Christine Kobzeff There is a free app called Bunny Free --where you can check to see if a company is cruelty free. Just search for companies by name or scan the product barcode:)
Thank you!!! I've been thinking to go cruelty free for a while but wasn't 100% sure yet, Christine Kobzeff just made that decision for me. I absolutely love her, her channel and her opinions. She is such a huge role model for me and I appreciate everything she does. She is so inspiring, beautiful, talented and educated. Love her. So thank you for the tip!!!
i love your honesty and openness. i started buying cruelty free makeup, skincare, and household products in 2014 but i didn't clear out my existing collection so i still have a mix. i'm not in that place yet... i still love my mac, ysl, and dior products so i don't think i'm ready to let them go but hopefully one day i will get there. either way, this video is very inspiring and i applaud you for trying again! x
miriella that is exactly what i am doing too! :) i've just been buying cruelty-free products and it's been great... i've found so many new favorites. i do want to try to use up some of my older non-cruelty-free products, but once i'm done, i don't plan to buy them again...
I would do that as well...use what I've already purchased that wasn't cruelty free and then never buy it again. The money has already been spent and has gone to that company whether you choose to use it or give it to someone else. What a great stance to take though!!
KelliSoSimple That's my current approach too. I won't buy anymore doubtful products, but there's no point in throwing out the things I already have. That helps no-one and could even contribute a little to the global junk overload! :)
LOVE the direction your channel has taken over the past year or so. :) You are one of the youtubers the has inspired me to move away from typical "beauty channels" thats are focused on hauls and acquiring stuff. I posted my first capsule wardrobe video today, and will be posting more minimalism, and simplifying you life type videos similar to yours. Your "Less stuff, less stress" and decluttering videos were super helpful. I got rid of all the makeup I don't use regularly, and over 150 clothing items. Looking forward to more videos from you Christine! :)
I don't want to cause drama, but I am curious--why would a company choose to test on animals if it's possible not to (as in there are cruelty free companies so it's possible? )
melissa jeanne k that is a good question because I know in the medical field, it would never be considered cruelty free if speaking of not using any animals as our research for medications comes from testing on animals. I love animals myself but I think sometimes the "cruelty-free" only stuff is just as much a fad as a real concern. I would be concerned more if chemicals or products were never tested especially to see if carcinogenic than worrying about whether a mouse has a detrimental effect from testing first. But that's just me.
melissa jeanne k No worries beautiful! That's a valid question for sure. From what I've learned so far, it seems it's only China who is still requiring animal testing for cosmetics. So basically a cosmetics company could be cruelty free, using other testing methods and selling everywhere around the globe... except China. Any cosmetics company who wants to sell their products in China, are still required to test on animals. But hopefully their laws will change one day. xo
Jennifer Ann Fox Hi Jennifer! I totally understand, especially about pharmaceuticals and medications. I think more people are concerned with animals being harmed for non-necessity items, such as makeup. But rather than a passing fad, for the majority of people who choose to support only cruelty free makeup brands/products it's a actual lifestyle change for the longterm. I think the concern is stronger now than ever because more people are becoming aware that cosmetics no longer require animal testing, other testing methods are available. And I mean when you think about it, it IS it rather backwards that we can all wear Urban Decay for years in the USA, but if Urban Decay wants to sell in China, China will require them to end their cruelty free policy and begin testing on animals. It makes no sense. Anyway, I love all of you guys! Have a great night! xo
melissa jeanne k The European courts are moving to ban animal testing within Europe - that also means banning testing on animals with products brought in or taken out of the EU.....it's very complicated lol ...but, at least Europe will be known for cruelty free products. Do the USA still test sunscreen on animals ...I knew they did but, not sure if they still do x
This is THE video that has convinced me to subscribe! The difference in your mindset between this and your past videos is AMAZING! Your decluttering is an inspiration!
