Yes, I just can't believe that this day there are still people think that drummers are doing nothing but to fill the beats and keeping the tempo, I've had this local musician that keeps saying "drummer is not important, you can always substitute them with organ, or it's simple because it doesn't have chords". I simply said "you don't listen enough music to claim that, and you're not real musician".
@@randy12ism That guy probably was fortunate enough to have always played with good drummers. So good, they're "just there" and play the rhythms and songs and don't fly all over the place with tempo. Had he played with a few crap drummers, he'd be thanking his great drummers. :)

With good technique oddly enough you tend to relax more as you go faster. Still an insane amount of endurance required though.

ofcourse eugene just learned heel-toe and mastered it to 280 bpm. this guy is insane haha
If he really learned it from scratch for this song that is very impressive :O
I guess he has been working on it since he knew he would play with fleshgod. I dont think 280 bpm is suistainable over a liveshow with singles only. If they choose to play multiple fast songs in the set it may just be more comfortable using heel-toe.

I'm not very familiar with Fleshgod's members. How many drummers do they have? I thought it was Francesco Paoli, who's Eugene?
@@LaguBudakKuching Francesco became the drummer soon after their first album I believe? I'm not 100% sure.
Francesco now does guitars and vocals, Eugene officially joined the band as the drummer around two days ago.

it's kind of funny to imagine the Veleno Quartet doing this song with you on tour, just being there for those 2 bars of dissonant off-kilter strings right at the beginning. And just waiting patiently for the rest of the song.

When it comes to technical ability, Eugene has it all. Heel toe, swivel foot technique , and single stroke blast beats are just the tip of the ice berg and holy shit what a beautiful bomb blast !

After watching some of his other videos, I think it is body position, he's up close and upright, so he's not having to flail shoulders, biceps, elbows everywhere to hit everything.
Compact, tight, precise,,, like like Fleshgod songs, he's a perfect match for this band...
How effortlessly he flows into the different bpm's and beat changes, I could rewatch this 100 times and still get impressed every time.
I hope everyone here understands the complexity of the foot work this guy does and appreciates it! Holy fuck! #runmiles

That transition from swivel to heel-toe is so underrated.
This is insanely good. Usually double strokes sound bad on kicks but you sir play them properly. Yes there is a trigger on the kick, but at this bpm I'd never call that cheating. Incredible.
