Couldn't agree more! One thing most everyone overlooks about the second iso at 12,800 is shooting in 120fps or HD 240fps. Having that second iso at 12,800 enables the use of high frame rates indoors or even at night when there's limited light and still get amazing footage! This camera is going to last as long as shooting in 4k is a standard because it's got such incredible image quality! Great vid!

I had to step away from my video work due to many factors yet now I hope to get back into it. And I have the a7SIII and the a7IV so those two truly compliment each other. I hope I’m back filming again soon… but I feel like I have to start all over again. It’ll come easier the second time around. 🙏 lol
that's the golden combo! I want to get the A7IV at some point too! It's like muscle memory though, the second time you (re)start, it'll be so much easier than when you really just started.

I have to admit to one thing tho…I have learned a lot on Premiere Pro but I messed around and tried Davinci Resolve and let’s just say I didn’t come back to premiere 🤦🏾♂️… but I’ll still watch your videos because they are entertaining and they’ll still apply to Resolve 🤝🏾🙌🏾

@@lilafromyoutube oh ya big time… I just felt like my workflow was sped up with resolve and you can get more surgical once you figure out how to navigate ( which really takes a day ) ::….:: I also liked the fact that you pay once and you’re good with updates for life… Download the free version and play with it for a second.
and I was one of those people who got their hands on it in the first three months after its launch. Love my Sony A7SIII and love you lila.

I only had only overheating issues with the 7s3 just like fx3 when I was shooting in Africa for 12 hours through in 100+ degrees.
But in LA it's been mostly fine.
Just something to be mindful of. In general we should give our baby's a break from the sun ☺️

Cameras overheating in such weather makes sense. I wonder what tricks people use who live in such hot countries
There is a misunderstanding on the hotshoe and water. It will not break it its sealed BUT the pins inside will confuse the camera until it is dry again and that can be long (use a dryer at 20cm) thats the reason to always use a cap. Now with salt water we have a totally different issue it will kill the pins over time.
Is it better to shoot in 60fps or 30fps in low lighting on the a7siii?
Just saw your Insta and saw you did concert photography. I would love to see you compare the a6600 or similar aps-c sony vs the full frames you have in a concert setting. IMO one of the trickiest forms of photography with fast moving subjects at times and vastly inconsistent lighting conditions.

I've got an A7Siii and an A74 as well and I agree with essentially your entire video. The one frustration with both cameras is Sony's refusal to add any features to their cameras with firmware updates. They could EASILY add some functionality like focus breathing compensation and subject pan and track (with the A74 anyway), but they just aren't.
That and the "everything including the kitchen sink" method of every possible option and adjustment buried in 3 and sometimes 4 levels of menus is often annoying. More than once, I've had to research something online to figure out why the camera isn't doing what it used to do a month ago, or how I get it to do something as simple as toggling between actual view and compensating view when I'm shooting with strobes. Though the newer menu system is heaps better than before the A7Siii.
They just announced a firmware update coming in Spring. Focus breathing comp, dci internal and more! Too bad most ppl sold off already lol

I had one and it's a great camera but I went back to Lumix because they are so fun to shoot with.

I currently shoot with an older Xt3 and im looking to upgrade. Im trying to decide between 2 full frame cameras. The new Lumix s5iix or the older Sony A7siii.
My use case is video only and im currently focused on realestate videos and some weddings, client work ect.
My main concern is for filming real estate in 4k60. What would look better a7siii 4k60 or the lumix s5ii 4k60 cropped? Most high end videographers in the real estate industry use a7siii. Taking everything into account, noise, low light, Dynamic range, image quality ect which is better.
My goal to get the best quality 4k 60 video.

I have never used the Lumix so I can't say anything about that camera. I can only say that from experience, you really can't go wrong with the a7SIII.
I am an owner as well and I have nothing but GOOD to say about this King of Video. No problems ever even with the flippy-screen. 😄 The only great feature you missed mentioning is the included profile S-Cinetone handed down from top Sony cinema cameras. If you’re not an Slog3 person who spends a lot of time colour-grading like me, this is a God-send! Beautiful cinematic video not too saturated or sharpened with still great dynamic range and nice natural highlight roll offs right out of the box, giving you way more time to edit instead of manually adjusting everything. It’s way way quicker for delivering to RUclips - you should try it!!📸😎
So should I save money and get a used A7S3?
Well yes of course if you can get a good deal! This camera still outperforms even newer cameras. Just bought the Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 G2 lens to add to my collection. Super nice. Good luck!
Great Job Lila as always and very good and informative video. I would have get the a7siii but because i am a studio photographer but i ordered A7 IV yesterday. I am waiting for a comparison video A7siii vs A7 iv. And nice pic on the Adobe big screen. That torso so trending now #LilaTorso :V:
Indeed the A7SIII is still a great camera ... 4k100p is great! it would be great to get all the firmware updates from the FX3 ... anyways, I also don't really like the flip-screen, the screen solution of the A7RV is the best I think... and yes, sadly no APS-C crop mode, I miss that as well but there is the "clear image zoom" option that can get up to 1,5x as well... I set it to C4 button so I can access it even while recording video!
Smart! I haven't used that zoom function. I had to look up the A7RV screen and it looks interesting. It looks like a puzzle lol! But I like that it's both a flippy and tilty screen. I wonder how vulnerable it is?
I bought the A7SIII more or less at the same time as you did and a year later got the A7IV. Love them both (My flip screen on the A7SIII got wobbly so I need to send it back to Sony soon...)

Still use this one as my studio setup, while using the ZV-E1 as my on the go cam. Love both of them equally (obviously), but in retrospect wish I had gone for the FX3 instead. Still zero reason to upgrade. Especially with Sony pumping out cameras faster than I can make sense of. 😂

I am excited for the update coming up for the A7SIII or FX3, just so I can buy the used version cheaper. I just saw 2 listed on Offer up for just $2200-$2500 for the SIII and still $3000 for the FX3 at the cheapest. REALLY want that FX3 and if I can pick on up at $2500 I am in. I don't need the latest and greatest and that camera is everything I need.

sounds pretty good but make sure you inspect the body well before buying! check the sensor etc :)
It may be good for the hobby, but I hate the gamble and will never partake. People today don't collect anymore (seemingly) and instead of caring to get a card of a player on your favorite team, you look at the dollar value and only that. I think the bannishment of breakers would be worse, but kind of agree with you about mystery packs.

A7siii cant have a crop mode because its only 12 megapixels. So no room for shooting crop mode in 4k
The a7siii is 🔥 🔥, I recommend it to most people I come across
it still holds up!
I think it would be better to wait for the a7s iv at this point. It might be $200-$300 more when it comes out but it should have some better features and the ergonomic improvements of the newer Sony alpha bodies. It should be getting released later this year or early next year so it's definitely worth the wait. Not to mention that the a7s iii will see a price drop when the a7s iv releases for those who won't be able to afford it but still want the great features and video quality.
While that isn't a bad idea there's too problems waiting... IF they make an a7SIV we're still about 1 1/2 - 2 years out from getting it... IF... There's widespread speculation that Sony will discontinue the S line and if that's the case then there won't even be an a7SIV.