Christine, it has been really interesting to watch you change and grow over the last few years. You are one of the reasons I started watching RUclips, (to do with Coconut Oil). Thank you for sharing what you do, I find it very inspirational and admirable following you and Michael. Bless you. xx
My goodness you are an INSPIRATION!!! I've been trying to cut back a lot (and have for the most part), still in the mist of doing a thorough declutter. I must say you look absolutely HAPPY!!! And I'm soooo happy for you!! Once again, this is why you are one of my absolute favourite to watch on youtube! I aspire!
Way to go Christine! Yours is my most favorite You Tube channel to watch. I absolutely LOVE your videos, style, and genuine personality. I have enjoyed watching your lifestyle transformation, from decluttering to DIYs to vlogs, I feel as if I have changed and simplified my life along with you. I began my transition into a Vegan lifestyle in 2013, and know from experience that there can be hesitation about "giving up" certain things. I found it was easy to eliminate some items immediately, but mostly found that as the months ticked by, I would just let things go when it felt right. Some things are keepsakes that we never want to let go, and I think that it is MUCH easier to make changes going forward and then purge old items when the mood strikes us, if ever. However or whatever YOU choose, I'm happy you are happy. Thanks for sharing!
So proud of you! It was your decluttering series that originally inspired me to veganize my makeup stash. You are the real-est on RUclips and I'm so glad you share your journeys with us :-)
Sorry for the double post, I was on the Pacifica website and they ask for people who want to review their products. Why don't you aply to become an ambassador?
Zoe B. At the bottom click "Contact us" and then it says: "Do you have a blog/ vlog and want to feature Pacifica Products? Fill out our sign up form:" Then there's a link: > Sign up to be an ambassador
Christine, what about the point you made in your previous video on "cruelty free" (which I thought was excellent) in which you point out that many these cruelty free brands can essentially piggyback on companies who test on animals in order to pass certain ingredients as safe to use on humans. Then the "cruelty free" brand can use the ingredient and keep the CF label because another company did the necessary dirty work.
I'm thirteen, and as off right now I only have one makeup product and it's an NYC eyeliner. I'm glad that I found out about veganism (I'm not sure if that's what you call it) and that some companies are not cruelty free at a point in my life where I basically don't own makeup. I'm proud of you fod doing this!
Wow, I just watched one of your old videos, and watched this. What a difference!!! Plus, you're still decluttering and paring down your kit. Good job - you are truly inspirational.
What a great video! Thanks a lot☺️ Many vegan people here in Germany keep their old leather stuff and are fine with it, because they already have bought the leather and it doesn't make it better when you throw that stuff in the trash. They just wear it till it's worn off and don't buy new leather. 😊 (Sorry if my english is not the best) And one question Christine, do you have an Instagram account? Greetings from Germany😊
Ansalexandra S. In my opinion, it would be worse to just throw away the stuff. You have the leather, keeping it until it wears out would at least make use of the animal's death.
I started replacing all my beauty, body care, & household products with cruelty free alternatives about a year & a half ago and was shocked when I really started doing research into the companies. Like you, the first time I tried it years ago I just wasn't ready, but this last time around it was much easier. So proud of you for making this step forward and putting more information out there! When one first starts making this change, it's hard, but people like you, who set such a positive example for others, sharing this information will make it easier for others to transition!
Nyx doesn't test on animals. It's so refreshing to see somebody who says, "I want cruelty free makeup, so I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff." So many people say, "I just won't repurchase," which is not quite the same... I don't use any high-end brands, but Hard Candy, Wet n Wild, and Milani also don't test on animals. :)
This is wonderful, and not a surprise coming from someone like you! One of the reasons I love your channel is because you have integrity and always approach your videos with honesty. Do you guys have a Lush on Maui? I feel like you would love a lot of their products. They have a limited amount of actual makeup, but their bath products and perfumes are top notch!
I've been watching your videos for years and I can't believe how far you've come since you've started decluttering! You are a real inspiration Christine! Well done! And thanks for sharing!
