"Hardly any gear on me". 😂😅 Love it. As a fly fisherman that's a lorry load for me. Great work.
Ahhh but this is 'proper fishing' not fluff flinging, ha ha! 😂😅 Anything that involves a seat and men generally involves dreaming up ways of cramming in as much as possible inside the seat, turning it into an oil rig and attaching things to it. Take the seatbox away and its suddenly a lot more minimal!
Hi. Must say I really really enjoyed this video. Good to see something like a natural venue and a guy working hard to catch. Very educational and fun to watch better than ones that just show guys yanking in hundreds of pounds of fish. Well, done and thanks 👍
Much appreciated!
Sat here in Saudi Arabia, the only way i can get some fishing is via the likes of your video's. Many thanks Jon for the great work and many more to come we all hope. Thanks for the masterclass in winter ledgering!
Glad you like them! Have fun over there!
Well done Jon, you have brightened up a freezing cold day for me and thanks for your previous message about your Cadbury sponsorship 😊
My pleasure!
The only way I can get out on the bank these days in the winter is by watching your video's. so thank you for putting in the time and effort for us all to enjoy. Good luck this year in the big-money matches. Roll on spring.
Thanks Alan, appreciate that and I'm glad I can offer some entertainment for you and others who cannot get out.
Heated gloves and I might be tempted to go out. Not that I like fishing with gloves but at least it would get me out of the house@@JonArthur
Fair play for sitting in the shade for a chance of a bite and vid for us.
Top line once again Jon , you keep explaning, talking about your mindset ,why you try things and the reasons why .
Should be winning awards every year . CLASS !
Awards for:
Most chocolate consumed
Most sticks hooked
Most one more casts
😂
I totally agree, all he needs is that bit of extra luck at the drawbag.
Great video , great determination to catch another fish 🐟 , love the soup choice 😂
Glad you enjoyed the soup! :-)
nice one jon another great vlog, you just dont know when to give up oh just another one 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
😂 One more cast Arthur strikes again!
Great Video Jon. Again full of little tips and tweeks to keep you busy whilst trying to locate the Fish. Really enjoyed the session. Thanks again. Cheers. Earned the FREDO you did. 😂👍
Glad you enjoyed it Peter. Have to earn my treats these days!
I'm sure katie is happy to share with dad.
Thankyou for this, just needed it. So good again Jon. Inspires me to get out and try this when its freezing 😊 i hope Mr Patel doesnt want his bread back 😂
I hope so too ha ha! Best of luck if you're out
If I was to go fishing in the cold, and drink as much as you do, I’d be doing more piddling than fishing!
Great little session there Jon, well done!
😂Keep on piddlin’ and baggin’! 🤣
Won my first match of 2024 with the sliding paternoster rig you showed us, swapping from bomb to very small feeder ,on maggot ,a big bream and f1s small carp, and perch ,thanks Jon 👍
Great to hear Geoff! 👍🐟🐟🐟🐟
I've always fancied having a try at this on some good club waters and now I've something to work with . Popped up bread and wafter masterclass , thanks Jon,
Hope you catch a few 👍👍
Great video Jon. Think I've just realised I love battleships 😂.
Keep the great content coming 👌
Glad you liked it!
Hello John, cold winter carp fishing, great watercraft Jon, good info cheer atb Dave.
Glad you enjoyed it
Well done Jon they always say perseverance pays in your case it did 👍well done
Thanks Richard, nice when the tip finally flings around!
Thanks Jon. It takes a certain type of angler to go fishing in those sort of conditions, and still enjoy themselves. Unfortunately for me, no bites, but still nice to be out there.
Thanks Dennis, I've seen a lot of top anglers blanking recently, so it's got very tough out there!
Great video again Jon lad. Thanks for the entertainment on a very cold day. Just goes to say if you're patient, you will catch in the winter..
Cheers for watching Stephen
Jon, soup after chocolate, you are class. Great vid as usual. JB
😂

Nice weather for ice skating now! 🥶
Many thanks for another great film.
My pleasure!
Cracking video Jon, great insight into ‘how to’ 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice one I like this style. Whenever I go in my tackle shop they seem to have your videos playing! I haven't been in for a while though due to only needing a few slices of bread. Thanks for the video.
Ha ha, that's bonkers!
@@JonArthur Just on a laptop screen behind the counter, HT Angling, seen it a few times :D
I just ordered a few of those bombs while watching this. Cheers for the great tutorial on winter bomb fishing ( not that I do much of it ) I think you earned more than one FREDDO in that cold weather
Glad you enjoyed it Stu!
Well done for braving the cold mate, tight lines
Glad you enjoyed it Mark
You really earn’t that Freddo personally I’m a dark chocolate Greens & Blacks man. Anyway great video John and it does motivate me well done.
Nice one dufferscorner thanks.

