In London on the 4th of Jan this year, a woman in the audience screamed as soon as the monster was revealed. Even Hadley Fraser couldn't hide a smile (Dr. Frankenstein) and told her to calm down and oh my god I lost my shiiiiiit
Dr. Frankenstein: Igor, are those Hans Delbruck's feet I put in the monster? Igor: No. Dr. Frankenstein: Ah. Whose feet are they? Igor: Fred... someone.
Absolute perfection. I just wish it were a little longer at the end so we could hear the audience's reaction because I could just feel them about to blow the roof off the place.
@TheRyanKent It was a little joke like the Wolfman was in the wrong musical... Because Wolfman, Dracula, and Frankenstein are all from around the same time, etc. :)
I really like this show and am very critical of it, and this time it's in a good way… This looked absolutely fantastic. I love the woman in the beginning with her dry humor which was spot on and the entire monster scene was wonderful
His name is Shuler Hensley, by the way. Fun fact: He and Hugh Jackman were also together, as Jud Fry and Curly McLain respectively, in the 1998 filmed London revival of Oklahoma!
How's about that? I saw the National Tour when it was in San Antonio too! It was a blast! I thought it was a very strong cast and that Roger Bart was outstanding.
wow! i'm surprised you didn't get caught filming this! thanks for posting! I saw the show last week in San Francisco and thought the show was fantastic! Very entertaining and very talented cast.
The scene where the dancers all came out was different at the GATEWAY...they don't have a stage set up like that. BUT...when the " Creature" went off stage for a second and then came running out as the DANCE chased him was a hilarious change to compensate. Great show...can't say enough about it
There is an actor behind the cyclorama with a light hitting him. The light is up stage center. The closer the actor is to the light, the bigger he is to the audience, and vice-versa. It is simply two actors doing the same choreography.
i saw this show in san antonio. it is amazing 5 stars!!!! two thumbs up!!!! i definatley reccomend everybody who has a chance to go see it to go!!!!! its fabulous!!!
How do you know they were? Pretty sure they weren't mate...Most of the time...people who do Broadway shows...ACTUALLY have talent, unlike Singers in the business.
Nylon Whale You mean the melody I assume. They aren't lip syncing. I saw the show live, you can tell the difference. They might be playing the track to assist the live music. But it's merely an instrumental. Also, the audio is going to be the same because they're the OBC...so maybe you can't tell the difference between their live and recorded. I saw this live though and trust me...they're good.