I was so inspired by your videos. I got rid of things that I would never have parted with. I feel so much better and on the road to a debt free 2016. I started project 10 pan a few weeks ago and it really made me realize how long it will take me to use my makeup. thank you for making such amazing videos that really make people think about whats important in life.
This is really eye opening and inspiring. I had no idea so many companies were still testing on animals. With all the knowledge and science we have these days it seems really uncalled for. I don't think I have the strength right now that you have to let go of everything right now. I am working on using up a ton of stuff right now so maybe I just won't repurchase items that are tested on animals.
This is a great page that lists whether or not most of the larger beauty companies are cruelty free or not in case anyone was looking for a pretty thorough list. www.paulaschoice.com/beautypedia-product-reviews/animal-testing/
I've been watching your channel for years and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I just love the direction it's going and it has inspired me to declutter so much if my life and I have also tried and loved almost all of your beauty DIYs. I'd love to see more of them!
You are amazing! You have come so far over the last three years. Your life is not only simpler and less cluttered, but even more consciously compassionate than before. You are a true inspiration!
love how you´ve changed over the years. it always makes me feel good to watch your decluttering videos. so much better than all the hauls of other youtubers. also, you look so natural and beautiful!
Christine, I started watching your videos yesterday - starting from 2012 to now. Since the change in your lifestyle, I think not only are you probably spiritually feeling better but you're physically much more beautiful. There are so many cruelty free brands out there, it's easy to go cruelty free. You truly are an inspiration. Thanks so much for these videos.
Hey Christine. I use Logical Harmony (cruelty free and vegan blog) as my primary source of information. They are always current and accurate. Good luck with your journey and thanks for doing this! You have many subscribers and I think you will help a lot of animals. xo
A couple of companies I would like to recommend to you are Silk Naturals and The All Natural Face. They are cruelty free, chemical free, and independent companies owned by women. The best part is they have really great products. Some of my favorites of all time.
I love decluttering videos, and actually just recently watched the series you did back in 2012. You have totally changed! Holy cow! You had so much make up, and now you have come such a long way with both narrowing down and also going cruelty free. Love that you are so considerate and thoughtful, we need more makeup gurus like you :) xx
Wow! I am so...seriously wow'd by what you've decided to do here! I found you a week ago and started watching your videos since the very first one (4 years ago) and been working my way up to the present. I have to say, I wanted to get to know you and what your channel was about and I iust LOVE you and Micheal! I am 43 years young and you, my sweet new friend have changed my views on a lot and I respect you and what you've been through and what you've accomplished in your life. You are a sweet, strong and beautiful young woman and I wish you and Micheal so much success in all you both do. I've been with my hubby for a total of 27 years now and love him to the stars and back. Seeing you and Micheal do things together and supporting eachother reminds me of me and mine ♥♥♥. God Bless and strengthen you both;) Thank you for sharing your life Christine! Hugs from Washington state!
Logical Harmony is a great place to research product. Hourglass, Makeup Geek, 100 Percent Pure, ELF, Wet N Wild are also great cruelty free and have vegan options. It is becoming harder to get cruelty free products without having to order online (vitacost is awesome for that) but like you said there are some awesome indie brands out there making awesome products. I move your reviews, declutters and all your tutorials. Can't wait for some of the indie brands you find.
I've recently decided to buy only cruelty free products as well. I was so nervous because i have a small budget but i was shocked to find that about 80% of my (small, drugstore only) collection was already cruelty free, i was so happy. I'm still trying to decide how i feel about brands that are cruelty free who have parent companies who are not cruelty free (like urban decay, nyx, burts bees, etc.). While i know that the money does travel up the "food chain" to the parent company which does things I don't want to support, it might also send a good message that there is a good market and a good profit in having cruelty free products. It's a complex issue and i'm not sure where i stand on it yet.
