I really appreciate how logical you are. You're not gonna waste the mascara but stick to your new way by not buying them again. I really wish I could go cruelty free, much respect!❤️
This means so much to me. Thank you very much! For me a change like this needed to be more cold turkey overall but I know a lot of people who do it in baby steps too :) Have a great day!!!
The most accurate page to go by is logicalharmony. She is fantastic! She is the investigator of makeup! And updates her site all the time. Most of the other pages arent updated regularly. Congrats on your decision to go CF!:)
Also Lorac is kind of grey area. They claim to be cf and they may be but they won't confirm that their ingredient providers don't test so it's tricky to know for sure. So exciting to be on the cf journey! Some great brands to try are ULTA, Sonia Kashuk, pixi, Milani, Jordana, Flower Beauty, Physicians Formula, Pacifica, Josie Maran, too faced, hourglass, cover fx, Becca, Zoya, Orly, color pop, makeup geek, the Balm, and if you don't mind parent companies there's Tarte, Nars, buxom, bare minerals and a ton more. My absolute favorite resource is Logical Harmony. Her lists are so thorough and reliable. It's basically my go to. Welcome to CF beauty. It's a great community! You're going to love it!
+HeidiKMakeup I'll definitely keep that in mind for Lorac. I checked crueltyfreekitty for them and it said they talked to Lorac who said they are. They aren't certified by Peta, but as far as I can tell they are? Hopefully :) I love logical harmony too! They're amazing :) Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I really appreciate it :)
I just had this discussion with a few girls on my channel. The statement Lorac provided me, same one as on cruelty free kitty, stated that they require their suppliers to commit to no animal testing. And sign a statement saying so. Their statement eased my mind about supporting them. :)

