I admit, every time I hear a reactor say they don't care for a song they're about to react to PTX covering, I gigglesnort because I know what's coming :)
Mitch sounded like he was auto tuned. He's so good at mimicking techno sounds. I love this version of the song. Breathes new life into it! Thank you for the reaction.
I'd love to know how he did it because if that's not genuine autotune (which wouldn't matter to me because I'm not stringent *looking at you "eWw PiAnO!" people*), that is the first time I have been fooled into believing there's "instruments" involved.
I definitely understood what you were saying before the viewing of the song! I hated 12 days of Christmas because it went on and on and on! With Pentatonix preforming it it’s “Oh darn! It’s over already”? Leave it to Pentatonix! Gotta love them and I do! Thanks for your review!
Yep, the Pentatonix magic works again. I could listen to Mitch's section on a loop for hours :-) They also put their own spin on Oh Come All Ye Faithful, definitely worth checking out. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is simply amazing. I only discovered PTX a few months ago and I'm enjoying sharing your journey down the rabbit hole.
1st of all....Christmas is my all time fave time of the year too! Now that being said, Mitch cracked me up on the 8th day and Scott took me out on the 12th! I came up out of my seat on that one! And I am like most Pentaholics and love anytime we're able to hear Kevin sing.
Great reaction. I happen to love this song and PTX just made it that much better. I don't know if you have reacted to "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" yet or not. If you haven't, you need to. You will enjoy that one and they did win a Grammy for it.
I love how the second part of the track reflected what genre of music they are most interested in....so clever with their attention to detail. Mitch is very much into EDM - Scott of course is Jazz/blues/crooner... KO is classical/church choral.... Kirstie is pop/dance...Matt plays drums...so of course KO is going to turn it into a 'band drumming masterclass'.... Loved spending another reaction with you - glad , as always that PTX managed to change your mind a little on not liking an otherwise boring song into something different and catchy !! X
@@rocksolidreactions3901 Oh heck that would be something...apparently the Aussie accent is a tad difficult for some people to understand so I'd probably need subtitles hahaha... I'm also nowhere near patient enough... and I talk way too much hey Sean ????? ...but cheers !🙄🐨
What a fun arrangement of this song! You may want to check out another a capella group called Straight No Chaser. Their version is definitely not what anyone expects, haha.
Like you, this is one Christmas song I didn't like, this and Oh Christmas Tree. But then I heard PTX's version and after I picked up my jaw from the floor, I couldn't stop listening to it!! PTX MAGIC!!
You 'this isn't my favourite song Me 'ha ha ha..... this is PTX hold on to yer socks - great reaction, thank you - jealous of the snow, live in Yorkshire UK but none here yet :(
Another spot on reaction!! When you said this is not one of your favorite holiday song, I LOL'd and thought, 'just you wait Henry Higgins'! 😊 I like you, loved the style changes, and really got into the new harmony combinations between the members. Thanks again for another enjoyable reaction! Oh, and I am a Michigan fan as well, but feel I may have to come up there and kick some keisters to get them to play better!!
Yep, I feel the same as you do about The Twelve Days of Christmas (not least because I don't believe the original 'singer' did not look at their True Love at some point even BEFORE the seventh day and said "And where, exactly, am I supposed to PUT all this crap?") But again, Pentatonix managed to make it fun and cute all over again.
LOL. Was this anyone's favorite Christmas song? That said, "Little Drummer Boy"...SAME! Their version is a must-see if you haven't already. Trust us! And while you're at it, their Grammy-worthy "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy."
Love their version of that song! Funny enough I have never heard of that song before! Only when I checked the originals once the tracklist of their album was released. Can you please react to their version of the Grinch song?
As fun as this is, my all-time favorite, “must watch” version is by Straight No Chaser. They first performed it back in 1998, but there are various versions floating around the internet. I highly recommend it. Also, their Christmas Can-Can. 😂 💃🏻
I don't know of ANYONE who considers 12 Days of Christmas to be one of their favorite Christmas songs..."boring and repetitive" is the description I usually hear...but then along came Pentatonix...'nuff said!!
Got something for ya. I've never been fond of this song either. But this link will take us way back, beyond the current Matt PTX, back even before Avi PTX. Before Avi was snagged from college to join PTX for The Sing Off, he was a member of a few of his college's musical groups, including Chamber Choir. But he was also a member of Fermata Nowhere, the college's award-winning comedic (but also serious at times) male choral group. Their "12 Days of Christmas" was their most famous performance, and you'll see why. Watch for Avi right behind the guy who's talking, with longish hair and just a whisper of a beard (I mean, geez, he was only 19 at that time!). It gets pretty darn funny as you get into it, but always with excellent vocals quality. Keep an eye on young Avi, as he as some funny parts. It's a kick. ruclips.net/video/hPEUi8eXEEg/видео.html
Lol, you are too kind Starcontinuum, I have heard that before. I have always thought it would be fun to do that someday! Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
So do you like Scott Sinatra doing the 12th day or EDMitch doing the 8th? Good reaction, and see you soon, so many Christmas songs by PTX and so little time, you might have to do 3 a day to get them in!
Yah, this is about my least favorite Christmas carol, kind of one long shaggy dog story but they manage to make it tolerable. Have to go back and listen to White Winter Hymnal and Oh Come, All Ye Faithful again...
I've said it before, I'll say it again, if there's a song out there that people aren't crazy about, let PTX get their hands on it, and almost everyone will love it. Have you reacted to the grinch song yet?
@@rocksolidreactions3901 I just ask for you to watch for the little Mitch moments. There are 2, and most reactors miss one or the other, and then they don't back up the video after they pause. And the reason they missed the moment is because of pausing right at the moment.

I could've listened to EDM Mitch for the whole song!! That was my favorite, followed by Scott's Rat Pack vibe 😀
Haha, I agree Auntie Angie, it was marvelous!
I really want a separate song in JUST that style. I was never really a Mitch fan but autouned-ish? SIGN ME UP!
"I don't like this song."
Pentatonix: Hold my eggnog...
Pretty much Chri Ve, eggnog sounds so good, lol, thanks for putting THAT in my mind. 😉 Thanks for watching!
Better yet, let me hold your eggnog and add some bourbon to it! lol
This is the best version of this song EVER. I loved how they stepped through all of the genres, and you can tell they can definitely do this live.
PTX transformed this boring Christmas song into a fun and exciting sing-along. Thanx for your fun reaction,,
True. The original is one of the worst Christmas songs ever. It took hella talent to make it interesting, which this definitely is.
You mean it wasn't always like this? 😜