I'm so delighted that you decided to go cruelty free! I could never understand how it is possible that poor animals suffer so that we can get perfect smudge proof mascara. "Nonviolence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages." T.Edison
Well said! Well said! " it is a matter of taking the side of the weak against the strong, something the best people have always done"---- Harriet Beecher Stowe When exposing a crime is treated as commiting a crime, you are ruled by criminals!!
I'm so happy that you've decided to go cruelty-free in your makeup collection! It's definitely a step in the right direction! I know you don't have a big makeup collection anymore and aren't interested in having a big collection anymore, or testing a bunch of different products but if you decide you want some drugstore makeup for whatever reason, I would definitely recommend Milani! I know you've mentioned their blushes in the past but they are by far my favorite drugstore makeup company. They have beautiful colors for ALL skin tones; Caucasian, African, Indian, Asian, Native American, you name your skin tone, they'll have a color that suits it. They have beautiful packaging on all their products. All their products are Vegan and certified cruelty free by PETA and the Leaping Bunny Program. They're lipsticks are the best, especially since they came out with their new matte collection, and they have a bunch of fun and more subdued colors. They also have Matte and shimmery face products, which are also really hard to find at the drugstore, and they are just a great company overall that I would highly recommend looking into!
I tried going CF years ago... Gave away all my mac and replaced it with Ud and then they pissed me off and I was stressed, angry, spent too much money trying to rebuild my collection that I stopped caring. The thing is, any moment a company can decide to sell and poof, no longer have their status. I might try again later in life, but I'm content with my collection for now. Good for you Christine!
I am vegetarian, I live for animals, I don't wear leather, i don't have leather furniture. I am now starting my cruelty free makeup collection. I got rid of everything non cruelty free (I gave it to my mother). I got rid of 85 mac lipsticks, 20 mac blushes, 4 mac palettes, l'oreal foundation and mascara, dior, YSL, chanel (my holy grail powder..), bourgois, lancome, ... I kept the balm, urban decay, catrice, essence and charlotte tilbury. THANK YOU CHRISTINE, you were my inspiration to do this!
another great video Christine! you are such an inspiration to me. can you please do a full updated skincare routine and explain why you stopped using the oils? thanks
My makeup is running out slowly and as it does, I am replacing each item with a natural, cruelty free one, why did I not think of that before, it makes such sense! Thanks Christine for making me and lots of others aware of this, now just to convince my daughter!! LOL! Thanks Christine you are awesome! x x x
I love how you didn't just waste or throw your products in the trash. That would be pointless because the animal has already suffered, you don't want to have it suffer just for you to throw the product away. Recycling them is the way to go ♡
Thank you for making this! It is an inspiration and I am currently looking over my own cosmetics to make some changes. Very surprising how many companies are still not cruelty free. There is no need! Thanks again
This was such an eye opener! Thank you for sharing this I had no idea some of these brands weren't cruelty free! I'm glad I never got into the eos trend... I was already in the process of purchasing a lot from tarte and BECCA now I'm even more excited!
Voluminous was my favourite too i started using gifted by tart to replace it and they are so similar! Also thank you for doing this!!! I wish more youtubers would go the cruelty free route too. I went cruelty free a few months ago and I had to unfollow so many people I loved because 50% of all the products they talked about I couldn't use. Your channel is one of my favourites and I am so glad I didn't leave! Thanks again.
I just did the same thing to my makeup! I felt like I needed a change and I wasn't loving any of my old makeup products or skincare anymore. I'm going to be giving my old makeup to a friend. You are such an inspiration. I love your positive attitude and your DIYs are killer :) I'm hoping to get started on your DIY macrame light fixture. I'm a succulent lover as well and Im going to repot some of mine using the mixture you talked about! Any tips for fiddle leaf fig trees?
I've been transitioning to Cruelty Free for a while too. I totally feel you on it taking a while to finally say goodbye to the products that aren't cruelty free that you bought before you transitioned. Now I don't even miss it.