I'm so happy that you decided to do this! My channel's devoted to cruelty-free beauty too and I always get so excited when I see other people doing the same. I feel like the cruelty-free community is pretty small on RUclips so it makes me happy when I come across another person who does it :)
This is so awesome and inspiring! I just discovered your channel via a cruelty free search... I am starting to make the transition as well! This video is very informative and encouraging! Great job!!!
Really enjoyed this. I have also gone cruelty free, but have to declutter out my non-cruelty free stuff. This was very inspiring. I see someone already told you about Logical Harmony- excellent site
Love that you are now using cruelty-free makeup ❤️ Awesome video and keep them coming xoxo again thanks for checking out my channel! appreciate it a lot!
i agree with this video so much! i do not think it's a good idea to not buy a brand just because their parent company isn't cruelty free. if we stop supporting brands like urban decay and nyx, they will become harder to find and more people will buy brands such as makeup forever and stila that are not cruelty free but more available.
Congratulations beautiful girl! I'm so happy you're taking this route and really proud of the job you did in this video. If you are looking for a great resource I totally recommend Logical Harmony - it's a blog with the most comprehensive and up-to-date list of cruelty free and vegan make up. Good luck hun!
Just an FYI products made in china can still be cruelty free, many brands like too faced and Anastasia beverly hills are made there but are NOT sold there. Products sold in china must go under animal testing. And if you haven't tried colourpop they're an amazing LA based, cruelty free brand. So cheap and they have a HUGE range of colors in all their products. Lets save these poor baby animals 🐰🐭🐷
+Liz Pena Thank you very much! :) I'm definitely still learning - there's so much to learn about staying cruelty free. Thank you for your support - definitely save the baby animals! :)
After watching your video, I am going to go cruelty free with my makeup! Going to have to declutter after I get some cruelty free things like mostly mascara! Its the new year and I wanna start off right!
Thank you for this video! I am also going cruelty free and will only be buying products that are cruelty free! Although I have been using Kat Von D and Too Faced mostly, I thought Benefit was cruelty free because when I purchased a bunch of makeup from them the girl who I talked to at the counter said they DO NOT test on animals, but they do! So no longer will be buying from Benefit! I will still be using NYX & Urban Decay as well:)
Profusion is actually cruelty free! :) They are PETA certified- at least when I checked in December. Also, to my knowledge, Lorac does sell in China... :/
+Amusings and Beauty Thanks for the heads up on Profusion! :) This is where I checked for Lorac : www.crueltyfreekitty.com/does-lorac-test-on-animals/ According to their customer service they don't sell in China. At least I hope not :)
Hey girl, definitely not a hater, just randomly stumbled upon yr video so... I personally would (mostly) not choose cruelty free products coz I cannot be sure otherwise if the products are safe to use at all However, I take a totally different approach: I have a “collection” even smaller than most minimalists on RUclips. I do this by asking myself each time: is this product PERFECT for me? With this question, I choose only 1 foundation, 1 concealer (I don’t even have a concealer actually), 1 eyeliner etc… and would be able to use it up completely So, I basically do tonnes of research whenever I need to shop, give myself enough time, and get ONE item at the end. As one learns their own shopping habits, it should be easy(ier) as the day goes on to choose the perfect items. This is at least really useful to me ^^
shannon bedding It can be hard to find dupes unfortunately. It took me a year to find two CF mascaras I love. The Maybelline lash stiletto used to be my favorite. Now I love the Wet n Wild Max Volume and the Balm Mad Lash. I hope you find one you love Shannon!
I've been transitioning to cruelty-free as well! The best website to tell which products are cruelty-free is www.logicalharmony.net! Instead of just tossing everything (like I wish I could do lol!) I am doing project pans to use everything up that isn't cruelty-free. Thank you for sharing your journey! :)
+azkaland That's a great idea! :) I"m planning on using up my skincare and nail polish before switching over. I donated almost all of my non cruelty free products to a nearby women's shelter. Congratulations on your transition! :) Logical Harmony is awesome!
+Elena Papastefan Oh no! :( Which product did I have by them? I know i had the Soft Lips Chapstick, which I looked up and it seemed to be cruelty free. Was that the product you were referring to or was it something else?
Just the company period. Soft Lips I don't think is owned by Chapstick anymore. When I checked PETA's site, they weren't listed. However, Vaseline tests on Animals. The best balms to get are the ones you find at Whole Foods.
According to Logical harmony Lorac is in the grey area as they claim to be cruelty free but don't provide information on ingredients and the source 😊👍🏻 well done tho go you!!
+Princess Luciaa I gave all the products away to a women's shelter :) They won't go to waste! I'm using up other products, like skincare and bathcare, that aren't cruelty free before replacing them too! I definitely don't want to be wasteful.
+casi capa22 (casicapa22) Oh no! I totally thought it was Wet n Wild, good catch! I'm tossing it now - it's older and not what I want! Thank you for pointing that out :)
Wet n wild is made in china (just as an example). They do not sell in China though. :) So just because it says made in china, dosen't mean it's tested on animals!
+yasmeanfs saleh I actually donated all of this to a local women's shelter in my area :) The organization helps women to get back on their feet and secure interviews. Makeup is something many of them lack and it certainly helps the women to feel more confident as a whole!
Hey :) Glad to see someone else is going Cruelty Free. I did a couple of months ago. As for the lip lacquer alternatives, I HIGHLY recommend Makeup Revolution. There are companies made in China that don't sell in China so they are cruelty free(like elf). As far as I know Profusion is not cf but just thought you should know.
+Harlee Rowland Someone else actually pointed that out to me too! :) I already tossed it since it was an older product. Thanks for the head ups though - I thought it was wet n wild whoops!
I'm not cruelty free but did some research. Companies are legaly obliged to test new ingredients on animals. So what does this mean? Basically crueltyfree brands are only using ingredients in their products that have been tested by other companies before. That's how bodyshop which is part of the loreal company or other crueltyfree subcompanies can even exist. So if a product clames to be cruelty free it just means that the final product has not been tested on animals, all the ingredients were tested on animals at some point.
I'm no expert, but I believe that cosmetics can be sold in the United States without testing done currently (www.humanesociety.org/issues/cosmetic_testing/qa/questions_answers.html?referrer=www.google.com/). I've read that companies still use animal testing because they are selling in countries (Like China) that require it or it can be more inexpensive to do. If it's only sold in the US, animal testing is not mandatory. At some point or another most ingredients have been tested, but cruelty free companies are not continuing this process which is important to me :)
I live in Europe. I can only tell the way it's over here. If a company wants to keep developing new ingredients they must test on animals. So either they keep using only existing ingredients or they test.
+Cassidy Novotny You're right! :) I had a few other people point that out to me and I donated it too. Totally thought it was wet n wild, my bad :) Thanks for the comment!
When you purchase products that are cruelty-free versus the non-cruelty free, the parent company will see the bias, and be swayed to stop testing on animals.
Is there anyway you would send me some of your decluttered eyeshadow palettes!! I love all the palettes you gave away and do not own any of those!! Thank you!!
+cesar garcia I've been hearing that too unfortunately, but so far the websites I've checked still say they are cruelty free. I can't find anything solid to believe otherwise. It's hard to tell with some companies unfortunately.
I am confused, i know people want to go cruelty free. but how is getting rid of makeup that you already gave money to the companys for worth it. i would just use what i spent the money on and just never buy anything from those brands again. i mean you already gave them your money why not use your moneys worth instead of going and wasting it again by giving it away.....
+Danielle Erickson I definitely understand where you're coming from! :) Personally, I'm a very all or nothing person, so being able to fully go cruelty free like this really helped me out when making this decision. I also love talking about makeup on my channel and don't want to talk about or represent products I don't believe in so that was another consideration of mine. Besides the very used up products, everything else was donated to a local women's shelter where they give makeup to women trying to get back on their feet and interview for jobs. A lot of makeup, like eyeshadow, would take a long time to go through, so donating it to a good cause was the option I liked best. For my skincare, I am currently using it up and then buying different brands :) Sorry for the super long reply! I definitely understand where you're coming from and hope all of what I said made sense :) It's definitely a very personal decision however you do it :)
+Jess Wills actually, they test if it's required by law. plus, i believe some of their ingredients are tested on animals, but aren't directly tested by benefit. so if you're going full on cruelty free, watch out for the way the brands word it, they try to trick you :)
How the hell could you test makeup on an animal. I never actually got this but how can you test these products on animals. Do you just take a dog and put lipstick on it i really don't get it.
Unfortunately it's much worse than that. A lot of times they put the product into the animal's eyes or worse. I don't want to get too graphic, but it's bad :(
Look on websites like Animal aid and PETA, or youtube and watch the videos on how animal testing is done. Please be warned, if you are a sensitive person and love animals, what you witness is very disturbing and very upsetting, so please be prepared!!!!!
+MADDIE Ramirez I haven't heard that. I know their parent company is Loreal and they test on animals, but to the best of my knowledge I don't believe they do as an individual company. This is what I found on their website, which also assured me : www.thebodyshop-usa.com/values/AgainstAnimalTesting.aspx :)
I really appreciate how logical you are. You're not gonna waste the mascara but stick to your new way by not buying them again. I really wish I could go cruelty free, much respect!❤️