Thanks Stan. Freddo power!
Better than sat at home.tight lines.
Cheers John
Excellent catch on a chilly day! Happy New Year Jon.
Cheers Andy. Happy New Year!
Nice video Jon
Cheers Pete
Great stuff Mr. Arthur. I sat at a natural lake for about 5 hrs at the weekend trying bomb and bread. I caught less than 7...quite a lot less...fk all in fact!!! 😂
😂😂 Oh dear!
I had a awesome day on the smaller lake there it’s much deeper almost 8ft 5/6 meters out had some really nice bream plenty in the 2/3lbs plus a few carp among them all on corn
Great to hear. I still have tried the other lake, but only fished the place three times so far. Definitely due a go on the adjacent lake now.
Hi Jon, great job, I think we ought to change your name to Jon Ardy Arthur. Thanks.
😂
You sank my battleship
😂
Brilliant video Jon, I’m definitely going to be chucking a bomb this winter. I would of had the Freddo first though mate 😂
Save the best til last!
👏👏 fantastic
Cheers gmask
Great video Jon. Green and Blacks all day long. I hope that wasn’t a Bloody Mary you had.
Ha ha. Could've been! ;-)
Great day in the cold...
Just glad to catch on a day like that!
Dairy Milk obviously, if it’s not Cadbury’s it ain’t chocolate….
Bomb and Freddo lethal
Bomb n Freddo 😂👍
All 3 with a brew in that weather. LoL
Sounds like a plan!
Hi Jon great video and your efforts rewarded 👍 quick question I notice you and many top anglers when playing fish especially big fish play the fish with rod down and a pump action where I was always taught keep the rod up less chance of losing the fish just wondering your reasoning is it a quicker way to get the fish in ?
Always play them low unless there are snags you need to get the fish away from, bars, roots, reeds etc. If you pull up they pull down and it puts more pressure on the fish which can lead to some bad tangles from hook pulls and breakages. Only bring the fish up at the last minute when the fish is in netting range, as a fish breaking the surface increases the pressure on the tackle which can lead to hook pulls. Thats my theory anyway!
FREDDO everytime
Sounds good to me!
Jon. another great video watched it twice. Could I just ask you I noticed your rod holdall was the Matrix Horizon 2 rod version but looked like you have 4 rods in it. Been looking for a new hard case holdall for to fit my 3 x 10ft and 1 x 9ft rods with 3000 reels. What's the length and would the fit. Regards
Hi yes I have both sizes of that rod case and get 4 in each. The shorter one has two 9fts and two 11ft wags, so it’d fit your rods. The longer one usually has two 12ft wags and two 10ft feeders, sometimes even squeeze a fifth in if careful! But you have to stagger the rods and be careful of course.
Nice one Jon, have you ever thought to use a pop up in the same way as the bread?
Yes certainly and we used to do that at Decoy when bread was not allowed. Ive done it with marshmallows too!
Top vid again Jon. Will the pellet bombs interchange with the inline maggot feeders please?
Sadly no, they're independent to the rest of the interchangeable system, but I use the 20g (1/3oz) inline bombs a lot too, which are interchangeable.
@@JonArthur cheers
Instead of discs on a quickstop ,, try a small pinch of bread tucked in a band ,, it looks great when fluffs up and stays on ages
Great tip! I have actually done it in the past, rolling little slithers.
👍
👍
Jon to stop my hands getting cold in the winter I wear surgical rubber gloves keeping my hands dry and warm try it
Thats a great trick I use myself a lot Roy. I have a box in the van for filling up at the garage and chop the finger and thumb off for fishing as Ive shown on a few vids, but didn't need them this day as was just feeder fishing. I actually lent my mate a pair at the weekend!
Green and blacks followed by Freddo Jon 😂 best of both worlds
Sounds good to me! :-)
Just brilliant, I tried a couple of days ago, raining, cold, freezing in fact 🥶 and like a true pro you give us this footage 😃 I couldn’t get a bite 😢 do you put your used wafters back in your pot J ?
Cheers for watching. Yes I often do pop them back in the pot ha ha!
Freedom every time 😂i😂😂😂
Hope you meant Freddo (bloody autospell!) 😂
Freddo 🐸🐸
Yum!
FREDDO all day long 🎣
😂
Must have been cold, you only had another 5 or 6 "last casts", cheers.
😂😂😂
Hi Jon. Do you wear a heated gilet/jacket ? I like mine. Still had a few blanks though. 😢
Ive got a heated waistcoat but not needed it this season yet and still not quite sure about them
@@JonArthur You must be a hardy Southerner, course it’s much colder up here in Yorkshire. 🥶
Midlanders are the best of both! :-)
Hi Jon, are the inserts for 3dr accessories available separately or do I need to purchase an accessories ro get them.?
If you contact matrix via their contact page form they’ll know. Which inserts were you after?
@@JonArthur looking for ones to fit keepnet arms and feeder rest
I meant what diameter inserts: 25mm, 30mm or the unusual umbrella one
@@JonArthur sorry I meant the part that the net or rod rest screws into that quick releases from the 3dr accessories

Can you explain the difference to presentation a compressed punch compared to single pieces please?
If you squeeze it you are taking the air out and making the bread denser so it becomes more neutral density or sinks, so you have a lovely fluffy bit of bread, but on the bottom. The umcompressed bread is more likely to float and also ultimately comes off the hair quicker.
@@JonArthur thanks so much makes sense really
FREDO allday
Go go Freddo!
Freddo
🍫
Really enjoyed that Jon you definitely deserved that Freddo!
Cheers Derek, it's got even colder since then! Brrrr!
Great work Jon, just shows dnot always have to feed, tightlines and cheesy peas 🫛 😀
I wonder if I would've caught on those??? 😂
@JonArthur the carp boys back in the day used peas and raisins, I have tried peas they do work. Thing of it as green sweetcorn