Wow! This is my favorite video of yours! I am emailing it to everyone I know. I am so inspired by this. And I have thought about it and now it's time to do something. You've made it very easy! One thing I wanted to try is composting. I've seen lots of things on Pinterest about it. I trying to reduce trash and clutter. Thanks for your inspiration.
Beautybycassandra To sell in China, you need to have your products tested on animals. It's required. So even if you are cruelty free elsewhere, doing so basically nulls that status.
Emily Guleff I'd rather make up companies test on me than animals ...I've always said it! Why not test on the species that is going to be wearing it???
Feeling quite amazed at your transformation. I loved your older/ obsessed with makeup videos and tutorials, though found them hard to relate to frankly. I live in Maui, too... Your more natural look and this whole de clutter/cruelty free Christine really suits you. So you did gave away some products that I'm still really into, but will think twice before re-buying. Thank God Urban Decay, Tarte, Pacifica and Anastasia brow wiz all made the nice list....ya had me worried when you were tapping the Naked palettes with your finger.... I was like, is she, no she can't, is she gonna, oh thank God she didn't! LOL!
Wow Christine, That's awesome news, good for you! I had an EOS, that I didn't realize wasn't cruelty free, so I just joined you and let it go as well! I have been really enjoying watching how much you've changed and grown lately, you seem so centered and confident these days, its wonderful. Love it. Congratulations! You motivate so many of us! xo
Very cool. If I were you, however, I would have just finished the products. You've already bought them, so the damage is done. You can always vow not to buy the products again, and you can savor however much of that product you have left. :)
Way to go! I desided to go crulty free a few years ago. The first destash was painful, but after that I am suprisesd how easy it has been for me to keep it up. I feel so much better now, and will never go back to buying items tested on or using animal ingrediants
I'm so excited to follow along in your cruelty free decluttering! Also happy to hear Too Faced and Tarte are cruelty free? I'd say my favorite CF makeup is Pacifica right now for eyes, Physicians Formula for skin and ZuZu Luxe for lips, but I haven't tried many other brands. Have you watched any of Cruelty Free Sara 's videos? She's a super sweet girl that recently shared a video on CF hair color. :) xo
It's not about being perfect at your goals, it's the idea that matters. I try to keep my makeup 90% CF and 10% non. I used your makeup inventory idea to keep my makeup collection on track for downsizing and keeping tabs on what is cruelty free or not.
It depends on what your personal goals are. There are a lot of company's that are labelled as cruelty free because they don't test on animals, however they do use animal ingredients in their products. So animals did still suffer and you could absorb them through your skin. However I think that any step in the right direction is better than nothing. I am a cruelty free vegan ..... its so nice to see people try their best x
I started reading about this, it says from 30th of June 2014, animal testing for ordinary cosmetics produced and sold inside China will no longer be legally mandated. Don't know if this means there will be no testing or that they still do. I think its great that you want to go cruelty free, such a motivation! But I'm thinking though, you could just use those products up and then not buy them again. But anyway, great that you're doing this and I have always loved your declutter videos!
Christine, I've always admired you for tons of reasons, but this takes the cake. I am SO proud of your choice to go cruelty-free. I've been CF with my makeup for 3 years now and I haven't looked back since :) welcome to the family! xx
Hi Christine loved this video and how informative it was, So wonderful that people like yourself open the eyes of others that want to make the change, Luckily i dont own much make up but this will be something i will be checking out for the future and making the change when i get over my first hurdle, I am in the process of trying to eat Raw Vegan it all started through health issues and it has certainly made me consider the other issues in the process like the animals involved, Hardest thing to give up is buttered toast & cheese and a few hot dishes like pasta.. i am making the change slowly and wanting to do something is the easiest part in changing yourself. Have added a few products to my shopping list that you have recommended in skincare as thats my next big hurdle, Thank you for all that you do and show us..helping to enlighten just one person is an achievement , Saw you read Rhonda Byrne too..have all her books - inspirational. Have a great week :)
I'm so proud of you for being so earth and animal friendly :) I have started collecting Pacifica products and wow they're perfumes are beyond heavenly!