+MissAmyxo no problem I've made my video it's going up Sunday x
Oh man your whole foundation and concealer drawer! Good thing you got replacements before you purged. Can't wait to see the haul!
+Robbie Dollie It really got wrecked :) The haul will be up tomorrow at latest. Thank you so much for your support!
We love this video! Great to see an artist transitioning to cruelty free 💕👍 Good on you! We're all about that 🐰💕
Feels great to declutter, especially to become cruelty-free! Happy to have found ya :)

I'm pretty sure makeup can be made in China and be cruelty free just not sold in China

you're welcome! there are tons of amazing brands out there, i just hope companies that do test decide to change their ways soon
I'm not too sure if it's a dupe for the Rimmel but try out the Tarte Tarteist lip paints, they're incredible!❤️
Thank you!!! :)
milani is a cruelty free brand too! & i have heard good reviews about them, especially their matte lipsticks..
+HeyitsRebecca __ I've been dying to try them out! I have trouble finding them at my local drugstores. Where do you typically buy Milani? :)
it's hard to find milani but in California they have them at Walgreens and cvs pharmacy
+MissAmyxo Target has them. I LOVE there blushes.
After watching your video, I am going to go cruelty free with my makeup! Going to have to declutter after I get some cruelty free things like mostly mascara! Its the new year and I wanna start off right!
That's amazing!!! Good luck! You won't regret it - it was such a great choice for me last year. I always end up with too many mascaras myself.
Thank you for this video! I am also going cruelty free and will only be buying products that are cruelty free! for a cruelty free world

I need to try ColorPop so much! Thank you for your comment :)

If you're looking for good eye shadow pots that are cruelty free and cheap, look on Etsy. There's a bunch of sellers who have really good products.
Such a hard thing to do! Good for you!
+Jennifer Witherspoon Thank you, you're very kind :) I definitely miss some of it, but I'm really excited for the new direction!
+MissAmyxo Yeah it's a great reason to try new stuff :)
You got rid of so much well done!
+Marina Petrou Thank you very much! :)
Hi Miss Amy. It's great that you're doing this. I'm sorry to say, Chapstick tests on animals.

