    Hi HW,
    Thank you for the walk today. It is so nice to see the sun out, at the moment we have a cold spell in Yorkshire and summer has gone away for a few weeks.
    I noticed that it was busy, must be due to Anzac day. I did watch the news on you tube about the dawn, on that day. Very brave men who fought that war.
    The birds were having a good time in the bins. Have a good weekend.
    🙏

    I agree with you that autumn is a good time to visit weather wise. Also spring is nice too, with the floral displays at the David Jones store.

      Agreed. I must say Autumn is definitely my fav time of year. Cooler, darker nights, footy games, changing colours in the imported trees and shrubs. Thanks for watching.

      Yep they had some strength to endure those conditions. My great uncle fell at Lone Pine, Gallipoli. I must get to the dawn service there one day and also visit his memorial. Lest we forget.

    It was nice to ride the light railway, & to see Kingsford as you travelled through. I’ve been in botanical garden several times but realise there’s lots I didn’t see! Always went to Oz in April/May, summer too hot. I went to Wendy’s secret garden in 2019, I’d like a walk around there, and although palm beach is a long way from CBD I’d like you to take us there, I’ve been twice to see home and away locations (choosing to go when they weren’t filming) but didn’t see anything else of palm beach or Avalon.
    Wherever you take us, I always enjoy your walks. Thanks.

    Great enjoying your vid and George street again etc lol. I totally agree with coming to Sydney in the spring or autumn. This is when I come to one of my favourite cities .Been there in the summer years ago for work and it was too hot.As soon as I stept outside it was like needing a shower all over again.

    Interesting POV on the light rail going into the CBD on St George's Day. The weather looked great for this tour.I can see why George Street is popular with visitors; taking you virtually from Central Station all the way up to the Rocks and the bridge. If I was a betting man, I'd put a few bob on most tourists never going on many other streets.

    • @hwtours
      @hwtours  2 месяца назад +1

      Agreed. George street number 1, followed by Pitt & Market. The tourists don’t veer from these too often.

    Appreciate your videos, have you considered doing one all the way up Paramatta River, love to see the homes by the water. Thanks heaps..

      Yeh for sure. Last time I thought about that the top of the river near Parra was still under significant construction. Might wait until it’s all open. Thanks for the suggestion.

    In our winter in Canada..when the sky is very intense blue it means it's COLD 🥶..30 to 40 below with a halo around the sun because of ice crystals ..it's been around 20c here last couple of days but windy kicking up dust !

    • @hwtours

      Where’s the dust coming from?

      From the farmers 🚜 🌾 fields outside the city and the sand they put on roads here for traction on ice 🧊..the snow and ice melt but leave all the sand on the roads

    Hey HW! We could use more light rail here in the US. Would love to take a rail from Myrtle Beach to Charleston. Really nice day....every place you visit looks fantastic. Here in South Caolina everyone who grew up here drives those massive trucks! So exactly what is a Piccolo? A regular coffee? Have a great rest of your weekend.

    • @hwtours
      @hwtours  2 месяца назад

      There used to be trams all over Sydney until the 60s before they ripped them all out. It took lots of planning before they were able to get these light trains installed. A piccolo is a shot of coffee with steamed milk. Like a mini latte. Thanks for watching.

    They still haven't made an official announcement yet on when the Metro to Sydenham will open. There is a public open day (booking required) for the Martin Place Metro Station on May 5th. I had a wander around the old White Bay power station the other day, looking at the Biennale art and the old power station equipment. Major General Leslie Morshead was in command of the British Commonwealth forces (including more than 14,000 Australians) defending Tobruk in WW2 (the rats of Tobruk).

      @hwtours  2 месяца назад +1

      May 5th wow. Not bad. The Old Power station sounds cool. Yeh I had heard of Morshead before, but didn’t place him in any particular battle or battles. Long time since I studied that History. Thanks for adding some cool facts in as usual. Appreciated. 🙏

    Hello from Los Angeles, CA. Curious, what kind of birds are those? Definitely never seen one before. All we have are standard pigeons here 😁

    • @hwtours
      @hwtours  2 месяца назад +1

      The big white ones with black beaks? They are Ibis (affectionately known in Oz as Bin Chickens) given their propensity to scavenge in waste bins for food scraps.

    I went to UNSW many years ago and Kingsford has not improved - in fact it looks worse but having Anzac Parade through the middle doesn’t help I suppose

    Hi, HW. Long time no see.
    I was so busy not to enjoy your streamings.
    I have heard there are big fire in Victoria. Is it OK? When I visited Sydney in 2019 Nov., there was a big fire and caution was needed.

    • @hwtours
      @hwtours  2 месяца назад +1

      I'm not aware of any fires in Victoria. Yes 2019 into 2020 was a shocking fire season. Many days of thick smoke. You couldn't even see the harbour, it was so bad. Good to see you back.