From what I have researched in the past, there is a sneaky technicality when it comes to "cruelty-free" A company can be labeled as such if their final product is not tested on animals. That means that the development of the chemicals, etc that go into the final product can be tested on animals. I could be wrong on that, but I just wanted to put that out there. I am in 100% support of any movement toward cruelty free and I steer that way myself. Thank you for sharing your process, Christine! :)
The first minute and a half of this video is exactly how I felt when I tried doing this before. Good encouragement to try try again ^_^ Great to see cruelty-free brands hi-lighted regardless of what else people choose to buy. I've really enjoyed watching your journey over the last few years.
I'm a fairly new subscriber but I've been catching up on some of your older videos, and it's been amazing to see your evolution toward this kinder, gentler, and more amazing lifestyle you are embracing. Thanks to your inspiration, all of my skin care products are now natural, organic, in some cases vegan, and cruelty free. Next step is to declutter my own makeup. I admire you so much and look forward to your vegan challenge!
Oh wow thank you so much for doing this ! I have been following you for years and have always wanted to do this.please continue to share the makeup you get.
I love your openness on the subject! You are pretending to be perfect and you are so honest! I've only been a subscriber for a few weeks and I've been binge watching your videos! Love your energy! Much love from Florida xoxo
Hi Christine, I'm so excited that you decided to try buying cruelty free again and i hope it works out this time. dont be discouraged by what other people say, no one is perfect and you don't have to be. You're amazing for being so honest about everything, i think you're off to a great start :) you're one of my favorite people to watch on youtube and I watched you when you didn't buy cruelty free so this is just an added bonus!
I respect this so much! Currently going cruelty-free myself, I opted to use up the 'cruelty' makeup that I have and not purchase anymore since what I have is not a lot and by my reasoning throwing out the stuff I already have does not help the animals. However, I find myself not wanting to use it and I have been throwing it out bit by bit and replacing with not just cruelty-free but vegan and toxin free makeup...well as much as my budget can handle!
So inspiring..I love your honesty regarding how previously you were unable to let go of certain products. How did you work on yourself to get into a place where you were able to detach?? I could really do with that advice! I find it hard letting go of things.
Christine Kobzeff OMG i was so happy to see this video *.* i started watching your declutter videos a few months ago and loved them but watching this one made me so happy
This video has inspired me to go cruelty-free as well. I am a Buddhist and have never looked into this before. Thank you so much Christine. I love your videos so much. You have inspired me in so many ways. I appreciate it so much.
It sounds like you have given this a lot of thoughtful consideration and I think that is very admirable. Thank you for sharing the process with us, I look forward to hearing more about the cruelty free companies you discover!
I can't believe your makeup is down to what it is now! I remember the days when you pretty much bought every new thing to come along! And remember your inventory lists? I agree than not having so much "stuff" reduces stress. You and Michael are good examples of being happy with simpler lifestyles. I'm anxious to see your vegan videos. Don't forget to do the vegetarian ones of what you eat in a week with homemade/easy foods!
Yay! I'm so glad to see you're going cruelty free with your makeup. I've been cruelty free with makeup/skincare/haircare/household items/clothes etc for about a year and a half now and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. It can be hard letting go of brands you've always loved, but I don't see how any makeup is worth animal testing. Hopefully more and more people will start seeing how easy it is to go cruelty free, even if it's just a bit at a time :)
So proud of you! Honestly I don't miss any of the products I gave up. I still have a couple of things I bought before they lost their cf status because they were cf when I got them, but I find that I don't reach for them, so I'll probably get rid of those too. I also love Zoya. The only non cf nail polish I have is an OPI one that has sentimental value (linked to my mom who passed away a few years ago), but that I don't ever use and keep only as a memento. As for my favorite cf brands MUG and Too Faced are definitely the top ones. I also like ABH and Hourglass. I'm exploring Becca and Pacifica, but they're less available. Have fun trying new brands! :)
because you are you, I know you will do whatever is in your beautiful heart. not becausea bunch of people comment n argue over major topic subjects. but because this is how u lay down restfully at night. I'm glad you did this video as there are a couple of companies I thought were cruelty free. like Este lauder. I cried during this video btw. animals are something I'm very passionate about and you made my day!