According to Logical harmony Lorac is in the grey area as they claim to be cruelty free but don't provide information on ingredients and the source 😊👍🏻 well done tho go you!!
do you do give aways??
just found your chanel, love it!
It makes me sad that you have to get rid of all those amazing products.
+Princess Luciaa I gave all the products away to a women's shelter :) They won't go to waste! I'm using up other products, like skincare and bathcare, that aren't cruelty free before replacing them too! I definitely don't want to be wasteful.
+MissAmyxo thats is a great thing to do! i love your channel. im a new sub.
don't know if you noticed but the wetslicks lip gloss was covergirl
+casi capa22 (casicapa22) Oh no! I totally thought it was Wet n Wild, good catch! I'm tossing it now - it's older and not what I want! Thank you for pointing that out :)
Wet n wild is made in china (just as an example). They do not sell in China though. :) So just because it says made in china, dosen't mean it's tested on animals!
+awesomecurlyone Thank you for the headups! :)
Is'nt there a lot of bacteria on lipstick too?
+awesomecurlyone I sanitized the tops off all of them before donating :)
will this be donated to subscribers
+yasmeanfs saleh I actually donated all of this to a local women's shelter in my area :) The organization helps women to get back on their feet and secure interviews. Makeup is something many of them lack and it certainly helps the women to feel more confident as a whole!
great video :)
The elf extra lipglosses are very pigmented abd glossy, and only $2 (:
Sounds super great! :) Will have to check those out, thank you!
Subscribed 🌸❤️🦄
Hey :) Glad to see someone else is going Cruelty Free. I did a couple of months ago. As for the lip lacquer alternatives, I HIGHLY recommend Makeup Revolution.
You can buy their products at most Ulta stores and they have a US Website: www.makeuprevolutionusa.com/
But their entire range is on their worldwide site: makeuprevolutionstore.com (I think postage is around $5 for the US)
They have a lot of alternatives/dupes for high end products too and the quality is great, although their foundations and concealers can be a bit of a miss!
If you want any recommendations or anything just ask! :)
+Alex I just checked their website and they looked amazing! Thank you so much for the recommendation. I will be sure to ask! This is very helpful :)
You're welcome :3 Glad I could help
There are companies made in China that don't sell in China so they are cruelty free(like elf). As far as I know Profusion is not cf but just thought you should know.
+HeidiKMakeup Oh perfect! Thank you so much :) I still have the two bags to donate tomorrow, so I'll pull that one out.
Just subs. Your cruelty free 😍. Thanks
Thank you so much Karine!!!
Don't know if anyone has said this but Rimmel London is cruelty free.
+Stacy Schwarzott I haven't heard that! Where did you see that? :)
+MissAmyxo us.rimmellondon.com/products/all?cid=usa_search_bing_rimmel%20london_exact
I'm afraid you thought that a covergirl gloss was by wet n wild and you kept it :/ Just a heads up in case you didn't notice!
+Harlee Rowland Someone else actually pointed that out to me too! :) I already tossed it since it was an older product. Thanks for the head ups though - I thought it was wet n wild whoops!

+cesar garcia I totally agree with you on that :) that's why I still buy Nyx and other brands with a parent company that tests.
Is there anyway you would send me some of your decluttered eyeshadow palettes!! I love all the palettes you gave away and do not own any of those!! Thank you!!
+Madeleine Crow or any products you would like to donate!!
I think benefit stopped testing on animals. 🌸
+Abbie Morley Did not happen.
+Abbie Morley they didn't
They didn't
Also, Benefit has disclaimers that they have cancer-causing chemicals in their products.
NYX is owned by Lo'real, so it's not cruelty free! D:
The brand Nya itself is cruelty free, just its parent company isnt
I know, which is really sad, but the money is still going to a company that tests.
Actually Profusion is cruelty free. They are made in china but do not sell to china.
Thank you for the information! :)
you kept a cover girl lip gloss ..
I got rid of it after someone pointed it out :) I thought it was wet n wild whoops!
I believe the Body shop is no longer cruelty free
+cesar garcia I've been hearing that too unfortunately, but so far the websites I've checked still say they are cruelty free. I can't find anything solid to believe otherwise. It's hard to tell with some companies unfortunately.

rimmel is cruelty free
aine mc No sorry you are wrong, they do have tests done for them.
Btw the body shop isn't cruelty free
Benefit doesn't test on animals xx
benefit actually does test on animals
+lilinotlilly They don't
+lilinotlilly they don't xx I searched xx
+Jess Wills actually, they test if it's required by law. plus, i believe some of their ingredients are tested on animals, but aren't directly tested by benefit. so if you're going full on cruelty free, watch out for the way the brands word it, they try to trick you :)

How the hell could you test makeup on an animal. I never actually got this but how can you test these products on animals. Do you just take a dog and put lipstick on it i really don't get it.
Unfortunately it's much worse than that. A lot of times they put the product into the animal's eyes or worse. I don't want to get too graphic, but it's bad :(
+MissAmyxo I don't see why this is needed.
Мария Д. I don't either, which is why I'm transitioning to stop supporting that :)
Look on websites like Animal aid and PETA, or youtube and watch the videos on how animal testing is done. Please be warned, if you are a sensitive person and love animals, what you witness is very disturbing and very upsetting, so please be prepared!!!!!
Sorry have replied to the wrong person!
body shop is not cruelty free
+MADDIE Ramirez I haven't heard that. I know their parent company is Loreal and they test on animals, but to the best of my knowledge I don't believe they do as an individual company. This is what I found on their website, which also assured me : www.thebodyshop-usa.com/values/AgainstAnimalTesting.aspx :)
