
i would conisder changing that yellow nozzle for the white 40 ° nozzle.. Somehwre down the line you need a higher flow pressure washer with a wider spray pattern. ( much more efficient & quicker )
On your air compressor problem… how many gallons is your air compressor ? You can only use em for so long until you have to give em time to reload with air
i think you are using the fortress air comp still if i recall. i would try draining the tank with the valve on the bottom they have a vacuum issue. if that doesn't work it is probably overheating and you will have to put it in a more ventilated area. You will also need to take care of the oils and make sure that you are changing them regularly. This will help you out in solving the problem for good. There is an interval for changing these oils and not only that, but you will also have to mind the viscosity of these lubricants that you are using. Make sure that you are using the right oils and that is going to help you in solving the overheating problem on your air compressor.
Took me one time to learn this lesson...had my uncle help me on a big job once and I could tell he felt some type of way about me telling him what to do..lol
You might need to replace your check valve on your air compressor. Also business is business you can hire a friend but while you're at work you're the boss he's the employee and there's no friendship involved. The most important thing you can learn in life is how to say no.
Bro I don't know if this may help but getting a magnet and a basic clip board so you can slap it on the van so it can be easy to access and quicker to check off rather then running inside the van to look at the clipboard everytime.
Straight up - you need to have an employee handbook/list of guidelines just like you do for your different wash systems to keep the structure throughout your business. I guarantee not one company anybody else has worked at has been hired without first signing some sort of agreement after reading or going through an online webex training that indicated they understood what was expected of them and what the consequences would be if they failed to follow the rules. You need to have some sort of discipline structure in place for instances like with what happened with your friend. I.E - First time failure to respond by 7am = Warning, Second time = Write up, Third time = termination. This also covers you in case they try to say you never told them or properly laid out the expectations. Good luck and keep at it!
Those are the kind of things I’m having a hard time coming up with that’s all new to me. So I’m working on that kind of stuff now. I appreciate you bringing that to my attention
To keep it short bro, You have to be very upfront with friends and family in business. They need to understand that you have a business to run, money to make and a reputation to uphold. If they have an issue with that, or you feel they are the type to have an issue with that, save the relationship right then and there and say “ hey look, i don’t think this is going to work out the way we think it is, I don’t think it’s a good idea “ that’s just me.
I’ve worked with friends (not family, that’s whole other dynamic lol) but who tend to have the same work mentality, we can joke around and have a good time but understanding to be productive and it’s gone good. I like how Wayne explained to clear the water in the beginning so it can be clear this is business. I believe it’s a learning experience both but specifically to the friend to understand that life isn’t about being spoon fed and have a taste of how the world works; if you don’t than you’re not helping them. Learning experience. Mad love to the channel bro.

I’ve been detailing with my dad since I was 13, I’m 25 now , over the years we perfected working as a team & some days we don’t even need to communicate , because we’re so in sync
I used to work for my brother. Only problems we had was he expected twice the work and gave half the credit he had with other employees. Luckily we always had good communication. It all worked out. We're closer now than ever. But it's hard working with family or friends no matter what side you're on.
Aight NY in the house. You need a better or bigger air compressor. They can only hold but so much air. As your using it the air runs low then it kicks on making all that noise. It only kicks on when the pressure gets low because your using it. Then it turns on and compresses the air. So a bigger one or a better.
My mom always said never hire friends or family. Most of the time it’s a bad idea but sometimes it can work. It all depends on whether you’re on the same page and are able to separate business from personal life. Some people can some can’t.
When you use the blower it keeps the dust in the air and it slowly falls. When your done with the inside cleaning the dust falls. Damp micro fiber rag works best.
Thanks for sharing the CRM app. I’m not that happy with the one I’m using. Look forward to you’re review. I hate that mine charges me a large process fee every time a customer pays through it. As far as the friend/family deal, like you said, set the expectations upfront.
Mechanical engineering major and detailer here: Cut off is likely do to the length of hose. Just like if u add length to an under powered pressure washer it’ll cut off…same thing with air compressor. If u can get a shorter hose I’d do that. If not I’d check the voltage requirement on the compressor and see if the compressor isn’t getting enough power to it
You should look into buying some sort of stand alone sturdy screen to keep water and chemicals off of the surrounding vehicles to keep from doing any extra work👍
Make sure you got a big enough compressor to run what your running before you go to a job fire it up let it build up air so when you get there your ready to go . Make sure you drain it out after a couple times .
Bro I have a air compressor from Harbor freight and it does it all the time. There should be a reset button. Unplug everything else from your generator and hit the reset button. The problem is there’s too many things running on your generator and the air compressor is not getting enough voltage to push the piston to get it started. After the piston gets well lubricated and theAir compressor it warms up usually resolves itself
Good evening Hunter check the release valve if it's full of water or if you need oil in it awesome tutorial great job looks great as always be safe God bless William from extreme optimum auto detailing pr
Hunter you probably should fire that guy BUT keep that shit to yourself it’s not for the community to know your business stay humble and keep building your business haters are gonna hate.