Why do I get the feeling she was actually just trying to reenact the audience’s reaction to the monster in the movie? XD
Dr. Frankenstein: Igor, are those Hans Delbruck's feet I put in the monster?
Igor: No.
Dr. Frankenstein: Ah. Whose feet are they?
Igor: Fred... someone.
William Craig I think about this joke a lot.
DAT HARMONY @ 4:51 !!!!
Absolute perfection. I just wish it were a little longer at the end so we could hear the audience's reaction because I could just feel them about to blow the roof off the place.
"MOTTIMM OMM NHE RIHHHZZZHHH" is one of the greatest single lines in ANY Musical!!
That super clear double high C at the very end. SO CLEAN
@TheRyanKent It was a little joke like the Wolfman was in the wrong musical... Because Wolfman, Dracula, and Frankenstein are all from around the same time, etc. :)
Roger Bart sort of looks like Clark Gable.
I really like this show and am very critical of it, and this time it's in a good way… This looked absolutely fantastic. I love the woman in the beginning with her dry humor which was spot on and the entire monster scene was wonderful
WOW!!! WHAT A GREAT ADAPTION!!! THIS IS A super scene!!!
I get to be the monster in a local production of this.... gotta learn to tap in 6 inch platforms.... gonna be a fun time XD
Haha, good luck with that! Make sure to (try not to) break a leg!
oh gosh! hope it goes well! break a leg!
Bet you did great!
Must’ve been really fun!
The strobe light effect is soooo much cooler in person!
Brianna Arce yeah. It totally burns the figures in your mind.
Haha that's awesome...and it's actually the same guy who played Frankenstein monster in the Hugh Jackman movie van helsing
CazzSDMF I immediately looked up proof when you said that, and I was so surprised that it was true! GREAT EYE THERE!! 😃👍
Oh, then that’s why they’re so good. It made my day.
His name is Shuler Hensley, by the way.
Fun fact: He and Hugh Jackman were also together, as Jud Fry and Curly McLain respectively, in the 1998 filmed London revival of Oklahoma!
I really hope they make a movie out of this like they did with the musical version of The Producers.
This video was cut 8 seconds short -- the ovation must have been deafening!
How's about that? I saw the National Tour when it was in San Antonio too! It was a blast! I thought it was a very strong cast and that Roger Bart was outstanding.
THAT! WAS SOMETHING OF EXETREME AND EXQUISITE BEAUTY!!! BRAVO! I SAY, BRAVO!!!!
wow! i'm surprised you didn't get caught filming this! thanks for posting!
I saw the show last week in San Francisco and thought the show was fantastic! Very entertaining and very talented cast.
knarisa you can film this kid you won't get in trouble
@JohannaGotTalent41 They were both good, but I liked Roger Bart more. He wasn't quite as . . . . mean, I guess, as Gene Wilder.
OMG if this show is still on Broadway I'll see it! Please, is it?
I just read that Mel Brooks is planning a new production of it.
It is now being produced in London. I'm not sure if it has opened yet.
4:50 is absolutely the best
Omg! That's Fantastic :D
So very Susan Stroman!
this right here. this is So fucking RAD. i mean wow! this is just spectacular. i wish i saw this in person.
it is someone behind the curtain because i think it sopose to be the shadow of the moster.
ROGER BART!!
roger burt was in the producers too! he's very good! Not a s Gene wilder ofcourese but good! I wish i could see it!
that 3 part harmony is beautiful!!!
I thought that the lady in the beginning's mole was a microphone...
I love the part with the shadow on the wall! This looks like fun to see.
The scene where the dancers all came out was different at the GATEWAY...they don't have a stage set up like that. BUT...when the " Creature" went off stage for a second and then came running out as the DANCE chased him was a hilarious change to compensate. Great show...can't say enough about it
Saw the National Tour in Colorado and it was truly fantastic.
8:43-8:51 - BEST part of this number.
is the creatureTM wearing platforms to make him look taller or is he just goth
Shuler Hensley is tall, AND I think his shoes had lifts to make tower over the rest of the cast.
Plus, the original monster in the original Frankenstein wore platforms, as well. It's kind of a send-off.
I just saw this over the weekend and fell in love. As much as I adore the movie, it came to life onstage for me.
Who are these people. They are awesome..!
They are Young Frankenstein, the best musical ever made
I do this for my tap song in danc?!
Although much appreciative of the effort, and please don't count it short‐ this version doesn't quite capture the full embodyment
Does anyone know if the rights are out for this show?? So my high school could do it? :)
You're most likely out of high school by now, but yes. Yes they are
There is an actor behind the cyclorama with a light hitting him. The light is up stage center. The closer the actor is to the light, the bigger he is to the audience, and vice-versa. It is simply two actors doing the same choreography.
LADIES AND GENTLEMANIANS !!! :}
it's a really fun show!! your money would not be wasted :)
@TheOfficialKarlaXC14 OMG! I saw it in San Antonio also! The tour cast was amazing! I really enjoyed them!
This is amazing!!
@llron1west he isnt the young frankenstein he's the monster...
Cnaan Levkovich I think he is talking about The Dr. Frankenstein not the monster kid
Fabulous!

@ztslovebird Someone's behind the screen, between it and the light you see from the back.
@llron1west Well it's a good thing you came to this video then isn't it.
I have a question....how much did your seats cost you?
@llron1west Christopher Ryan was awesome!
@llron1west correction: He is
Very carefully.
Anyone know how they did the shadow gag?
ztslovebird man standing behind the curtain

"Bouttin on aaa Riiiiiitz"! LMAO
Puttin on the ritz
Not a bad impersonation. Bravo, Better than I expected.
@MadameParanoia She did that for me at Pantages as well.
Roger is a cheater
+Tara Osborne Huh?
It is someone behind the curtain doing it. I just saw it on tour, you can see that it is someone.
oh yes this is a great movie.
You cheater!!!!!!!!
Really wish they weren't lip singing really good though
How do you know they were? Pretty sure they weren't mate...Most of the time...people who do Broadway shows...ACTUALLY have talent, unlike Singers in the business.
Because I am doing the exact play and the audio script has the same voices
They have the audio playing
Well just the song part
Nylon Whale You mean the melody I assume. They aren't lip syncing. I saw the show live, you can tell the difference. They might be playing the track to assist the live music. But it's merely an instrumental.
