I mean while you're right it's kinda misleading. The skyscraper in BF4 could only be destroyed by hitting its pillars not just randomly shooting at the glass. Also it was the only destructible skyscraper in the whole game, none of the other skyscrapers could be destroyed
Yeah Battlefield 4 had those levolution events that got repetitive after 5 times. Such a missed opportunity for actual destruction. The game being set in Urban China should have been an amazing place for dynamic destruction.

Battlefield 3 "Back to Karkand" expansion had a nice destruction. The basically added a lot of debris on impact. Sometimes it could change the outcome of the firefight, combined with screen shake and debris.
Battlefield 4 was probably the best battlefield in my opinion, almost all maps all had at least one event that changed a large portion of the map, something they need more of that in 2042 for sure

I was the best at having the battlefield essence. its launch was terrible but the current game is what peak battlefield looks like. levolution shouldve been expanded upon. most of the time it kinda ruined the map like in siege of shanghai but it had a lot of potential for actually making it better.
Battlefield 4 was the best for Levolution Battlefield 3 was the best combat experience from the game series at least to me

@@RochRich. Plus it's not a technical issue since the BC2 maps have perfect destruction, it's a map and gameplay design issue that BF V and it's building mechanics were supposed to solve but Dice didn't follow up on this game
BF 3 destruction was so good. Hiding in rubble while an enemy tank decimated a house was good suspense. Also that one map playing Rush where you base jump down to the next point was sick af.
That base jump was always fun but using rubble to prone and hide and if the tank doesn't see you. It's a complete win in itself
Damavand Peak was a good rush map.
Except that 90% of people use thermal optics in tanks so it’s almost impossible to hide in BF3 and 4
I enjoyed playing Battlefield one for about three years, Battlefield five for roughly 2 1/2 and battlefield 2042 for about two days
This is unfortunately exactly how I feel as well, I played all the battlefields up to 2042 never regretted buying a single one of them due to the countless hours of jaw dropping entertainment I got from them…. I bought 2042 and was sooo excited, I played for about an hour and hated just about every single part of the game, couldn’t of felt like more of waste of money I swear

@@minutemanmedic4143 Unfortunately I missed playing battlefield four in its heyday but I did manage to play it for a few months in 2018, and I can firmly agree that shit slapped.
Personally I got bored of BF1 after 3 months and didn't necessarily get bored of BFV but didn't really have anyone to play it with after 4 months. But I played BF3 for roughly 3 years and BF4 for another 2-3 years. And even Hardline for nearly 2 years. 2042 I gave it a week and was completely done. Tried hopping on a couple days ago after over 400 ImPrOvEmEnTs but it's still complete garbage.
Battlefield 4 is so good! I still play it to this day.

To me bc2 was THE battlefield. Seeing Arica Harbor getting absolutely leveled is still as awesome as it was 10 years ago. Luckily it's still very active at weekends and just as fun as i remember it
I still play it and there's something about bfbc2 that just makes it on the top of my list. The sounds? The destruction? How the guns feel when shooting?! My obly complaint is no strafing on pc 🥲😭😂

Imagine you're in the middle of an Urban battle and out of everything a building falls on you.
I've seen that skyscraper fall down at least 100 times and it never gets old, what a beautiful destruction system that game had.
2042 symbolizes the decline of the Battlefield franchise. It looks as though the best titles are behind us :(

the building that collapsed on bf4 was a script and in fact it always fell the same way. in addition, it was the only building on the map to fall. buying the general destruction of bf 2042 with that of the old bf you can clearly see the qualitative leap of the physics engine

No wonder 2042's new wtc won't be shown collapsing here, it will be bad for the "safest building" advertisement since 9/11 becomes a golden dark meme.
This is what happens when AAA game studios stop caring about their players and start caring about monetizing their games.

They’re kinda right. BF4 was a step up from BF3 in that it had more unique large structures even though they weren’t destructible. Both BF3 and BF4 have sparse maps with small destructible buildings (although BF4’s large maps seem more empty), let’s just say they’re even on destruction there. For smaller, tighter maps, I’d say BF4 has less destruction than BF3 because of those indestructible structures. BF3 also let you kill players with falling rubble which they seemed to have removed in BF4 except those planks propping up the ceiling in Metro.
What was so fun about bf4 is when your When your on top of the builds as it falls with every one on it

i use to literally go around in bf3 and 4 with a tank or a rocket system seeing what i could destroy. so satisfying especially if players were inside.
This is a totally unfair comparison… that skyscraper in 4 was a Levolution, try shooting rockets at any other tall building in BF4 on any map and it’ll do the same it did in the 2042 clip.
But I also despise 2042, and BF4 is my favorite modern warfare-class FPS of all time, so I dunno why I’m standing up for 2042 here.

at least 2042 has bot support and custom servers/matches that still lets you unlock stuff
it's the only battlefield game I enjoyed that came out after 2142 because I could actually create my own fun again instead of just playing through a boring campaign once then never playing again
@b1_ferg It's really not "unfair," by all rights 2042 should've had similar destruction, "Levolution" or otherwise it's still literally player controlled destruction, and BF4 has a myriad of big buildings to destroy. BF1 evolved that destruction too, being able to level basically every building on every map with some exceptions, zero excuse.

The building in BF4 fell after you destroyed specific points, it never reacted to rockets either, just like the building in 2042 doesn't.

In BF4 I was impressed when I first encountered it in multiplayer😮
They went towards entertainment, but the ideal game would be a mixture of Bf + Arma = a step towards realism.
In Bf3 you can kill with the rubble of a building by shooting him with an RPG. At the Grand Bazaar, in the corridor, I made five kills with debris. 3 is my abso favourite, 4 is good weapon accesories update but reduced map destruction and they started production on the conweyr line. 42 is like Fortnite, CRSED, PUBG, COD orgy.
Bad game vs pretty solid good game. I actually have 1400 hours on BF4 and 1 regretted hour on 2042.

A none distructable building vs 1 building on 1 map in bf that's design to fall over. This fails to prove anything. Just like most that complain about bf2042. Bf3 and 4 had the same kind of start. But none of you spoiled brats remember that.

BF2042 chose to have 128 players and massive maps because they knew they wouldn't have to put in destruction, if you honestly think 2042 doesn't deserve the flack it's getting then your a muppet and your taste in games is just as bad

I remember the launch of bf1 was plagued with bugs and even a bloody hack that shut it down but I still loved every second I could spend on it....do you know why? Because that game had passion behind it. Bf2042 removes so much of what makes battlield great. The maps are big but empty, there's a weird hero shooter vibe with the most laughable dialogue, there are no defined classes and the weapon choice is woefully lacking. Also, why no scoreboard? Kills competition