This one is from my personal experience But I believe detailing industry pays good but doesn’t give you enough to have someone long time and make them think that’s what they want to do for next 7-10 years Eaither they decide to go on their own or They rather have a job at Walmart just chillin not doing much and not getting beat up in the heat, or they want to make as much as you the business owner. That’s why I’m slowly saying goodbye to detailing myself Working 5:30 am - till mid day And calling it day making $250+ I’m happy working alone But my vision is to have people go around and it’s hard because you’ll always have the people that are just temporarily I’m 20 years old and 3 years in business I’ve had my highs and when I thought I had my business going good and was becoming passive Boooom, losing an employee.
The air compressor is undersized and cycles too often Therefore, it cuts out on high limit/ heat overload. We have this problem, too and the solution is a bigger capacity air tank than the pancake compressors have.
make sure the air compressor cord is directly plug into the generator and if not then generator might not be able to handle all that power. check watts on the air compressor.
Employer is responsible for scheduling and notifying employee when they are supposed to work. If you make employees reach out to you at 7am to see if there is work for the day, you will have higher turn over than you should. Make your schedule, then contact employee when adjustments are needed…These days you pretty much need to coddle your employees in order to keep them. Detailing is tough enough as it is, try to make the employment part structured and easy to follow. We are living during the cancel culture / great resignation, do whatever you can to not give your employees a reason to quit.
It's very difficult hiring friends or family. They may show up in a time of need, but both tend to take advantage or manipulate you and the business when opportunity present itself. Try hiring someone that's willing and able instead of a sometimes / maybe type attitude worker.
I had a compressor and it started acting up like yours. I drained it from the bottom of the tank to release all the build up and its been running fine ever since.
I had a guy that wanted a job so bad, at first I trained him how to do paint corrections, ceramic coatings. Literally after that he would start calling out an I let him go after the 3rd time
You need to drain the air compressor id do it daily at the end of the day. It fills up with water and it will cause rusting and in turn break the compressor.
Only had 1 friend with whom I could work with, unfortunately he went abroad. Both of us could work very well in our own parts of the job and it clicked from day 1. But tbh , this job is one of those jobs you need to do with passion, not for the money it brings. He just has to be honest with you and himself, without hard feelings, but he's probably not passionate enough about this. The moment he just needs the job for the money, he will not show up at a certain point, simple as that.
Your compressor is not rated at a 100% duty cycle i.e. you can't run it constantly. It needs periods of cooldown in between uses to prevent thermal overload. Since you're using high volumes of air, you either need a larger compressor so it doesn't have to cycle as much or buy a more expensive compact compressor with a 100% duty cycle. Also relocate the compressor to a place where it has room to vent heat. Near the roof of the van is probably not a good location especially as the sun is beating on the car more and more as the day goes on.
Bro you NEED that brush from chemical guys to tackle those dog hairs! You brush all the hairs up from the carpet and the vacuum sucks them right in, super fast!!!!! Get you one bro!!!!
Hey Hunter check the Unloader Valve it may get stuck causing it not to restart. After the pressure is down (when you unplug it) is the reason it’ll start when you unplug. Let me know if that makes sense
Never work friends or family. Thats buisness 101. Buisness is life or gutter it's no place to have personal feelings. I found this out the hard way as many have. One in a dozen may work out. But it can also sink you permanently. When you and your wife and kids depend on it it's just not worth that kind of risk. Great job and setup tho man. Wish you all the luck and hope you thrive.
Keep it up man, if they don’t wanna make that money then don’t put up with it. He’s already doing you wrong as a friend making you feel bad about doing what’s best for your company just because he can’t show up and play his part

It seems like your air compressor is drawing a little too much power. I’m assuming you’re using a generator in your vehicle to power it but those big tanks need quite a bit of electricity to fill back up
I have the same air compressor and a similar hose reel/nozzle i got from harbor freight that I use for detailing and mine died yesterday after only 3 months.
Bro make sure that compressor has room to breathe is sounds like it’s over heating! Make sure it’s free of anything and nothing is on it and fresh air is flowing also maybe you have a small tank 1 gallon maybe? I have 2 4 gallon air tanks in my car that for air suspension but I had this problem before because the compressor kept kicking on and over working it so either upgrade the gallons to bigger size or upgrade compressor hope it helps doesn’t sound electrical issues so that’s a good thing
Upselling should never be "as needed" unless it's friends/family discount or something similar. Always look for an opportunity to provide more services; it makes more for you, yeah, but just as much it's that people don't necessarily know what they want or need, and many remember on the spot that they'd rather get that extra coating this time because they're going to the beach this weekend or something like that. There are almost always opportunities to offer something that'd be worth their while, which also ends up making you more.

Use a tarp or runner on the ground beneath those mats when you clean them. Never clean the customer belongings directly on the ground.
Gr8 vid.👌
Just subscribed to your channel. Wishing you lots of success!