This came at a perfect time for me! I've been thinking a lot about going cruelty free and trying to make an effort in to going vegetarian and eventually vegan. You've inspired me to no longer purchase any cosmetics that are not cruelty free; however, I'm not strong enough yet to throw/give away the products that are not cruelty free. Once I've used them I'll no longer repurchase them, though. Congrats and thanks for the inspiration!!!
I always love your declutter videos. I've been considering going CF recently as well, but thought that it would be too hard to get rid of all my existing non-CF products but this video was very inspiring, and i think ill try to go through with it and see if Im able to as well :)
Christine,So wonderful I did the same thing I was able to get rid of some but talked myself into keeping things i was simply attached to now I have done the same and adore it and dont have reaction to my makeup bc the products are natural as well. So happy to hear from you and see some of the brands you chose Pacifica and Becca are wonderful & cannot wait to see your updates!!
So glad I found this. I also decided to start buying cruelty free makeup a few years ago. It meant I had to give up my holy grail mascara and find a new one, but i did. I have no idea how I'd ever be able ro go cruelty free with everything in my life though. That part feels horribly overwhelming.
I appreciate this video so much! It's so nice to find a bigger youtuber going cruelty free as basically all of the big channels on here just completely ignore the subject 💟
I am so proud of you! Going cruelty free was one of the best decisions I ever made and I'm so happy you are beginning your journey as well. Xo love leti has some great cruelty free videos you might want to check out. And if you want a list of products that are cruelty free, check out logical harmony! I wish you the best in going cruelty free!
Wow, what a big difference from your makeup inventory from 2012. Glad you are enjoying the makeup you have now. Consider a makeup inventory numbers comparison vid from then and now.
Good for you! I decided to stop eating animals several years ago for personal reasons, and I feel that using products from companies that test on animals is just as diabolical. With the change of my lifestyle, I had to choose to be rational so, like you mentioned, I didn't toss things like my designer leather hand bags, boots, bracelets, etc. in the trash, but this is something easy that I need to do as well with my makeup collection. Great video! : )
Dear Christine, you are such an inspiration. It amazes me how far you've come in your life. I feel somehow kindred to you even though we've never met or anything. I think you should be really proud of yourself for letting go of all those products, I definitely still have attachments to a lot of my makeup. Thank you for all your positive vibes and videos :)
I was SOOOO happy to see the title of this video :-). Way to go Christine. Glad you've made the China connection. I've been buying cruelty free makeup and skin/hair care for a few years now. In this day and age I don't believe any further testing on animals need to occur.
I know I mentioned it in your other video, and I'm really excited to see you going cruelty-free. I think it is pretty much impossible to go completely cruelty-free. Things change way too often, and conflicting information is all over the place. Making the attempt is awesome, and I'm really impressed with your knowledge starting out! NYX is owned by a parent company that tests (L'Oreal I think), but they themselves are cruelty-free. Watch out with Too Faced. The news broke yesterday that they might be sold to Estee Lauder. :-(
I find this so inspiring!! I'm not at a place where I'd be able to get rid of my protects that aren't cruelty free yet, but I definitely will not buy from companies that aren't cruelty free anymore! There's really no need when there are so many great products put out there by cruelty free companies.
Christine Kobzeff There is a free app called Bunny Free --where you can check to see if a company is cruelty free. Just search for companies by name or scan the product barcode:)
Melody Champion Thank you! I couldn't remember the name of the website!
This is great thanks for the info :)
Thanks for the information!!
Thank you for the app! Im so happy i can choose my brands wisely now!
i love your honesty and openness. i started buying cruelty free makeup, skincare, and household products in 2014 but i didn't clear out my existing collection so i still have a mix. i'm not in that place yet... i still love my mac, ysl, and dior products so i don't think i'm ready to let them go but hopefully one day i will get there. either way, this video is very inspiring and i applaud you for trying again! x
miriella that is exactly what i am doing too!
Jennifer Ann Fox
melissa jeanne k No worries beautiful!
If China changed their laws, so many brands would start to go cruelty free by default I would suspect
Why don't you aply to become an ambassador?
shoppingfiesta Where does it say that on the website?
Zoe B. At the bottom click "Contact us" and then it says: "Do you have a blog/ vlog and want to feature Pacifica Products? Fill out our sign up form:" Then there's a link: > Sign up to be an ambassador
You are so inspiring. I love the evolution of your channel.
Thanks a lot☺️
Many vegan people here in Germany keep their old leather stuff and are fine with it, because they already have bought the leather and it doesn't make it better when you throw that stuff in the trash. They just wear it till it's worn off and don't buy new leather. 😊
(Sorry if my english is not the best)
And one question Christine, do you have an Instagram account?
Greetings from Germany😊
Ansalexandra S. In my opinion, it would be worse to just throw away the stuff. You have the leather, keeping it until it wears out would at least make use of the animal's death.
Thanks! That's a great idea! Recycling vs. using new products! Thank you.
Your decluttering videos are my absolute favourite videos! You seem so down to earth and sweet! Love the way your channel is going :)
LOL! Thanks Christine you are awesome! x x x
Love your declutter videos!! It's proof that you don't really need a lot of makeup!
Congratulations on going cruelty free!!! Wish more people caught on.
Just curious, what does selling in China have to do with cruelty free
They require animal testing on products before it is sold :(
Beautybycassandra To sell in China, you need to have your products tested on animals. It's required. So even if you are cruelty free elsewhere, doing so basically nulls that status.
What Emily Loves I was told they changed that law or were in the process of changing it
Emily Guleff I'd rather make up companies test on me than animals ...I've always said it! Why not test on the species that is going to be wearing it???
Nerdy Unicorn They are, but the changes don't apply to imported cosmetics or personal care items.
You motivate so many of us! xo
Yay, I'm happy to see you going this route :)
But anyway, great that you're doing this and I have always loved your declutter videos!
i just LOVE your declutter videos! i feel like you do the best ones on youtube
I've been waitin for you to go CF! :) Yay. And yay for you trying to do the vegan challenge. Im so excited!
I'm so proud of you for being so earth and animal friendly :) I have started collecting Pacifica products and wow they're perfumes are beyond heavenly!
I love your makeup drawer. I know you made it yourself and it's gorgeous.
Congratulations! Looking forward to more of your videos concerning cruelty free products.
I can't wait to see your Pacifica order! I've gone natural with my makeup/ skincare/ body care / hair care. You did so good de cluttering!
Your videos are so refreshing! I am so happy you upload frequently! I look forward to your videos! You give me so much inspiration!
I am beyond happy you decided to give these items up!!
Love how everything is so pretty & organized ❤️
I am so proud of you! Going cruelty free was one of the best decisions I ever made and I'm so happy you are beginning your journey as well. Xo love leti has some great cruelty free videos you might want to check out. And if you want a list of products that are cruelty free, check out logical harmony! I wish you the best in going cruelty free!
This was so inspirational! I think I need to stop using Revlon foundation. Side note- PLEASE do a gardening video!!!
Wow, what a big difference from your makeup inventory from 2012. Glad you are enjoying the makeup you have now. Consider a makeup inventory numbers comparison vid from then and now.
It is amazing to see how much you have growen since your first declutter videos :)
im very inspired by you, you are a beautiful soul
I love watching her declutter videos
You should do an updated makeup collection now. :) Love your videos and seeing the positive changes you are making!