Your air compressors probably cooked, mine would do the same thing and it’s because the actual motor gets to hot and triggers the shut off.
Can you make a video on your water tank setup?
Hunter you probably should fire that guy BUT keep that shit to yourself it’s not for the community to know your business stay humble and keep building your business haters are gonna hate.
This one is from my personal experience
But I believe detailing industry pays good but doesn’t give you enough to have someone long time and make them think that’s what they want to do for next 7-10 years
Eaither they decide to go on their own or
They rather have a job at Walmart just chillin not doing much and not getting beat up in the heat, or they want to make as much as you the business owner.
That’s why I’m slowly saying goodbye to detailing myself
Working 5:30 am - till mid day
And calling it day making $250+ I’m happy working alone
But my vision is to have people go around and it’s hard because you’ll always have the people that are just temporarily
I’m 20 years old and 3 years in business
I’ve had my highs and when I thought I had my business going good and was becoming passive
Boooom, losing an employee.
The lack of system and processes hurts most businesses. However, having these in place and refining overtime saves money and time.
The air compressor is undersized and cycles too often Therefore, it cuts out on high limit/ heat overload. We have this problem, too and the solution is a bigger capacity air tank than the pancake compressors have.
Learned my lesson working with friends and family is a no no. If it works out then your lucky.
You should wear a mask when you dusting with air that’s people skin flakes and other things you don’t want to be breathing that in Wayne
Good tip!
Need a bigger compressor, You are hitting the thermal switch because its working to refill the tank constantly. (small tank im guessing)
make sure the air compressor cord is directly plug into the generator and if not then generator might not be able to handle all that power. check watts on the air compressor.
LOL .. love the response at the 6:34 mark .. keep it fellas !
Excellent video Dude , I like the way you Are doing your business I like that , keep it going good bless you
It's very difficult hiring friends or family. They may show up in a time of need, but both tend to take advantage or manipulate you and the business when opportunity present itself. Try hiring someone that's willing and able instead of a sometimes / maybe type attitude worker.
I had a compressor and it started acting up like yours. I drained it from the bottom of the tank to release all the build up and its been running fine ever since.
sameee! it’s a auto shut off when it gets full of water in the air tank . needs to be drained fully
Sounds like you need a bigger compressor with a larger tank and higher SCFM to keep up with your airflow requirements. It's probably over heating.
This is so helpful sir!!! I'm looking to start my detailing business. Thank You
Only had 1 friend with whom I could work with, unfortunately he went abroad.
Great video and the check sheet is definitely a good idea! Working with friends and family is always a tricky situation.
Bro you NEED that brush from chemical guys to tackle those dog hairs! You brush all the hairs up from the carpet and the vacuum sucks them right in, super fast!!!!! Get you one bro!!!!
You need a bigger air compressor likely. It shuts off because it's over used for too long of periods.
We can't detail here in Oklahoma like that. Its illegal to wash the cars outside without having a drain system.
Good stuff Wayne love watching your videos
Hunter make a video on how to start getting clients as a beginner. I started my business here in New York. I’ve made my business cards talked to people I know I’ve done taken care of a few people’s car it lead to other jobs but now I’ve experienced a stop in clients, I’m on social media. What else should I do? Btw I love your videos keep up the grind 💪
If or when I decide to do this detailing shit , I would do it solo dolo ! Would not care if I had one or two or three details a Month ! Would not really give a shit ! But everyone finances are different. Do what you can handle ! Im an Army Veteran with comp and pen ! So , fuck it ! 😂😂Keep doing you Wayne !
He makes more money employing people because he’s able to do
More jobs but I guess it all depends on how much work your have coming in
Air compressors often have this issue! I dont know the fix but i have a couple of them in my work and i almost evrytime run into this problem
Wayne. California quite Air Compressor is the way to go. Have had mine over a year & half. No problems @ all. And I run it of a Predator generator like yours. Hope this helps.

Hey show you crew to clean inside of whell from top to bottom that way your not pulling brake dust up clean it from top to bottom nice videos I hope to get where yall at one day .
Air compressor is probably overheating.. make sure the tank is drained of water and the motor is cool
The problem with your air compressor is that you need to invest in a better one sir !
I did thanks ! Lol
I like how u give up so much game because the stuff u say and do ppl dnt like to share it. God bless you
It seems like your air compressor is drawing a little too much power. I’m assuming you’re using a generator in your vehicle to power it but those big tanks need quite a bit of electricity to fill back up
Hiring friends will always end out bad I’ve employed many just trying to help out their pockets and they make a clown of me every time never again
You told him right. Give him one last chance and then if it happens again don't hesitate.
my left ear enjoyed this video
Trying to put people on ! Good ish !! My brother 😎
This is no joke, I detail my own vehicles . Its hard physical work! Most people cant hang !!!!!
Let's talk about that cam, what you using?
Your production is tight.
You got a leak in the air hose or valves or something try puting that white tape on the parts that connect that seal gaps
Love the videos but Is there a reason why you wipe down the seats before vacuum ? I just always seen it the other way around
